Very busy, had to wait 10 - 15 minutes before being served, however once ordered food came quickly and was tasty

Another lovely independent coffee shop doing a roaring trade and outdoing the chains. Gotta love these places and show support. They're not all hip places. Many of them, like this one, are just wonderful places to chill with quality service and product

I’ve been to Etto’s many times for coffee and cake or a pastry. Only once have I been disappointed. It’s been a few weeks and thought I’ve got some time so will have lunch. As I’ve always found the counter staff very helpful and friendly. It was busy considering it’s a Monday and I thought I’ll try the beef and rustic bread. Expecting a hearty, filling thick soup/stew (as described) as I started eating I looked at the texture, flavour and cut of the vegetables. Having years ago been a good tester I’m well versed in knowing the difference between processes tinned foods and fresh. I was disheartened as it reminded me very much of a tinned soup, thickening agents very evident in the gloss of the liquore and processed vegetables being evident. The soup was also padded out with grain. It wasn’t unpleasant but very disappointing as I could go to any supermarket and buy a tin of generic soup for the same experience. I did ask a server if the soup was fresh or tinned and they confirmed the latter. What a shame - I expect more for nearly £8 and sure others do too. I will be thinking twice before eating there as feel very let down. The frustrating thing is a good homemade beef stew would probably be more cost effective and certainly more enjoyable. On a positive note my coffee was as delicious as always.

Mmm... £8.70 for a slice of white bread with processed avocado (judging by the perfect mush and bright green it's not fresh), feta and literally a vine of whole tomatoes. Not even enough to fill the small plate 🤔 Coffee is bitter. Unpleasant to sit inside unless you're deaf due to the constant loud banging of the metal portafilter being bashed on the metal knock box. Maybe add a bit of rubber like other cafes do? Such a shame as it's really well situated and has a good atmosphere.

A year ago I went with a friend for an afternoon tea as her birthday treat. It was so delicious we decided to repeat the experience today. What a difference. Last year we had a variety of dainty sandwiches and cakes, beautifully presented, and as much tea as we wanted. This year the price had increased in line with costs in general but the quality was very disappointing. We each got 3 poorly filled sandwiches, 2 egg and 1 wafer thin ham with bits of tomato. The bread was complete with crusts, thick and very dry. The scones and miniature cakes were good. Needless to say, I cannot recommend this afternoon tea as it was expensive for what we got - the sandwiches especially were very disappointing.

Coffee is nice and always very busy, the queue seems to take ages to go down even though several behind the counter. Very big mugs which is nice but prices creeping up to branded coffee houses, the reason I go to to support local as they tend to be a little cheaper

Always busy&full of atmosphere, quality food, & quality staff. Special shout out to Laura who I see consistently go above&beyond with every customer with such a friendly inclusive approach.

Surprisingly very good, quick turn around at the till. Very organised, tables always cleared and cleaned. A good assortment of drinks, snakes, cakes. What more can one ask.

Always a lovely welcome with friendly staff, and yummy cakes, as long as they haven't run out. Coffee is great too.

Nice little place for brunch at the lakeside! Very busy when we went, but was thoroughly enjoyable, especially the lemon drizzle cake! Would recommend.

Can be busy, but there again Greg's is the only competition. And Greg's coffee is good. Worth a visit, interesting selection of goodies. Ho, by the way, they recognise the Blue Light Card.

Absolutely my favourite place for a drink and a sandwich on a Sunday morning bar none. Cannot recommend enough, food and drink are amazing, staff are friendly and courteous, atmosphere is calming.

The panettone and jam was amazing...could eat it everyday. Coffee was hot and very tasty. Brought to our table and we weren't waiting very long even though it was busy. I'll come back!

Came in at 3.30pm asked for a salad which wasn’t on the brunch menu which finishes at 3pm to be told they can’t make me salad as they only do toasties after 3pm! Not what it says on the menu! They say after 3pm they offer a variety of foods, jacket potatoes, salads etc but clearly that isn’t the case! I can’t eat bread due to dietary issues. Baffled that they can’t make a simple salad, service was shocking too, will definitely not be returning!

Just had hot chocolate and a slice of Apple Tart - Amazing! The Tart was really full of Apples and delicious! Would recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Yorkshire Outlet. ❤

2 x latte & what they called gateau slice was sponge cake with icing on top smallest slice ever & it was really dry as tho it was made a week ago our table was full of dirty plates & cups crumbs all over table a member of staff brought out other drinks on a tray & went back in & passed our table twice with a empty tray 2 lattes & stale cake never again shocking service

Sorry. Can’t give a good review to cafe that at breakfast only offer fried eggs, don’t do mushrooms then cost £18 for 2 beans on toast with hot drinks. Disappointing to be honest

Blue light 10% discount. Nice welcoming atmosphere in the cafe. Nice and clean. Staff helpful and polite. Food not too bad, nothing out of this world but fill a hole. The toasties don’t need a gherkin on top of them. Consider having a fixed table number system to allow servers to locate tables quicker rather than them looking for random numbers around the cafe.

Decent coffee albeit quite expensive when compared to other similar places, however, over £4 for a small piece of soggy cake is taking the michael, I'm afraid. Won't be going back.

I realised the toasties are pre-made and only heated in store, when asking for the BBQ chicken without bacon - quite expensive for what you get. Coffee was nice but it was awkward to sit outside and have to be on the look out for the staff to "find us", even though when ordering I said we were sat outside.

Always a long queue in this popular place. Service is slow, prices are pretty expensive but the food and drink quality is good and the staff are friendly.

We have been here lots of times previously. Today we had our 7 year old with us. He was sick. I cleaned my son up and got down on the floor 8 months pregnant to clean everything. When I spoke to a young girl to advise her that it would all need disinfecting before someone else sat there, she couldn’t care less. She offered no help or assistance. As much as we have loved it here before, I won’t be going here in future. None of us plan for our children to be poorly, it turns out he had concussion from football. I am more than happy to clean up after myself or child but the lack of customer service when I informed her after she watched me clean it all up was unacceptable.

I guess it must be down to understaffing, but the place is not clean, we had to clear our table of dirty crockery and debris. Service was less than charming, oh well, we won't be coming back.

Lovely hot chocolate 🫕🍫 with marshmallows

Really upset, ordered a Capuccino and was cold, same with my husband’s latte wasn’t hot at all. Also this coffe shop was closing at 6pm but by 5pm the waitress started putting pressure on us by cleaning all around and putting all the chairs up the tables, so we didn’t feel comfortable and we had to leave. I’m not coming back again.

Had to sit outside as there was no room inside, had quite a wait for our food. we ordered jacket potato, which was cold, and 2 cheese tosties, which were 2 slices of toast with cheese in the middle also cold coffee I know it didn't help with sitting outside but the food could have definitely been hotter.

I am disabled and I was on my own, the staff even though very busy took their time to help me with my tray which I am very grateful for. The food was tasty. It was very busy so the atmosphere wasn't too great but other than that I had a lovely experience here x

Had a walk around the lake and popped over to the shops, had a hot chocolate, cuppa tea and an almond stick. £10. Everything was lovely, service was pretty quick once ordered, there was quite a queue. Some of the food options looked great, will go back and try them out sometime.

This place is best enjoyed on a working/school weekday because everybody has 'found it' now!! Weekends are just mental as the place is rammed. They've even dismantled the ice cream area for more seating and it's just made the place more crowded. So book an afternoon tea but weekday afternoons(!) only. It is lovely.

I went to order our food, my husband wanted frittata, I was told no frittata so I asked about the quiche, the waitress went into the kitchen and said they had one left spring onion and tomato, so I agreed to have that. Then I asked for a jacket potato to be told, no Jacket Potato available. In the end I said I would not bother and took my custom elsewhere. I won’t be going there again.

Lovely gem of a cafe. Good to cater for different dietary requirements. I need gluten free food, great selection of gf cakes. Staff very helpful, went to check what I ordered would be appropriate. My parents ordered quiche, very fresh and tasty as were the chips. Salad very fresh. The cafe is clean, welcoming and not as dear as some places I have eaten at. I will definitely be going again

My wife & I visited cafe today while we were at the Lakeside retail outlet. Our first time at this cafe. Food was excellent. I had Yorkshire Rarebit, my wife Smashed Avocado. My latte was one of the best I have had - hot & strong. Staff were very pleasant. Service was very quick. Prices are exceptionally reasonable.

Not the best really order food took 40 minutes to arrive and then no drink ,they said it was separate work station the salad was not fresh and jacket over tooled. A further 10 minutes coffee arrived

I had one of the best savory scones here; it had a crispy outside and soft inside with a delicious combination of bacon and red onion flavors that were perfectly blended. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were excellent and polite, making for an all-around enjoyable experience

Fantastic freshly cooked food. Amazing cakes. Brilliant coffee’s. Great staff who are friendly. chatty and always smiling. Recommend visiting any time of the day. They also allow Blue Card discount.
