Carvery wasn't too bad, definitely need more of a choice! We went on a Sunday at 3pm and it was sooooo quiet. Choices of meat were good but 2 types of mash, roasties, green beans, carrots, cauli cheese and peas isn't a great variety and wasn't really clear on what things were(2nd type of mash was colcannon I think). I know a carvery is self explanatory but we got sat down and left, no explanation on how to order or where(we ordered from the QR in the end). Tickets got brought over and that's all we heard from anyone until our plates were taken by I'm assuming the manager who was lovely. Could possibly do with a bit of an update too, very dated and tired looking.

Great service from Jamie, very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks on offer. Food was plentiful and good value for the money (had the carvery- the works) will defo come again

Didn't eat, but went in for a quiet drink and catch up on some work emails. The team, especially Jodie we're very welcoming, accommodating and the venue was very clean and tidy.

First time eating in here and both me and my son loved the carvery. The meal was and we also had starters and desserts which were also plentiful. The staff were very friendly and made sure that you were looked after. Only downside we had was we were sat near the door and it was a little chilly as people were coming in and out.

This has been a carvery for a long time under many franchises. We have always loved dropping in with the family and just has a couple. Today we met with the landlord Neil and he is doing an amazing job keeping this afloat. The food was good and worth every penny. A good pub with the add on of a restaurant.

I had a good time and Jamie attended to us and served us well, and was nice to us.

Went for the all you can eat breakfast. Great selection and lovely food. Reasonably priced especially with blue light discount. Under £20 for myself and wife.

I And members of my family have been eating /held my wedding reception my fathers wake and lots of birthday does over the years I went in on Saturday night 18/1/25 with five members of the family and it has to be the worst meal ever the Turkey well the remains of the Turkey was on offer the smallest bit of beef and a small pice of ham my Mum said she did not want scraps so a new Turkey was brought out the rest of the veg were all cold the only thing hot on my plate was the cauliflower cheese so much food was left on our plates and for what i paid 🙂 and this was at 5pm on a Saturday night very disappointing will definitely not return Cath and family

I tried the food again recently and Nah, still rubbish and over priced. Carvery is shockingly bad. Pizza is the best of a bad choice. It's cheap but not good value for money. It really is a shame as this pub was once a very good Toby carvery and customers used to travel a good distance to dine here. Many people I know on the estate wouldn't walk 10 feet to get a table here. Crown carverys really don't seem to have a clue.

Love this place, first came here NYE 2023 as we had a gift card from a family member. Been back many times since. Great prices and the staff are amazing

Food was okay but the star of the show was Ryan on carvery, amazing lovely boy so polite and helpful always greets us with his big smile. Dillon in the kitchen was very friendly and accommodating to our needs, both are very lovely staff really brings light to the place.

The place was busy when we got there, but the service was really good and quick. The staff were very helpful, and they served our party of ten quickly, and the food was lovely. It was a happy pub, and we were made to feel welcome by people waiting to be served. Definitely worth a visit.

We had booked a table however after waiting by the door for 5 minutes we just went and sat down. All the tables were dirty and the seat in the booth where we chose to sit was all ripped and the foam coming out. I had visited initially wanting a carvery however when I saw the selection on offer and how and dry everything looked it put me off and chose something else. Although the pulled pork burger I chose was not anything special. The peas looked as though they had been sat there for hours! My daughter however chose to have a carvery and we took most of her meal home to feed to the dog as the meat was extremely dry and the pigs in blankets were inedible as they were that hard. My youngest daughter had a kids meal which the beans were cold and the chips were cold. Then she was excited to get her ice cream which was described as 'endless ice cream and unlimited toppings' which really meant some sauce that had seen better days and toppings which you had to pay for anyway so not really unlimited! The best thing about the meal was my daughter's cookie sundae, which was quite impressive, hence why I have scored a 1 but I am definitely not in a rush to visit again.

Popped in for dinner with family. Had a lovely carvery, all fresh and hot! Atmosphere was calm and enjoyable and the staff were super friendly.

Came in for the breakfast I was greeted by Neil he was very nice and informative the food was amazing the hash browns was crispy the bacon was beautiful and there eggs was cooked evenly and amazingly overall i would defiently come back here amazing food for price

Went for a meal and they couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Went out of their way to provide me with lots of options for vegan food, which was great and doesn’t happen often. Service was great. Especially Luke and the gentleman behind the bar who helped when ordering. Would definitely go again and recommend.

Came here for a last minute Sunday roast, and was very satisfied by the food, my boyfriend got a large Sunday roast and commented on how nice the gammon and roasties were! I got a Philly burger and really enjoyed it, the customer service was great especially from Jodie and Neil making sure we were happy with the food and if we needed anything. Will definitely visit again 😊

Food is good always plenty to pick from on the carvey and quality is always consistent when we go. Today we were served Neil who was very friendly and helpful!

I’m a regular in this pub I use the vault . But I’ve not eaten here for a while the food we’ve had was spot on and the service is very good . Definitely eat in here more often now .

Good value for money, great service and didn’t wait long for food. We had the sandwiches and they come with a side of roasters or chips and was great value for money. First time eating here and I would go again.

We attended the MMU and stayed local for a few days to enjoy what Manchester has to offer. We have visited Stonehouse restaurants previously. We found The Windmill on the Stonehouse location page and gave it a try…..several times! We were absolutely not disappointed at all. The staff were so lovely, the food was incredible. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and comfortable.

The pub generally has a friendly family atmosphere during the day and a relaxed atmosphere at night. The staff work hard and are friendly. The food is cheep and cheerful, and overall is pretty good value for money, the food is generally good though I have a few times had mixups with order where items ordered off the menu haven’t turned up. This particularly seems to be a problem on a Sunday when they are busy with Sunday lunch. It does feel like it could do with a good clean and a splash of fresh paint. If I have one complaint the toilets are pretty grim. The men’s toilets floor is always wet which makes me think the urinal has overflowed. There was no toilet paper the last time went in.

A wonderful pub/restaurant located at a residential area in Denton, Manchester. This pub has separate bar and restaurant areas and the eating area is quite spacious and got plenty of people. I’ve been to this pub other times and I must tell the service remains very good and friendly staff who are always ready to help. Food and drink prices are fair and their food quality is top. No wonders it has been operating for so long. Will definitely return on my next trip to Manchester.

A lovely family lunch - delicious food for meat eaters and vegetarians alike, served quickly and with a smile from friendly and helpful staff. The homemade chocolate brownies and sticky toffee pudding were also tremendous... Highly recommended. We’ll be back!

I recently attended Christmas dinner at The Windmill Denton, and I must say, it was a rather disappointing experience. Compared to the previous year, the quality has significantly declined. First off, the restaurant was far too crowded. The number of people packed into the space made it feel cramped and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the place was incredibly hot, adding to the overall discomfort. The portion sizes of the starter and dessert were abysmal. It's quite disheartening to see such a reduction in quality and quantity, especially on a special occasion like Christmas. All in all, my experience at The Windmill Denton this Christmas was far from satisfactory. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make necessary improvements for future events.

Our 1st time for Christmas dinner, with our son in a wheelchair, we were not offered any help to carry his meal to the table, so I had to queue up separately for my carvery, which meant we ate at different times. Staff were pleasant when approached, but we waited for a while for our starters to appear, 2 of us ordered chicken wings, the menu stated 5 chicken wings we were only given 3 wings, the trio of chocolate dessert was vanilla ice cream not chocolate, which was very dissapointing. The carvery was nice, but the temperature was a let down, it was not hot and the gravy was very watery, it had been topped up with water.

We booked for 10 people for Christmas. We originally booked from 1pm-3:30pm, this had been changed without notice to 2:45pm. When we arrived we were shown to our table, no introductions or advise on what to do, and the order of things. We hadn't even sat down and our cold starters came out before our drinks order had even been taken. We'd finished eating the starters by the time they came out. 5 gold wings was 3 gold wings, hadn't read our dietary requirements. 1 starter missing, came out vegan, I'm not vegan. A server came over chewing food and had to swallow before speaking. The carvery was OK, but it's just a carvery. We were rushed out, problem with the system at the end, chef walking past scratching his groin area. An ice cream sundae was actually just ice cream unless you paid 50p per topping!! With over £400 spent I expected better service. Used to like this place but I feel robbed, cancelled future bookings and won't return.

Our visit wasn’t very good at all. Firstly the toilets were absolutely disgusting. Some toilets had sick splashed up and down them whilst others had wee on the seats or runny poo up and down them. Our starters were cold, the soup had to be sent back for two of us twice for it to be microwaved. The chicken wings were cold but other guests with me just made do and ate them. The dinner was sub standard, the turkey was very undercooked and the food from the carvery was lukewarm at best. The desert was poor. The Christmas pudding was bitter and hard and the apple pie was soggy cold and tasteless. At the end of our meal, the waiter asked me to go to the til as I owed money - which was very rude as I had paid a deposit of £60 upon the initial booking and then the remaining £205 on the deadline date. This was really rude and surprising to be asked to pay when I had already paid in full and it was the Windmills error. Lady on til made me go through everything that was ordered to prove that I had two kids meals ordered. We booked to have dinner here to take away the stress of Christmas Day, like we did last year, but this year it was absolutely awful food and poor attitudes. Would like to make a formal complaint about this.

Tables sticky and dirty. No cutlery on table. No salt and pepper. Carvery looked delicious- but meat was dry and meager portioned, roast potatoes were hard and cold. Veg all tasted the same. Disappointed.

Appalling service. Spent £200 over two days. Told we could watch the final F1 of the season. Then half way through they cut it off. Rude staff. Poor management.

Good place to grab a meal, carvery is a main option that many choose, but other options are available including fresh pizza, a range of alcohol soft drinks and hot tea and coffee are also available. Price's are fair, staff are friendly and decor is fair.
