Very good menu. Thoroughly enjoyable meal, excellent service and most convivial atmosphere. A traditional pub tucked away and well worth visiting. Highly recommended.

Found this little gem thanks to a friendly local we got chatting to when visiting the area. The pub looks gorgeous from the outside but even better when you see the rear garden, so looked after and pretty with lots of places to sit and enjoy the view and peace and quiet, a bonus was the sunshine. Food was scrumptious, lovely upmarket selection (way above standard pub food) at very reasonable prices and we also enjoyed fabulous homemade desserts. Staff were fantastic, very patient and attentive enough not to be interrupting a birthday lunch for my Grandad, this was to celebrate his 96th birthday and he's asked to return next year! Will definitely visit again, just wished I lived a little closer

Old fashioned British style pub with really good food that is homemade. Very good drinks and bear selection . Very helpful staff. What I think a pub should be as so many are losing their identity by becoming bistros.

Booked a table for 7 at quite short notice for a birthday celebration with family. A varied menu that will suit all tastes as well as children's menu. The food was excellent as was the selection af ales from the bar, all delivered by excellent staff who were attentive to our needs. This pub is excellent and will be used and recommended by us in the future

Excellent ambience and so full of history. Interesting pub with friendly staff and owners. Lovely food and we have visited and ate a few times . The menu is good and value for money is good. The steak is great and a carvery on Sundays is the best around.

We have eaten lunch here 3 times and enjoyed it each time. The first time we were visiting Stourhead, a National Trust property. We chose off the menu and were very pleased with our selections. The food was fresh and hot, the service was prompt and friendly. The second time, we ordered from the daily specials and were also well pleased. The restrooms are clean and well maintained - a definite plus when traveling. There is off street parking behind the building. We definitely recommend it.

Excellent. Very friendly. Just a relatively random stop on a bike ride and absolutely superb. Great atmosphere and decoration, really attentive and friendly staff. My mate had his dog on his bike and I think that stole the show with the cafe. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food, lovely fresh produce from Gold Hill organic farm and such a varied menu. Excellent tasty varied menu- changes regularly. All homemade - delicious sweet and savoury main dishes, whether for a meal out or a snack. Very good friendly service and even crochet items for sale and cards. Next door to farm shop.
