Did not have anything to eat. The pub is nice. We sat out side. A nice group of people came out side. They was from, Barnsley some X miners. Teased my daughter with snuff They was going to a foot ball match. Very nice people.

Good singer on and good atmosphere

Good music and great prices. It's a long standing Retford pub and has a great look to it. Good selection of larger, hand pull and spirits. Great for sports as they always have the football on if you're into that. Can't fault it.

Great atmosphere, good music mix. Guinness tasted right. Busy enough but not over crowded.

This was a fantastic pub to go drinking at, with a vintage style as the name would indicate! The walls give off those vibes, the counter is well-presented and staff were friendly. I had a pint of Strongbow Dark Fruit, sitting comfortably in the outdoor area which has a bonus of shelter!

Great pub, great staff. Manager told me about the pubs history and that it was the longest serving pub as an actual pub in the area. Really nice architecture to the building too.

If you don't like the Olde Sun then I'm afraid you don't like proper pubs.

Went to watch the NLD as it was on BT sport. Relatively small pub but they had the game showing on 4 large screen TVs. Pints were cheap too!

I still rate this pub as one of the, if not the best pub in Retford. Me & my mates all used it in the late sixties & beyond. Now even better at £2.00 a pint..!!!!!. I appeal to the owners, Please do not alter the pub. Other good pubs in Retford had been altered & are now long gone. Old sun pub staff are Brill.

A very quiet pub, lovely people

From a building perspective Ye Olde Sun Inn had all the style you would expect of an ancient pub, ie low ceilings, a plethora of old ceiling beams, and even sturdy wooden pillars holding it all up. Coming back to the modern age however, there is no “olde world” pretence, and you have wall to wall sports screens and a background of rock music on constant play. And, having said that, I’m not complaining and the pub had a pleasant, lively feel to it. On a Tuesday evening it was also much busier that most other pubs in town, so is clearly a favourite with the locals.

Fantastic pub!! So friendly! Made to feel at home & could take the dog down without a problem! Alex was so accommodating and had all COVID measures in place, unlike other pubs in Retford! Felt very safe & welcome! Definitely our new local! Fantastic bar staff who can’t do enough for you!

Definitely not my sort of place. If you like mass-produced hyped lagers, big screen TVs and fruit machines this could be the pub for you. Didn't impress me nor an American guest - tastelesss Real Ales; no Port; no Prosseco; no return!!
