👎🏻Venue: This was not good. The water wasn’t working properly in the toilets, it was dark, dingy and unclean, and absolutely no atmosphere. 🍻Food & Drink: Okay… no food was available (have since heard it’s currently closed - this doesn’t come as a shock). 🥸Clientele: Just us! The barman was helpful though so credit to them. 🌟Summary: Unfortunately this has been left to run down, and eventually close. A good location so we hope someone can do something to revive it.

Stopped here on our way home for a quick drink and was pleasantly surprised. The palace was cheap and cheerful, would happily return.

Great city centre bar. Usually pretty busy. Wide diversity of clientele. Good selection of drinks with a very good rum collection. Recommended.

Despite the profile pic, this pub no longer serves food. However, I was aware of this already. Met my friend for a quiet midweek catch up. Welcomed straight away by the bar man, found comfy cleen quiet space at the back. Great juke box and James the barman kept the drinks flowing. Would highly reccomend here if you want to hear yourself think.

Wow! It's been pre-Covid since I have been in and so how it has changed. No lager except for Heineken and Boretti. Near £5 for pint of Morreti. I was only one in. It was a Wednesday mid-afternoon. One staff and no complaints with staff. This must be one of the many hundreds of pubs across from Scotland that will be shutting in the coming months.

I really liked it. Relaxed atmosphere, background music, friendly staff.

Another place I was glad to still open. Didn't stay too long as I felt out a bit of place, I mean old 😅. The TWIG or Tilted Wig as I used to know it is still a good place, just not my thing any more. Can't complain about the service or cleanliness. If non-intrusive loud music is your thing you'll enjoy it.

Nice relaxed pub. Decent pint. Plenty comfy seats further through towards the far end or prop up on the chairs next to the window.

Visited with a group of friends for a few drinks and food. I was informed that the kitchen would close at 6pm and that there was a limited menu but didn’t realise how limited. The only choices were pizza or Chilli. We ordered three pizzas and a couple portions of chips. The pizza came out after 25 minutes and was cold and reminded me of the cheap £2 Asda own frozen pizzas which We paid £6 each for. I returned the pizza and it took another 30 minutes to come out again. Second time pizza was almost burnt ! Needless to say we won’t be rushing back. So disappointing as pre lockdown this was one of our favourite places to eat as had a fantastic menu.

Yeah I'd go back for sure its good to see these smaller pubs still open since the whole 'covid' carry on. Didnt try the food.

Overcharged, staff couldn't make drinks, martini and lemonade 🤔or brandy and ginger😢 they also complained about customers, won't recommend or be going back.

A late afternoon pint just to kill some time, nice cozy atmosphere, great music, not too busy, all in all it was great.

Was in at 4 pm drinks okay did not have crisps in stock and as for curly fries which was on menu but didn't have not much more I can say.

Visited on Sunday for food and drinks with friends. Lovely friendly atmosphere, food was delicious with healthy portion sizes. Juke box was free which I think added an extra enjoyment to the evening. Highly recommend and will be visiting again very soon.

I went here with my fiancee for food. The menu was a good size with an option to make your own burger choosing from different options. I had one of their special burgers. In it had beef, chicken, bacon, black pudding, haggis and salad. It was a MASSIVE burger that beat me as I couldn't finish it. The portion size of our plates where large and the staff where great. A good selection a beer. When you come here definitely have a burger.

Small but always a fun place. Was there for a party.

Nice little bar but the owner needs to remind the "regulars" it is actually not their bar, unless of course, the corner is reserved for them. I've been visiting this place on and off for a couple of years. One particular guy, tall, wears a wooly hat sometimes, was mouthing about one of your punters the moment he left. Not very wise if you want to attract more customers and could be clearly heard the other end of the bar.

The best burgers in Aberdeen. End of debate. Plenty to chose from. Ive had them all and the scotsman is unbeatable.

Cocktails cost £3.75 Monday - Thursday and thankfully not an overwhelming selection. Food selection was basic but good. if you wanted a burger you had a massive toppings selection like macaroni cheese, slow cooked shredded pork and many more all served with fries and slaw. Staff were helpful in places to go, eat etc. Worth a visit.

Went for girls lunch with 3 friends and it was fine. Plates of food were quite big but very nice. Service great. Had to change glasses as they were dirty and had lipstick on them but girl was very attentive and polite. They even presented us with our birthday teacakes with candles and sang happy birthday to my friend. I had put these in the day before. Would defo recommend and return.

Large platefulls of food not terribly clean place.

I have been here so many times for lunch and the burgers never fail to disappoint. The fact i can use my Taste Card here for buy one get one free on mains makes it even better.

Good food, lovely staff. Can get a little cramped when it's busy, but what bar can't?! Decently priced food and drink too.

Hardly changed since 80s apart from name

Brilliant service, very friendly bar staff and even managed to cater for our last minute food request. The food was amazing as well ordered all the starters and they all tasted awesome! Will definitely be back.

Visiting Aberdeen and arranged to meet friends for a bite to eat in a 'dog friendly' bar! The Wig was suggested! Arrived just before 7.30pm there were 2 people sitting at a table and 1 at the bar ordering food. The waitress seemed to have a problem with the till and went for help. Another gentleman appeared from the back to help and at this point he looked at us and muttered something to her. She took the diners order and we asked for a table for 4 to be told the kitchen was now closed. 730pm on a Wednesday night 3 diners and a couple supporting the bar. With the recent oil crash i think they should be taking as many covers as possible. With this level of customer service I think they will be lucky to see the year out ! Went to 'The Illicit Still' over the road and spent over a ton on food and drinks with 1st class customer service and a bowl of water for the well behaved Seamus!

Beer selection is mainstream. Nothing fancy but decent pub

Great little pub with plenty of choice of drinks but lots of ales! I really like this pub because it can go from a chilled night one night to having punk bands playing and filling up half the pub on a different day. There isn't massive room when bands are playing but makes for a better experience.

Found this pub on the Meerkat 2 for 1 meals app. Not the smartest of looking places but friendly staff and good food. Cocktails were on offer they were excellent.

Pub avec télés. Bonne pale ale. Ambiance calme (entre 20&21h un mardi), fréquenté par les locaux qui viennent descendre quelques bières ou manger. Je me suis laissé tenter par un burger, le Balmoral, avec du haggis. Il était bon. Bien accompagné d’une salade fraîche (on m’a demandé si je voulais une salade ou des frites). Le truc que je n’ai pas compris, c’est l’addition... j’ai pris une pinte à presque 5 £ et l’ai payée, puis une seconde en mangeant avec le burger à 11£, et j’ai payé moins de 10£... cool.

Nice pub with a decent atmosphere. Plenty of tvs if you are interested in watching sporting events.

Great sports bar as the many screens are big; a bit sparse but sofas, it has sofas...

Top quality, having eaten there a handful of times now I've always been more than happy with the whole dining experience from the friendly staff to the tasty food. I highly recommend eating there.

Other than Brewdog this is my fave place to go in Aberdeen (admittedly only been twice ;p) - great people, beers etc and sponsors of the lovely Granite City Brawlers (roller derby team).

I enjoy this pub. Simply so. Decent selection of Ales that cover a wide spectrum. It's one of my go-to places in Aberdeen. Great staff, top service, and their Hot-Dogs are huge and delicious. Great assortment of Rum, Gin and Alco-pops. Nice!

When I go to Aberdeen football matches, friends enjoy heading here for pre-match food and drinks. Nestled on the edge of the city centre, its a much better option for a beer than Simpsons across the road. Good staff, pleasant settings and all round good bar to visit. Certainly be back as the food look amazing!

Great burger menu with a massive selection of options including DIY with a long list of toppings. If you're looking for elegance you won't find it here but if you want great pub food at a good price, served by nice people then you can't do better.

Jenny was very polite and friendly and although new at the job had an obvious work ethic. Excellent customer service skills The chilli beef fries were delicious too

Absolutely cracking night out. Great jukebox with just about any genre you can imagine. Good food at reasonable prices. Bar staff are all top notch, deserve a medal for putting up with me.

Went for what we thought would be a cheap quick meal with my partner. The bar was busy when we arrived but woth people drinking not eating. We asked about door they said it would be a 30 min wait due to a high amount of orders. We didn't mind too much and said we could wait and ordered some drinks. 1 pint down and 30 mins later still no food. Ordered another round and waited a further 29 minutes until we finally asked where our burger and salad was... The whole time we watched as numerous deliveroo drives came in and out collecting orders. It seemed to me that they were prioritising deliveroo orders rather than their sitting customers. Either that or they had accepted far too many deliveroo orders and could no longer cope. Waitresses were not overly apologetic when we asked about our food and couldn't care less. While waiting for more drinks I could see into the kitchen which was grim. Dirty floors with scraps of food under the fryer. Knives in boxes on low shelves - very safe and hygienic... Baking trays covered in grease. After seeing this I didn't have high hopes for the food. I was right when our meals were plonked in front of us my "dressed" club salad that cost £10.95 was dry with a couple of peppers and cucumbers scattered with chicken that was so dry and chewy it hurt my jaw to eat. Obviously it had been reheated and badly. The only good thing was the crispy bacon. But if you can't get a salad right there's not much hope. The chicken burger had the same issue with very chewy dry chicken. We thought The Wig was infamous for its burgers but after that experience we won't be back.

Decided to visit for a drink after the recent Aberdeen v Rangers game. The young lady who served me was extremely pleasant but no Tennents Lager? There was an extremely unpleasant smell around the Bar area which wasn't helped by a member of Staff walking round with a drain plunger in his hand! The back of the Pub was cold, dark and dirty and wouldn't be a place of would order food. To make it all worse all TV's were showing English club Rugby when there was a variety of live sport available including a Scottish Cup QF. The balance of the Staff seemed too interested talking to Bar locals. I am a regular around the Bars of Aberdeen and this is one that is now firmly on my Blacklist. Smarten your act up guys!

Good place to watch sport and good food

Dreadful, dirty, cold and absolutely stinks. Also English club Rugby on every in-house TV when Scottish football was available at the same time on Council TV.. Don't sell Tennents 🤔🤔... Will never visit again ☹️☹️
