Amazing atmosphere and service. Music is great, people are the best. I would love for it serve some food to have with my Guinness. Other than that, a must in Liverpool.

Liverpool's oldest pub dating back almost 300 years! We visited as part of Bus Brewery Tours Liverpool, and was introduced to the landlord, who is a very lovely affable chap, and had a joke and a laugh with our party. The pub is full of character, with the beer cellar being above the main pub, and full of small anecdotes such as women not being allowed in before the 70s. Definitely a must visit stop if you're a fan of history, pubs, or just in Liverpool as a tourist!

Best bar in Liverpool by far, hopefully when you visit, you get a chance to meet the owner, Steven. The hospitality is second to none.

This is the oldest pub in the city. The date on the wall says it's been in business since 1726. So in two years time it will actually be 300 years old. I've heard that this pub is unusual in another way in that the beer cellar is on the first floor. The reason apparently is that it used to be a Quaker cemetery and the pub was built over it. It's a very warm and welcoming place and judging from the atmosphere the locals love this place.

Came up for a visit to Liverpool, first time ever visiting this wonderful city and happened to pass by this little pub while looking for the statue of Billy Fury. We had noticed how friendly everyone in Liverpool and thought we would pop our heads in ‘the oldest pub in Liverpool’ and what a gem it is! It was early afternoon but we were greeted to a warm welcome by the man I can only assume is the owner or manager ‘what can i get you’? and the banter started straight off. This fella is really funny and warm and we were made to feel very welcomed. My boyfriend was the giggle and titter which he got to taste and was then topped back up, you don’t get that down south! Would 💯 pop back in if I’m back In Liverpool. We didn’t eat so can’t rate food but I’m sure if we had eaten it would have been lovely. The toilets are very clean and smelled lovely and the bar was full of interesting things and a fee locals who were all friendly. Wonderful little place.

Tucked away on a side street, it's a pleasant place to escape the hustle bustle of the city. Friendly staff pouring great pints, with plenty of locals to talk to. I had the luck of meeting the owner the first day in town, and he gave me a great welcome. Port and Stilton on the house, and a great laugh with the regulars. I've never felt so welcome in a pub. Ye Hole In Ye Wall on Hackins Hey is one of the best pubs in the city centre that offer's a superb range of cask ale's and without a doubt the oldest pub in the city centre and is a pub me and my twin brother have been to hundreds of times over the years. Located in Hackins Hey which is one of the original seven street's of Liverpool'this pub is housed in a superb old building that was built over a Quaker burial site'Ye Hole In Ye Wall pub is reputably haunted by a couple of ghost's and given the age of this brilliant pub and it's history it makes sense. The interior of Ye Hole In Ye Wall is brilliant with an excellent multi-roomed interior with many interesting fixtures and features and superb seating options. There are plenty of interesting fixtures to this pub like it's wood panelled wall's and stained glass window's and partitions and is a joy to visit. This was our 1st visit to this superb pub this year and as usual it was very lively which is how we like pubs as the atmosphere is a lot better. On our visit we had a few glasse's of cask ales which where as alway's excellent and were well priced. This is a fantastic pub in a brilliant area and well worth a visit and easy to get to from Moorfields train station its a short walk.(This is my fifth review of the Ye Hole In Ye Wall). Up,out and about on a beautiful January morning, my twin brother and I decided to jump the train down from Kirkby to Liverpool City Centre to visit some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for, one of the pubs we visited was The Ye Hole In Ye Wall Pub, a pub I've been visiting for more years than I care to remember. This is one of the oldest pubs in Liverpool, opened in 1726 ,its a superb old fashioned pub, snug rooms, stained glass windows, pubby decor and furnishings, nice wall art, a real wood burning fireplace, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a great pub to unwind in. We were here on a Saturday late evening, pub was very busy with a great atmosphere, we got a pale ale each, these were served in pristine condition, we luckily managed to get a table were we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My pale ale was really good, well balanced, hoppy but not overhopped, delicious aroma and aftertaste, a classic British pale ale served in a classic British back street boozer, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Ye Hole In Ye Wall Pub we had a great time. The Ye Hole In Ye Wall Pub is easy to locate along Hackins Hey. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 11am till 11pm. Well worth seeking out if you're in this area of the city.

On a spontaneous sightseeing visit to Liverpool, we decided to check out Liverpools oldest pub and discovered Ye Hole in Ye Wall. It's tucked away down a little street, however it's definitely worth finding and dropping in. With a great range of beers, some real local characters and a landlord and team that makes you feel so very welcome, we were so happy to have rested our feet, have a great beer and meet some truly lovely people. Stephen, the landlord, came over to chat with us and shared some of the history of this place and his ownership of what he'd done to keep the heritage of such a place (it was founded in 1726 - WOW!!). Stephen also introduced us to Black Velvet - Guiness and Port - and we weren't disappointed. We'll definitely be back and look forward to dropping in next time when there's some live music on. We didn't eat on this occasion - but the food looked wholesome and tasty! Thanks for the kind welcome Stephen and see you next time Fella!!

We often visit here but don’t generally do reviews. However, visited again today with family(including young children), and really can’t praise this pub and particularly the staff (Jennifer and Sue in particular), enough. Great selection of draught beers, comprehensive menu, good quality food served piping hot, spotless toilets, what else could you possibly want! We always look forward to visiting this fine establishment and will be back for more next week.

In response to your request for people to be kind in your various condescending response comments below, that is rather hypocritical considering your lack of kindness towards eight young respectful students. It's therefore hardly surprising that numerous people felt the need to leave feedback warning others about your intimidating attitude to their friends and relatives is it, both on this site and other platforms from what I have seen. As you are well aware from the photograph posted and from one of the students parents speaking to yourself, both food and drink had been purchased by the students who you asked to leave, just not enough it seems! Not sure where the good vibes advertised were hiding on Friday, as you just caused unnecessary upset to my daughter and her friends, so of course your comments hit a nerve with us! I am aware in response to your query, that the hospitality industry is having a challenging time and your establishment was pretty empty when you so rudely asked the students to leave (and now not to come back, according to the parent who spoke to you to express her concerns regarding your behaviour). It actually makes sense to have people in the bar to attract more custom when it's empty, which you should know after 24 years! I have been to The Font myself on a couple of occasions and personally was unimpressed and am even more so now! Like you say though there are plenty of other places in the area, thanks for the heads up about your neighbours, hopefully they will be more welcoming and not wanting to turn the students upside down to empty their pockets! It's nice to be nice!!!

First time visit with my daughter and the staff kindly found us a table for 20 minutes time. Had a wander up Lark Lane before returning for what is hands down one of the nicest meals we have eaten. Such a lovely place, great vibe and brilliant staff. Can’t wait to come back.
