Nice bakery in the centre of the town, and a great option for some lunch time items. Some items are very reasonably priced, whereas others feel a little steep compared to nearby alternative options, but the quality of everything is good. The black pudding sausage rolls are a particular favourite! The sandwiches have a good amount of filling without causing too much mess and the staff have always been friendly enough. I’ll be returning.

Quite unique choices such as tomato and cheese baguette and mini tarts. And very affordable prices.

Go here most mornings but today a blonde lady that I never usually see there was so rude to me. I will not be going there in future in the morning when she is serving. Never had an issue untill today I’m shocked.

My number one place for them hard to resist treats (sweet and savoury). Freshly made to order sandwiches packed flavour (chicken salad on my last visit) meal deal with a drink - treat for £4.00.

Great food, made the way it’s supposed to be, proper ingredients made properly.

Took the dogs for a walk to Knaresborough today and popped in and bought two coffees and two sausage sandwiches on their meal deal. As it was raining we trudged a mile back to the car to eat them. The coffees were drinkable but we had asked for a sugar in each which had not been added. The sandwiches were a disgrace, 5 of the 6 sausages were black and when you bit into them they just crunched and disintegrated like bits of cinder. Even our dogs would not eat them. How on earth they can get away with selling food which is inedible is beyond me. The same meal deal at Cooplands is 90p cheaper and far, far superior. I suggest they open one in Knaresborough as they would make a killing based on this evidence !!

Lovely food nice and clean .d Downside felt rushed so would have spent a lot more if they let us have more time to look .We asked them to serve others s while looking .only three of us in the shop at the time .Also wouldn’t add a little tomato to a ham roll . Maybe not made on premises.

Great local bakery with a very large selection of breads, sandwiches, pasties and cakes. I travel to knaresborough from Harrogate every week just to get lunch from here!

Fantastic food. My wife and I frequently travel from Newcastle to pick up some of the chocolate orange danishes; a couple of sandwiches and the cheese straws. If you haven’t tried their food I’d highly recommend it.

Just back from York and this is the best bakers ever. Brought back so many different things, think they should open a branch in Edinburgh

What a friendly pair in the Knaresborough branch. The pastries were beautifully light. The black pudding sausage roll was yummy and the baguette made with French flour was wonderful. If you visit Yorkshire be sure to pass by.

The food is lovely and fresh, the customer service is terrible, lady with long grey/ blonde hair has served me the last twice I have been in , she is very matter of fact both times chatting to her colleague with an unrelated topic, took my money no please or thank you , even when I repeated THANKS. The young male staff member was out on the shop floor filling shelves without a mask . Needs attention from Management.

Great for take away food as it's situated on the market square with nearby seating. Food is excellent and cheap. Particularly like their Sausage Wrap and their Yorkshire Curd Tarts. But their bread is good and the cakes excellent. Low prices too.

Just love, love LOVE their mince pies! Best in the land! Go try them!

Excellent bun - cross over between scone and bread - tasty, lovely orange on top. Better than a well known Yorkshire tea room similar product but better in my opinion. Would definitely buy again.

Bread, buns and bacon wraps, they're all here and once you catch the warm aroma of anything fresh out of the oven you're not going anywhere

Try sausage roll and chelsea bun...! Or exdellent various sanwiches, original mix. Pork pie and other pies or tarts, plus yum yums for kids...

My first visit to one of these bakeries and I'll definitely look out for them around the region. I got the deliciously named Fat Scamp, a Yorkshire delicacy often called a Fat Rascal. A gorgeous rich cake with fruit and spices, and a bargain at £1.

Have visited several of these bakeries now, and always impressed by quality of food and tempting range on offer, all at good prices. Yesterdays offering was tea and a sausage bap- what made this work very well was the quality of bread roll, crusty and with some body to it. a 3 minute walk and you can eat your take away savoury or cake on one of the many benches in the castle grounds, overlooking the viaduct- magic

Thomas never lets you down on quality or service with clean modern shops they are a credit to the baking industry.

Best danish pastry's around, the lemon curd on them really makes it the best mixed with the icing, massive fan, not overly keen on the chocolate orange ones they now do but there still OK, Staff I believe are nice and helpful and always polite ,

Delightful traditional 'northern' bakery chain, much akin to Greggs. This wins hands down however, as prices are cheaper- the range is also better! Accepts contactless payments also. Would recommend for the weekly treat to suit sweet/or savoury taste (premium deli products are to die for 😍)

My mother in law declared this the best English food of our trip. While walking around Knaresborough we happened upon this place in the market square. Delicious..I picked up a few "Steak Bake" and brought them back to the hotel. Hot and tasty these meat pies were very good. The staff was courteous. I'd go back every day if it wasn't 4000 miles away!

Living in the south of England now, I really miss the cheap, but good quality bakeries which you get up north. Thomas's has always been a great chain with good quality food at good prices. They're also surprisingly modern and you can pay with contactless. Can't go wrong.

Visited for sandwiches at lunchtime. My husband was satisfied with his, but as they had egg and prawn sandwiches on offer, I asked if it was possible to have prawn without egg - No! Oh, okay, thanks, I went elsewhere. The staff were pleasant enough, but not quite obliging. Oh well!

Although part of a chain, the products (especially the bread) do not have either a mass-produced look or taste to them. Really highly recommended by someone who is fussy about bread.

Absolutely crowded at lunch time but worth the wait. A whole range of all the delightful commodities you'd expect and all top notch.

Visited Thomas the Bakers in Knaresborough as they have a great choice of pies and pastries. As it was a cold day we had one that was lovely and hot to take away. Great service and the food tasted great. Always enjoyed food from here as its always freshly made. Right in the centre of Knaresborough so easy to find.
