Proper pub. finally summoned the courage to pop in, the outside isn't promising, but the reviews persuaded me. I'm glad they did. I'll be back

We only had drinks with friends. The landlord and landlady were very friendly. They were welcoming as it was our first time there. Would definitely go again

Homely pub by the river. Friendly staff. Roaring fire for the cold nights, beer garden for the summer days. Good selection of drinks, would be better if they did food.

1st and last time had to wait 1 hour 45 minutes for food and it was terrible cold and not nice at all stake was like old shoe leather Terrible should have had a McDonald’s and save some money

Absolutely disgusted with the customer service here as I just went in for a quick pint after work and the land lady KICKED my 1 year old into the fireplace! horrible service will be taking my hard earned pennies elsewhere

Very cosy and cute, very clean and hygienic. I love the decor and the old traditional pub appeal! This pub definitely deserves more hype! If I wasnt pregnant I would have a nice alcoholic drink in here as it is cheap and clean! Good variety of crisps and different drinks they even have the bottled glass pepsi! What a treat! Staff and the owner are very friendly! Will go back again!

We visited on a Saturday afternoon we got there for are time slot at 5.15pm, when it got to about 6pm one of the staff came to are table and said that the table we were at was booked for 6.30pm when we asked how long they give people to eat they said 1hr 45 mins so the would make it 6.45pm before we had to leave are table.until the next lot of people arrived starting to complain that we haven't left yet. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK AGAIN.🤬🤬🤬

AVOID! One of the worst pubs in Doncaster, in fact, one of the worst in England! You’d think during Covid they’d take cleaning a bit more seriously but oh my goodness it smelled like a retirement home that’s never had a cleaner in 40+ years, the staff were incredibly rude. They were quite nice to one of the locals but it seems that’s the only people they have time for! Avoid at all costs

Landlady expresses awful bigoted views, not friendly at all. Avoid at all costs. Claims noone has been to the pub due to Covid-19 even though there was a time before the pandemic.

Unfortunately it wouldn’t let me leave minus stars. Louise the manager/owner needs to give her head a wobble

Very well organised and u felt safe in the pub nothing was too much trouble before u can have a drink u have to give details for track and trace which was very good as it was the first pub that ask us too well done to the landlady Louise

Great pub and lovely Landlady. The interior has been part-modernised but still in-keeping with a traditional style. The log burners are a nice touch and in operation. There are a fair few beer styles on offer with guest ale too! Give this 'local-pub' a try before you head over the bridge for a drink of watered down, ill-kept, borderline out-of date beer from a chain pub owned by a pension pinching millionaire!

Very friendly staff and regulars. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the pint is more expensive than my local. Didn't see the star system on 1st review.

Nice pub with friendly staff and punters. Have the log burners going in the winter, usually a guest beer on but not a huge selection. They have a decent dart board and sports on TV in the tap room.

A good pub with some excellent beer.

Its a traditional pub, with old beer mats stuck to ceiling of the bar. No music blaring out + its a chess club venue (held in a separate room) so its somewhere to hold a conversation + Barnsley bitter! @£3.05 Its also where I saw Desmond Deckker & the Aces on Friday 13th when it was called the jug. Still got the poster as proof!
