Closed down after barely any time, matey thought this was London so he could charge ridiculous money. Food was mid at best, leaning heavily towards mediocre. May as well have just wrote my review in the menu would've done more to sell the place than your pathetic failed attempt to revive the place. A microwave meal for a quid at Aldi has more flavour than the slop he served here. Bro didn't know how to run a business and it shows. Everyone on the tele is just arrogant lol.

Insulting sized portions with no flavour but big price.

This was quite honestly the worst dining experience of my 35 years. The pizzas were reasonable, but everything else about the whole experience was shameful from the owners of this place. From the carelessly written, tone deaf confirmation email after booking, the terrified staff who had clearly received absolutely no training or information from those in charge, to the man who I can only assume was a duty manager refusing to acknowledge me until threatening to 'Take me outside' when enquiring about our deserts that were ordered 35 minutes ago. The owners of this shambles should be ashamed of their selves.

Disappointed, lovely staff but poor food. Alarm bells started when I asked for a wine list, only to be told there wasn’t one. Menu was presented but not remotely like the sample menu on their website, only a choice of three main courses if you didn’t want pizza, the plaice (which was labelled lemon sole on the receipt) was very bland, the tiramisu dessert was the worst I’ve tasted, literally swimming in cold coffee. Vastly overpriced for what we got, will not be returning. Avoid at all costs and go to the chippy down the road if you want decent fish for a fraction of the price.

Booked a pod several weeks for a Tuesdsy night a few weeks ago to find that they decided to close the pub on Monday and Tuesdays due to lack of customers and therefore cancelled our reservation. They have a no show fee of £120 if you book a pod, we were charged that fee even though they cancelled our reservation. Tried to call 4 or 5 times and no answer, went down to speak to the manager on the Wednesday and there was not a single person in there and 3 staff. We are still waiting to hear from them (on Thursday), then drove past and find they are closed again. I must admit I liked this place but something isn't right and I can't put my finger on it. They only seem to want to serve pizzas (which are great), the main menu taste great too. Maybe it is the astro turf on the outside or that you can only pizza outside and nothing else. Perhaps have some entertainment on like a live band and adapt the menu to the area. Staff can come across particularly rude and seem like they don't care. Quite a few fake reviews on Google to boost the star rating.

We had a pod booked, which cost £100, the pod was cute, but our evening was terrible. We arrived at 4:30pm to be told there was only 3 drinks through tap, a cider, fruity cider and Guiness. No wine and limited cocktails. It’s extremely pricey for a cocktail which was poured out of a bag. So we sit in our pod, for half a hour, chatting to be told we need to order food because otherwise we won’t get any as they’re closing. It states that food was open until 9pm. So we felt rushed and wasn’t given a menu, we had to go and ask. Then told it’s only pizza because it was all turned off. The gentleman that was serving was very kind but the one lady with piercings behind the bar was very blunt and rude. Then, at 6:15pm told they were shutting. We had our pod booked and had to leave early. I came into the bar and asked if I had time for another drink and the staff were sat the other side of the bar drinking (which it’s bank holiday have a drink) I was sighed at had and had an eye roll and bluntness. I work in hospitality myself and I’d never dream of treating customers like some of your staff. We were made to feel unwelcome, rushed, and over charged.

Coronation Bank Holiday Monday lunch time. Sooo disappointed. No wine, and I mean NO wine at all!! Only one lager and one beer on tap. Gin and tonic only option for my wife...No lemon! (but shop opposite open!!!) only food option was a pizza. Out side, very untidy and messy - no one there, half eaten pizzas left on tables, straws on floor, cushions untidy. tables just left looking like the morning after a party. Asked for manager, not available. Advice - 1. Get staff in who care and understand hospitality. 2. If your web site offers a choice of dinning experiences then at least offer more than just pizzas. 3. Clear outside area up, get rid of wet slippery artificial grass, looks dreadful and a plastic 'living' wall! Sorry, could have been such a great place and had hopes of a great experience. Unfortunately it won't be around long.

Popped in for a drink. Food smelt and looked delicious so will definitely be back for a meal. Inside is extremely tasteful and the service was very professional and friendly. Outside was quite a surprise! The pods are amazing, the garden is beautiful. Can't wait yo come back in the warmer weather to sit outside and eat pizza and drink wine.

Fabulous new place in Newent just opened. Very elegant and a great place for drinks and food. Completely different to when it was the poorly run Red Lion. A must for food lovers to try and very friendly staff managed by Niki. A great addition to Newent.

I ordered house special fried rice it had virtually no flavour at all and was lukewarm. I also ordered Chinese spareribs these were awful The meat was hard and stale and the ribs were just warmed up and poured very weak sauce over the top I rang and complained and I was told if you don’t like them don’t bloody buy them. As a Chinese chef. This person is a disgrace to Chinese food he certainly does not know how to cook will never ever go there again.

This is the only pub at the top end of Lydney and a handy watering hole if you are staying at the motel two or three minutes' walk away. Good range of beers which for me as a refugee from Surrey are offered at extremely attractive prices.
