I decided to visit The Wonky Cake Cafe today especially being the 1st August and it being Yorkshire Day. This was my first visit to this particular Cafe. I fancied the Traditional Full English Breakfast which you can have before 11:30, I arrived at 11:00. I was not disappointed it was very nice and very recommendable.I thought i cannot leave without having one of their great selection of cakes. i had the Bakewell Tart which was very enjoyable. The ladies who work there are all very pleasant, service is slick and the young guy who also works there is also a credit to the Cafe. So if your ever in the Yorkshire Dales please do support and visit this Cafe its a hidden gem. Alex

We had two visits to Wonky and got little to no welcome either time. It seems to do quite well, considering it is a bit off the beaten track. Coffee is reasonable and the cakes are nice and far from wonky. The other food we had was fine. Cash is preferred. Waitress service inside or order and pay at the counter if you are sitting outside.

We visited for coffee and cake one morning in Settle and as soon as we walked through the door we were instantly hit with the lovely smells of the recently served breakfast dishes. The waitress who served us was very sweet and the cakes were yummy. Although we were warned about orders taking time to get ready, we waited a considerable about of time for a few drinks and cakes. However, we wouldn’t let this discourage us from going again as the atmosphere was so cosy.

A beautiful little cafe and tea room, pleasantly decorated with the best selection of homemade classic cakes I've ever seen. Definite Miss Marple afternoon tea vibes. If you want the old school afternoon tea experience I can't recommend it enough. Very dog friendly which was a huge bonus for me. The Wonky Cake Cafe is my new go to when I'm in Settle.

Lovely cafe just off the Main Street. The owner and staff were lovely. The cafe has a wonderful and welcoming environment. Very dog friendly. The cakes are predominantly made by the owner, not sure when she gets chance to sleep! We tried a gluten free cake, a vegan cake and a Victoria sponge all of which were moist and delicious. If you are in Settle please support this wonderful , quirky cafe x

This is such a lovely place to eat. The food and coffee is to die for. Only problem I had was their machine wasn’t accepting cards so you needed cash. A dog, friendly café where they are made to feel welcome and are provided with water. I would thoroughly recommend this place and will be back this afternoon for the cakes which are apparently a speciality as they are nearly all home-made.

This is a very friendly cafe. There’s plenty of cakes including several gluten free. The front is very deceptive it’s bigger inside than out. All cakes are home made. Apart from one white chocolate cake. I had what is chocolate gunness cake. Very nice, it definitely felt like almost the same recipe used at home. The staff as I said superb and very chatty. I don’t think WiFi is on offer, but it does give a break from technology.

I can only assume that our experience at The Bay Horse fell far below their usual standards. If everyone encountered what we did, I imagine they wouldn't stay in business for long. First and foremost, I want to highlight that the front-of-house staff were excellent. They were attentive, genuinely apologetic for the issues we faced, and did everything within their power to make things right. Their efforts did not go unnoticed. However, despite their best efforts, we did not have a good experience. The service was painfully slow, even though the pub was only about half full on the evening we visited. We ended up skipping dessert because of the delay. It wasn’t due to the staff being idle—they were busy throughout—but it appeared to be a case of understaffing, which unfortunately impacted the overall service. As for the food, it left a lot to be desired. The children's meals were of poor quality—cheap, unappetizing, and served in meagre portions. Just because it's a children's menu doesn't mean it should consist of food that most adults would refuse to eat. The "pie of the day," a steak and ale pie, was another disappointment. The meat was dreadful—over 70% fat and completely inedible due to the excessive fat and cartilage. While the staff explained that the meat was pre-diced and purchased externally, it’s hard to believe that the poor quality wasn’t noticed during preparation. On the positive side, the pastry and gravy were quite good, but the vegetables were only lukewarm. Two of us ordered the pie, and neither of us could finish it due to the poor quality. To their credit, the staff did not charge us for these meals, as they were clearly unacceptable. Another mishap occurred when one member of our party ordered gammon but was instead served scampi. The scampi was only on the menu due to a lack of fishcakes, so it’s baffling how the kitchen mixed up these orders. The ticket was correct, meaning the error was entirely on the kitchen’s part. By the time the gammon eventually arrived, most of our party had already finished their meals. We chose this venue because it is part of the Vintage Inns chain, which is known for reliable quality in our area. Unfortunately, this visit did not live up to those standards. Being in the area for only two nights, this experience really disrupted our plans for dining out. I can only commend the front-of-house staff for their sincere apologies and genuine attempts to rectify the situation. However, they have no control over the kitchen, which is clearly where the real issues lie. It's a shame, as their efforts were overshadowed by the kitchen's shortcomings.

We've visited many times and chosen from the breakfast menu which has always been first class. However today I decided to choose a punjabi lunch special which was brown lentil Dahl yogurt, salad and freshly made chapati, oh my word it was first class. Well worth the 36 mile round trip. The owner & waitress are lovely, so friendly and helpful and seem very genuine that you enjoy your visit. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

A small coffee shop at the bottom of the main street in Grassington. I only had a hot drink, but the food looked good and the waitress was saying that the cakes/scones on display were fresh that day and home-made as was the soup. So it's very nice to know that.
