Thia garden cafe in Rotherham

Normally have no problems with this place. Made an order at 6pm on line for 815 delivery. Received an email at 8pm saying a problem with the order and to call, no answer on phone so we are now left without any meal!!!!

No cashew nuts in the pork and cashew nut dish. Tasteless boiled rice, with a scrambled egg mixed, no way was it friend. No seasoning. Prawns tasted very fishy and strong, the prawn toast looked like it had been left on the side for a week and the appetisers were all frozen. £38 order, £37 went in the bin. It’s terrible and I’m disgusted.

First time I’ve ordered from these but know friends who have and recommended this place to us. I ordered the food via the website for 5.30 for collection and they had it ready literally as I walked in. I also received 2 free beers. We shared 3 starters, 4 mains plus a rice between 2 adults, a 14 year old and an 11 year old. Portions were good size and TBH, too much food for us. Really nice & fresh. Our favourites were the Thai Red Curry and the chicken fried rice. Would definitely recommend it. My only minor grumble was I had asked for the Thai red curry to be mild and it was still too hot for the kids but they still ate it. If that was mild, then the hot must be really hot!! Enjoy!!

After reading the reviews we was a bit unsure whether to try and my god glad we did . Last Saturday we ordered loads of dishes ranging from red curry to massaman curry to 2 different pad thai and kids meal and loads of sides and prawn rice and all sorts for my daughters 21st. It was insane !! It came hot and super tasty and the delivery driver was lovely and friendly.we got cream eggs as a present. We had a mix up of the kids meal when I said the 5 pieces we got sent 5 meals. The driver told me the bill and I thought it was very expensive till we opened the bags and realised .they sent the difference of the 21 pound back on the next delivery about an hour later which I really didn't expect. I'm so glad we tried this place and we are ordering again this week. I never woke up with a Chinese hangover (as i call it) either which I do from all the salt . We love this place and they have a new set of customers now .thankyou thai garden !

Thai Garden Wickersley. Avoid this place at all costs, I eat Thai food regularly and this is far from anything I’d expect. The vegetables were either stale, hard or just old. Sauce tasted nothing like I’d expect from a Thai takeaway. Don’t waste your money, go elsewhere

My birthday meal arrived on time, shown to our table, it was very busy but the young Thai lady was friendly with a lovely Thai smile. We ordered drink, no delay, and then took our order. Food was good, I’m not a lover of Thai food if I’m totally honest but none of the group of 7 had any complaints at all. Yes they were very busy with take out but you have to understand that their core business is take away and the majority of diners were only there because of dine out to help out. I hope this puts a more balanced and fair review on last night.

I had my birthday meal at the place and was so utterly disappointed. Upon arrival I noticed all the seating area was worn out and overall the place looks uninviting and a bit grubby, there was also so many flies in the cafe. We weren’t even greeted with a smile and they just couldn’t be bothered in helping us to sit together, it was as if we were an hindrance to them and a nuisance, I knew then I was not going to enjoy my night. We had to ask for a drink as to which we asked for a bottle of merlot to be told there wasn’t any. The starters came within half an hour and were bog basic like they’d come out of a freezer bag and thrown on the plate, we then had an hour and half wait for the main course whilst we watched them cooking loads of food for just eat delivery service and also people calling in for a take away! Not once were we asked if were we ok and did we want another drink! To top it off the door was wide open and we were all very cold, we asked if we could close the door as we were cold and the girl rudely said no due to Covid (by the way there was no one else in the restaurant apart from us) We complained at this point and asked how long the food would be, they did start bringing out the food once they knew we were all getting angry, once the food arrived it was ok (nothing amazing, we’ve had a lot better) then the bill came, wow, let me tell you this was a very expensive meal in a run down cafe, we did complain and they took off the price of my meal, we will never ever be going again!

Booked a party meal well in advance for my friends birthday . We arrived at just after 7 pm we asked for a drink and specifically asked for some ice to be told I will have to take glasses back and add ice 🧊 why not put ice in a extra glass or ask if we wanted ice ?? The waiting time for the food was ridiculous , they was more interested in getting takeout sorted . The main front door was wide open due to covid I get that ,but it was freezing . Ordered food online at 6.40 pm to be delivered at 7.30 pm . When there was no delivery at 8.30 I phoned the shop to be told my order was out with the delivery driver and would be with me shortly . At 9.00 pm there was still no delivery . Phoned the shop several times with no answer, so used a different phone which was answered straight away by the same person I spoke to at 8.30 who went on to tell me they were having trouble with kitchen equipment and my order could not be completed . If this was the case why was my order taken in the first place ? Why was I lied to about my order ? As a regular customer and supporter of this business since it opened sadly I will not be spending my hard earned cash here again .

Ordered over £60 worth of food, didn't receive free beers, didn't receive children's ice cream. There was a suspicious smell to my chicken and green/blue looking mould on it too. Phoned up to complain, told me to do it through the Facebook page. I have been completely ignored on several occasions. I had an upset stomach after eating the meal. Everyone else's was fine, this is such a shame as this resteraunt used to be excellent.

So I see on this page the cafe is advertised as offering Vegan and Vegetarian Options. So when I recently visited I asked what was available for a Vegan option and was told nothing!!!! I was then told that virtually all of the Vegetarian options contained Meat Stock? Also the ingredients for the curry dishes, such as the Thai Red and Green Curry pastes all contain fish. I was told that apparently most customers who are Vegetarian don't mind this, well I guess they are not Vegetarian then, and I have previously have eaten the veggie choices before albeit a couple of years ago, but was told that there were no animal products or ingredients in those dishes,which must have false information and I am shocked at that. I have always thought that the food at this cafe is fresh and tasty but I do feel as though I have been lied to. So unless the information is changed on the menus or the dishes don't include those ' animal and fish based' ingredients am sure they should not be classed as Vegetarian. Although there was one Vegan choice and yes I did have it, but after a bit of a battle when initially I was told there was nothing available. DO NOT ADVERTISE VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN OPTIONS if they are not the real deal.!!!!!!! Please don't advertise something that is not what it says it is. If people are strict vegetarian or vegan then please check this thoroughly, check the ingredients and don't just assume. As for the Cafe, think this is something that would really benefit from being rectified. I can honestly say I was shocked at how the assumed that a bit of fish paste or animal stock was ok to add into a veggie and vegan food dish and claim that option!!!. Definitely the thumbs down. Went for a quick bite to eat and opted to try here other than the other fast food options at the retail park and thought the menu choices and lunch menu choices were great and amazing prices.My other half has spent time in Thailand and has always said he's never had as nice Thai food over here as he did in Thailand but yesterday the dish he had he said was just as nice as the dishes he had in Thailand so to have somewhere on our doorstep that can provide that is amazing.
