This is a pub we visit regularly for lunch Good choice of meals, quick service. Real ales available. Friendly staff. Visited again just as before. 8

This place has gone down hill. Used to be my local come back every time im back in the town and usually get a mixed grill. Not expecting the world after all it is chain pub grub but was really poor compared to last year. Steak so chewy couldn’t eat it chicken really dry and over cooked. Clearing our own glasses off the table. Waited over 2 hours for food. There was a discount code so the kitchen was busier, but why put the codes out there if the kitchen cant handle it. Just not what it used to be …

We used to come here quite often but food took too long and ended up luke warm when we received it. The manager wasn't very helpful either as we got the feeling we were the inconvenience to them.

Our 2nd time here after receiving another good deal via an email. The food is really good here and reasonably priced. Friendly staff at the bar taking orders and with a smile. Got my 2nd stamp on virtual card now, so will be back again soon. Keep up the good work!.:-)

Staff were amazing. Service was spot on. Food this year was awesome. We come every Christmas day and the food this year was the best ever.

We went for drinks with friends, bar staff are friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is nice and cosy, we don't tend to get food when we visit so can't comment on that.

Really good local pub. Very good service from Gareth and Stephen behind the bar.

Great staff and entertainment with a brass band playing christmas carols for a local charity. Stephen and Carl were really friendly and helpful. Would recommend for an evening out in Hartlepool.

I wouldn't order from here online. We ordered for 4.30pm. It's not cheap it's £50 for 2 meals and they are completely taking the mick. So far our order time has been pushed back to 5.50pm. We ordered at 3pm for 4.30. We will never order again

thought we would try it here as getting half price meal emails and offers. turns out a very good idea. not long to wait for food. i had hunters chicken which was cooked very well. my wife had the posh fish an chips, which came with double fish!. reasonable prices an drinks well priced too. a very clean and tidy place ! .

Visited for food and drinks this afternoon. I was served by anne Marie, a lovely staff member and very helpful Food was great quality couldn't ask for more

We come here often as a family when out for walks, as it's dog friendly we all get to visit. They've recently had a change of menu and honestly it's fantastic, I had the lunch set menu of fisherman's catch which was very generous for the price the kids had burgers which were very impressive (next time I'll be having). Drinks competitively prices and lovely beer garden for summer.

I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. After having a nice walk on the beach it was nice to stop off for some food with the family

Had a lovely Saturday lunch - my chicken tikka main course and blackberry and apple crumble dessert were very tasty. Good selection of beers and lagers. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Good place for a relaxed lunch.

Visited twice while on holiday in the area. Was made very welcome by friendly staff. No cask ale on when I visited but the Guinness was excellent. The food was reasonable & a decent price. Offers on the food were available during the week.

Called in because our 2 year old was saying he was hungry before he could nap and I honestly didn't expect the standard to be so good! The best Sunday dinner we have had I'm a very long time. The beef on the bone was beautiful! The staff stephan and carl were very helpful as my son has a milk allergy so made sure everything was OK for him! Already recommended to others and will definitely be going again.

got the Sunday roast - Sunday roast wasn't the best gammon was too thick gravy was greasy you could see the dots of orange grease round side of gravy bowl didn't even taste that nice either tbh With pickled red cabbage 🤮 (what you normally get on kebab salad - that's what reminded me of and smelt like a anyway) for the price nope thanks . Only thing decent was the crispy frozen pudding

Nice pub. I had a 1st pint before heading into town. Always nice if a pub is dog friendly, in this instance a dog corner. Nice pint as well not expensive

Do not come here at all! they have a small car park that charges you to stay. You should be told by the staff that you need to enter your details behind the bar to not be charged a fine. They do not make this obvious at all. When i called the restaurant to let them know i had been charged a 60.00 fine they had the worst attitude and said its not our problem and that they had a sign on a door in the lounge. I will make sure to tell everyone not to come here. On top of the parking fine and the terrible attitude the food was diabolical. DO NOT COME HERE

We popped in for a drink, happy to see Timothy Taylor on hand pull (favorite of mine) at a very reasonable price. Ended up being quiz night, enjoyable evening was had! Would definitely recommend.

Really cant fault this place, modern interior nice garden seating too. Bar staff always chatty and great drinks. The food is decent too and as a plus there is an area you are allowed to sit with your dog .

Popped in for a late lunch whilst in the area on holiday. We ordered via the app from the table, service was very quick, service staff very polite. The food was hot, very tasty and good value for money.

I visited the Tall Ships today and was served first by the manager who looked totally miserable from the outset. I asked if I could use the reward app and he looked at me as if I was a scrounger. I stayed for a couple of hours and the other members of stagg seemed friendly but the manager remained miserable and unfriendly. My friends who are locals said he was miserable but OK with regulars, kn my opinion tilhisnis not good enough... Really poor..won't go back..

Spoilt for choice both in Hartlepool with White House & here plus an excellent menu....with some new good additions. The sea bass was lovely and if you like a good curry in a family restaurant with a wide choice menu then this takes a lot of beating. We visit Ember Inns on a regular basis because we find a consistency and good service with a good range of choices from the menu and at prices from very reasonable to the special dining ...all good quality. A good choice of drinks with the zero alcohol beer for drivers like me.

We went as a family to try out the new menu and we weren't left disappointed. The chicken tikka skewers were beautiful and the ultimate burger was huge. We were planning on a desert but we were stuffed. As always recommend.

Absolutely lovely interior when we visited just after Christmas, bar staff are lovely, will definitely dine here again 5* EDIT Visited last night with my young daughter, having booked a table via their website ( I needn't have done that as the establishment was very quiet, Sunday 7.30pm). You have to enter your registration number into their machine if driving and parking in the car park. The maximum stay is 2 hours. Tried to use the app for food and got tied up in so many knots. I went to the bar, where the lady was trying to explain to me about the QR code from the app and my bank card, it wasn't her fault I hadn't a clue what was going on. All I do know is the tab came to around £48 for 3 drinks and 3 meals. The meals weren't of a sufficient standard for the price paid. Not one of us enjoyed our meals. And we won't be returning to this pub for food (although shout out to the lady behind the bar for trying her best and having her hands tied by the corporate bosses above her when told the food was awful, she was extremely polite and pleasant). It's a shame chains such as this one are taking over. Would've been easier to stay in and order a takeaway. And the standard of food would have been better too. There is no point in launching a new menu if you can't provide what's written upon it.

Popped in for breakfast, great friendly service from Carl taking the order and bringing us coffee. Breakfast arrived, fresh and hot, really tasty and accommodated my additional request for scrambled egg. Thanks to Ella and Kat, the chefs, will definitely be back again

Stuff quite welcoming I had a double up beef burger and a no alcoholic Guinness Burger was good and filled a hole and the non-alcoholic Guinness turted like Guinness.

When for Mother’s Day and as per usual brilliant food , friendly staff that will go the extra mile and a great atmosphere. It is fast becoming our favourite pub when we travel up to see family

We visited today for mother's day and it was lovely, the staff were so very helpful and recommended a meal for my mother who has a small appetite. Food was served swiftly and with a smile. Top marks as we all enjoyed it, and the Ghost Ship on tap made it even better. Will return soon.

Poor customer service. Miserable bartender who needs to attend a course in hospitality. Closed at 11.30 when website states open until 12am. Won't be returning.

Lovely atmosphere, and lovely food

The food was very good but service was not great, they forgot the onions rings that were supposed to be in my ultimate burger and then forgot the flake on my sundae.

We visit here quite often and always find the staff to be friendly and polite. However, yesterday we were served by a young man called Adam. He really stood out as he was extremely hard working, kind and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. He ensured that every table was happy and had everything they needed. Adam, you are a huge asset to the Tall Ships. Well done.

We visit this place most weekends as we have a caravan nearby. Lovely cosy pub/restaurant with a great atmosphere. Very friendly staff (especially G-Man being like our own personal bar person who welcomed us from our very first visit) food is lovely and it’s a good location. Keep up the good work, we will be a loyal customer for the foreseeable future.

Excellent service, lovely food - party of 5 had a very very pleasant afternoon. Would recommend Tall Ships for really great pub food & great service. Dogs allowed in one specific area inside - with dig bowls provided.

Myself and my husband visited the pub during the time between Christmas and New Year for a meal and a few drinks. We have visited The Tall Ships on a number of occasions and always had a great experience. Out latest visit was no different the atmosphere is always friendly and inviting , this includes the staff who are welcoming and attentive. Our meals were tasty and great value for money and was a welcome change from all the Christmas food consumed. What made our visit extra special was seeing the wonderful Ella back working on her break from uni , she is an absolute joy and a credit to the pub

Visited for the quiz night with friends, friendly local and a fun quiz with a fair few teams playing, didn't win, maybe next time. Drinks are a fair price and plenty to choose from. Food looked lovely although we didn't eat this time. We'll definitely be back.

We booked here for Xmas Lunch, unfortunately it didn't remotely meet our expectations, whilst we understand it is a pub, you are asked to provide your choices a month in advance so one would think they can't get it wrong. Apart from the actual Roast potatoes & Turkey the rest of the Gammon & veg was not good, the starters were very small portions, did not go for the desserts. Table service for drinks was very slow as everyone seemed to be focused on getting food out. C considering what we paid it was not value for money, we use other Ember Inns who have provided decent food in the past (unfortunately our local one was fully booked for Xmas well in advance) No intension to return here soon

We ordered steak my partner's was fine mine Thier was blood coming out of it when I cut it I didn't order that so they took it back by the time another steak had arrived this time burnt my partner had finished his meal so I left mine didn't ask for either of those steaks so won't be going back

Went to this place for a change of scenery and to try the food. Staff were pleasant and friendly throughout, food was served in an efficient manner and tasted nice. Good atmosphere without being too over crowded. Will be returning

Went for a meal with my family the food was good apart from some of our choices were sold out at 1330 I don’t think that is good enough when you are ordering the food on the menu that was the reason we went over

Every time I order a delivery from this place they skin me. If they aren't charging for a sirloin and sending me a rump they charge you for meals that don't turn up. I waited an hour and a half last night for my delivery and they couldn't even find a driver. I canceled the order because I didn't want a steak delivered that was cooked two hours earlier. The bar charged me anyway. I paid £19 for absolutely nothing. Will never order from them again.

Always delicious food and a great atmosphere. In summer tables outside, in the winter cosy interior with flames dancing in the fireplace. Lots of parking spaces and convenient location.

They need to keep an eye on reserved tables because when we got there our table was taken so we had to wait for a table to come free.

I have been a few times now , ok for drinks however I was disappointed with the Sunday lunch I had in the past, also meals during the week although ok but things like chips are packet chips and not hand cooked.
