My experience started badly when I was charged £6.40 for a pint of lager shandy. This is absolutely scandalous. Way overpriced. I then sat at table 9 to order food. The seating was old and dirty and the table was sticky and unhygienic. The whole experience was unpleasant and I will not be coming back.

We booked Sunday lunch and turned up at 3.45 only to be told they had completely run out, we were disappointed but ordered something else. However we were surprised to see people who came in after us being served Sunday lunches. When I questioned this I was told the kitchen had 'found' some more. If this was the case why didn't someone come and tell us so we could change our order.

The food & staff were very good. It was a rugby international day, but we were able to sit in the restaurant area, without being desturbed by the large number of people who were in the bar watching the game.

Came in for dinner and was met by Nisha in the bar, she was very helpful and attentive. Great food.we will be back

We are a regular group of friends who come every week. We hoped that the fantastic work Lyndon and Jane have put in to build up a loyal clientele would be continued.Lyndon and Jane were ever present to make sure all was well with customers as well as being a supportive managers to their staff. Most of the staff seem new too, apart from the excellent Sam. We have yet to see the new manager….we have the feeling that things are changing and not for the better.We remember what it was like yrs ago,….(pre L and J)dodgy people hogging the bar and management who were not on it.The Arches were a no go for us for many years. Please do not run this business into the ground which will happen if the manger doesn’t have a grip.

It was my turn to book our friends get together so as I'd been before chose 3 Arches. Absolutely fabulous food. Great service and a lovely warm friendly atmosphere. Menu choice was vast so definitely be back

Went here on Thursday the 3rd. Lovely atmosphere and service, Very welcoming staff & polite. The place is very cosy and clean They have a dart board too! Which is awesome because I love a game of darts! The food was perfect. I had the hunters chicken which was cooked perfectly. I upgraded to sweet potato fries with the meal they were tasty! The price is great especially with portioning. Parking is great, no issues with accessibility. Big shoutout to Aaron the supervisor he was very helpful with everything Overall would definitely visit again!

I enjoyed my solo visit. I had a few bags as I was travelling and I was glad there was plenty of space for me to carry them in and place at my table. I really loved being able to order and pay from my table on my phone. Food and drinks were good and quick service.

SA & Pedigree didn’t taste great, I tried two of each. (Beer in the Birchgrove is regularly much better) Possibly the lines aren’t cleaned regularly; also the staff aren’t pulling the pints properly; the glass isn’t held against the ‘swan neck’, so the pint isn’t tight with a smooth (Guiness like) head, but foamy like dishwater. Good range of lager, cider & Guiness available. Staff were helpful, speed of serve was very acceptable.

Pub looking very shabby now and not much done to it since major refurbishment more than 12 years ago. Tables, seating, carpets, toilets etc all need refurbishment or replacing with new. Service always closes in bar at 9.45pm every weekday, regardless whether the bar is busy or not, so everyone has to go into the lounge to get served, and usually made to wait quite a while. For a pub that makes loads of profit this is so annoying. Glasses rarely cleared from tables makes the place look unloved.

I only have one negative comment to make. I had curry which was lovely but, the nan bread was hard. Otherwise, everything else was good. Staff behind the bar very friendly and accommodating.

I normally love to come to the three arches but yesterday was a different experience! Was told 45 minute wait for food which we thought was ok and we've been told that before and never normally takes that long. Food took 1 hour and 5 minutes in the end and we had 2 children on the table! x

Popped in today to check on a booking for Saturday and decided to stay for lunch. I was on my own, but it was a very comfortable and pleasant experience and the staff were fabulous.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Food good, staff lovely (when we found them). Horrendously understaffed. Staff there did their utmost but there weren't enough of them.

Starters- only one arrived . Had to go ask where the other one was. Mix up in the order. Had finished the original starter by time it turned up. Mains- 3 festive burgers- all theee burgers didn’t have the pigs in blankets and stuffing. Had to go ask where they were. Waited a further 15 mins for them to arrive Ordering- bill was incorrect. Had to sort out refund / etc Bar - ordering took forever. Due to a Friday night and two staff- one of which was there first day Why have a new person training in a busy weekend night?

Service was good and the deputy manager excellent in ensuring customers were well looked after. Sadly my sirloin steak was not up to standard.

We didn't expect much going in, but wow. The food was amazing, and the cozy vibe was such a bonus. The nachos were a crowd favorite, and even though it was pretty busy, the staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. Big thanks to team.

HORRENDOUS SERVICE AND TERRIBLE FOOD. I don't normally write reviews however! Visited for Sunday lunch 18.11.24 (Order - cg8jr2hkxd). I have used the 3 Arches for many years, as has the family. Not anymore! Shocking food and service. Sat down and asked for the table to be wiped as it was sticky. Waitress vanished and never came back.... Ordered on the app and food arrives quick but with no utensils. We ordered a Beef Roast and Hunters Chicken. Asked for some and waitress never came back (waited around 5 mins) so went on a venture to find some which I did at the waitress station by the kitchen. Then asked another passing waitress for salt, ketchup and mayo. Guess what, never came back. This time knowing the location I got them myself after waiting a few moments. and then to top it off over half way through our meal and the drinks had not arrived. So flagged a waitress from earlier and asked for them. I thought she'd take this opportunity to ask how the food was but didn't (no one did!). In fairness the roast was very good but the hunters chicken was tougher to swallow than an IKEA flat pack table. I was wishing someone had asked as I left more than half on the plate as we walked out - - - - - STILL WITHOUT OUR DRINKS! Avoid! there are many other places on North Cardiff worth your custom.

We recently celebrated a friend’s birthday at the three arches. The food and service were amazing. A massive thank you to Nisha who made our evening so special. We will be back soon!

Visited for the first time last Saturday. Started with drinks outside in the beer garden, then moved indoors for our meal. The setup was amazing, well spaced tables, and the atmosphere was just what we needed to unwind. Food arrived nice n hot.. Especially loved the Sunday roast! One tiny thing, tho-- wish they had a few more veggie options. Overall, we had an amazing time and will surely come back again.

Our friends' night out turned into an absolute blast! Tried a bunch of stuff from the menu, and everything was fab. Service was quick, and we even got help with splitting the bill. Appreciate their patience! 💯 Definitely recommending it to frends. Took my family out here for a casual dinner, and it couldn’t have been better. The kids had a blast in the garden while we chilled with some good food and drinks. Portions were generous, and the steak was cooked just right (rare, as I like it)! Even got a thumbs up from my picky eater—rare win! All around a lovely evening with a lot of smiles. Defintely plan to return next weekend for more memories.

We visited the Three Arches on a Wednesday evening. The curry was delicious and the quiz was great fun! A lovely lady called Nisha looked after us at the bar. Highly recommend a Wednesday evening!

The main course was excellent. Unfortunately, one* of the only two soups on the menu was not available, so we just had the main course. (*Perhaps there's a local shortage of potatoes..or leeks?)

Had 30th birthday party yesterday at the three arches it was amazing just want to thank you to the brilliant barmaid Khushi Jain for you amazing hospitality and your amazing severs you absolutely smashed it considering there was a lot of us u was on your own but you was brilliant you made sure we was all happy and everyone was okay I will be booking future party's here again thank you so much we all had a really grate night

Lovely place, food was lovely, my steak could have been cooked a little more, it was tasty, chips were hot, peas were cold. I enjoyed it though. Child friendly, All on ground floor, disabled parking/toilet, average prices, will definitely return.

Really lovely. Food was hot, fresh and tasty. It was a Monday lunchtime yet very busy. Always a great atmosphere here.

Visited with three grandchildren around 5pm. First off, I ordered drinks for two adults. One person covering both bars and one customer causing a real hold up. Customers sighing at the bar at the wait .... and the wait was long. We ordered food for the children. After a lengthy wait, we were then asked to confirm details of the order. Then, after the first course, we awaited the desserts. Another unnacceptable wait. I hailed the waitress who didn't come over but shouted, "Just five more minutes" clearly aware that it was well overdue. 5 minutes turned out to be 12/15. A previous reviewer referred to the regular absence of a landlord compared to the previous landlords (always a presence) and to excessive pricing. I've patronised this pub for over 25 years, and I have to agree on both points. I can buy the same pint in the city centre for much less, and last week, I was staggered to find a customer next to me pay £6.80 and £6.20 for two "premium" lagers. Ludicrous at a time when pubs are struggling to survive.

We had a really nice meal our food was served with in 15 mins of ordering it was very tasty and hot two of us had the chicken tikka and one had the gammon egg pineapple &chips the portion sizes were generous Molly was very polite all through our service and knowledgeable when asked the desserts that were on offer this evening Molly also checked in with us later to see we had enjoyed our food the whole time we were there she didn't stop all the staff were friendly especially the head bar lady who’s name we look forward to our next visit

A mate and I decided to try it out after hearing good things. Walked in, and the vibe was spot on—dim lights, good music, and a warm feel. Their madras had a good kick, and our server even threw in a drink recommendation that turned out awesome. Honestly felt like they cared about giving us a good time. Will defo recommend to my mates. And yea, will be popping by again soon—no question about it!

Came here for a pint and some food to complete some work for Uni’. I can strongly and reliably say that the food (I recommend the Mac n’ Cheese and adding some cheese to the garlic bread!), drinks (I recommend the neck oil), and the service was excellent. Cannot fault this place at all, will return, and I will recommend this establishment wholeheartedly.

Came back again for a meal with our parents. As always food and service was excellent. Have to give a special mention to Danielle who always goes above and beyond to make customers welcome. Never stops working but always with a smile. Really cares about the customers.

Went to my friend’s baby shower a few weeks ago and after being to an event there before was a bit disappointed. The party started at 1 and there was no one behind the bar to which the host had to go down stairs and chase someone to come up to which the response was ‘we are a bit busy at the moment’. Which isn’t great especially after paying extra to have someone behind the bar from 1pm. So no one came up until 1.30. The food was served 30 mins late. There was no real vegetarian options and the host had said they had agreed for chips to be done, but none ended up being served and we ended with two lots of pork pies. There was also no toilet roll in the toilets especially considering this is a mainly female baby shower! One of the girls had to go down stairs and get some sheets out of the general toilet. The beer taps behind the bar didn't work at first and none had been tested as they 'hadn't had an event in there in weeks'. It just felt like no preparation was done before us entering. I felt sorry for the organiser of the baby shower as she was very apologetic because of it all. The one think I can say is the woman behind the bar was lovely and that’s the only reason for the 2 stars. Seems the previous management where a lot more organised and punctual on our last even here.

Amazing food as usual, me and my friend had a mate date pub was very busy but well handled would recommend the fish and chips and the lasagne :)
