I have eaten here a few months ago when there was a woman managing and the food was great! But came back the other day and saw the chef blowing his nose and not washing his hands then cooking my pizza!! :((((( Beer was also very flat which seems to be a common complaint at the pub Asked the manager behind the bar to please change it after I only had 1 sip and he refused? Very disappointing, we won’t be coming back

Without stress and within what London is, reasonable price

One of the after work regulars. Traditional British pub with great beer selection and awesome pizzas. Nice vibe inside with lots of space. Typically people spill out onto street when weather is good.

The Pizza was delicious and truthfully i have hardly had better. The beer is boring, but the biggest problem is the lady who describes herself as the manager. Aggressively rude and unbelievably confrontational over nothing. I hope the owner is not a relative because she should really be replaced by somethjng more welcomeing like a live aligator or the plague. No doubt she is employed via nepotism as she is totally unsuited to her role.

Smells like sweaty cheese in there, not sure why. Bar staff look like they would prefer to be in prisoner cell block A. Need some more beer options, otherwise great location and could be fantastic with the right management and staff.

I’m a regular at this establishment and have been going back and forth on this review. The pizza really good but that’s about it the pints are disappointing flat and smelly and they play music too loud. The attitude of the bar staff lately has persuaded the 2 stars. Hopefully management shake things up as would love to see the place as busy as other pubs in the area.

Good but not stellar beer selection. The staff are always friendly, the food looks delicious but I haven't had a chance to try it out.

The manager is beyond rude and clearly does not understand customer service or how to treat customers in the first place. Arrogance for no reason. Unbelievable

Popped in before a meal , was early so not that busy . The wine was good and service courteous didn’t have food so can’t comment on that .

Good pub for pizza and a few beers after work. They have a good selection of pizzas, which are freshly cooked and are of a high quality. Probably best to book a table if you're looking to eat.

The irish man working behind the bar was extremely rude. The beer I ordered tasted very stale and my friend agreed, I politely asked if he could re pour it or give me another beer but he instantly getting defensive and was in denial. He refused to pour another pint or refund me and claimed ‘that table over there didn’t complain’ when they had ordered completely different beers Very rude.

Lovely little pub! Nice and cosy and good pub vibes. Its major downfall is its beer. I have had to return a number of pints due to the beer stinking or tasting like bath water. The pub charges premium prices for its beer. We should be getting premium beer quality.

What looks like an omelette, but tastes like sand? The Windmill is the best place to figure this out. Honestly, such not a great food. Saddening.

A small but energetic bar tucked away at the edge of Shoreditch. Friendly staff provide a range of beers but the star is the pizza oven in the bar area. This does limit space and tables book out quickly, but it's worth popping in.

Good pizza to accompany your beer but the beer is almost all fizzy well-known keg craft beer or lager. Not much in the way of interesting beer but pleasant enough. Plenty of space once the post work crowd starts to thin out and it's reasonably comfortable. Staff are friendly and considerate, keeping the empties flowing back to be washed. Pizza smell very pervasive and comforting. Clever sales psychology I reckon.

An interesting pub on a fine balance between its heritage and modernity. Classic large windows and corner door. Large bar area with a great mix of seating options Great, reverse horseshoe bar. Good selection on tap and an add in rough and ready, in bar pizza service. There's an art deco heritage vibe in the style of original that remains.

The pizza was, as advised by a new friend, excellent!!!!!!!!!!

The pizza was excellent, and justifies visiting on its own. The staff were a bit grumpy and it was very noisy thanks to a table next to us having had too many.

Good pint of Guinness. Pizza is amazing and quick. Marinara sauce is on point.

Local work boozer. Staff are impressively miserable to the degree that raising a smile seems like a major achievement. Visited this evening and waited 50 minutes for 3 pizzas. £6.80 for a pint of Moretti. The only thing going for it is the proximity to my desk after work!

Lovely food and atmosphere. Prices are fairly cheap, and the service is great. A gem in the middle of the city.

'tis my local for drinks after work. normal prices, average to good ales. nice quiet atmosphere. Friendly bar staff. only thing i dont like is that they put loud music sometimes. i will continue on going there as long as i work close by.

Just ordered 2 large glasses of sauvignon blanc. probably the worst white wine I've ever tasted. £13.50 for 2 glasses. And the measurement was actually a small glass not large, although they insisted it was large when I challenged them. They have clearly reduced their measures and are using inferior wine. We couldn't finish it, and won't go back. Shame, as we used to like this place.

Nice city pub. Not too busy (well on a Tuesday evening anyway). Good choice of beer and the pizzas freshly made inside the pub looked great (although didn't get to try one - maybe next time).

Very moody unfriendly bar staff

After a promising refit the Windmill has taken a regressive stance on wine, serving in only one measure. There's no lock for the toilet door, or adequate extraction from the pizza oven which puffs out a gentle fug of garlic and cheese 😵‍💫

Lovely rustic pub that has excellent food at very reasonable prices. What is just as important were the friendly staff.

Hidden gem in the backstreets of Shoreditch. Home made pizza a speciality and good selection of drinks. Loved it.

Just went to the Windmill for a pizza and beer, the selection of beers and wine is brilliant, and the pizza is one of the best I've had in London. Staff are friendly, place is clean. Actually couldn't find a fault!

Friendly, traditional pub with a good drinks selection (available for takeaway). Recently added a pizza oven which produces a fantastic range of Neapolitan pizzas. A must try!

Well I went in to this establishment with pure fire of last nights Nduja pizza coming out with 0 mercy given.. I asked the lovely gentleman who was very polite if I could use his bathroom as there was meer seconds to spare with a promise to buy a drink after he directed me to the lou. This is we're the problems started it was a. Sliding door with not a lock in site but in the heat of the moment I simply sat down and released away. Only to find there was no lou roll at all. As a young man I was a boy scout so I already new the pain that was to come. I shouted for help and there was no response. So the only option was to use my socks as there was alot of mess. But to top it all off they were my favourite coco pops socks that I had received as a Christmas gift. Outrage. 1 star of 5 for you good sir.

It's a really lovely pub with outstanding service. It gets busy at times but the bar staff do everything in their power to get the orders quickly and correctly. A very good choice for drinks after work, a quick stop of a pub crawl or to meet an old friend. Beer selection is a good as any pub around the area.

Tucked in near Bonhill St and Old St, owned by Italians, looks like a normal London boozer, but actually the home made pasta is really good. Great for a work lunch

We went there yesterday, and it was great. Good food, really nice waiter, nice atmosphere. Today we thought we wanted to repeat, but waiter was different. Waitress was not as welcoming or nice. Drinks that yesterday we had, today they were not doing them. But she ensure that they never ever had them, we know that's not true, we had them yesterday, it's ok if she no longer wants to do it but she didnt accept our word, pretty much calling us liers. And by the time of paying she made us pay separately drinks and food, which meant I couldnt do with the card I had to. I needed to know that in advance, otherwise it should be her problem, not mine. you separate afterwards, why does it have to be my issue? The main important thing is... previous day, everything was ok, I could pay in one go, I could have the drink I wanted, but this woman made us look as liers, she said she was the owner and we were not right. Well, I am not going to write what I think you are, but I'll never going back if she is there. We are not lying, and you are too rude to work facing public. There are much better pubs close by

Walked past this street so many times and never noticed The Windmill. Lovely pub with a light and airy feel. High tables, low tables, comfy chairs, sofas and a horseshoe bar - something for everyone. The Italian-themed menu looked good and people seemed to be enjoying their food. I shall definitely try it. Unfortunately there is currently a building site opposite which is a downside - although clearly outside of the pub’s control. Hopefully will upgrade my review to 5 stars after the construction is finished and I’ve eaten here.

Great pub that has quick bar service. Plenty of spaces to sit and stand inside. Also there is enough pavement space outside so you can have a drink without being pushed onto the roads. There is a minimum £5 spending amount every time you go to the bar to buy something.

A pub in London with some attractive but very young bar staff and stuck up clientele. They had cider in draft so that made me happy. A large area inside for drinking so it was easy to find a seat
