Been drinking here years then went in last week there's a dog sitting on the table drinking out of a bowl disgusting for this to be allowed no respect for people who don't have pets or people eat there it's just wrong so we All left

Visited for quiz night, lively and good atmosphere

Most of the staff are great, especially the servers. Food is slightly better than the Standard (also Greene King). The burgers with blue cheese taste like they have blue cheese on, unlike those served up at the Standard. BUT..the ladies loo is the worse loo in the Village. No hand drier (broken)loo paper on the floor, water flooded floor, no lock on the loos, no soap in the dispensers. Basically, it's a disgrace. You're serving food for christsake. Clean the loos. So, my advice is to go to the Standard down the road, or to Amo up the road. Much cleaner experience. Pity, tho, as staff here in the Sefton are more pleasant than at either of those other places. Amo staff can be particularly miserable. Its your choice, I guess.

Such a warm and friendly environment perfect for families, havin a quiet drink or goin with a group. The food has always been piping hot always happy to accomodate when needed.

I really enjoy visiting this pub regularly with my friend. We've been regulars here for years. The staff come and go but they are always friendly. It sometimes gets a bit noisy but we're usually ready to leave then anyway. The food is always enjoyabl...you get what you pay for. I did have an issue a while ago however when my daughter and I had the hunters chicken and we both got food poisoning. I was extremely ill for 3 days, my daughter wasn't quite as ill as me. When I recovered I went to the pub to speak to the manager. He was a young cocky lad with plenty of attitude. When I told him what had happened he smirked and gave no comnent. It was clear that he wasn't bothered. More recently my friend and I visited and although there were plenty of posters about the pub saying that vaping is not allowed, there were several people at the table in front of us clearly vaping and none of the staff addressed it which was dissappointing.

We had a family meal here on a Saturday afternoon, 21 of us all together. I haven't had such a nice sirloin steak in a long time, not one bit of fat and cooked perfectly (medium rare) The chips were crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside, perfection 👌 The pub got really busy towards 5pm as people were coming in for evening drinks but still a friendly atmosphere and not much wait at the bar. Didn't manage to take any pictures of the food due to it being a big family meal.

The experience was good because we got served straight away the girl who served us was lovely and polite also service with a smile x

Went there Wednesday about 3 o'clock ok quite time of the day but even so the place is drab no atmosphere over priced paying top price for a second class pub because of were it is it thinks it's the best in the village don't think so 👎👎

I had the vegan katsu curry, it was awful, just inedible. The breaded vegan chicken pieces were horrible, the chips were under cooked and the rice was over cooked; the curry sauce just tasted like regular Chinese curry sauce. My first set of cutlery I was given was dirty, but I had that changed. Nobody asked if the food was okay otherwise I would of just told them then and there it was inedible. We just ended up leaving and won't ever go back or recommend it.

Very loud tv screens all showing different sports all on tooooo loud everybody had to shout to be heard.

Nice meal, reasonable price. Breakdown in communication as we ordered 3 small plates as starters and 2 main courses but they all turned up at once. Make sure yoy state as starter if required 1st

Great athmosphere on a evening. Food is okay. Make sure you input your reg number into the tablet inside, so you don't get fined!

Lovely meal Vegetarian Marinara / rocket / chips delicious sauce. Fish & chips

The barmaids were amazing, everything fantastic. Fruit machine robbed me of a fiver. I told the staff I wont be back to collect that sum so put it in the staff jar. Then the screen said collect, the staff member lunged to switch off. Dissapointed, I would have said press collect and put in staff glass. Ruins a good night everything else was great. Dissapointed when preying on someone you assume is more drunk than is. £5, I tipped and complimented more. I spent about £32, group of 4 £100+. No food, only lager 👍

Very pleasant visit on Christmas day. Staff excellent.

Came here for a late breakfast with friends and family. There was 8 of us and we were all happy with our food. The breakfast wraps went down well. Staff were friendly and service was good. Thankyou

I encountered a problem and gave a poor review. In a very short time Tom the General Manager contacted me. He promised to rectify the issue I had raised and did exactly as he promised. The problem could have been avoided, and I guess both parties were culpable. Tom reacted quickly, kept his promise, so I retracted my comments, and will definitely eat and drink at this location again. Thanks Tom.

Was told the food would take half hr got starters with was lovely. Then 1 hr 20 mins later we asked how long it would take it then come mu mixed grill was a show freezing cold .my partners burger freezing really bad to be fair. The staff was nice think they was embarrassed about it didn't touch any the food and they gave us a refund straight away.couldnt really give the service a better score although they were lovey as soon as a party entered all staff concentrated on them I'm 💯 sure our food was left standing as soon as we asked were it was it came out

On arrival, we were told only breakfast till midday??? We were served straight away at the bar and ordered 2 breakfasts and drinks. The food took over an hour to arrive at our table. The food looked okay, but it was so bland, it was cheap. Did not reflect the price....... I asked for a side plate for my bread and was given a tea saucer. I wouldn't eat there again. The toilets were a mess stains all over the walls and bins, lots of stuff on top of the toilet roll holders.

Average experience. Food was average pub grub but prices are reasonable and draft had an ok selection. Music was a bit too loud which made conversation harder. Would I come again, sadly probably not unless it was convenient like this time.

Disappointed, called to book a table for 10 for a work's charity day lunch which was ok, although was asked twice had I looked online. Turned up 15 mins before booking was due at 12 to be asked if we'd booked. Yes and then we were told by the bar lady "well theres a problem in the kitchen I dont know how long you'll have to wait". I asked did she have a rough idea and she said no. Then I asked how long they'd known for and in the most snotty tone I was asked "why?" I replied because we had a booking and someone should have called us to let us know! She eventually went to the kitchen to check how long it would be and she said about 40 mins but still wasnt 100% sure. We luckily were able to go across to The Book who were happy to see us and food was lovely. Appreciate you cant help having issues, but letting customers know and not being snotty are the basics in customer service. We do monthly charity days in my work and wont be recommending.

Busy Fri, tables not cleared and floors untidy....staff lovely. Garden and furniture needs updating... path nightmare for kids with tarmac battered. But still great sun trap

The function room could do with a refurb. Plaster has come away from the walls by the fire exit door and evidence of damp resulting in the carpet stinking. Management must be aware of the problem as its plain to see. The function room is used on a Tuesday and Thursday for people with learning disabilities and I feel the management should ensure the safety of all at the venue.

Great pub with great food and the staff are lovely. We met up with some friends and had a relaxing afternoon.

Parking fee disgusting for customers.I was not aware of this because I haven’t visited the Sefton for many years.I very rarely go out anymore due to disability.I saw sign but didn’t have phone with me.I made the mistake of believing I would be ok if I was solely going in the Sefton and spending money as a customer and also being a blue badge holder.I spent a pleasant couple of hours there having a catch up with old friend and was absolutely disgusted to receive a £100 fine in the post two weeks later.I will not be going back there and will not be recommending it to anyone else.

this is the go to!! place for myself and family never had a bad meal or pint come to think of it only ever go there as i know we will be welcomed and have a enjoyable experience 5 star my faith has been restored after paul and tom quashed my car park fine from euro car parks better parking signage is now in practice and staff instructed to make aware to customers parking protocol take my advice have a lovely meal there............... and log in to the parking brilliant venue

The Vibe Liverpool provides social activities for adults with additional needs. Every Tues evening and Thursday afternoon we are in The Sefton Arms. We have a ball! The management and bar staff are so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. We are all totally accepted and believe me, this is not always the experience that we have. Come and join us anytime

Not somewhere to go if you're over 20, Friday early evening was full of 18 year olds. Had to walk past 7 door people to get in who were less than welcoming. First pub I've been in where people were openly vaping.

Used to be a village pub. Has since changed to a boutique place. Drinks have become over priced, wouldnt mind but the drinks are served in warm glasses or not in the glasses they are supposed to be served in... sorry we run out of san miguel glasses so heres a coors glass... (for those who think thats prententious or silly, each glass is designed for the alcohol its served in, if you pay top price for the drink I'd expect it to be served in the glass its supposed to be in). Place needs to remember the locals who don't just attend when it's sunny or of a friday/Saturday near payday. Needs to remember the locals who went in of a Monday-Thursday. The people who go as its their local. Will lose a lot of trade. Sad to see.

Fantastic afternoon out at the Sefton. Had lovely tasty food served by fab staff. Friendly & helpful- definitely booking again, will make this our regular 'ladies that lunch' afternoon out with my buddies.

Used to be good food in here, lately it’s been a discrace, went there about a month ago, and got a mixed grill and my chicken breast was pink in the middle, I got a new piece of steak as the original one had more fat in it than Rick Waller, I gave it to the fella next to me as he had been told there was no steak even tho he asked for it before I got the new piece. I felt sly on him. We went today, me and the Mrs got fish and chips, the fish tasted like it was out of the Mersey and had more batter on than it had fish. Most shocking of all was my little girl had chicken nuggets and chips, the nuggets were ice cold in the middle, but they had cooked batter on them. (Warm ups), we where told “oh we carnt replace them the oil in the fryer isn’t right” yet they managed to batter the hell out of our fish. The staff are belters and always have been, but the gaff has went right down hill in regards to food, won’t be going here again especially not with my family.

went in this morning to see what it like the food was hot , had to ask for our main think they forgot . toast crumbled when bit in too over done and bacon were is the bacon. asked for a burger for my son got told there was none then customer next to us on next till asked and so I waited till they brought it out to see if they got burger and she did . why? drinks over priced and food over priced forwhat u get . won't be going back and used to be a lovely place to eat but u do need music . too quiet it's like an old person's pub. were they go for quiet time .customer service of the young lad at bar was exceptional . Well done. need to smile more in there too staff look miserable .

Brilliant beer garden could do with the aircon on inside and a few extra staff but a good place for a scoop in the sun

Like a few people I didn't spot any parking signs outside the pub and failed to notice any signs inside referring to the fact there was a charge - staff didn't mention it either. Having to pay for a customer car park is highly unusual (most pubs let customers park for free!) - seems like a money grab to me - now I've been sent a £100 fine notice. Won't be going back!

Bit rubbish today! 6 mature adults meeting for lunch. Special meal deal -2 courses for £6.99. Sausage meals were awful, really dry. Not many chips on just a portion of chips. Halloumi sandwich was really dry, no butter, halloumi was dried up. Dessert was nice - crumble and custard. Had to attract the attention of staff in order to get desserts. Pub wasn't very busy despite teles showing the races at Aintree. Ladies toilet really shabby, hand drier cold air, no toilet seats. Very disappointed.

Had an issue when I came for food with my daughter regarding parking and a fine received that shouldn’t have been issued. Raised the issue and this matter has been dealt with very promptly and brought a resolution. Really please with how they dealt with this .. really professional manor. Food on the day was really nice too. Will be back 👍

Great food and great atmosphere for a pub. Me and my wife went there for lunch after a walk with our baby at Croxteth Park, we shared the egg & avocado crumpets and the hunters chicken toastie. Both delicious. For desert we had a triple chocolate brownie, and it was to die for. All of this with a cidder and a cappuccino we paid £30 (great value for quality presented). We'll be back again, for sure 👍

We went in after a funeral service on fridat 10th of Feb 23. No notice and about 15 of us went in for breakfast. The girl who served us was lovely. Really fast, really patient and got everything just right. I think she had been off for a bit and it was her first day back. She was brilliant anyway. Thanks so much.

Great idea making the car park pay and display. I can now call in for a quick pint on my way home from a hard days work and actually find a place to park. Before it was full of people going shopping or the chippy. Great pub and staff.

Terrible. This place classes itself as wheelchair accessible,well they're wrong. Brought my grandad (permently in a wheel chair) down for a pre birthday drink and was told the beer garden was wheelchair accessible. With the pictures which are attached will show you that them saying...

We came here christmas day and can honestly say it's the nicest Christmas dinner we've ever had out. The atmosphere was lovely felt relaxed and calm and was overall a gorgeous day 👌🏼 thank you to everybody for making it a fab day ❤️

I went in on Sunday morning for a breakfast and I ordered a pint of coke £3.20 day light robbery. You need to look at this because it's discussing charging that price for a coke.

I came in here on Saturday the 10th of December. I won't be going again. I did not see a single person who actually looked old enough to be there. After going to the other local bars in the area it appears this is common knowledge. No wonder the neighbours complain.

I have been going to the Sefton Arms since the 80s. I live out of Liverpool now how ever when we visit West Derby we call in. Very clean and service is great staff are helpful and polite. On this occasion I had a Guiness and it was very good. We have eaten as a family and the food is great.

Be careful with this pub, dropped in for quick drink with friends, less than an hour, non alcholic for me as i was driving, only to get a parking fine 2 weeks later for £100, not one member of staff mentioned anything about paying for...

Be careful visiting this pub and parking your car. The pub car park is operated by a parking company and there is a charge. Yes, I know, who ever heard of paying for pub car parking. An outrageous money grab. The pub website does not...
