We’re local but not regulars as we’re consistently disappointed when we return, ever hopeful it’s got better. We booked dinner a weeknight in January - it had been 10 years to the day since hubby and I had our first date there so we were keen to mark the occasion. When we booked it, the girl was so lovely about our anniversary, I was excited to share as we’d also got married at the sister venue, the Waterside. That’s where the good service ended…on the night when we arrived we were left standing with no acknowledgment despite two staff behind the bar right in front of us - a simple “someone will be with you shortly” would’ve been kind. The service was pretty poor and we didn’t get a smile out of any of them. It seemed to be a young guy in charge, dressed all in black, long nails. Looked the part but seemed miserable…food was very average and disappointing. We’d got a taxi down to enjoy a few celebratory drinks but the atmosphere just wasn’t there so we were up and out in just over an hour to celebrate back home. Just plain disappointing and won’t be back anytime soon 🤷🏼‍♀️

Went for lunch today, found the service appalling. Waited over 5 minutes to be acknowledged and seated at a table. Initially ordered drinks and then our meals. Waited over 25 minutes and never received our drinks or starters. Spoke with staff who apologised for the delay and said they would get our drinks, which again we never received. Awful service, we eventually left without receiving anything! We will not be returning!

Such a shame how bad the food was at this place as the spa and the facilities are lovely! From reading the hundreds of bad reviews it seems the general consensus is that the food is terrible. We got the steak pie which had soggy pasty, chewy beef and watery tasteless gravy. We also had the buttermilk chicken which was overdone and inedible. It’s really a shame as this place has great potential. The food put a damper on what was a great day in the spa, very disappointed and dissatisfied! With the price of £20 for a pie you’d expect something decent but I’ve had better pies at the football! Service was also not the best.

Using a retirement voucher and had an early evening dinner. Decor lovely, staff very pleasant. Pity the food doesn’t match. Couldn’t eat the batter on the butter chicken as it was brick hard, onion rings hard , chips tasteless and again overcooked. Steak pie - top layer of steak was burnt and inedible. Starter bread was tasty. Took far too long to be served despite being almost empty. We mentioned to the waitress about our food and we were only charged for drinks and bread. Whilst this is a great gesture, our evening was ruined. Not be back any time soon. Such a shame as it has the potential to be excellent.

On arrival we tried to charge our Electric Car via the chargers onsite but couldn't get close enough to the charger to use it because of the 100mm bump stops. Food was terrible and the service was incredibly slow despite it not being busy. The servers were not very pleasant. Both my husband & I ordered the same Chicken, Haggis & Broccoli with Peppercorn Sauce. The Chicken was bone dry, and the Haggis was greasy and chewy. The Broccoli was so overcooked that you could not cut through it as it was rubbery. The peppercorn sauce was runny and tasteless. We both didn't eat our meals as they were both inedible. Complained to the server when we asked for the bill, who said she would pass it on her Manager. Went to the bar to pay and mentioned to the the chap behind the bar about our meal. He called over the Manager who advised us that the server had not passed on our comment. She apologised profusely and promptly removed the Main Course charges from our bill. Overall not a good experience, so needless to say we won't be back..

Went for the 2 meals for £19 menu. Food was excellent but very slow service. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived. Servers were very pleasant but they seemed more interested in their regular customers. Waited an eternity for drinks, first, second and third...

Was here for a 50th birthday celebration and as it was going to finish late, stayed overnight in the hotel.

Had a beautiful meal and service was excellent, Chelsey and Courtney were attentive, pleasant and made the day enjoyable.

Stayed here through business for three nights. The reception staff were friendly and polite. The rooms were sufficiently sized and modern. The bathroom could possible do with an update. I personally found the shower control difficult to turn off and anyone with dexterity problems would too.. The bed was comfortable and the room temperature easy to control. Would recommend this hotel and would stay again. The breakfast had plenty choice and was good. Once again the staff were very pleasant.

Mum and I decided to try The Gailes after I got an email with lunch time prices for 2 or 3 courses which looked very reasonable. Quite a few choices on it then we ended up going for the omelette from the main menu which was lovely. Of course we had to try dessert, lemon meringue pie (served hot or cold) and lemon meringue cheesecake.Waitresses were all very friendly and although it's a bit out of the town it's well worth making the effort to go to.

Recently went here with partner after friends recommending it to us we were not disappointed food was lovely and the ambiance was just right had the beef fajitas best I've ever had big thank you to Nicola for a seamless service also to the manager Glenn who greeted us with a lovely warm welcome all in all a fabulous time and look forward to returning soon and

After a hectic week we decided to treat ourselves to dinner at Gailes restaurant today worst decision ever.We were given only choice of set new year's lunch menu 5pm we chose 3 soups 1 pate roasted pepper and tomato soup was so bitter it was completely inedible. The pate was a bit better although served with wafer thin tasteless crackers.Main courses 2 steak pie 1 salmon 1 chicken with black pudding bon bons.Steak pie ok mash was like water veg like mush. Chicken arrived minus black pudding which was offered to be brought to table once meal was finished.Desert sticky toffee pudding thought couldn't go wrong until cutting 1 bit and being met face to face with black dangling hair in sponge my husband had cheeseboard 3 measley cheese triangles on the aforementioned tasteless crackers not even a bit of butter. The staff were nice and rather than £25.95 per head Which should have been £104 we were charged £80 we have all came home hungry and extremely disappointed was even more disappointed to realise the table across from us got to choose from 2 different menus shocking all round if kitchen staff didn't want to work or make any effort for people paying so much the restaurant shouldn't be open

Went here for xmas night out. Overall it was a good nite but certain aspects let it down. I had the pate to start and it was the worst pate i have ever tasted it was tasteless. However the salmon main and cheesecake dessert were very good. The singers and dj were good although i found the place over crowded too many people packed into a small place. It was a good nite but i would not recommend the pate.

Attended a Xmas party night on Saturday 1st December 2018 and I am very hard to please always something annoys me whether it’s dinner, or music. Well after attending that evening I am a changed man. Worth every penny. Fantastic entertainment movie theme night recommended and great food and not to mention staff were super friendly and worked there socks off. Highly recommended you want be disappointed. Well done to the Gailes our family party of 6 loved it.

Excellent quality and quantity. Be careful the starters are the size of main meal elsewhere so you can imagine the amount you get in a main meal. The Cullen Skink is the best I've ever had.

Our daughters wedding was held here in September. From the first meeting, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and supportive. It was Harry Potter themed, so lots of extra work to set up from staff( thanks Amy and team!).Five star service throughout, from cleaners, bar staff, waiters to organisers! Everything was perfect! Couldn’t have asked for more! Special mention for Emma, Amy and Dennie! Thankyou so much ladies!

Nice service. Menu varied and good for lunch. We shared two starters, fishcakes and haggis fritters. Fishcakes excellent, fritters a bit doughy and soft for a fritter. We didn’t need anything else, decent portions.

Went to the Gailes today, the food was magnificent and the service was even better especially to our server Lorraine she was a star, super helpful and friendly.

We stayed as part of a wedding in the venue. The whole wedding from start to finish was brilliant, could mot fault the venue, food or staff at all.Unfortunately the room walls seem to be very thin and we were disturbed right through the night by the room next door. Make no mistake, it was no huge party but instead a number of wedding guests having a drink and chat after the event. Every noise above a quiet chat spilled through.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a friends wedding. Managed to get early access to our room to decorate it before the bride came. Check in staff were very friendly & helpful. Rooms are modern & have all amenities as you'd expect. There was however only one bottle of water to go between 3 of us. We used the restaurant for dinner & cocktails & everyone seemed to enjoy it! Massive portions! The next day we had sparkling brunch & it was well presented & tasty.The wedding ran smoothly and staff couldn't do enough to help. Massive praise to the coordinator Emma - she worked tirelessly to cater for everyone's needs, friendly & professionally. She's a huge asset to the Gailes. Breakfast the next morning wasn't the best... It was busy, but we waited over 15 minutes for any staff to acknowledge us & watched multiple tables get served before us, having arrived after us. There was a shortage of white bread & the kitchen ran out of beans. Staff were very apologetic - but this doesn't rectify being ill prepared for the guests on a hungover Sunday morning. Overall I had a very good stay & had breakfast been on point I'd probably have gave 5 stars. Would return to The Gailes.

I've stayed at this hotel a dozen or so times over the last few years and will even go so far as to change the dates of my job in the area if the hotel was booked out.I've always found the staff to be friendly and well trained, the service to be very good and the food to be excellent.I'm due back in the area for work in Decmeber and will definitely be looking to book in here.

We are getting married here next month and have visited the restaurant on a number of occasions. I honestly can’t fault it! We didn’t book because it was a Wednesday and were seated quickly. The waitress was prompt with menus and drinks. The meal selection is brilliant and the food quality is also brilliant. Tried multiple dishes over the last few years and have loved every one.

From the very warm welcome we received at the reception on our arrival we could not fault any member of staff that we came across. The room was spacious, spotless warm and the bed was so cosy and large that I didn't really want to get up but I was delighted that I did. The full Scottish breakfast though there are lots of other choices was absolutely delicious and our evening meals wonderful with lots of great items to choose from. A wonderful bar and restaurant with comfortable seats and a fire to drink the best Hot Chocolate I have ever tasted real cream no squirty stuff by.Would definitely recommend it for a meal, drinks and certainly an overnight stay. Crazy to stay anywhere else

Had lunch in The Gailes restaurant and my husband and I both agreed it was the nicest lunch we’ve had in a long time!! Hadn’t been before but was recommended by a friend! Will definitely be back! Service was first class, staff very friendly. Food was amazing, very fresh and piping hot. Loved it!

My husband & I stopped for breakfast. Simple order. Bacon roll & coffee and sausage roll & tea. 1 glass of water.1) remember who ordered what 2) remember to ask if customers would like sauce3) give more sachets of sugar, customers should be allowed to decide how much sugar (and what colour) they would like4) remember to bring the full order 5) enquire as to whether everything is ok6) don't say "hi guys"7) don't overcharge

Popped in for a quick bite to eat and ended up full blown 3 courses. Good good and plenty on the plate and served up bang on. Staff were very efficient and enjoyed the fact we were not getting rushed here unlike sister place The old Loans. Cracking place for a meal and we will certainly be back to try other dishes. Loved my cheesecake only minor moan base not thick enough but hardly world ending. Well done all concerned bang on place for a good nose bag ( Food )

Enjoyed my two night stay in this hotel very well. Everything was spotless, food excellent & staff friendly. All in all, would definitely stay here again.

Had my wedding at the Gailes and from start to finish couldn't have asked for more. The staff were superb:the waiters, the bar staff, the cleaning staff, the reception staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and informative. That wasn't just the feedback from me and my partner but the feedback from the rest of the guests too.The rooms were extremely clean and had a modern but rustic feel to them. Our suite was fantastic. The jacuzzi is a dream and the bed was extremely comfortable. The food was maybe the best I've had anywhere. I'm not exaggerating that either. I'm including a lot of top restaurants in this. It might be the best I've had. Everyone else said the same so hats off to the chef and the rest of the kitchen team. Would also like to say a warm thank you to Claire our co-ordinator and Emma. Our wedding ran as smooth as it could be. Everything was perfect. So would highly recommend using the Gailes as a venue. The grounds are beautiful. Only thing I would say is the drinks are pricey. But considering everything else I've said it's absolute value for money. One of the best stays me and my wife have had at a hotel if you exclude the major fact we were married there. My wife and I were looking for somewhere nice for lunch at short notice while out for a drive on a lovely sunny day and called into The Gailes Restaurant.The Service by Natalie was like the food EXCEPTIONALWe will certainly be visiting the Gailes Restaurant again soon

We have been going to The Gailes for several years, in fact one of our daughters was married there. On this occasion we went for dinner with a business partner from Derby, who was staying at the hotel and he had booked a table.When we walked in there was a little confusion as to whether we had a table booked or not, but we were offered one. Now let me say the food was fine, but not standard we have been presented with in the past, service was just OK, but there was something not right, but I couldn't think what. Next day it came to me, the staff were just doing there job, no real enthusiasm or effort was being put in, not like all our previous visits. Why this should be I have no idea but thi sis reason for only 3 Stars

Just had lunch at the Gailes Hotel, lovely setting and all the staff are friendly including our server Erin who is a wee cheery Rae of sunshine.

I and my family have eaten here several times over the last month.The food is served beautifully and looks so tempting you just want to dive in!The house made burger is to die for...and unless you have a HUGE appetite don't order the most fantastic Mint Chocolate ice dessert..I adore both mint and chocolate and could only manage half...It is the biggest dessert I think I have ever seen..very,very yummy..

I Had hoped to get the finest Scottish beef, unfortunately cooking a steak in the oven does not work and invariably gets over done i ordered rare and got well done, Salmon looked good. nice surroundings but in my case food a massive let down.

As a wheelchair users I dread going to different places to eat, as table lay out and uncaring staff can be an issue. Also we often have my four year old grandson with us which also has us worrying about patience of the staff as he likes to blether at times.At Gailes no worries staff welcomed us with a smile and showed us efficiently to a table discretely removing a chair for me to get my wheelchair in. She chatted to my grandson helping get him settled opposite myself and beside my husband. The member of staff went off to get allergy information as my grandson has some food allergy and has to carry epipens. She returned to inform us only two items on the children's menu were unsuitable. (Fantastic !!) Another tick.service was great throughout the visit and all staff who came in contact with us were friendly, efficient and made you feel welcome.

Stayed at The Gailes Hotel as we were attending a friends wedding. Couldn’t fault the hotel. Staff were so friendly and attentive. Bedrooms were comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was outstanding, topped off a fabulous break and wedding.

Bra mat, dålig service. Trots förhandsbokning, så var det näst intill omöjligt att kunna sitta ute på baksidan av hotellet. Efter en lång discussion gick det dock ändå. Då hade den positive känslan för en trevlig upplevelse lagt sig.

Quick and polite check in, Receptionist very warm and friendly. Spacious and spotlessly clean bedroom and bathroom. All staff very friendly and cheery. Food was delicious and excellent service

My husband and I had the great pleasure of attending a wedding and staying over on Saturday.What an amazing venue for a wedding. The room the ceremony was held in was lovely and the air conditioning made it very pleasant on an extremley warm day.All the staff were so helpful, from allowing us to book in early prior to the wedding. Food was delightful.The room was amazing. The bed was huge and very very comfy. We had a lovely view to the golf course.Breakfast was superb. All extremley fresh and tasty.Overall a fantastic hotel that we intend to visit again

Went here for a light bite on Bank Holiday Monday . Service was fantastic really friendly food was excellent what more could you want

Both my husband and myself are senior citizens and both have serious health conditions. Through no fault of anyone the power went off in both Loans and Troon just before we arrived. When the power eventually came back on, Gales Lodge stepped in and saved the day.We chose to drive there as we wanted a drink with our dinner. All the rooms were on one level and my husband, who can't step over a bath into the shower, was given a low bath with good, sturdy poles to grip. We had no problem whatsoever.We were very late for dinner because of the power cuts. It didn't matter to the staff at Gailes Lodge. I had been ill and only started eating again about four weeks ago. I wanted two small plates. The second one wasn't on the menu but I was given it. The Restaurant Manager, Mary C could not do enough for us.I have a sore back and can only sit comfortably in a chair with a sloping back. I was given one and the same happened at breakfast. When do these girls ever sleep? I could not criticise the hotel in any way. There is also a leisure complex and pool which means that if we want to have a family weekend with our son, daughter in law and grandchildrenan, we can do so.Everything in the hotel works properly. It is spotless. The service is second to none. Even in the morning when we woke very late and couldn't get the shower off, my husband just had to step out of the room and a member of the housekeeping staff did it immediately. We live on the isle of Arran. While on the mainland we will now never stay anywhere but Gailes lodge.That really says it all.

I purchased a deal on itison for £89 B&B.. the rooms were lovely and cosy but instead of air con they had a multifunctional heater.. spot on . Our deal consisted of a set menu but we were offered.the option of choosing from the main menu and receive £15pp off the bill. The food was grand and I was stuffed half way through but it was so nice.i powered on. The final bill was £37 inc. a bottle of wine which considering what we ate was impressive.. will be going back for the take that tribute in September for sure. Well done guys.

Loads of food options to choose from on the menu - very hard decision! The food was excellent, high 5 to the chef! Had chicken tempura then chicken haggis and mustard sauce! Lovely and very attentive staff. I have a nut allergy and everyone on board knew about it straight away to prevent contamination. Recommend to others wanting to eat out in this pretty restaurant

We had our wedding here in April 2018 and what a fantastic place to have it... everything from start to finish was perfect,,, Emma our host was just brilliant and made sure everything went wonderful which it did and many people commented on how great a day it was... the food was outstanding with the meal itself being hugely congratulated on..so a huge thanks to the wedding chef... I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful day no it was really all down t the Gailes and their wonderful attentive staff from bringing out a sewing kit so I could dance to providing hankies for the girls..Thankyou so much for everything you gave us a perfect day love Johnny n Margaret in sunny Italy

Had a great over night stay , ailsa suite was fantastic , would be 5 star but for minor touches , ie robes n slippers for Jacuzzi but was an excellent room none the less. Most staff were great especially the blonde lady at dinner , very welcoming although cleaning staff when leaving we're rude to us as according to them we should have checked out at 10 when actually check out is 11 , they where ignorant and argued with us that we should have checked out at 10 but no-one had told us this so therefore they shouldn't have been rude to us for checking out at 11 which is the hotels check out time . Overall was a great stay but left a bad taste upon leaving .

Had a fantastic overnight,food great lunch and dinner ,and of course breakfast. Our bedroom was beautiful and had a view over the golf course. We had such a good time with our friends ,just what we all needed . Staff were great, thanks Steph . Hope to see you all soon

Staff excellent throughout our stay, especially maintenance staff and cleaning staff whom despite being significantly busy and managing a high turnover on the days of our stay where polite, courteous and extremely helpful. Really made our stay feel "homely".Bar and service staff were excellent and enjoyed some genuine discussion rather than usual scripted service talk. Very welcome stay and great facilities.

First visit and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was very good, the beer excellent, and the staff very attentive. Only downside was that it was very busy due to a wedding fair, so perhaps a bit slower than would be the norm.

Stayed here for two nights.1st night was a nice friendly check in. Clean room with comfortable bed and easy to control heating (was a little warm for me but easily turned down) which lead to a good nights sleep.Day 2 breakfast was OK contents were good but lacking in quantity. so after a full days work in 0 deg temp I was ready for nice meal. food in the restaurant was lovely. I would recommend the chicken and haggis main. All in all a great hotel for a good price (out of season tho)

The Gailes has lost its touch. Food was substandard, lacked any real taste or even originality. Very very pricey for what you can get elsewhere. Service was ok and the decor is lovely. Can't see past the poor food though as that's the main reason for visiting. Decent choice but very little is recommend. Sadly most Simpsinns venues are like this now, overpriced and people are starting to realise it.

A great friendly place easy to find straight off the A78. Late check in due to the Arran Ferry being Cancelled. Evening meal served till 20.00 and an early breakfast arranged for 05.00. Rooms lovely and clean tea coffee chocolate and fruit in the room as well as toothbrush and toothpaste as I was stranded on the mainland. I have saved their number for time which says alot

I went with friend for dinner but had not booked, which was no trouble and manager showed us to a table. We were a few minutes late to take advantage of the evening deal of 2 courses that finished at 6.30 but the waiter asked the chef and he said it was ok so we opted for this menu. The chicken tempura were delicious, very light with side salad and tangy dip. I opted for the beef in ale gravy but asked for boiled potatoes instead of mash which was fine with them. Very tasty not a big portion with piece of puff pastry and root vegetables. My friend chose lasagna which was a good sized portion and she could not eat it all, it was good but not the best I've tasted, think it lacked more tomato sauce? We opted to share a desert (with add on of £2.50) the lemon meringue pie which was very good indeed. All in all a good meal in a lovely restaurant and the service was great too. Would go back.

We went to the Gailes Hotel for an evening Itison voucher meal, where we were seated quickly by friendly staff.The vegetable pakora for starters was lovely and quite filling. The prawn cocktail was also a very generous sized portion and my fiancé enjoyed it.For mains we both had the burger which was served with onion rings, coleslaw, relish and chips. The burger was obviously were good quality meat as it was very good. My only complaint was that I was too full to try a dessert! I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant ☺️

Called into this hotel for breakfast after a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was delivered quickly and was well presented. We haven't used this hotel for anything else at present but based on the service we received so far would certainly look to explore the use of the other facilities as the need arises. The hotel is easy to locate and has plenty of parking. It looks like the hotel caters for business events and weddings.

Had not booked but pleasant waiting staff identified and offered us a choice of table for two. Lovely window table, spacious and comfortable. We both opted for chicken tempura as we have always enjoyed it. I had mayonnaise instead of the hot chilli dip. It was excellent. I had the fish and chips and it was delicious. The fish was really tender and tasty. Only downside was the mushy peas were rather cold but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the meal. Sides of battered onion rings were tasty although a smaller portion than usual. My wife had the chicken with ginger and noodles which she said was really good. Meal was served in good time and staff were attentive, particularly Frazer who was very friendly and humorous. We both felt it had been a very tasty and enjoyable meal.

Stayed at the Gaines whilst in the area for workVery clean and tidy hotel in a location close proximity to town.The rooms were excellent and the overall service above average.The bed was comfortable and above average.The food was above average specifically the dinner was excellent.Overall I would definitely stay again if in the area.

Upside of the visit:1. 12 of us visited this hotel to play golf, for 3 nights. Ideally situated close to the 3 golf courses we chose. Newly decorated modern hotel with good, clean facilities. 2. Pleasant staff.3. Adequate food offering.Downside of visit:1. Small rooms with very little storage space, only 4 coat hangers.2. No sitting room in the hotel, nowhere to sit in the evening other than the restaurant/bar area.3. Drinks expensive. On the first night we asked for port and they had run out. They did not have any the following 2 nights. They had also run out of Amaretto, but never got more before we left.4. Not really near anywhere to walk to for an evening meal, need to drive or taxi.5. Irvine itself is a very depressed area, with little to offer in dining experience. We had to go to Troon to eat out.6. There is a room adjoining the restaurant/bar, labelled Restaurant, which was not in use, but on morning 1 we were seated in there for breakfast being a party of 12. We asked if we could sit in there for dinner on our last night, as we felt we had made a bit of a noise with 12 of us talking over dinner the night before, and being golfers we wanted to have a small presentation. We were told we could dine in there for an additional fee of £125! We said that was ridiculous if we could eat breakfast in there for nothing.After some consideration they said we could have it for £25. We explained we wanted it for nothing. Eventually they relented and said OK, by which time we were so irritated we said we would rather eat out, and we pointed out that they had lost over £400 in dinner and drinks.7. There were inconsistencies in the food portions and description. At dinner the first and only night, the chicken stuffed with haggis, was haggis on top of the chicken, not a problem, but my portion of haggis was about a desert spoonful, whereas the others had so much haggis, the chicken was not visible. At breakfast some people got 2 sausages, some got 1. At lunch some people ordered garlic ciabatta and some got 3 pieces and others 2. At breakfast we ordered scrambled egg and smoked salmon, some people got the thinly sliced smoked salmon as expected, but 2 of us got cold smoked fillet of salmon, what I would describe as “hot smoked salmon”. We were told it’s just a variation of smoked salmon??8. 2 days running, in the late afternoon, there were large lorries around the back of the Hotel with their engines running for 45 minutes while they did some sort of drain or pipe work, it was very noisy and a lot if diesel fumes came into the bedroom.My conclusion is that this hotel is not suitable for larger golf parties, and the staff missed a trick, by being difficult about not allowing us to sit for dinner where we had breakfast. A separate residents only sitting room is required, as there is not much room in the restaurant/ bar area to sit together for the evening, which was busy with local people.

We had an 'it is on' voucher. We went in August 2017. I had the thai green chicken curry. The chicken was tough and my plate was swimming in water. There was plenty of spice to the dish but seriously lacked flavour. My wife had the fish and chips. The fish was nice but the hand cut chips were bitter and inedible. The worst 'it is on' deal so far and we've had a few.

Very poor meal tonight. Only went here because i had 15 pound token after a poor meal supplied on spa day. Will not be back. When i said risotto was like mush the only comment i got was ok will let kitchen know. Very poor

We stopped in for a late lunch while looking for a restaurant in unfamiliar territory. We were seated quite quickly, then sort of left for awhile.When the waitress returned to take our drink orders, we had had enough time to decide on our meals as well, but that is not how it is done apparently.A different staff member brought our drinks and did not wait for our meal order either...hmm.Upon return of our original server, we ordered our meals and I ordered a cup of soup with my sandwich and asked for it as a starter. A full bowl of soup arrived awhile later and I thought "that is a big cup of soup right there"The sandwich took what I consider to be too long to arrive and when it did I was surprised to see a cup of soup as accompaniment! Well, the soup was good so I dug in and although I was unable to finish the second serving of soup, which was apparently a source of amusement for my wife, I gave it a good try.They offer good food here, but are lacking in communication and service levels. That is the reason for the three rather than a four.

Ate here last night. It consisted of an eighty mile round trip and we left disappointed! The restaurant and The Gailes Hotel complex are very smart, however the food on offer left a bit to be desired. My wife had prawn cocktail which she enjoyed. I had vegetable pakora which was nice but lacked a sauce dish. We both chose the Thai green curry as mains. Both came and I had to return mine. My wife's had a really good looking sauce over the chicken, I struggled to find a sauce at all! The waitress even commented " I could see why you returned that Sir" It turned out that the chef had run out of sauce and chose to send out a meal that obviously wasn't the way it should be! To be fair the next offering was decent and quite enjoyable. However, the whole dining experience wasn't worth the journey!Wouldn't rush back and the chef needs to have a word with himself about sending out a meal that wasn't up to scratch!

Having just spent a wonderful day as guests at a wedding and the night at the sister hotel, The Waterside, we used a voucher deal to try Zest for lunch.We had a deal for 2 desserts & 2 mains for &17.We certainly didn't expect fine dining for this price & would have been happy with anything decent.It was far better than expected and it was really nice to see consistency of good service and freshly prepared food in the 2 establishments.Starters if prawn cocktail & soup were lovely, but the mains definitely stole the show.My Thai green curry was delicious! Not too strong and the portion was massive. The flatbread was just right and accompanied the main perfectly.My partners burger was delicious, the side of fries, coleslaw and salad were too much he had to forget dessert.I tried the apple & pear crumble, which wasn't really a crumble. The topping was finely ground and nut crumbly, but strangely it was actually delicious and a laughed at how strange but how much I enjoyed it.Top marks to the friendly, efficient staff who take care of us in our delicate state.Oh, and the coffee was good too!Well done, we will go back to try the Sunday lunch everyone else seemed to order next time, the Yorkshire puddings looked great.

Poor service, standard of food varies from inedible pakora to delicious steak and ale pie. Restaurant area a bit shabby and table in need of some restoration.

This is without doubt the best in town for assured quality and service with a comprehensive menu and reasonable prices.

Large charity event, food was great, very impressed. I never expect much from these large mass catering events but this 3 course meal was really good. So much so that we are going back for a meal for 2. Fab staff and service too.

Visited for a family birthday meal & once more we had a superb experience. Food is fantastic, cooked fresh to order, great value for money & very satisfying. Cannot speak highly enough of the venue!

Habiendo vivido en la zona durante 20 años nunca tuvimos llegó a probar Gailes aunque han probado sus hoteles hermanos y restaurantes así que no decidimos probarlo para el almuerzo.Me sorprendió gratamente con el servicio y el menú,había una buena selección aunque como amante de los peces me hubiera gustado ver algo más que pescado y patatas fritas, pero tal vez también hay un menú de noche,hay un menú de almuerzo especial que tiene una buena relación calidad-precio en 14 libras. 50 por dos campos,tuve pollo stroganoff desde el menú estándar y estaba delicioso,mi esposo y amigos tenían el acuerdo de especiales y la comida era muy buena,el toffees/tarta de palomitas era fabulosa,el personal es muy atento y muy servicial, y el entorno es bastante bonito.Bill 4 fueron más de 70 libras, lo cual me pareció razonable para la calidad de la comida y nos gustaría volver, quizás en la noche si hay más opciones de pescado.

Nos alojamos aquí por una noche y tuve una noche cómoda. La habitación estaba muy limpia y la cama era muy cómoda. This is a good hotel to stay att if you want to play golf in the Prestwick area. there is a 15 pound taxi ride in to Prestwick city. you have tree great golf courses in walking distance.

Este hotel es un estupendo lugar para 1 noche. El personal era muy amable y eficiente.El spa está bien, pero un poquito lejos del edificio principal, pero no hay problema si no está lloviendo lo que era esta mañana.La comida era excelente. Tomamos el té de la tarde, cena y desayuno.Todo estaba muy rico y abundante,volveremos en el mejor tiempo. Si tenemos esto en Escocia.

Mi marido y yo nos alojamos aquí. 2 noches en 17 y el 18 de febrero. El 18 de marzo fue una oferta Itison reservado 80 libras sin embargo deben armonizarse 17 via reserva. com en el último minuto. Hotel. nos dejó en una habitación por la duración. El hotel estaba lleno con 2 bodas durante el fin de semana pero no es un problema para nosotros, aunque oían era una época como los invitados a una boda estancia. la noche. La habitación era preciosa, con vistas al campo de golf. Comimos todas las comidas y todas eran buenas y buena relación calidad-precio. Excelentes opciones de desayuno. El personal era encantador y amable. Uso del spa los dos días. Tenía un buen masaje y un tratamiento facial y las niñas estaban muy bien. Esta es nuestra 3ª estancia y sin duda volveremos como siempre disfrutar de nuestra estancia

Visitamos con dos amigos que se reúnen una vez al mes para cenar. La selección de la comida era satisfactoria en el menú más barato. Todos tuvimos un arranque y una red. Aparte del melón de arranque no ser muy maduro todos disfrutamos de sombrero que tuvimos. Regularmente ir por café y un bollo de pan tostado en las mañanas que siempre es excelente. El personal es encantador.

Visitamos aquí con mi familia para la cena en el restaurante, ya que había cenado aquí anteriormente. El menú era muy variada y tenía un montón de opciones para elegir. La comida era muy buena y bien presentada aunque he de decir que algunas de las comidas principales eran bastante pequeñas y, de hecho, un miembro de la familia afirmó que él no orden entrante. No nos quejamos en el momento ya que teníamos un niño pequeño que estaba recibiendo muy cansado y decepcionado, pero sentimos como fractious las porciones no eran tan pequeñas la última vez que fuimos. El personal era muy amable, servicial y eficiente. Sólo cenamos aquí y no allí por la noche.

Fuimos para el almuerzo del domingo. Opción de menú disponible 2 / 3 platos. Pero nos decidimos por algo fuera del menú principal. Mi esposa tenía una tortilla de huevo con queso y 3 cebolla patatas fritas también, vino con ella le encantó. Fui a un plato en las ofertas especiales, que era la de cerdo asada buena parte de buen tamaño con gran cantidad de sabores sin duda volveremos a probar más de la carta. Como mi única amiga Boosh unidos al viento.

El aceite estaban cocinadas en no estaba lo suficientemente caliente para que no hojaldre correctamente.Principal era el burger que estaba sólo bien. No es una gran textura. Me gusta el 100% de carne sin relleno para una hamburguesa, pero éste no era uno de esos. Mi marido y yo vinimos aquí para una noche cogimos la oferta de spa, que era algo fuera de este mundo el masaje era increíble. Las habitaciones estaban impecables y cómodas la cena era uno en un millón el bistec era bien merece la pena pagar 7 libras cargo sub tenían el mejor descanso en años y luego está el desayuno escocés completo la excelente los huevos revueltos era mejor que he probado sin duda volveremos

Cenamos en el Gailes, con otra pareja, en Nochebuena. En el lado positivo, el personal era excelente y la comida era buena. Costo era razonable. Sin embargo, me decepcionó en el ambiente general. La distribución de las mesas donde nos sentamos error al crear la sensación de "complicidad" con otros comensales que algunos hoteles/restaurantes consigue en ocasiones como esta. Las mesas eran un poco en mal estado y desnuda y habría beneficiado, quizá, de algún tipo de decorativo. Había una banda tocando música de navidad y este fue, en efecto, un intento positivo de inducir al espíritu de la temporada. El inconveniente era que estábamos sentados bastante cerca y era a menudo difícil entablar una conversación con nuestros amigos mientras la música estaba tocando. Mi clasificación, tengo que decir, refleja sólo esta particular visita. He cenado en el Gailes en muchas otras ocasiones ¿cuándo mi clasificación han sido, al menos, 4 / 5.

Reservé una estancia corta ya que me he alojado aquí muchas veces, pero cuando aterricé me dijeron que allí donde en obras en mi piso y no se debería a la perturbación. Esto no fue explicado en el momento de la reserva o habría de proveniencia alojamiento alternativo. Era como dormir en una pintura de estaño!
