Pizza Express in Cambridge

Crys looked after us during our meal and he was unbelievably hospitable. He was very fast at attending to our needs and was so so friendly. Loved my meal will come again

Ate here on a Sunday, it was fairly quiet. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Food was ordered quickly and did not have to wait very long before it was served. It was a good experience.

Got a thin vegan pizza. The flavour was good and it would’ve been an excellent pizza but unfortunately it was fairly cold by the time I got it.

Our daughter celebrated her birthday here with her friends. They had a wonderful time - especially learning how to make their own pizzas downstairs with chef Ali. We were looked after well by the manager Danny. We sat upstairs overlooking the grounds of Downing College in good weather.

We had a lot of fun doing the pizza making. It was for a hen do and it was honestly the perfect activity. Included was a glass of Prosecco on arrival, dough balls and olives to start, pizza making, and then our pizza for lunch (which was delicious) Our hen was vegan so they ensured vegan cheese and toppings was provided - and their dough is 100% vegan along with some of the dips for the dough balls :) The cook was good fun and took lots of photos of us. He was also very patient when one of our party members was late. I also thought the value of the activity was great at approx. £29pp (just remember service charge is additional). To make the experience even better, pizza express allowed some of us to store our heavy bags in their office while we went on a scavenger hunt after! Top service and would highly recommend :)

Unfortunately our experience at Pizza Express in Cambridge today fell short of what we expected. The restaurant was busy and the staff were rushing about. Aside from the wait, the pizzas were lukewarm when they arrived, and one of them wasn’t cooked properly, and wasn’t even slightly crispy. The manager didn’t charge us for that pizza and added an additional discount. Better luck next time!

The first order never arrived even though it was marked as delivered. Then I had to re-order again, this time the order was completely cold like it was sitting for over an hour!!! Extremely disappointed

We arrived in Cambridge last Wednesday and went to pizza express in Cambridge. What can I say the food was freshly made & hot and the desserts were amazing! But the man who served us was outstanding, from Madrid, I think he said he was called Chris. He really went above & beyond, very funny, chatty, friendly and absolutely great with our grandson. If I’m ever in Cambridge again we will definitely go back. A real pleasure to meet you. All the staff cooking waved to us when we left. What a great atmosphere! Not like me but forgot to take photos has I was too busy eating! Obviously a great team who work well together.

This is a really great restaurant. I went here with my daughter and her friends for her birthday and we had a super time. The food was great - my Niçoise salad was bursting with fresh and flavourful ingredients and the girls’ pizzas got polished off really fast. It was very busy but we were looked after brilliantly by all the staff and didn’t have to wait at all for our food to arrive. Well done everyone 👏

Amazing delivery, fast, easy, convenient. However, the food was lukewarm. Although, I do understand I live about 15 minutes away. So understandable. Thanks so much, really needed this with how my night was going!!

A lovely late lunch experience- though we could have done with some air conditioning - it was absolutely roasting in there. The service was great- speedy and friendly. The starters were especially great- chicken goujons and bruschetta. Very centrally located.

Slightly slow to come and take the order, but they were busy, and I hadn't booked, so fair enough. I had free dough balls from a previous review, olives and a Club offer side. Nice snacks stuff at lunchtime, with some refreshing Cornish cider. Am finding their drinks overpriced there these days! It's not difficult to spend more than the minimum £10 to make your Club membership offer work!

This was just an amazing amazing experience! I booked the pizza making class at pizza express for a corporate event and we absolutely enjoyed it! The service was impeccable and so friendly! Youssf was an amazing chef and took care of all our needs, he explained every step to us so lovely and definitely contributed to our experience being so lovely! We will definitely be back because of Youssf’s wonderful service

Took an hour to get my starter, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at the time. My daughters pizza came before mine, then I had to ask again for it - it was only a Bruchetta !

Had a pizza making party there for my daughter’s 5th birthday with a dozen loud and excitable kids. Chef Ali guided them through the process wonderfully. The whole team were attentive and contributed to a really fun and memorable occasion. Would thoroughly recommend this branch and party package for anyone looking for a fun and wholesome kids birthday idea.

Staff was rude and unhelpful. Did not deliver a complete order. Would not provide any help with dealing with missing item, which was wine 750ml. Gave excuse that didn’t know but the bad it would have been in weighed little

A lovely welcome from Danny. I asked about gluten free and he talked me through all that was on offer. A great selection. My pizza was delicious. As I remember, just like a "normal" one. We had a lovely table for four just for the two of us in a corner. Service was efficient but we were left alone and not rushed despite it being a busy Friday night. Thanks for a great evening.

The staff Crystopher super friendly and well-understood all dishes on the menu. Let’s feel free to ask recommendations if you don’t know which pizza you’d like to try. I am a big fan of: Calabrese, dough balls and morazella tomatoes. I def. will come back here.

Showing as delivered but we have not recieved our food! Have been working all day and going to be working all night without eating!!! Absolutely disgusted with the service

Most of the pizzas were very good; the meatball one could have been better. A bit too soggy and not enough meatballs. Krys (or Crys) the Spanish waiter was amazing, really charismatic, made everyone feel at ease, and was great with the kids.

I was traveling for business again and fancied a pizza express meal again. As I was staying in HIE in Cambridge I sort out the town centre Pizza Express I first issue was there’s very little parking in central Cambridge and I paid £7.50 for on the street parking approximately 10 minutes away On arrival i was warmly welcomed and quickly seated I ordered an Aperol Spritz followed by Arrancini and Romano Panama Pizza The Arrancini where almost tasteless My pizza arrived lukewarm and the cheese was coagulated The pizza was still edible but had I not been restricted by my 1 hour parking I would have returned it ? Pizza Express can be amongst the best Pizzas you experience out of Milan but this one is average at best I probably won’t bother returning I one bright spot was my waitress who was polite and charming

Delivery was incorrect - then rang 15 times for 15 minutes, no answer and no call back

Food was stone cold. The Pizza Express label showed it was ready at 19:06, the app said the driver was waiting for it - this status stayed the same until around 19:45. He then turned up with cold food at 19:56.

Very good experience. Had a nice time with family members and friends. Food was fresh and kids loved the food as well.

Visited for my birthday over the Easter weekend and it's always lovely at the Cambridge branch, but this particular visit was nicer as our waiter, Chris, was so good. Very fast and efficient at processing the whole order without any problems. Thank you for a nice birthday lunch pizza express.

It seemed a little fraught when I arrived but staff were friendly and I didn't have to wait long. Once seated, the service was just the right speed - prompt but never pushy. The drink was served almost immediately, then the starter and main at good intervals. Both were absolutely delicious, exactly what I'd been looking forward to. Thanks to the Pizza Express app, I saved on the starter and drink, so value for money was also outstanding. Overall, a really nice meal and little treat to myself, thank you!

Not the best Pizza express I have been too. Ambiance a little lacking and service was rather slow. Food very good though.

We love their pizzas, their employees and their location. But we had to wait an hour for our pizzas to arrive. We were told, by our lovely waitress, that the delay was due to the fact that there were so many deliveries to be provided for. Eventually the bill was reduced by 20% in compensation but we can’t help thinking that customers sitting in the building at a table should take precedence over take-outs.

There was an offer for a pizza + soft drink for 9.95. Ordered a pizza and was charged 13 pounds. After the confusion for the price, I asked to get my soft drink, or a refund. I was told it was too late. The pizza was good, but service was lacking because I felt robbed. If there is an offer, please stick to your policy next time

Two hour wait for our food. The restaurant was prioritising deliveroo orders over people eating in the restaurant. Avoid unless you are happy to wait a very long time for your order to arrive.

Great food Delivery should of been between 6.50 pm and 7.10 pm but arrived at 7.58 pm

Friday evening so was surprised to see lots of free tables. Decided to go in, even without a booking. However, when we went entered were told they had so many Deliveroo etc orders the kitchen couldn't handle any more in-house diners. As we've had many good experiences at Pizza Express Cambridge I was disappointed that they were seemingly prioritising delivery customers. Lesson is to book next time, or go elsewhere, as we did. Zizzis, across the road, was very good too.

Thank you for fitting our table in for a reservation at short notice. We were a party of five out for staff outing. We were seated in the upper floor of the restaurant. We had a very attentive waiter named Christopher. He started to sing to us as he poured the wine which put smiles on all at the table and our glasses always full. He recommended a few dishes to us which we enjoyed very much. I just wanted to say what a high level of customer service we received from him. As good service is hard to find these days.

Fantastic! What a pleasant surprise. Popped in and had a fantastic meal and drinks. The staff were really lovely! Christopher was excellent and recommended the most delicious desserts and drinks. Lovely pasta dish Pollo pasta.

Nicely prepared food and good service from Crystofer. Although fudge cake really does need to be warmed. Pizza Express - you can warm chocolate cake in your pizza ovens!

Regent street was a mess, 1 hour wait from starters to mains, missing food items, understaffed which didn’t help

Excellent service and food. Our waitress Charlotte was great and patiently helped us with the app to enable us to take advantage of a discount code there. We will definitely go back next time we visit Cambridge.

We had booked but it was clear when we arrived that the place was in chaos with one of the chefs waiting and a lot of confusion. None of the ambience of other Pizza Express restaurants and there appeared to be a clear focus on takeaway. No criticism of the staff who were clearly overwhelmed. Needs a rethink on strategy and a refurb.

Amazing gluten free pizza at Pizza Express as always Had a rough time finding parking close by but the long wait to find a spot was worth it. Learned a couple of things about the Controlled Parking Zones in the UK . Thanks to a parking inspector nearby I learned that I could park in a single yellow line (Since I was there post 5PM) means no waiting during the time specified either on nearby time plates or on zone entry signs if you are in a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).

I wish I took pictures of the amazing food here. First off, you have to try the dough balls... they have regular with a delicous butter, pesto, one with pizza sauce, or ones with 4 different dipping sauces. I got the American pizza on regular dough and my buddy got a pizza on their new dough and both where amazing! Great sauce, great toppings, and all around great food. The drinks here were mixed well and the service was fantastic This place was sooooooooo good, I had to order from them 2 additional times through uber eats, which deliverer to the hotel room.

We love PizzaExpress in general and have been to this one a couple of times. It's usually quite busy and so it can take a little while to receive the food but it's always worth the wait.

The delivery time was perfect but the pasta is disgusting literally no other words. Not cooked at all and extra cream your can’t test the pesto no red onion or mushrooms I ordered pesto pasta and it’s absolutely 100% different from the restaurant or the last time I ordered they should definitely fire the chef who made it because I’ve been eating polo pesto pasta for the past 10years and this one was disgusting no other words I had to order a burger after that super disappointed was meant to be a

Had a pizza making party for my 7 year old's birthday. We had some last minute changes that meant re-organising the entire event to meet our requirements and the staff were very accommodating per our requests. The party was great, the children all enjoyed themselves (and the food!) and all the staff were wonderful in helping make this happen - particularly Josef who was patient and attentive to a group of overexcited kids.

Popped in after going to the ADC Theatre. Friendly service even though it was getting late, so we had a quick bite: garlicky bread balls (1x regular, 1x gluten-free), a gluten-free pizza, and chicken tenders with a delicious tomato sauce. Delightful.

This was a rare dinner out for our young family of four. We arrived without a booking and were quickly accommodated and offered a high chair. There is a good kids menu which comes with a fun chef's hat, colouring pencils and puzzles, and the service is quick and friendly. Food reliably good and I love the mini dessert + coffee option at the end. Staff were patient with our tired/noisy children as we were faffing about getting ready to leave. Grandaughter's birthday. Spotlessly clean everywhere. All staff were attentive and friendly. Food was superb. There was at least 12 of us, but it was all done with ease.

Don't go - service terrible, food cold, apparently takeaways get kitchen priority, oh yes a manager who is too cowardly to talk with customers who have a compliant.

Worst restaurant experience for a long time. Booked online for 5 pm. Stood waiting from 5 pm for over 10 min along with others before even being acknowledged by a member of staff. Finally got an apology stating they'd been overbooked and there still wasn't a table ready. Finally got a table that was pretty unpleasant next to where staff were making desserts etc with flies around the table but as it was the only choice with hungry kids having waited so long already we took it. Waited a long time for starters then main. Took almost 2 hours to have the kids 3 course which meant we missed the bus we wanted. Even one of the kids asked if we could leave after the starter.Seemed to be a lot of staff but perhaps not enough service staff or general management. Also if you're going to have kitchens/ food preparation visible at least make it look hygienic/ clean. If it wasn't for having Tesco vouchers and hungry kids we wouldn't have hung around. Ruined what was meant to be a nice family treat. Certainly won't be returning!

Good located pizza place in city center with range of choices for people with gluten free requirement. Friendly and responsive staff, which makes you stay pleasant. Crystofer is the most positive and caring waiter I've seen here.
