Popped in for a coffee with parents to see residents and friends since I stopped working there.

Wychwood pantry provides lite bites in informal setting, which just happens to be in a high quality residential home ( think more hotel du vin decor rather than NHS ). Like anywhere can be quiet or very busy, but Sara, the Spanish owner will always give you a warm welcome. Small but varied menu

I went to the Wychwood Pantry because the website made the cafe look absolutely lovely. When I got there, it transpired that it's a cafe set in some kind of residential home/sheltered housing complex. Not a problem at all - I think it's a great idea, but it didn't match up to the website at all. There was no deli, that I could see, and the menu was a grotty piece of paper on the counter. I was the only customer there, and I felt really uncomfortable. That being said, it was clean, and the service was good, I was very disappointed by the experience as it was nothing like what I was expecting. I don't know if it has moved premises or something, but I think the website is very misleading and should be more honest about what this place is and what is on offer. I won't be returning.

A friend and I had Saturday brunch buffet. It was lovely food great value for money and lots of vegetarian for me and I didn't feel like I was missing out as I do in some places. If you have not tried the food here you have missed out, the best place to eat in the Wychwoods. Staff are very accommodating if there is anything you want changing or any preferences they are always willing to help. Go along and take a look lovely lunches, lovely coffee and scrumptious cakes. It is in the Paddocks just keep on walking when you get in there or follow the gorgeous smells of cooking.

We dined in here on Sunday night for an after work meal for 7 people at 7:30pm. I pre-ordered the food to help out as they stopped serving food at 8pm and closed at 8:30pm. Having worked in the restaurant business before, I know how helpful this can be for larger groups. Throughout the booking process and pre-ordering over their social media page, I felt I was spoken to very unprofessionally. A couple of messages came across quite rude, I felt like we were an inconvenience to them because of the time we booked for. This is something that was out of our control and our booking was within their opening of business hours. Upon arrival for our booking, the server made it abundantly clear that “the sooner we ate and paid, the sooner she could go home” with a comment she made. She probably meant no harm by it but it wasn’t very professional and again backed up the feeling of our booking being an inconvenience. The food was really good though when it came out, I don’t think anyone didn’t enjoy it. Throughout our meal the server was slamming the lids shut on the wooden benches which made a few of us jump. She did apologise on the 1st occasion but then continued to do it, making it hard for us to have a conversation. After clearing our plates the server then immediately brought over the bill to us (without us asking for it) which gave us the impression of “pay up and leave” despite there still being a bit of time before closure. A few of us were wanting to buy more drinks which would have added to our bill and more profit for the business. This lead us to go elsewhere for drinks. We knew closing time was 8:30pm and wouldn’t have stayed beyond that. Furthermore, when we went to pay, it seemed like an inconvenience for us to all pay separately for what we had. We were really looking forward to this after a 12 hour shift but the service really let our experience down. I’m not sure we’d dine in again because of this and this experience has unfortunately led to this review.

Habibs was amazing; it is such a shame it's closed down now. They should be proud of the food they were making.

Great place to drink and chill. The staff welcome you with a smile and the service is faultless. A great venue for any occasion.
