Great service and very polite . The food was lovely and hot and was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend having a meal and drinks here

They are not considerate on kids with special needs. We were told by one of a grumpy horrible granny staff that our son's food cannot be eaten inside the restaurant and we were told to leave and eat the food somewhere else... We were told we will not be served. Please avoid this restaurant if you don't want to get upset and disappointed... We didn't go ahead on our order and left the restaurant.

I've been here before and had a better experience. This time round, after ordering on the app, the food literally came out 2 minutes later, which I didn't think was a good sign. It all looked very appetising, but on starting to eat it, I found everything was barely luke warm. From a professional food place, I'm struggling to understand why food temperatures aren't regularly taken, and "Keep warm" times aren't adhered too. It would have been nice to at least have the food refreshed on a hotplate for literally 1 minute, before being brought out, just to get it up to the correct temperature. Also, I say "Keep warm times" because I just about made it home before everything decided to do an emergency evacuation from my body, I don't think there would be anything that had been thawed and refrozen, (But I could be wrong) The mushroom didn't have as much flavour as it should have had, and it could have also done with a fair sized portion of beans. So upon reflection, I doubt I'll be taking the risk of eating here again, it was too closer a call for anyone to be ok with.

My family has eaten at this particular Weatherspoon's maybe once a month as a treat. Our visit to the Willow tree in Stowmarket today was one of the worst meals I have ever been served. It was of such laughably bad quality the waitress or Manger didn't even bother checking if we liked our meal, although it wasnt busy and they had a 5 minute conversation with the table next door who were actually asked how their food was. Personally it looked like they knew the waitress otherwise if that was my smallest most overcooked piece of fish I would not have been happy. We ordered an American burger with cheese, mixed grill and two kids meal pizzas. First of all the kids pizzas were served luke warm my youngest daughters pizza dough didn't smell right and the cheese was congealed not melted and she refused to eat. My first thought was that the pizzas have changed as they looked completely different and we all usually enjoy these. My partners mixed grill was no better literally every meat cutlet was very burnt and dry also served luke warm, the chicken cutlet so dry it had rubber texture making it hard to cut and inedible. Sausage strangely had been cut in half then cooked to point both ends were burnt. Surprising as I had the same meal in Great Yarmouth a month before and it was lovely. My burger had changed from previous visits also. I was craving a juicy burger from previous visits but it was more like children's canteen burger worse still it was luke warm and had an unpleasant taste. The bun was dry with a small amount of tomato and lettuce and the burger did not taste like a burger at all it was sweet tasting and the smell alone put me off. Also the cheese hadn't melted onto the burger but that of course would require heat which this burger was lacking. For £32 a visit to anywhere else would have been vastly superior. Its a lot of money for a meal out but would have rather paid slightly more for a better meal... this was really embarrassing and we would have complained but when everything is so poorly done and waitress showed total cowardice by not checking on us as customers, we just wanted to leave as we felt as it was all bad they could not have done better. We did note many other tables were being checked so it was like we were missed on purpose because we were being vocal in out distaste of the food. I hope this helps someone from wasting their money on a bad meal. I was lucky to only take a couple small bites out of my burger, my partner who does not like to see food go to waste has had a terrible upset stomach since being home. Avoid this place

Thought my family of 5 plus one friend would come here for breakfast. Previous experience a couple of months ago really nice, and to be fair the food is normally OK. Not today though All big breakfast and one vegetarian. Eggs were hard and cold. Bacon was burnt . Hash browns I think we're well old as tasted weird. And toast was more like bread. The server did bring some more fresh eggs and was polite but the chef seriously needs to learn to cook. I'm disappointed to be honest and has put me off. It may be cheap but come on spoons you can do better. I know the quality isn't over high but at least cook it properly.

Been coming here for years, since it opened. Apart from a couple of years ago when a group of belligerent alcoholic pensioners seemed to be in residence and spoiled things, it's been fine. It's a wetherpoons so you know what to expect, cheap beer, good breakfast, less good evening food at a fair price.

The staff work incredibly hard but we all had the same problem with our food, it just wasn't cooked for long enough and our guacamole was frozen. We had a large family gathering and we were there for several hours and this happened to several of us. The beyond meat burgers just were not cooked for long enough and they were quite sloppy. The food was ok up until a few months ago so not sure what has changed. There is also a sewer like waft that comes out from the vents near to the kitchen. We absolutely could not fault the bar staff and we ordered numerous drinks and meals, at various times, all were served very efficiently.

On Friday December 2nd we met up for a long awaited family reunion which was ruined because of weatherspoons stringent policies regarding children and also moving tables. There were 13 of us including four children aged 11mths, 9, 14 and one who is nearly 15. We wanted to sit together but was told in no uncertain terms NO as it would block access and was against fire regulations and that we'd have to sit at separate tables. Then a lovely guy said he'd sort it so we could sit together. We ordered drinks, my grandson 22 had no ID so no drink .However we were then told that if he was seen with a drink at the table then we'd all be banned from purchasing alcohol which is strange as would be having it with a meal so technically it shouldn't apply. About 8ish we ordered our meals and enquired how spicy a dish was as the 9yr old didn't like spicy food. Jobsworth brought round raffle tickets before our meal so she could clearly see that there were children. We ate our meal, tables were cleared and about nine we had more drinks. We were going to order desserts when jobsworth appeared and told us that children had to be out by nine. so no dessert for us. We said that we were unaware of this and were promptly told and repeated that "It's on the website". When asked was this to do with the licencing laws she tried to imply that it was then said it was company policy. We pointed out that it wasn't law and therefore notices should be visible explaining this. She did say we could finish our drinks first. Wow how generous. She came back again to tell us we had five minutes before we had to leave. After this experience totally ruining our evening we will definitely boycott this pub chain and be sharing our experience on other social media platforms.

It's a Wetherspoons, it's supposed to be cheap and cheerful, thank God it's survived lockdown. Big spacious pub, good, cheap comprehensive menu, served by nice friendly hardworking people. Food and drinks are good value, you want fine dining? XXXX off out of town and pay for it!

I loved there foods and drink issues was long queues and one member of staff being full on to us he was tall 6ft 3 with a goaty beard and thin build he was a weirdo and he has been reported to watherspoon company for his very very strange behaviour after this I told my partner at the time Mandy I don’t want us going here no more ….all I can tell you as this site strip my review before when I told full story why i told my Partner Mandy we not coming to this pub no more ….but there food and drinks was tops …

I was part of a party consisting on six males and seated in an environment of similarly aged mixed parties of six persons. It was a noisy area but was acceptable due to the joyful atmosphere.My party ordered drinks and snack food (chips, garlic bread, onion rings) to the table. The drinks came in good time, but the food was a little delayed to the point that we asked when it would arrive. The staff then brought a portion of chips to our table that we greatly received. Approximately 10-15 minutes later, the garlic bread and onion rings turned up with another portion of chips. At this point, one member of the party questioned that we did not order two portions of chips, but as I mentioned earlier it was a noisy joyful environment and the rest of the party were unaware over who ordered what.The next member of staff to visit our table was the duty manager - and before we could inform any staff to their mistake we were informed that we claimed a portion of chips that was not ours and that we would no longer be served. She promptly left without allowing us to query what had happened or present any reasoning. When I went to query and explain what had happened, the manager was not interested in listening to myself and I had the impression that her mind was made up on the group before we had even sat down. In truth I felt a little discriminated against.Nether the less, some members of the party attempted to order further drinks which obviously did not arrive. I completely understand and do not dispute the staffs right to deny service to people. However, I then approached the duty manager again to have the order (which was not provided) voided and refunded, and I was told by the manager that they would not provide a refund. I stated that they can not take payment for a service/product and refuse to provide it or refund as that is theft. The managers response was “I don’t care”. This for me was wholly unprofessional and unacceptable from any staff member at any restaurant.

Headed here for a few drinks and food on a Friday night. Relatively quiet around 4:30 and was seated easily. Thought it was clean, and staff were good. Food not the best, even for a spoons - had chicken that was quite poor. However, had a really good time here, would go again.

Frequent visitor to spoons pubs. This one not that great. Food very poor quality cleanliness always a problem. Management non existent. Staff stand around talking instead of meeting customers needs. I have visited several times so not a one off. Steaks very poor quality most visits. I use it cos it's cheap and on my door step. But I definitely would not go out of my way to visit it.

Visited for breakfast, staff nice and friendly, breakfast was nice and pls to see they are still doing the unlimited Tea / Coffee refill as some other places have stopped this, using COVID as an excuse.

The care for cleaning in this place is piss poor. Asked for a clean glass due to first one being dirty, was given a glass that was again dirty and had lipstick around the rim of the glass. Our first order was wrong, but admittedly was then corrected when we questioned it. All tables outside appeared sticky where old glasses had been, with no signs of cleaning being done. Would assume cleaning at a time like which would be crucial!

On a miserable damp Wednesday and delighted that pubs were now open, my daughter and I with my dog thought it would be great to have a meal and a drink. The pub has two outside areas at the rear which were both empty. It didn’t occur to me that having my dog with me would be a problem, as we tried to decide on one of the many empty tables a member of staff, came quickly out and said we couldn’t stay there with the dog, if we wanted a drink we would have to go off their property! Needless to say we didn’t bother. Obviously being closed for so long hasn’t hurt them financially that badly.

We had an excellent meal, lovely staff who did all they could to keep us happy and comfortable The pub itself is so interesting with lovely flowers on the table and barThe glass extension is warm and modern with views over the garden. Highly recommended

Came in for breakfast, was served quickly and all was fine, the server was friendly and helpful and food tasted fine. The only thing was, I observed the server going into to room at the back of the hatch where staff drop off used crockery and I saw the server scratch inside her shirt under her arm followed by wiping her nose, the server then went straight out to serve other meals without any time to wash hands, I'm sorry but I really think in this day and age with the scare of viruses around that all staff should be trained well to keep hands very clean at all times even if things do take 30 seconds longer. More thought and consideration needs to be given to the customer.

We wanted a good value, quick service meal prior to a gig. This did the job and was open for a quick drink on the walk back later.

Wetherspoons is Wetherspoons, you know what you're going to get, a good value enjoyable dinner.Some moan about Wetherspoons but value for money is second to none.The building is not as nice as some.Nice outside area at the rear for warmer times of the year.

Went in for a breakfast, order was placed, coffee mugs were ice cold and not too clean, had to wash them with the hot water from the machine, food arrived, it was Luke warm, staff seem to have a permanent scowl on their faces, maybe it is a requirement for the job, but it is local to me and you do get what you expect at the prices given,but even they seem to rise every so often

OK. We are local to this Wetherspoons. We only ever drink now as have had too many cold meals! The staff do not seem to care

The place is what expected, cheap drinks and average to poor quality food. Again for the price paid the standards are met. If you are looking for a place to have few drinks that’s fine. If you looking for a meal, look elsewhere.

Firstly the lady taking orders is the most miserable person you could possibly be greeted by. No smiles, no politeness, and simply quite rude... unless you are a local. After ordering at the Bar, I sit down after getting myself a coffee from the free refill machine. Sitting there contemplating the price I just paid for a single breakfast and coffee... quite pricey for a spoons.... 2 breakfasts appear... oh dear. Clearly someone wasn’t awake and listening properly.. and funnily enough neither breakfast was correct. The tipping point for me was that I had to go and get my own cutlery in order to actually eat my food.. I then had to wait for the extra components of my breakfast to arrive while I ate what I had received... One lady on the floor kindly refunded me for the extra breakfast and was apologetic for the mess up. From past experiences, this member of staff is always kind, cheerful and hardworking! The food did once use to be a bargain for the price you pay and worth what you paid. However recently even the standards are poor for a spoons. I’m likely to return on the basis of previous experiences being good.

2/09/19 Just arrived home, after what could only be explained as the worst Breakfast we've eaten. Arrived at 10.30am approx. Only Two members of staff to be seen. One (lovely lady - whom we personally believe SHOULD have been in charge!) Took our order (table 12) … Ordered one Veggie breakfast, One small Pancakes, and one Breakfast with no Tomato and no Mushrooms, and an extra Sausage, Large Orange Juice no ice and a Tea. When the food arrived, there was Mushroom and Tomato on the Breakfast, and No extra Sausage, something I wasn't too bothered about, as the original Lady was on a break, and the other Man was sorting out a larger table's order that was also missing items! … But my Husband's Veggie Breakfast had no Baked Beans, so queued up at the bar to complain as we had had no check back by this point anyway. Spoke to the younger Male dark hair, Glasses and a Burgundy shirt on who apologised and came over straight away, he said he'd get a bowl of Beans for the Veggie breakfast and get a new Breakfast sorted for myself. Waited, Beans came out, and "new" Breakfast came out, complete with extra Sausage... however, the ONLY thing on the plate remotely WARM let along hot, was the Sausages. Therefore both Eggs, Hash Browns and burnt cold toast left. The fact that the Toast was burnt and yet cold proves that it wasn't a "new one" at all, it was the same plate with just new Sausages clearly! But yet again, no check back done what so ever! So Food was just left. Whilst waiting the Man in the Burgundy shirt was at the serving hatch asking which Breakfasts for a different table were which as one was Vegetarian, and One was Vegan, The boy in the Kitchen said "I think it's this one" , and the Man in the Burgundy repeated "Are you completely sure?" and he replied "Yeah I THINK so!" So the Lad in the Burgundy TOOK THEM ANYWAY?! Whilst saying "If it's on wrong it's on you then" Whilst they were all LAUGHING about it?! - Seriously!? If you are unsure you go to the Customer, apologize for the wait and do a new one surely!? Waited for plates to be cleared, so we could let them know that 1- the breakfasts were gross, I genuinely feel my Toddler could cook better, and 2- that the serving hatch isn't soundproof and Customers can hear every word you say!...and nothing. Why you might ask? … Because the Man in the Burgundy shirt was in the Kitchen testing Food temp's. -Fair enough. HOWEVER the final straw for myself was the conversations CLEARLY heard by us, and the larger table (whom also had Children, and we have a Toddler) Regarding Staff's sleeping lives, who is and isn't in a relationship, why people don't like each other there along with multiple swear words, INCLUSIVE of the Man in the Burgundy shirt. So with this, I go to the bar, queue up again to speak to the original Lady who was back off her break and serving alone, and ask if she is the Manager today as I had some feedback, to which our complete surprise she wasn't, it was the Man in the Burgundy shirt?! (Well, shift leader) .. Shocked, I asked if she meant the one serving on the floor and she said yes, so I continued to let her know our grievances, and asked how to complete feedback. She has said that the site Manager is in at 3pm today, and that she will let them know, and that I also should log the feedback on here. -So here goes nothing. Upon walking back to the table to get our stuff and go, the Elderly man stood next to me at the Bar came over to tell me that it's not the First time he's heard this and he only comes in here to Drink purely for this fact, and that it's completely unacceptable and that hopefully if enough people complain things will change. We have been here several times when it first opened and used to tell people it was the best Wetherspoon's for miles... unfortunately now, as agreed by us, and the big table adjacent to us, and the Elderly Man it's now by far one of the worst. To finish, I said to the older Man, that I thought about waiting to let the Kitchen staff know that, clearly unobvious to them, the serving hatch is not sound proof, and that they need to go back to College to learn to Cook. Heard by the Female "chef" with Purple hair who stood next to the fridge saying "I think they're complaining, ahh well I don't give a sh*t" -Sums up the trip! It's a shame to see what once was good, turn into … well … this! Service- Terrible, no money back offered, nothing to fix the situation, and the conversations we heard were disgusting for a work place in ear shot of customers, let alone KIDS. However, the Lady at the bar was helpful and lovely! Food- TERRIBLE Value- Terrible, if the Food was edible, it would be great value for money.

Unparalleled on range of beers and free coffee refills

Have been to the Willow Tree several times to see if it gets any better it docent still your shoes stick to the floor the tables are never cleared and always dirty and sticky and you find yourself moving the plates etc... yourself to an already over filled table. Iv given it a go so many times as where can you get such a good deal and a round of drinks G & T, pint and soft drink for £6 but I think that’s where they get you, in a normal environment you would not put what they serve near your mouth or allow it to enter your digestive system. It’s a dirty grubby place and I feel like I need to detox after a visit internally and externally. I give it 1 stars due to drinks. Can’t comment on staff as there clearly aren’t any doing any clearing and as you can order on an app you can be knee deep in crockery and glasses. I really hope I don’t find myself giving in to a cheep G & T as it’s not worth it.

Always a number one choice for cheep drinks and food. Service was amazing, the staff were very polite and the atmosphere was calming.

Was a begrudged 1 Terrible service food cold when it arrived and not care in the world when I mentioned it to the manager even though I saw it sat in the platting area for over 20 mins they kept saying they were waiting in eggs will never go again

Went with my partner for breakfast. The building itself is lovely, plenty of space, both inside and out. The breakfast was very good value for money, two breakfasts and coffee refills for under £10, however the place seemed down at heel, with uncleared and sticky tables, the food was below par, and was warm and looked as if it had been sitting on the counter for a while before being served. A couple of members of staff were enthusiastic, others were clearly not. A shame, it is clearly a popular place, and many were drinking their pints and wine when we went in before 12 noon. I won't be returning

Stayed in Stowmarket for 3 nights and tried the Willow Tree out . All i can say is that the starters were better than the main every time , mixed grill very dry - burger very dry and chicken feast again the same very dry meat ,not as good as other Witherspoons.

We have often used. Witherspoons all over the country and this the worse we have visited the food sat on the food pass including salad under hot lamps for a long time before finally being brought to our table the jacket potatoe could not be smaller and the smallest amount of chillie was served and when we complained to the supposed manager we were told that is portion control however the next one did have more than the first table spoonfull we sat near the serverary and watched playtime between the staff we will not return to the willow tree again 29 07 2019

Like many of us we're in love with our local Wetherspoons the beer at a very very reasonable price and the food is very good. good to see a Jennings ale in the house this week they need more of them as they are all very good beers. my husband and I don't have huge appetites so we tend to share a meal between us this week it was their much-loved buttermilk chicken burger which was doubled to 2 burgers, ask for an extra plate and we of bog off on food with absolutely no waste.

Called here mid-afternoon. A really hot day, so a lot sat outside, but inside fairly quiet. Staff were OK, comfortable enough, but nothing out of the ordinary. Good value for money as always

My daughter and her friend went for breakfast only to be served it cold. She complained and instead of recooking it they had it reheated. Her toast that she had buttered was all soggy. Very bad service just because they look young?

Curry di I believe is one of the best days they have in any Wetherspoons good variety including vegetarian and a lovely chicken korma that's what we had between us both swapped out rice for chips perfect with a pint

Prices are amazing, staff always friendly. No wonder it's always busy. Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or a jug of Pims with a mate.

First time visit and a lovely meal. There was a varied menu and good service. It was not high dining but value for money, good honest food, no fancy bits.

So happy to see the mushroom risotto on the menu permanently not just at Christmas I had it with the chicken which was ok not chewy or too dry my husband had the buttermilk chicken burger always a good choice it's just a real real pity that this Wetherspoons don't know how to heat a plate up properly and always serve hot food on it we have been to quite a few Wetherspoons and out of the ones we visited this one certainly isn't the best on service or hot food shame really as it's our local and they can do better if they want to

I've lost count how many times I have eaten here with my family. Brunch/lunch/drinks I've never been disappointed. I've used the app to order but also queued to order at the bar. I've had family visit from London who was very impressed with the service, food quality and cleanliness of the pub, which concur with my own views. The food is generally very good and staff are willing to substitute items that cause allergies etc. Whilst not fine dining standard, the value for money is amazing and definitely a bonus for those on a budget or in a hurry. They offer a good value children's menu and have different deals such as Fish and Chips, pizza, curry days etc. Well done staff at the Willows.

Came here foe lunch. I don't know why I keep expecting better because each time I'm disappointed. My chips were cold and they forgot the onion rings that came with the meal. I had to ask twice for them and when they eventually came they were cold and soggy. This place could do so much better. It's a good meeting place and plenty of room for people with kids. If only the food was a better standard. Everyone working here looks miserable too!

This a modern busy pub with the cheapest prices in town. If you are looking for a cosy pub for a quiet drink then you might want to pass this one by. However if you want cheap beer, reasonably priced basic food and efficient staff you’ll find this place Okay.

went with friends to Burns Night, No neeps given extra potatoes instead . No vegetables on offer. Heard bad reports locally but thought , cannot be that bad ....it was! Avoid for food .Pity for a small suffolk town , Back to our LOCAL

The food was cold so it was returned and worse was sent out. The fish and chips were the worst. Good price but poor food.

We keep trying to give this place a second chance and it keeps on letting us down. I am aware it is a cheap eats place but you can’t allow dirty tables dirty glasses and cutlery and sloppy food. If you are going to offer basic food you need to at least get the basics right And not a filthy establishment

We never come here for a drink but often come for breakfast or morning coffee.

We use this as our go to for a quick lunch or Supper. No frills but the food is okay and so is the service. Have to clear the tables most times. But a good thing is the App. You can order everything at the table and pay for it their so no queueing. Only problem is if you want a drink with no ice or something different as not the facility to change it.

Visited for Steak night with my elderly parents. Fantastic service and the steaks were great. The manager Sara was so friendly, we had a brilliant night. Will definitely return soon.

Ok this is the Wetherspoons chain. You get what you pay for, food and drink cheap so you don’t expect too much. Can be hit and miss wether it’s going to be a a good meal/service or a bad one. Today was somewhere in between. Place full so sat down at previously used table so very dirty with plates etc strewn all over the table. Sat for a while thinking someone would come and clear the plates.... they didn’t! We had to ask! They came straight away and cleared table but didn’t wipe table down . (Lots of food and drink still over it) then had to ask again, this time the barman said he would do it, and came straight away and couldn’t apologise enough. Food came, not piping hot but ok ish! The other two members had the “roast “ no Yorkshire puddings just a small portion of so called meat veg and mash in the middle of a plate ( very small) as I say it’s hit and miss and you can’t expect to much fir the price but today was not a good day.

Like most Wetherspoon pubs,this one offers great value for money. I particularly like the choice of beers on offer, and usually drink Sharps “Doombar”.

The pub is very nice the staff are very friendly and my mum and sister enjoyed the food. The food is delicious and very tasty and it was very quickly brought out to us.

Good food at a value price. No frills, just what you expect from a Wetherspoons. Like most Wetherspoons these days it could do with a bit of tlc.

So I wanted to take my sister out for lunch as she has had a bad time recently. I thought willow tree is close and affordable. My sister went to the bar and got the drinks in I had a Pepsi which was flat and horrible. It took at least 10 minuets to grab any ones attention when I finally did the waitress was very attentive and apologetic. The mains were good, my sisters chips were a bit hard but I had nothing to complain about. I have been a waitress my self and I know how difficult it is so I don’t like complaining. We had some deserts and we love the fact that they have mini brownies, perfect for after the meal. Although I had a hair in mine, so I asked the same waitress that exchanged my drink if she could get me another brownie. Overall it just wasn’t the best experience here.

We stayed in Stowmarket for 2 nights and we visited The Willow Tree a couple of times, the staff were friendly the beer was good and i recommend the full english breakfast for £4.99.

Quick meals not home cooked, but not bad if in a hurry. Drinks very good price. Staff friendly and work very hard.

They still desperately need to know that hot food really does need to be on a hot plate so happy to see the mushroom risotto back on the main menu as they only ever had this on Christmas and being a flexitarian I mostly eat meatless meals so well done for that also great to see eggs benedict back on breakfast along with a small version of both eggs Benedict and mushroom Benedict

Thursday night trip to the willow tree. Quiet inside and plenty of seating. Some ‘interesting’ locals but nothing too disturbing. Staff very friendly and had good banter. Cheap too as per. Would return

Can't even pop in for a pint anymore because you cannot get past the "mile long" queue of people at the bar (strange people queuing at a bar, is it not long enough?), this (very long!) bar has only got 1 kid serving on any busy night and don't get me wrong he or she certainly works well for his or hers poor wage packet! You'd think after all this time the management would tackle such a problem but seems they are just as effective as the queuing at the bar and only staffing enough people to run a small cafe let alone a pub and restaurant.

Eating at a Spoons usually carries with it a near certainty of exceptionally good value, cleanliness and service. Regrettably, The Willow didn't come up the mark.

Had a few beers here with a mate, service was quick and beer was cold so what’s not to like. Sat in the beer garden which was great apart from the view lol

Food was good as usual, service was good as usual but one or two of the tables were slightly sticky, could of been that they were used before we got in there or they need a new varnish but as the breakfast is cooked so nicely it can be overlooked, will be going back

Gave it a chance, wished we hadn’t bothered! Food was undercooked and raw first time, then they brought out a second try and all they’d done was re cook what we’d sent back! Refund was apparently issued but still not received and despite 3 calls and 2 emails I still haven’t had the refund! Please don’t waste your time,money or taste buds!!!

Not good service you wait ages to get served and the food is nothing special not a place for a special occasion

I'm writing on behalf of my mum. Yesterday lunch time my mum and her partner visited The Willow Tree and ordered food, Mum is a Vegetarian veteran of 25yrs. so she ordered a cheese and tomato panini with salad and her partner ordered a pizza. Upon receiving their food they both noticed a chunk of chicken in the salad, they made the waiter aware of this who was very apologetic and took the food away, Now the problem is they weren't offered a replacement nor a refund or anything by way of an apology, And how the chicken got there in the first place nobody knows as neither ordered anything that had chicken in it. Service was okay but nobody come to do table checks to find out how the meal was, Not happy customers at all.

Visited for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. The usual Wetherspoon value is here and the staff are pleasant and efficient. Stowmarket is a great town in a very nice part of the country, and pub/restaurants like this enhance the location no end!

I was for a business trip in Stowmarket and The willow tree is just perfect. Nice people nice beers nice lads

Came here for a family meal, the staff were rude once our food was bought to the table, the food was cold and there was a bug on the food, I asked for a refund and they refused at first.

We visited here today for a very rare treat, and left really disappointed.

Visited here on a Saturday afternoon, with my partner and granddaughter. I was impressed by there menus there was a general one and kids menu, a vegetarian one, plus a gluten free menu. We where served fairly quickly and the food was very tasty.

It is what it is, Its a weatherspoons and to be honest one of the better ones I have been to. It is clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and polite. The food is fresh and its cheap. What more could you want for a cheap, quick meal?

Love taking my kids here... always friendly service.. always quick... and the prices are very very reasonable ... plenty of food.. with a drink thrown in.. (not literally of course).. would always recommend this for a family lunch treat

Myself and my husband visit here frequently for a mid week cheap bite to eat but I wasn’t happy when I ordered our two meals with a side of garlic bread and it didn’t arrive with our meal. When we questioned it they told us we hadn’t ordered it when we definitely did. They proceeded to cook some for us and then came and told us again that it was their mistake on their behalf and hadn’t put it through but could we go to the bar to pay for it. After saying it was their fault, they wanted me to get up and leave my meal to pay for garlic bread... obviously I said don’t worry about it I’ll go without. This shouldn’t of been dealt with this way at all.

Nearly walked past as didn’t like the reviews. Glad we didn’t, two large breakfasts with unlimited coffee, very good value, great taste, clean, friendly service and food brought very quickly.

Come here a lot and the food is always good and staff are very helpful, particularly the manager. For the price you just can't complain!

Dirty tables and tables not laid properly. Pretty busy pub. Not great. We were only passing by and the Wetherspoons menu was familiar.

We usually enjoy a meal at this pub but so disappointed at the menu change. It's hot weather so why replace knickerbocker glory ... sundaes ...and millionaire sundaes with warm cookies??? Rubbish...they have even taken hot dogs off the menu....Frankie and bennys for us now.

Went here on Saturday, very poor service, dirty tables, plates not cleared away, food left under warming lamps for ten minutes whilst staff chatted, what was still edible when it came was luke warm at best.

This is not a typical Wetherspoon as the service is terrible, you wait forever to get served and the staff have a poor attitude, go elsewhere.

We looked for the nearest Wetherspoons during a long journey . This was not too far off the A14 ( abt 6-7 mins. Easy to find and with a car park directly opposite ( free of an evening)

Went for a very reasonably priced breakfast! Enjoyed a hot coffee, and pancakes- tables were clean service was good.

Best place to eat and drink in Stowmarket. Car park across the road. Inexpensive to park. Lovely inside. Good food. Good beer. Good prices. Couldn't fault it!

Ok if you want cheap eats ... service terrible - 20 mins to get served at bar- 40 min wait for 5 minuet food?????? Tables dirty - deco tired - drunks corner not a good USP. Can’t say I will bother again-

A good wetherspoons - fairly large, but always busy so seats can be a bit of a luxury. Prices cheap as per, and decour fairly nice. We just had drinks and service was quick and drinks were cheap and decent quality. Lovely and clean too with very good toilets.

As a group of friends we start and finish our social run from there each Thursday.

Ordered cheese pizza from the new pizza range with free drink - really tasty with salad. Fish and chips good as well. Very friendly service and clean. Even has an outside garden area. Would definitely go back and have another pizza. Really good value for money in my opinion.

Sometimes you can go in and the foods great and the place is pleasant. Other times the food is shocking and the place is full of drunken kids. It really is pot luck. But it's cheap so hey ho

Good meals at a low price. We are a group of walkers who sometimes stop for lunch here and find it excellent value for money

Good beer and pub grub great value well served. Pub not dirty but just not clean. I bet they scrimp on the cleaning budgets to keep profits up. Would gladly go again when back in the summer. Only 3 stars this time though.

Lively busy town food pub. Good selection of beers but slow service. Typical “pub grub” at reasonable prices.

Good value breakfast as always with Wetherspoons. As always ale is so cold you can't tell how bad it tastes. Saves in training costs. Bang it out cold. Bang it out cheap. It's made em millions.

Food was over cooked and cold, 2nd bad meal hear, thought give it a second chance, wont be going back,...

Service at bar is shocking...When the food does turn up its either dried out, cold, very greasy or all of the above. If you do wish to eat, do yourself a favour just have beers and peanuts. On a positive the coffee is ok.

The food is always good and the chips are delicious. The barmaid was very courteous and the service swift. It's a great place to visit with friends or family, very accommodating and friendly.

Its good its a spoons. Regulars are the usual toothless old mouthy drunks you get in the spoons but cheap cocktails if you can ignore the bants.
