Went the today with a friend for Sunday lunch, I had pork, she had beef. Absolutely lovely roast, and fabulous service would highly recommend.

From the minute we walked through the door, the attention and service was impeccable. Front of house staff very friendly and knowledgeable of both the food and drinks menu. Service was efficient, timely, not rushed, or kept waiting too long. Cocktails were presented beautifully and tasted fab. All of the food was delicious, we each had 3 courses, all different choices and presentation 5*. Varied selection of wines to suit all tastes. Ambience was very welcoming & comfortable. We had been recommended to try and certainly forward that sentiment to others. Absolutely the best.

Wow. Welcomed so warmly and sincerely. Great food, service in comfortable and unpretentious surroundings - but with a quality feel. Amazing food! This is a hard one because, the Sunday lunch is one of the best around and I would definitely return for that. However, I have been twice now mid week and it was quiet, has a strange ambiance, was very cold in fact, everyone was sitting in their coats. The food is tasty but, the portion sizes are very very small. I left hungry on both occasions. They are trying to be fine dining but the environment, furniture, crockery does not live up to that so I think it’s struggling to find its identity.

Absolutely fabulous food, atmosphere and service. We tried this gem of a restaurant on a Wednesday night for the first time and had a wonderful meal - the food is exquisite and the service perfect. We will certainly be back and will recommend to others.

Some of the best food I have ever eaten but the atmosphere is just weird. Fine dining style food at near fine dining prices but served on ikea crockery and glassware, with self printed and wrinkled a4 paper menus, paper napkins, really bright lights, plastic decorations and almost radio music or a Spotify greatest hits playlist as background music. A very odd restaurant serving some of the best food I’ve eaten in a truly strange environment. From the toilet to the service ware it felt like a cafe you’d go to for a good BLT at lunchtime. Fine dining style / smart restaurants even if it is aimed as being effortlessly casual is as much about the environment as it is the food being served. Overall totally missed the mark and in desperate need of a hospitality consultant or an interior designer to put some polish on what could otherwise be a fantastic restaurant. Would love to try more of the food but as an evening dinner spot, particularly being in an isolated part of town, the restaurant as a whole wouldn’t pull me back in current design.

Must say this restaurant is an absolute gem and the food to die for, went with 5 friends and all very blown away by the food ! I had the 12hour slow cooked beef filet with beef cheeks absolutely melted in the mouth and the smoked mash was a complete revelation, with just the right amount of smokiness. Front of house were attentive without being overbearing and very friendly and happy to discuss any dish. Sadly I think, this deservedly so will become very popular and fear we may have trouble making our next booking !!!!! wish I had taken some pics !! A new jewel in Plymouths Crown

Wow - what can I say what an amazing place. The customer service was second to none but my gosh the food!! We eat at a lot of fine fining restaurants with Michelin stars and acalades but I have to say the experience at Thirty One was definitely up there holding its own with the best. Yes some items could be considered expensive BUT you get what you pay for and that equates to phenomenal food. We ordered different cuts of beef and were blown away, honestly I don’t recall having better fillet anywhere. The flavour profiles are incredible and there is real attention to detail. You can tell this chef loves to cook. We will be back for more. Cannot recommend this place enough. Get in now before you have to wait months for a reservation, you won’t regret it

Me and my partner went to ThirtyOne for a Sunday treat for his birthday and my god did it not disappoint!! The roast was the best roast we have ever had. It was a beautiful fine dining experience with big portions! We ended up having 3 courses as the food was too delicious not to try! Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Fantastic restaurant we had two persons not show which it does clearly state when booking there will be a charge for no shows and I find this to totally reasonable, food was lovely lovely and the customer service was second to none

Not an area of Plymouth where you would expect such a wonderful dining experience. The decor is lovely, service is excellent and the food outstanding. Went for Sunday roast and probably the best I can remember for many years.

Top quality roast, the belly pork was superb, as was the braised pork in the massive Yorkshire pud. Excellent selection of deliciously prepared fresh veg, loads of roasties, lovely gravy, what more could you want! My daughter had the beef and it was such a generous portion she had a second roast for her dinner. Service was efficient and friendly and the place has a nice relaxed feel. We will definitely return and are looking forward to trying their regular menu.

I was delighted to hear that Thirty One was opening in the previous premises of Rock Salt. It is a lovely small, relaxed venue and the warm welcome we received when we arrived was the perfect start to a great evening. The menu was a good mix, of great produce and flavoursome courses. We struggled to choose as we liked all the choices and especially delighted to see fish featured. The dishes we had were presented beautifully and well flavoured. The wee amuse bouche were amazing and I would highly recommend the Indian spiced Hake. We would like to thank the lovely front of house team, the service was faultless. It was nice to see the restaurant busy as Thirty One deserves to flourish. If you enjoy fine wine, cocktails and lovely food and maybe pay a bit more for that experience. Check out Thirty One

Keen to try this new kid on the block! Booked a few days ahead for 4 but due to last minute changes in our work schedule, only arrived with 2. Thursday night, prime time, only one other table dining!? Menu looked great, concise, seasonal, focusing on local availability. Ordered and the food arrived. Well presented, not wow but a solid good; flavours, very good. Really enjoyed the meal. Got the bill and was given an additional bill for 2 x 'no shows'; no prior warning. Surprised? Yes!!! And yes, it was pointed out that there was an item in the booking t&c's, but, hand on heart, I did not read this when I made the booking on the app on my phone! The draconian interpretation of "reserve the right to charge for 'no' shows" frankly does not induce me to make another commitment! Whilst I appreciate the restaurant's has a difficult task in catering for the number of punters who turn up on the night, the hospitality industry doesn't usually work on 'exact' numbers. I have never experienced this before and suggest that it is not the best way to 'win friends & influence people'. It is an unfortunate reflection that I have spent more time talking about the booking conditions than the food. Regrettably, I probably will not be back.
