Warm welcome from Louise and the team at The Woodman for a wake following a family funeral. Clear communication when booking and all the arrangements were spot on. Just the right spread for the buffet and a great range of drinks available. Excellent access for wheelchair users and those less steady on their feet. Thanks for managing this event with such professionalism and dignity!

We had attended a family funeral on firday and as the wake wasn’t satarting untill later on that evening we decided to go to the woodmans for a drink there was about 15-20 of us but the pub wasn’t busy and we all decided to seat outside as there was going to be a few of us there me and my husband arrived first to which was a welcome to a pub I’ve never experienced the the rest of my husbands family arrived to comments like ‘look how many there is of them’ and then was asked if they could seat outside The whole thing felt like we were back in the 60/70’s no dog no black no Irish kind of thing I’ve never experienced any thing like this and was just glad no of us had children with us to witness this ! No on at all in 2024

We gathered as a family after a funeral, and I wasn't expecting much from the buffet food after a recent experience elsewhere. However there was a great choice of sandwiches, mini quiches and other finger foods. Best of all from my point of view that each platter was clearly labelled with the name of the item and all common allergens highlighted. This makes things so much easier for those of us with food intolerance. Thank you again!

Hosted our late mums wake at The Woodman Ruislip and applaud them for their professionalism and discreet dignity in handling the day which was very difficult for us. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the food was amazing and plentiful. I would certainly recommend them if needing a quiet venue after the funeral of your loved one. Many thanks to all the staff.

We booked this venue for the wake after my mum's funeral. It was the first time I had been here as previously I have used other venues for wake's but decided to give this venue a go for a change. From my very first telephone enquiry right through to the day of the wake itself the staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. They were simply brilliant, every one of them. The food we ordered was excellent and I had many comments afterwards about how much people had enjoyed the food. The staff were really friendly to all the guests and made the whole event as stress free as they possible could. Not only would I highly recommend this venue but I will certainly use this venue again in the future. The only downside, which to be fair did not affect us, is that they do have quite a small car park but they are open about that on their website so that really should not come as a surprise.

First time visiting as I was attending a wake. Staff were very polite and friendly. Shame we just missed out on food. Cosy pub.

We can't thank the staff enough for the lovely celebration of mum/nans life. Nothing was too much trouble and we were well looked after. Lovely food and the private function room was excellent which enabled us to play the songs of our choice and a slideshow of times gone by.

I sadly had the privilege of hosting my mum's wake at the Woodman pub, and I couldn't have asked for a more comforting and thoughtful experience. Louise and her incredible team went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect on this somber occasion. The staff, managed by Louise were impeccably dressed, very professional and offered a warmth with their attentive service, it made all the difference as they seamlessly catered to our needs throughout the event. The finger food they provided was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, adding a touch of elegance to the gathering. What truly touched my heart was the personal touch Louise and her team added by playing a slideshow of my mum's photos and her favorite music on the TV. It created a truly heartwarming and nostalgic atmosphere, allowing us to celebrate her life in a meaningful way. As usual The Woodman is amazing. The staff, especially Lou are all so lovely 🥰 We were a family of 11 including children and 2 dogs. Nothing is too much trouble. And the food is heavenly. I’m lucky to have this place as my ‘local’

We booked The Woodman for the gathering after a family funeral. It was perfect. Lou and her team were extremely helpful with everything. They were so proactive with the organisation and making sure everything was exactly as we wanted it. On the day they made us so welcome and the food and service was wonderful. The garden was full of the most beautiful tubs and hanging baskets and the interior was just perfect. The food was freshly prepared with a good variety to cater for all diets and the staff served the food and were very friendly and attentive. We would thoroughly recommend this venue and thank everyone at the Woodman for all their hard work. The Gwyn Family

After attending the funeral service of our dear beloved Father/in law/Grandad/friend, Dennis, we asked the guests to come back to this pub and share a few drinks in his memory. Didn’t book in advance as we were unsure how many would turn up, so finally almost 30 guests came with us. Luckily enough we chose a great venue, as the staff, Lou, Kim and all, were so extremely helpful, kind and very courteous. They sorted out a nice area to sit everyone down, arranged a tab for the drinks with no problem at all and made some lovely sandwich’s for all to enjoy…..all at very short notice as we just turned up out of the blue. Next time we’ll most definitely arrange something with them well beforehand They all really made what was a sad day, into a much happier memory and myself and my family are forever grateful for the kindness they showed us all. What can I say. What a lovely place. First time this neck of the woods. Writing this from the beer garden. Great selection of beers and ciders etc…Brilliant outdoor areas for a sunny day which it is. Pizza night tonight which is perfect! Loads of families, kids and dogs here enjoying the evening. Staff are absolutely fantastic. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area!

We had my husband's Uncle's wake at the Woodmans. Lou the manager was really great, sympathetic and professional. We had a lovely lunch in the bar on the right with 30 guests. The food was fresh and delicious and served to everyone. It was just a perfect send off and all the staff were professional and kind. It's a really lovely, well kept pub with great food and service.

We came here for my partner’s mum’s wake - his sister had booked but when we got there they said they didn’t have a booking, made us sit outside and told us they couldn’t serve us “12 separate lunches” as though it was unfair to except them to. It is a pub that serves food and we had booked so I don’t think it was at all unreasonable!! And anyway they should have been apologetic, not irritable, given it was their mistake and that it was an upsetting occasion anyway. They also wouldn’t let us set up a tab as apparently “people don’t pay them.” They eventually agreed to do a sandwich platter and when we ordered they said they had vegan cheese - but in the end they just brought out a bowl chips and a handful of salad for me instead, as though that were a proper meal. The sandwich platter was so measly that everyone was still hungry and then the final insult was that it cost a whopping £70 - and that’s not including all the money we spent on drinks. What upset me the most was how unfriendly and unaccommodating they were, which given that we’d booked and the sad nature of the occasion, was unkind as well as unprofessional. Would definitely not recommend.

We held my Dad’s celebration at The Woodman last week. Steve, Louise, Hannah and the rest of the staff were really supportive and helpful during the planning and on the day. Everyone who came thought the food was plentiful and really tasty, and serving the food worked much better than a buffet. Also having a slideshow with photos of my Dad on the tv also worked well. The venue was perfect for the occasion. Thanks to everyone.

Visited this pub for the 4th time. Fabulous food, good quality and good portions. Sandwiches come with crisps and home made slaw. Delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful and Lou goes out her way to accommodate. There’s a separate area you can book for a special occasion and being close to Breakspear crematorium such a friendly pub to ponder your thoughts. Highly recommend. Put this pub on your revisit list 😃

Came here with family after my aunt's funeral. The Woodman proved to be an excellent venue to host the relatives and friends - friendly, hospitable, great atmosphere, great service and food.

Held a wake there catering for 20 people unexpectedly 50 people turned up staff did everything they could to help out plenty of tea and coffee all staff were lovley and friendly food was great would certainly go back again on happier circumstances

Small pub parking for about 7 cars,make sure you turn your car around when you in as no turning room if full, menu not great only snacks, went to breakspear Arms top of road and had a great meal .

I first went to The Woodman a few weeks ago. I've always passed it & thought it looked nice. This is not in my area (Pinner) as I live in Norfolk. However this nice little pub was where a wake took place. The food was very good and staff excellent. They told me they do serve lunch but not dinner which was a pity. Certainly I would visit again when I'm that way which is about 4 times a year.

Great pub. The listed saloon bar maintains it's historic ambience, whilst also offering an excellent selection of drinks and service that really is a cut above the average pub.

We visited the woodman today, and me and my wife had some food I ordered ham egg and chips and my wife had cottage pie this was the most delicious pub food we have ever had and staff very friendly if your ever passing this...

Friendly, really nice outdoor area, very dog friendly. Menu is very basic, which isn't a bad thing but think you expect a bit more because the outdoor area looks so fancy! 😂 It's perfect to sit and have a bite to eat and a pint after a walk.

What a wonderful pub the Woodman is .... Being so close to the Crematorium , it was an obvious choice, as our family and friends could leave their cars and stroll over to the pub. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, accommodating and friendly....

We visited the Woodman for lunch, what a lovely place. We received a very warm welcome, sat outside under the heaters and was toasty warm. The food was delightful and not overpriced. Definitely worth a visit, it’s a little gem. Highly recommend .

Had a wake there recently, had our own private room with bar and toilets, lovely and warm inside with the fire going, great buffet supplied and served to guests with a good variety of food.

Just had the cod, hallumi, chips and peas with my wife, nephew, his wife and their little 6 year old girl and it was delicious. Sat outside in the heated pub eating area with the food along with a lovely cold glass of beer, white wine and apple juice ... what a lovely change from traditional fish and chips, and what a lovely, friendly group of people cooking and serving the food from the 'van'. Do give it a try .... we will definitely come again.... thank you all for a very pleasant evening meal.

We had a memorial on Tuesday to celebrate my late husbands life. The staff were wonderful making everyone welcome and couldn't do enough for us. I can't thank them enough. They served food and drinks with smiles and chatted to everyone. What a lovely team of staff. A very big thank you. Valerie xx

Really love this small local pub. Really welcoming not over crowded. One of the best small Beer gardens I've been to. Beautifully decorated with flowers and edible grapes. Very stunning. Beer and service is great. Great place for small families or quiet drink. Staff are very approachable and friendly, who are easy to talk to. Cocktails are really good and they garnish and present classics like Pims very well, with lots of summer fruits. It is quite small inside but in my opinion gives it more of a character. Food choices is very limited and they only serve this on the week days. Ranging mainly from sandwiches to Jacket potatos and Afternoon teas. Really great find. Will easily become my local. Just found out the garden was decorated by a local customer, who does it as a hobby and maintains it. Worth it just to see this of course with a drink in your hand!😁

Excellent service, nice people, lovely outdoor terrace, lovingly flowered. Discreet Outdoor heaters under a grape canopy! 5 sandwich and 3 main options for lunch M to F 12 till 3 only ("welcome to eat your ordered in finger food") The nearby road is pretty noisy - they have done their best to counteract it. Lovely feel to the place. Will be returning. (Neck Oil on tap !!)
