The lady who waited on me was exceptionally brilliant with her service. Smiling, polite and courteous. Good food and not too expensive.

Great place for some delicious Greek food. The staff here are nice and enjoy interacting with you. I'll be back.

Worst restaurant in Essex trust me

This restaurant was way too noisy. I had to ask for the music to be turned down and the clientele were extremely noisy. The food was disappointing. Moussaka is supposed to have clear layers but this was more of a sloppy mess. I also had to get the food redone because the first was cold in the middle and had clearly been left on the side for a long time (despite them claiming it was freshly made). The staff also had to be repeatedly waved down. The only redeeming thing about the service was I got some houmous on the house. I did, however, have to order 2 drinks because everything took so long and I didn't even eat the second moussaka because by this point I'd lost my appetite. I will not be returning.

A cosy welcoming restaurant. We felt like we was on holiday with the music ,decor. Nice to see families there aswell. Food was delicious, generous portions. We had the special for that night. Spit roasted Lamb the meat fell off the bone😋 We will be returning

A really nice little place in Romford town centre with great main meals in terms of portion size and cost. Starters are a little pricey compared to what you get for the cost, especially compared to mains, and sometimes the restaurant suffers from it's location, as it looks directly onto a high street and night club where drop offs and pickups are frequent. On the whole, lovely place! Very solid service, excellent mains!

My family and I come here on a regular basis. The food and service is always excellent. Came here for Christmas eve lunch and tried the new menu. We had the gigantes (beans in tomato sauce) and the courgette fritters for starters and they were delicious. I tried the yemista (stuffed peppers with mince and rice) highly recommended. Looking forward to going back in the new year and trying something else new.

I have been here quite a few times since moving to the area. The food is always great, good portion sizes and great flavours, good value for money. The staff are always friendly and attentive. I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant, it feels warm and homely- a lovely, charming Greek restaurant!

I came to this restaurant a couple of days ago with my family who live local. We were excited to dine here because we had seen the good reviews for the food. The manager suggested trying the special of the day….the meat was good - but the manager’s behaviour was awful! I don’t know who put her in a position of power! I feel sorry for the staff working there and anyone who encounters her. No matter how good the food is we won’t come back. She needs to be replaced.

I was there Friday evening (13 Dec) and bought a lamb souvlaki with CHIPS for take away, but they’ve put rice instead!! I would have gone back, but I was at 1h distance! But food was tasty, and the place is nice. @The Yummy Greek please pay more attention to orders!

Honestly its worth to try if y love greek gyros.the flavour is just like authentic greek and i have to mention that the portion sizes are really fair.1 wrap and you are full! Also the ammount of meat is very genuine.we are frequent customers.👍👍👍

I recently dined at this local Greek restaurant and had an unforgettable meal featuring their spit-roasted lamb, cooked to perfection over a charcoal grill. The lamb was simply incredible—tender, juicy, and packed with a smoky, savory flavor that’s easily the best I’ve ever tasted. Paired with a crisp, fresh salad and flavorful rice, every bite was a delight. We also had Dolma and baked feta cheese for starters and my wife had a grilled holumi kebab. All the food was amazing. The experience was made even better by the superb service. Our waitress was fantastic—bubbly, friendly, and attentive in a way that really made us feel welcome. Although I didn’t catch her name, her warmth and enthusiasm added a special touch to our evening. It was my first visit, but I’m already looking forward to returning for both the amazing food and the outstanding service!

A lovely, inviting place to eat. The staff are wonderful, very warm and welcoming. Comfortable seating area with delightful background music, the menu is full and the food is authentic Athenian. We had lamb souvlaki/gyros, gyros plate, Greek sausage and salad. The meat was beautifully marinated, the chips were delicious, the salad was perfect and the feta was fresh. There are Greek beers and wines on offer. It was the best meal I have had in a long time and it was reasonably priced as well. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our first visit and must say that staff were excellent, very attentive and helpful with our orders. We did not have a meal but I did notice that the food being served looked and smelt great. We will certainly return to try it for ourselves.

What truly stood out was the warm welcome we received from Sara, who was exceptional. She enthusiastically guided us through the menu, making great recommendations. It's rare to find someone who genuinely enjoys their job, and her passion made the experience even more enjoyable. Because of her, I had a fantastic time at this restaurant and would highly recommend it to all my friends and family. MANAGEMENT please give her employee of the year.

I found this place on Uber eats. Really good options and good prices for the portion sizes. I was really impressed with the quality and the tastiness of the pork souvlaki, offering a three skewer kebab box. The salad was just under a tenner, which I think is a little steep.

I have been trying for the longest time to get in touch the owner but obviously my messages and emails are not being reached. As a customer that’s has been purchasing from the establishment since inception, and have introduced friends and family there I am extremely disappointed in the service that I have been receiving for some time now. Specifically from the blond hair woman, who refused to give a name, and her customer service. I have sent an email and I have voiced my concerns enough is enough. I was just in the restaurant to see if any of the owners were in and as usual I was met with her disgusting attitude, all that can been seen on the cctv. She lacks decorum and simple manners to be a front of house staff. And out of respect of the owners and people that were sitting having their meals, and moreover, respect for myself, I refrained from acting in a manner that was unbecoming. The need for wanting to speak with the owner stemmed from the poor standard of food that I received via Uber eats and the telephone conversation I had, I believe was with the same lady as her mannerism over the phone is uncanny to what I just encountered. This was my go to place as I am a fussy/picky eater and it is absolutely disappointing that I will have to cease customs with them because of the deplorable customer service from that I have been receiving. Unacceptable. P.s the food in question is below the standard that has been set from the beginning.

We had a diner on Saturday evening. It wasn't busy, place was pleasant. Fried calamari where a disappointment, chewy with low amount of flavour. Shared meat plater for two people was great. Outstanding part was greek sausages with a herbs. Service was flawless. Overall we had good meal.

When you walk into a restaurant and the waitress does not understand 'wheat' and asks why you want to see the allergy book, you walk out and never return. I was surprised at the lack of knowledge by her, and disappointed I could not even speak to the chef because he did not speak English. They need to learn more about allergies and how to communicate properly with customers. Anyone who handles food should do their food safety training first. Customers have a right to see the allergen book, worrying that she asked why.

10/10 always coming back when missing this delicious Greek cuisine. Lovely stuff!

We had mixed skepasti and stuffed cheese bifteki. Skepasti was essentially fat and oily doner meat in pita, with close to no salad and dip. Dry and salty. Bifteki was the low quality fat minced meat stuffed with cheese. It had the supermarket frozen food taste, I would not recommend it. Wine was probably not to bad but it’s hard to say, as it was served to us warm. We sat outside as inside was too how. We paid circa £45 for two people.

I had been told by my friends about this restaurant that it is very good. And when I went on vacation to London, it goes without saying that I and my family visited it. It was really the best authentic Greek restaurant I've had. And the staff was very helpful. Well done to them, it is understood that we will go again as soon as we go to London again. South Street Tha Yummy Greek staff is very dirty, order is ready but still they don't give it, all staff work very slow, staff is very rude, no manners to talk here. And they never give order on time to Uber driver

I’m very upset about how they treated me inside. I’m doing delivery food job. The restaurant have them policy to keep the delivery drivers at the door like a dog. I understand that. But sometimes I go in the restaurant to eat because I like the food. For example, today I was sitting relax at the table waiting to be served , and a member of the staff asked me ,,what are you doing here?” I told her I just want to order something. She said ,,aaa aha ok “ but I was expecting to be treated like a human being not like that. I don’t even know if I can come back there. If I will, I like to be client not a dog like you think. Change the policy. This is the wrong one.

Visited here with Family. We aren't from the area so needed somewhere relaxing to go. Certainly picked the right place, it was really lovely and clean Staff were friendly and attentive. Most of our food was absolutely deliciously, I was dissapointed with the Moussaka as assumed it would be cooked fresh, it tasted like it had been warmed in a microwave, it wasn't very hot and the bechamel was set like cold custard. The Souvlaki was amazing and the pork Gyros was great too. We would return and eat there again, I will order Gyros this time. Price was great too, very reasonable for the 5 of us. Great to go somewhere that isn't burger and chips. Highly recommend

We have ordered from The Yummy Greek and I guess it was a mix up with the order and we only got half of it. The staff was so nice, they called me and delivered it themselves, even gave us extra deserts on the house. The food is always so good and I appreciate the staff that works hard every time to provide a nice service.

On 22.4.2024, Monday, my wife and I stopped by this Greek restaurant in Romford for dine-in lunch. At 15:15pm we have read the menu outside, before going in, and photo'ed the advertised "The Yummy Hour 15% Off Dine-In Monday-Thursday 3pm-6pm (Please see the attached photo). Sat inside and ordered among others, 1 Chicken Souvlaki and 1 Pork Souvlaki. Several minutes later, they brought us 1 Chicken GYRO and 1 CHICKEN GYRO. We informed the waitress, which politely she understood the two mistakes on our order. She told us that she could change the order and bring us the correct one and also mentioned 3 times that we will be given a discount too. With that, we accepted to have the food they mistakenly brought to us. Asked for the bill and paid, only to realize later that the advertised 15% Discount was NOT given and NO other discount was given for the mistakes made by the restaurant. Clearly this made us both feel like we have been lied to. Please see the receipt and draw your own conclusions. How can we recommend this place? We do feel that others should be warned before going in or ordering.

As always The Yummy Greek delivers the most amazing food. I don't get a chance to come here often but whenever I'm in town this is the place I choose to eat. The only disappointing thing is I could force myself to possibly eat any more. I always leave full and satisfied. Well done.

Went their a couple of weeks ago forgot to put my review. Came in no one even bothered to look to serve... Even after sitting down at the table for 5 minutes... One waitress looked and looked the other way. No one coming to ask if I need assistance... Certainly need to work on that here... Treat every customer the same and don't pick and choose which customer you want to help... As this is exactly what was happening! Certainly over priced for what was given the food was quite dry... Their is 100 percent definitely better Greek food than this place... Won't come back again waitresses pick and choose who they give good customer service to on who walks through that door because I evidently saw that with my own eyes.. Overall won't be coming back again... Thought to try a Greek place... Wasn't the best

Was my very first trying this place and I left disappointed. Wasn’t asked if I was eating in or taking away and just assumed I it was a takeaway. I had ordered the mixed gyro. Food lacked flavour and was very dry. I had asked for extra tzatziki on the side but they failed to mention that it would cost me an extra £1.50 for the smallest pot of tzatziki until I had finished everything; I don’t like when restaurants do this at all. The atmosphere felt a little judgemental. Feel like my money would have been better spent at the local kebab shop.
