Warm welcome Melt in the mouth beef from there Carver. Lush homemade stuffing all served with a smile. Would I recommend definitely.

Great pub and lovely walks all around. Good choice of food. If you fancy Sunday Carvery, it’s advisable to book, as they may refuse walk ins.

Great Sunday lunch with Mum, siblings and other halves. Friendly, helpful and attentive staff who also helped me with Mum’s meal at the carvery as she was unable to queue.

Doesn’t happy often. A 5 star review. Perfect pub. Came here visiting my parents and they said this pub was nice. It’s not nice, it’s an experience. INCREDIBLE service, I haven’t seen a land lady work a pub like this in years. Brilliant food, literally fantastic food. Atmosphere was lovely too. The Carvery must be the best for miles. Again the service and management is very good, they run a good ship, have fun and are friendly to customers. It’s a shame this isn’t my local!!!

Very nice location, gets very busy and food was lovely. I had the hunters chicken, which was so tasty, followed by the sticky ginger pudding, yummy!

Local pub hence friendly atmosphere. I think it was the owner who came over and asked if everything's ok which was nice. Not a great choice of meals and the size of portions were rather on the smaller side. I don't want to discourage anyone with my review - maybe it was us, but we will not be back.

Recently moved to the village and have met a few friends here for Sunday lunch, lunch or coffee and a cake. Absolutely fantastic food! Today was exceptional and returning on Sunday (again). The beer is fresh, food is gorgeous and every member of staff that I have met have been fantastic. Lucky to have this as my new local x

What a brilliant country pub, loads of atmosphere, very friendly and efficient staff and service. We had no kitchen, so decided to go out for lunch, what a good idea, four of us had a carvery. (Beef and bacon) with a good selection of veg. One had gammon steak, chips and peas with eggs. Good selection of deserts. Very good value for money. Should have taken pictures but were too busy eating the delicious food, even the dog got a treat. We will be back very soon.

What a lovely traditional country pub, me and. My partner stumbled across the winterbourn as we where driving to Swindon, we where greeted really warmly all the staff where lovely the food was great and you can tell there is a lot of love gone into the running and management of the establishment, all the staff looked like they where happy and engaged and the land lady was really great, hopefully our travels will bring us back. I highly recommend giving them a go if you’re in the area. We had a great time thank you so much everyone ❤️

Had a very enjoyable Sunday meal for large group of family and friends for husband's birthday. Very friendly staff. Although it was extremely busy the service was good and food was very tasty.

We found this local pub when meeting family half way for some lunch. We didn't book but staff and landlady were absolutely fabulous arranging a table for 6 for us. The food was fantastic and staff were some of the friendliest and lively people I've seen in a long time. The venue was a perfect family pub, with lots of photos on the walls of locals and family, making it very warmly. We had two toddlers with us, and the staff were nothing but welcoming of children and other punters interacted with my children when having thier lunch. We will 100% be returning and could not recommend higher. Thank you

We were there on a Sunday afternoon and overnight so didn’t get a chance to sample the food. We’ll go back though as the staff were super friendly and the car park was flat. We did have coffee which was delicious.

Nice enough staff but a weird place. Chose not to sit next to the dead people shrine, chose under the cobwebs instead. The priciest steak was average at best - underwhelming experience overall. Would not return. EDIT: Owner excused the weird vibe by suggesting this is normal for a "community village pub" - it is not.

Tuesday night steak night was a nice end to a days cycling. Made to feel welcome definitely worth a detour of the King Alfred Way

I stayed in the village for a week & visited the Winterbourne Arms several times, as I felt like a "temporary local" & even joined in with bingo night. Staff & customers really friendly & welcoming. Excellent beer!

Called in for Sunday lunch on off chance when passing traveling home from our hols, what a lovely place, the staff/landlady were very welcoming even though they were really busy they got us a table, the carvery was amazing, everything tasted freshly made the meat was really tender, we even had a desert as they looked so good. Thankyou we will come back soon.

Stayed at premier Inn no food available looked for nearest food found this pub had good reviews and well deserved food was lovely decent portions well worth a visit👍

It was quiet when we stopped for a break. Had a quick snack of crispy prawns. Well, attention to detail, presentation, along with the server, who was extremely pleasant, friendly and accommodating, made this stop-off a winner.

A pub with visual potential... Otherwise: Good food, delicious ale, very service-oriented boss and her "girls". Unfortunately there was a "rock bingo" taking place in the evening, which made our conversation with our (host) friend almost impossible because of the noise. Special: The landlady is quite "special"...but despite her sometimes "rustic" appearance, she's a kind of lovely woman...

Me and my partner have been here on a few occasions, always welcoming and proper home cooked food. Called in on the off chance for luch today, it was fully booked but they found a space for us as the young girl behind the bar recognised us. Lovey carvery, highly recommend this lovely pub 😍

We had a fabulous family Sunday lunch here. It's such a lovely welcoming pub, the staff are so friendly. The carvery was really good with a great selection of fresh vegetables. We all enjoyed it very much

A great country pub in a picturesque Wiltshire village. The staff were incredibly welcoming and nothing was of much trouble for them. We chose the Sunday roast beef carvery. Great choice. The meal was superb. As much as we could eat, and home cooked through and through. We should add that we were visiting with our dog. He was also made very welcome and certainly ‘looked after’ by the staff! I will say no more. All in all, a great experience… probably the best dog friendly pub we’ve ever visited… and we’ve visited a fair few! We’ll definitely be back.

The team here are very friendly. They have great banter and remember their regular customers' names and drinks preferences. Food is a tad pricey, but worth the money. There's always a lovely atmosphere, especially for carvery or Rock 'n' Roll bingo.

Come here if you like watching paint dry and enjoy being watched by the chef while you eat your food, also if you like to get a couple of cheeky cat hairs stuck in your teeth, this place is the one for you 😁👌🏻

I went there to park my car and with the plan to go the pub after it. We were more than 10 people using the pub after. A guy dressed as a chef came out and in a very rude way told me that it was private property and needed to move my car away. I wouldn't like to go back there.

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat, staff friendly and food was good. Very happy to see a welcoming face after our long journey. Dog was welcome and was given his own water bowl. Thank you for your service and refreshments

Phoned ahead, lovely reception. Popped in on route to Roche Court Sculpture Park. Atmosphere was light and friendly. Lots of choice on the menu, with real pie (pastry top and bottom), large choice of burgers too. We had Steak Pie, Mac Cheese, and burger. A good portion of each. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Toilets clean and fresh. Bar and table seasonally decorated.

Stopped here for lunch on 14th December as a spur of the moment choice. Best decision we have made for a long time. We were warmly welcomed by the landlady and landlord. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food arrived quickly and was hot and well presented. Excellent portions and very tasty. We were never hurried. This is somewhere that we would definitely recommend to anyone and although it is not 'local' to us will be coming back in the future.

Amazing first visit with along with the in laws. We were over half an hour late but kept them informed of our delay. Very friendly landlady and serving staff. Carvery on Sunday was plentiful, delicious and exceptionally tasty. Finished off with the raspberry ripple sundae. Great atmosphere with friendly helpful staff, will visit again for an evening meal with friends!

Wow!!!!!! I'm from New Zealand and my friends took me here for dinner tonight. I was blown away by the hospitality and food. The food is home-made which you can definitely tell by the quality. I highly recommend this place!!!!

We took our granddaughter to Bournemouth for the day and planed to stop at the table to table pub at the Premier Inn in Salisbury, but no chef so no food so had to find somewhere else and what a wonderful place we found great food and drink, the waitress was just amazing, we are going back to Bournemouth in September and guess where we are stopping for dinner

Lovely place with a caring owner who brought my daughter some fudge bits as she doesn’t eat ice cream that comes with the kids meal. My fussy chef husband loved the sourdough baked Brie. All food cooked well to order. Can highly recommend if staying local or passing through.

Hard to judge the atmosphere when it's early evening but the rib eye was perfectly cooked and the Dorset apple cake superb. Good beer, great staff (very helpful and friendly) and food cooked very well, what more do you need? Oh yes, dog friendly too 🙂🙂 Can't add photos as nothing was left, but it did look good!

I had organised a evening meal and a game of Petanque. Food was good and Petanque was a game with a lot of banter. Our instructor for the evening was very good and explained the game very well. A very enjoyable evening which we will do again. Highly recommended.

Great food, really welcoming and friendly staff. I had the pork and chorizo burger and it was the best burger I've had in a while! Really accommodating of our almost 3 year old as well. Looking forward to coming back in the dry weather to take advantage of their beer garden and kids play area!

Was taking in some of the sights of Winterbourne Earl area and decided to stop in the only pub in the village to check it out. From the outside the pub looks great with a nice garden with a children's play area. Inside the place is a little more underwhelming with a relatively worn decor and the bar area plastered with family photos which was a little odd. We decided to stop for a bite to eat, and the pub does a carvery on a Sunday. The gents on the table next to us said it was really good, so we went for it. However it was arguably the worst Sunday roast / carvery we've ever had. All the vegetables were housed in a series of metal containers with lids to keep them warm (and I suspect that we were towards the end of service), so everything seemed discoloured and old/poor quality. The potatoes were a little like plastic and the cauliflower cheese had certainly seen better days. The meat was not much better, with the beef overcooked and chewy and the lamb very fatty. The staff were very friendly and the price was actually quite reasonable. Think it was £35 for two carvery's a pint and a diet coke. The place scored a 2 because the food was really not good. I suspect that if you get to the carvery right at the start of service, it might be better, but our experience was bad.

Brilliant pub and restaurant offering the best in old-fashioned hospitality that makes a pub outstanding. Delicious food served by cheerful, efficient Chloe. Excellent choices on the seasonal menu, beautifully presented with perfectly cooked vegetables to accompany meat , fish or vegetarian options. Good value for a great lunch. Highly recommended, well worth making the journey to this terrific country pub.

5 of us went for lunch yesterday. Highly recommended, comprehensive menu, friendly welcome, food plentiful and HOT. We weren’t rushed so able to chat and the Christmas decorations were amazing, a lot of effort put into making the pub look festive. Have already booked again.

We had an excellent meal here, the service was brilliant, if we come to Longleat next year it will be our go to place.

Lovely pub, walked in for supper as a table of 5 with 2 dogs and it smelled clean, not like stale beer as most pubs smell 😂 lovely service from Chloe (who has a big fan in our 3 year old) and great food. Fab play area and clean loos. We'll be visiting again soon!👌☺

Lovely country pub, exploring the surroundings having been to Stonehenge and making way to Salisbury. Called in when pasding as liked the look of it, very friendly and accommodating staff. Great menu full of crowd pleasers, substantial vegetarian dishes and vegan options. Great size meals, reasonably priced, a great find. Would definitely call back if in the area, recommended!
