Shocking food. Food was submerged in grease, 98% cheese, chicken was slimy, tasted like a frozen microwave meal. Staff didn’t know what was going on. The only good part of the meal was the fact I didn’t have to pay for the monstrosity.

First time visit for Sunday lunch. Vegetables seems reasonable fresh unfortunately the broccoli was quite raw could not eat it or cut through it disappointed with that . dessert was also very nice but could tell it was from box not home made. Waitresses where brilliant and friendly! Although the guy at front door leading people to seating area to be talking very load and order staff about which I found to be unnecessary. o possibly would visit again responsible price to.

We went on Saturday late teatime. It was very busy but the staff were brilliant. Very attentive, letting nothing faze them. The food was outstanding, tasty, hot and well presented. Thank you to all the staff who work endlessly to make sure everyone is fed and happy.😊

I feel this rating is a fair one given the experience we had there tonight. Good points - sat down straight away and drinks were ordered quickly. All 3 of us got our food at the same time (I've been to places where others are sat waiting while my food arrives) The starters and mains were fantastic quality can't fault either of them one bit. I feel like we got more than our moneys worth. Bad points - onion rings were awful very soggy under cooked sent a full portion back. The smell of diesel where we were sat was getting on all our nerves tbh. Shocking service by the waitress we had not only did we feel belittled and actually laughed at when wanting to order desert in the end only one of us actually ordered something and the fact she said "oh do you want the full menu?" I was ready to get up and walk out there and then. Really put a downer on our night. We even left I felt a fair tip and not even a smile or a thank you from her.

First time here and will be coming back. Food was 10/10 really enjoyed my self when me and my husband went last weekend for our dinners. Will be returning

First impression, busy with very loud music - too loud to hear, although about 40 mins in it was turned down. Had 2 mains and 2 kids meals. Kids meals were piping hot and good value. My Parma was not very hot, as though it was pre cooked and then warmed through and to be honest it was a bit bland, the other main was ok. Chips were really good. Service was quick at first but then had to wait a while for pudding. Home made cheesecake was nice but squirty cream? No thanks. Overall wouldn’t rush back. Mains weren’t especially good value.

went here for lunch today with with partner on the way back from a weekend away. We were highly impressed, staff amazing, lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent, I would go as far to say it was the best calzone pizza I’ve ever had! Well worth a try highly recommend

I have drove past this place many times and always thought I’ll stop one day for food . Today I did and it’s the worst place I’ve ever eaten , I say eaten , I tried the carbonara and it was foul , the whole set up is horrible it’s dirty , flies buzzing around , I actually threw up when I got home , never again

The signs outside and on menu clearly stated that either pizza or pasta dishes were included in the lunch time menu. On clarifying with waitress we chose the ham and the chicken pizzas. They were indeed very nice but when presented with the bill contrary to board outside and menu were charged extra for the chicken pizza....so be very aware that their menu is not clear altho' quality and atmosphere good. Shame because this left a very nasty taste in mouth.

Very basic no staff on reception waited 20 mins to check in only one pillow and one towel had to ask for more staff could not find more toilet roll had to take one from the bar toilets had to sit sidewards on toilet due to wrong positioning of an empty large toilet roll dispencer and view from window was old chairs and old disused fridges also very noisy doors banging throughout the night

Ordered a ham & mushroom pizza but it also came with peppers & onions. The ham was obviously chopped ham from a tin & totally tasteless. Football was on the TV in the restaurant but also thumping beat music which was so loud, sat next to each other we had to shout. Service was very swift & very quick to clear plates, making us feel like we weren't welcome to relax. Ordered & finished just over 30 minutes. Not a place I will return to in a hurry.

Terrible been waiting 20 minutes in the que for carvery not only that was nice to see a memeber of bar staff wipe her nose then pick glasses up also upon booking wasnt told it was carvery only

My friend and I visited this restaurant on 10th June for lunch. It is very nice inside and a lovely garden area for nicer weather. We were welcomed in and service was quick and efficient. We opted for the £8.95 three course lunch which was potato skins or minestrone soup, choice of pizzas or pasta and dessert was coffee or ice cream. The food was delicious with generous portions but unfortunately my pizza which was described as tuna, prawns, mussels and garlic was disappointing. I had asked for mussels to be removed but kept finding chewy bits in most mouthfuls and when querying this was told it was octopus which was not on the description. I do not eat octopus so this put me off finishing my pizza. The chef did however make me a fresh tuna and prawn pizza to take away so issue resolved. Other than this the rest of our meal was lovely and I will definitely visit again.

Excellent venue. Outstanding service and made to feel very welcome by the owner. Great choice of food also. Will be back!

Our first visit. As vegetarians, often our options are limited. This time, although there were a few to choose from, we both went for the halloumi burger. It consisted of several halloumi fries/sticks, fresh red onion, cherry tomato and burger sauce, in a brioche bun - accompanied by very good “chunky” chips, more burger sauce - and a decent salad. Really good veggie option, done really well and presented nicely. Service was great, very attentive. We decided to try the Biscoff cheesecake between us and were not disappointed, it was delicious! Really good value too at just over £40, which included 1 glass of wine and 2 pints of lager. I’m sure it won’t be long before we are back.

Always an absolute pleasurable experience the restaurant staff are a credit to the team I booked a table for 19 and they delivered all of our meals in excellent time , always friendly and willing to go the extra mile . Also the food is just so lovely and reasonably priced . This is why it’s my favourite place to come for any occasion .

I got the Cajun burger was bang on my other half got a chicken Kiev which they normally get either that or another chicken dish which comes a chicken breast with the bone in and the sauce well today the chicken Kiev was a folded parmo with garlic sauce over 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ ish the owners reply was we normally serve them like that I’ve got many photos on my phone and friends and family photos that this not the case don’t rip the mick out of people or should I say regulars coz that was what is keeping this place going but will give it a miss from now on 😂😂😂 it’s a joke

The Sunday carvery is totally delicious, plenty of everything and the desserts are unreal , I had the biscoff cheesecake and I have to say it’s the best I’ve ever tasted . Can’t wait to go again but I will be leaving my visit till about 2.30 in the afternoon, we got there about 1 and it was packed and the queue for the food was about a 20 minute queue but by the time we left about 2.45 things were easing off but I’ll definitely be back for Sunday lunch because it was fabulous

Maybe good if you have no diet issues or children with extra needs. Guy who welcomes you seemed very nice and smiling and sat us as fast as he could. However he kept clapping loud for no apparent reason which my little gift with ASD struggled with. Anyhow got to table staff seemed friendly however it was busy so they didn’t have time to really connect which is understandable. Ordered child meal first so it would come in good time for her before we took it in turns going for carvery. Hubby went first and it took him 10 mins again that’s fair enough when busy, when I went up they had run out of meat and I had a chicken breast put on my plate, not quite what I expected at a carvery but chicken is chicken so whatever. Veg was all cooked great however I found myself moving dried veg from top to get to the moist bits, mash was same crispy on top maybe heat lamps too high but it tasted good. Gravy was upsetting as none I could have with coeliac and no other option. Without gravy meal tasted dry, we ordered pudding however only 1 I could really have as not paying £2 per scoop of ice cream. They didn’t have bananas so I couldn’t have the 1 pudding suitable for me, hubby ordered tiramisu and then 15mins later they came back to say it wasn’t available but yet it was already added to the bill. My little lady waited 25mins for a kids spag Bol. She struggled with the amount of noise but that’s my fault for forgetting ear defenders. Don’t think I will be back at there is no GF options from menu or from carvery. Everyone else seemed happy enough. I would suggest GF option so those who can’t take risks are able to eat safely I did like the open kitchen so you could see what is going on although it does make you wonder why the wait is so long and when they are so busy why not have meat prepared for carvery

Think it’s confused about what it is….an eatery or nightclub. It was impossible to talk across a table because the music was so loud.

Absolutely hands down the best fillet steak I have ever had - and I've had a few. Went for the steak menu (Monday to Thursday) 3 courses for £30. Started with crispy potato skins, beautiful. Then the steak, which was a generous sized piece of fillet and melted in the mouth. Finished off with brownies and ice cream - absolute heaven. I really can't recommend this place highly enough, quality and value for money - it's second to none. Try it, you won't be disappointed!!!

Today the 17th of march I visited at 4pm when entering we were shown to a window seat that looks over their garden, we enjoyed sitting there, We got the menu and there was a good choice of food, I wanted a t bone steak as I had seen them on Facebook, they didn’t let me down, cooked to perfection, I had a fosters shandy and a a table water, The person I was with wanted lamb cutlets but unfortunately they didn’t have any, although she was very disappointed she settled for a chicken risotto that she enjoyed, One thing that I will note is the toilet floors were very wet and slippy around the urinals in the toilets, they definitely need mopping regularly as I don’t like standing in peoples p…… in the toilets, Will definitely be returning soon, I do recommend this place for steak,

We were returning home after our great-grand-daughters 5th birthday, (a 380 mile round trip). We popped in on the off chance we could get a table, the welcome was fantastic even though the restaurant was very busy and a table for three was found. A server immediately came to take our drinks order and they returned quite quickly. As soon as we were ready a server took our order. My grandson had the mixed steak dish, my wife had the frutti-de-mare, (Seafood tagliatelli), and I had the Ish burger. It is rare that we get three such different meals that were all fabulous. It may be a bit pricey but it is truly value for money. £65.00 for two lagers, a pint of lemon/lime and the three meals truly was vfm.

The food I had no problem with , I did have a problem with my eldest son been pushed or felt like by a member of staff which was in blue I got told he dont speak (English) which I know from working the is also excuse me in different languages all 3 of children have hidden disabilities as well as myself , no help or assistance from staff with meals which ment I had to carry my son and 2 meals which i couldnt so my daughter 11 years old ended up carrying 2 , staff trying to take high chair while had quad up my eldest son said that we had Said that we were in que no choice of desserts given yes it was busy , but felt like we where seated and dumped there was the odd member of staff came and took drinks, my daughter only ended up having 1 drink as we felt uncomfortable and squashed in the back area yes we all have needs we new it would be busy because of a sunday but I felt like the service could be improved massively a excuse me, or a random check in and instead of staff talking on the bar they could of helped people that they seen struggling by carrying the meals.

We booked a table, upon arrival they didn’t have a table available for us, even though we rang up prior during the day to book one, we was sat waiting for over 20 minutes for someone to take our order.

OK. But wouldn't be rushing back. Staff friendly and efficient. Food fair at best. Went for fish and should have stuck to pizza and probably would have been OK.

The food’s pretty decent, and I’ve been a few times now and enjoyed it. But some of the clientele that get in need to be vetted. There was a group behind myself in a booth, being loud and obnoxious and swearing constantly, a lot of the time at their child. I don’t think I’ll be going back if that’s the sort of experience we’ll be getting.

Had a lovely afternoon the cocktails were so nice 2 for 1 Love the open kitchen seeing your food being cooked I got a parmo and I really think it was the best I've ever had. Lovely atmosphere will deffo be back thanks guys

I've been here quite a few times now and have always enjoyed it the food and service are always fantastic but I went last night with friends for a birthday and was very disappointed. The food was great but the service was absolutely dreadful , we had items on the bill we hadn't ordered and I asked for a pot of tea and got half a cup of just warm tea. Asked for fries and got soggy cold and greasy chips. It was busier than I've ever seen it and just makes me think they can't handle it when it's too busy. There was people queuing at the door waiting for their table and we also had to wait for our table but only 15 minutes over. I just feel so disappointed.

Excellent carvery! Tried the Turkey, gammon and pork and all were cooked to perfection. Lots of freshly cooked vegetables to choose from with lashings of delicious gravy and amazing Yorkshire puddings! Staff were also very friendly and attentive. Would recommend!

We booked last minute for New Years Eve but the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. We had a choice of 2 tables for 6 and a high chair provided for the baby and plenty of room between the tables. Great menu choice and food quality was very good and reasonably priced. Attentive staff and quick service. Plenty of free parking at the venue. Our only criticism if it could be classed as one was that the music was very loud and made conversation difficult but it was NYE after all. Recommend and will eat there again I’m sure.

We took two rooms for a short stay at this hotel, which is part of and adjoined to a large pub. The rooms were fine for size, relatively clean and with nice enough furnishings, tea/coffee facilities, and a small TV. Here ends what good I have to say. The bathrooms were internal with no windows or working extractors, so they smelled damp and mouldy (and also were visible mouldy). In one of them, the toilet roll dispenser was jammed, and no one was able to fix it because no one had the key to open it. We were provided with a loose, half-used roll to balance on top. I also noticed that several things were in a state of poor repair, for instance the actual handles/locks on the doors seemed ready to tear off. Rooms are not serviced in any way if you stay for multiple nights. And despite being part of a pub that serves food, there is no breakfast service. It would have been helpful if we had been told about this in advance, because you are in the middle of nowhere, so breakfast is not easy to come by. The service was extremely poor. The pub staff are utterly clueless about anything to do with the hotel. The only member of staff that can help whatsoever in regards to the hotel is a single individual. If he is not at his desk, you're stuck. (However, when he was around, he was friendly and helped if he could.) Heaven preserve you if you attempt to call the hotel with any questions in advance of arriving. You can only get through to the pub staff, who, as mentioned, have no clue. You cannot book or amend your booking by calling. Their system is entirely automated and online; no one can help you. I did eventually manage to get some minor information from someone on the pub staff, but they were clearly extremely busy and rushed me off the phone. The hotel is situated halfway up a stretch of the A1. This means it is only accessible if you are coming from the north. There is no overpass if you're travelling from the other direction. You have to go all the way up to the next roundabout, then all the way back down. This will definitely inconvenience you. We requested rooms that were as far away from the motorway as possible. To the hotel's credit, they accommodated this request, and we found that the sound of traffic was much quieter and did not disturb sleep. Car parking was provided. I found puddles of vomit on the paths leading through the carpark, these were not cleaned away during our stay. Overall, it was the cheapest semi-inhabitable place within a few miles of Hartlepool, so if that's where you need to be, your options are limited. For a better experience, pay the premium to go stay at the Travelodge.
