Great cafe amazing food very friendly staff

Superb food with lots of tasty options and amazing friendly staff.

Phil and the team were fantastically helpful, and provided a fabulous spread for our father's wake today. It was wonderful knowing we were in good hands and didn't have to worry about the catering. Everyone complimented the amazing food and it helped make a difficult day a good one!! Thank you all for your kindness and amazing food!

Thoroughbreads provided a packed lunch style of sandwiches for an international meeting which Cambridge Round Table was hosting in Cambridge. From start to finish the customised service was brilliant. Cannot fault the range of fillings for the sandwiches and baguettes which everyone raves about! After a soggy start to the day weather wise having such high quality baguettes was just what was needed. All delivered on time to our location on Jesus Green as requested. Would definitely use again!

Becky would be my first choice every time, she stepped in when I was let down and catered for my son’s wedding the night before she herself went on holiday. Not only that, she did an amazing job. The food looked and tasted fantastic and got as much praise as the bride ! She discussed the menu and catered for all dietary needs and preferences, and presented it so beautifully it is in the wedding video ! Thanks Becky, you’re an absolute star !

I'm a regular customer of Thoroughbreads. The quality of the food is excellent. I recently used their catering services for my daughter's birthday party. Becky and Phil were easy to communicate with, arrived on time on the day of the party and the food was delicious. The guests enjoyed it and everyone was asking about their contact details. Very friendly and good selection of food

We frequently have business lunches delivered and they have been excellent. We usually go for a selection of sandwiches and wraps, a cold buffet selection and tropical fruit. It is beautifully arranged, special dietary requirements are always placed in well labelled separate containers. The food arrives in large plastic containers/platters which we return to them with their next delivery. We recently had them cater for a group of visitors, and needed lunch for 45 people. We opted to go for the lunch boxes/bags rather than the platters, as we were limited on time and space. These were a great hit, and everyone enjoyed them. The friendly delivery drivers take good care to ensure that the presentation is not disturbed. Thoughly recommend using their services. Thank you, and well done to all involved!!

I had the pleasure of meeting the man behind this business today. Phil and his wife and friends came to eat at the place where I work. They were very friendly and Phil was very professional even on a social gathering. They gave positive feedback and also on areas where there could be improvement. Although I've never used the business I can only imagine that from meeting Phil today he is a very professional and motivated person who strives to offer the best in the service that he provides. I look forward to meeting them all again.

We ordered the hog roast baguette, pepperoni prefection pizza and two iced chocolate milkshakes. The food was fantastic and the customer service was outstanding. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!

We hired the Thoroughbreads team for a breakfast corporate event in our office and they did an excellent job. The food was delicious and well presented, and they took care over providing great options for any dietary requirements. The service and delivery was also on time and to a high standard. We look forward to using them again in the future!

I have used Thoroughbreads for a few different reasons now, lunch for myself, pizza for the office and their special valentines cupcakes for my husband and son and so far I have not been disappointed. The food, service and the responses have always been of a very high standard. Will defo recommend :)

No nonsense lunch cafe. Phenomenal. Service always delightful, never seen it run out of anything. Huge queue moves very quickly. Great selection of sandwiches, salads, paninis, cakes, bakes. Usually a bit quieter if you can get there just before 12. Great place. Thank you!

Had a great experience with Thoroughbreads. We ordered tea and coffee urns last minute for a training course happening at the Bradfield centre, from speaking with Phil in the evening before the training we managed to achieve this last minute request, we can’t fault the service and will be back making more orders soon, thank you guys so much

I contacted Throughbreads to help with a last-minute urgent corporate lunch. They were super helpful and provided a delicious assortment of sandwiches, savoury bites and sweet pastries. I would have no hesitation in recommending them and would absolutely use their services again!

We chose thoroughbreads as caterer for our work event with 200 guests. We had a selection of sandwiches, wraps, savory platter and salads. It was delicious and everybody loved it. Ordering process and delivery were also smooth. I'd highly recommend them if you are looking for a caterer for your event!

Unreal gaff ! BEST CAFE in CAMBRIDGE by a mile…. Options of food , the service and the quality of the food even the prices are all 10/10 10000% recommend don’t even waste your time anywhere else . Big up this cafe sublime gaff !

Great food. A tiny bit overpriced, but tastes great

absolute crap! ordered 2 breakfasts @ £9 a pop got charged £19.50.....hows that work? i don't know what they did to that pig but it died twice because that bacon they BOILED NOT FRIED should be a criminal offence .How is it even possible to poach an egg to the extent it has the texture of a brick!!! to add insult to injury when i complained about it i was given a fiver back, so basically i paid £14.50 for half a sausage (even they were bad) and a cheap instant coffee and a P.G frikin tips. In all honesty i got a better breakfast when i was in a young offenders institution 25 years ago. I have never left a trip advisor review in my life but this place is by far the worst breakfast i have experienced in my 42 years on the planet. avoid it at all costs.

I orders sandwiches for a recent meeting, both Vegetarian and regular on a mixture of breads with various fillings of Thoroughbreads choice. They were absolutely delicious, the fillings were excellent and the breads were so soft. The ordering, paying and delivery was seamless. I will definitely use Thoroughbreads again. I just had the best Chicken Tikka Masala ready meal I ever have tasted. Better than most high end Indian restaurants serve and at less than 1/2 the price.

Good place to grab lunch if you're on the Science Park. Does a decent selection of baguettes, sandwiches and paninis/toasties with enough variety to have something different every day if you're in all week. Staff are friendly

Outstanding service, very quick and friendly

Good coffee shop, NOT a barista (they serve via a coffee machine) but it serves the purpose and serves a nice hot coffee. Good food options, vegan options available too. Friendly washroom for the Differently abled as well.

I use this coffee bar regularly. The hygiene is to a very high standard as is the standard of the food. The sandwiches and bacon rolls are great!

Can't beat the apple wood and bacon baguette. A bit pricey though!

I'm writing about the hot chocolate and sausage role because those were what mainly stood out to me, I only have one word to describe them and that is impeccable. The sausage role mainly, it's hard to find one better than the thorough bread's sausage role in the UK (definitely better than Greggs)! The hot chocolate has definitely been thought about and the quality of it. Overall I think Thoroughbreads is one of the best cafes in Cambridge.

Thoroughbreads provided catering for a training day at my firm this week - the food was delivered promptly and was really excellent - the selection of sandwiches was great (we have a variety of dietary requirements and they were all met without question) and the cakes went down a treat! Thank you, and we will certainly be ordering again soon!

Food is immaculate and they offer a variety of options such as meat, vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian. Staff are lovely and all around helpful. Facilities are nice, I've been back everyday since I've first discovered this place, it's that good 👌🏾

Phil catered for a family event of more than 60 people and provided delicious beautifully presented platters of food! Defo recommend if have a function !

Highly disappointed. Ordered a couple of full English breakfasts only to discover everything was reheated in a microwave. Poached eggs in a microwave? How does that work exactly. Ended up with rubbery eggs instead of poached. My colleague asked for burnt bacon as he doesn’t like the fat on them and got crispy bacon as of course a microwave can’t achieve the level of cooking a grill can. Should have taken an empty cafe as a sign. Sandwiches cakes and the rest look fantastic. Maybe taking full English’s of the menu is a good idea??

Absolutely wonderful lunch delivered for 50 people for a corporate event this week! My colleagues were delighted, and we can not recommend Thoroughbreds highly enough. We will definitely be coming back for more! 😋

Really nice food, I get mine every day from the science parks van. The guy running it's super nice, always remembers the one I like and makes sure to bring it each day.

Went in for a veggie breakfast, staff were very polite, brekkie just OK. Best to have a sarnie, I think that's their speciality. We had tea which was okay. Nothing special, not bad either.

Amazing food loads to chose from well worth the price

I booked Thoroughbreds for a charity quiz night - catering for 200 people with individual food boxes. The food boxes were delivered exactly on time and all dietry requirements were catered for. They were absolutely delicious. I had so much feedback during the night from people raving about how good they were. I would not hesitate to use Thoroughbreds again, or to recommend to others.

Just started a new job near to this company and needed lunch for 25 on short notice. The team at Thoroughbreads were amazing and delivered for me. Tasty and fully packed sandwich platters with loads of variety and fillings were amazing and included everything from salmon, egg, ham to falafel and more. Really fresh bread too. Over charged me didn't opoligies and was just generally rude. Will never go back again. Manin there needs to learn some customer service. Food over priced and not enough of it.

Placed an order online for a pizza. The website ordering system was easy to use, even for a custom pizza, (fun guy with anchovies). Discount for collection was welcome too. Shop is easy to find, well signposted and the staff were friendly and service was quick. WILL be going back again. :) Edit 14/04/21: I have been back, and the service and pizzas are still excellent.

I needed 6 cake platters at short notice, this was not a problem for the team, who provided a fabulous service. My customers were over the moon to receive a beautifully displayed cake platter, which tasted fabulous too! I would highly recommend, differently will be using again!

Large order placed in the morning and were happy to deliver at short notiuce. Food was delivered straight to the building and was hot and delicious. Really helpful staff and we all very much enjoyed our lunch! Would highly recommend it.

You have to try the pizza from here, makes a really good change from the usual chain places! Will definitely be going back in the future!
