Came here for a business meeting, so didn't actually pay for the refreshments. Fantastic views at lunchtime, as far as Wembley Stadium.

Very expensive but good food and service. A great view of London to see the skyline. Music was relaxed and the people a good crowd.

It is impressive, if you don't mind the entry fee. Glad we did it, we've ticked the box and the view is impressive- the champagne was lovely too. Make sure you use the loo whilst up there, you are in for a treat!

We recently visited The View for dinner for their six course tasting menu. I have nothing but good things to say here. The view definitely exceeded expectations, the food was excellent, and the service was really good. We loved it.The Food We started off with Mojito spheres for our aperitif, followed by a tasty starter of goats cheese and beetroot, with beetroot spheres and jam. The next course was foie gras (sorry – but vegetarian alternatives are available if you prefer not to eat meat / the moral high ground), which was served with cherry and popping candy. Yes, you read that correctly, popping candy. And a tuile - which sounds insane, but tasted amazing. Our fish course was a delicate fillet of rainbow trout served with pickled cucumber caviar (little balls to the layman) and horseradish. For the main course we opted for the beef fillet with truffle purée, baby veg and a crispy potato rosti. The beef was perfectly cooked, melting in the mouth.Pudding was hard to choose - there were two options, a chocolate marquis or something called a Chocolate Extravaganza. As there were two of us, we decided to get one of each and share. The chocolate marquis was the delicious, really chocolatey – utter heaven. The chocolate extravaganza was beautiful to look at and absolutely delicious as well - a selection of fruit and cream, served with a white chocolate and passion fruit ganache. I’d never really liked white chocolate before, but this was exceptionally good. You can opt to have wine paired with your menu if you like; however we decided against that, but it did seem like a good selection of wine was offered, based on people either side of this and what they were having. And individual glasses / bottles are very reasonably priced for Central London indeed. The views were amazing. You can see all the way from Wembley on one side, right way round to South London on the other. We sat at a table with gorgeous views across the river and the Houses of Parliament and the city of London. It was stunning, and it only got better as darkness fell, and the lights began to twinkle in the night sky.The service we received was very good; our waitress was extremely attentive, yet unobtrusive. You never need to ask anything, it just materialised - as she did - as required. The overall standard of the food was incredibly high. I felt like I’d wandered into an episode of the Masterchef final by mistake. One thing I will say, they are keen on spheres - or balls - to go with most things, but this all works very well and tastes absolutely great. I would love to go back, and I’m trying to persuade my partner that he needs to take me again as soon as possible.Where there any drawbacks? Not concerning The View restaurant, the views, the food and drink, the service - No. Not one. However, at the end of our meal we were offered a glass of champagne to finish things off. We could have stayed in The View restaurant and sat in the bar to have this, but we were encouraged to move down one floor, to another bar instead, because we wanted coffee. Frankly, I think you’re better off staying in The View restaurant bar for your final drink, and skipping the coffee option. The bar downstairs, well it was okay - it was fine, it just burst our bubble after such a lovely high-end dining experience. The views across London were the same, but it’s a burger joint. It seemed to baffle the bar staff that we had been sent to downstairs for our glass of champagne and a coffee, and took them quite some time to get this organised. Once we got over that challenge, it was okay. We also enjoyed a good espresso martini as well, but again, getting this was slightly painful. So, there was nothing really wrong with the downstairs burger bar, but after such amazing food, wine and service upstairs in The View restaurant, it was a bit of a disappointment.

The Royal Albert Hall atmosphere was stunning. The high tea at Coda was excellent. Our server, Raz, was knowledgeable, efficient and kind. Huge advantage; to-go boxes for our sweet surplus.

I went for birthday afternoon tea expecting a delicious tea. What did I get A luke warm cup of weak tea. Complained they brought a different blend Still luke warm if that was possible. As to the food very poor 4 finger sandwiches each which in fairness were average. Waited an hour and finally were offered scones. Not warm, cold, with indifferent jam and cream Then 3 cakes , also average and by this time we had to leave as only allocated 2 hours. Altogether a poor experience and not to repeat

We recently stayed at the Rubens at the Palace Hotel and it was such a pleasure. From the cleaning staff, front desk, concierge, doorman, and all of the personnel in the restaurants and bars, every single person was very polite very helpful and very accommodating throughout the 10 days that we stayed there. Each evening after we returned from our daily activities, we were greeted like family. Soroosh was waiting in the restaurant eager to get us beverages and any late snacks we might want, even near closing time. I would highly recommend staying here not only because of the great location but mostly because of the great people you will meet there.
