First time back for years found it very nice and staff very accommodating

Dropped in by chance. Highly recommend. Excellent food and service, very pleasant atmosphere. Try it you won't be disappointed

Warm & Welcoming. An unexpected find but will be back. We stopped for a light lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed. I had the vegetarian option Bang Bang Cauliflower. Delicious

Quiet at 18.00 on a Monday hence 1 star dropped for atmosphere but really nice pub, very attentive, helpful and friendly staff. Food was excellent in presentation, taste and quantity and on a half price deal! Could not be better 😀 We had the classic pie and the chicken supreme.

Lizzie was fantastic, very attentive to our needs. The food was superb. We had some questions about the contents of the dishes and either Lizzie knew the answer or came back with the answer very swiftly. 10/10 the best food and service we've had in a while! Under new management, staff very knowledgeable about the menu which caters for all, had a very pleasant Sunday lunch for two with a couple of drinks a cider and bloody Mary and a coffee for £40 highly recommended

Sunday 18th Nov Good food and excellent service from the friendly quietly efficient staff, all for a reasonable price of £63.00 for a 3 course Sunday meal for two including a drink each. Let down slightly by the very small (large egg cup) portion of custard with the crumble. And, charged £8.00 for the Prawn Cocktail starter, even though it was priced at £7.00 on the "Specials" board!?!? Hence knocked five stars back to four.

My wife and I ate here and cannot fault the staff, food or the pub itself. The two ladies working there (Monday 30 Oct early afternoon) were excellent and represented the pub very well. The food was excellent and the service spot on. We will definitely return next time we are in the area and can’t recommend it enough.

Staying in the area overnight and booked the White Horse for evening meal . Great food at sensible prices , friendly and attentive staff . Thank you . Parking was a little bit on the limited side at busy times .

6 of us had a 1230 Saturday lunch here and was great! Staff friendly and helpful, food fresh, hot, flavoursome, really keenly priced and timely service. Lovely to see the pub open again with such a serious commitment by Moss & Co. Thoroughly recommend a stop off.

Very nice place to go and chill. Stayed at the Colston Hall. Word of warning. Walk at own risk. There are no paths to here. Loved the thrill of walking to this place though. Taxi home though chaps. It’s nice sober, but crazy drunk. Greeted well by the staff. Love the yard to sit out and drink. Inside is nice too. Look forward to booking a room here.

We came here on the off-chance having not been able to find anywhere to eat in Southwold and we were not disappointed. Will definitely return for another meal.

Excellent specials board, we enjoyed the ham and cheese croquettes followed by mackerel with capers and tomato salsa. Ghost ship bitter on special. Plenty of seating outside. Water available for dogs.

Only stopped for a drink. Under new management this Inn is excellent friendly staff ,gardens great. We will go back for a meal.

Been coming here for years and loved it under last owner (cosy decor, brilliant menu). Was sad to see it closed, and nervous when discovered it had been bought by a chain. Finally opened a couple of weeks ago and we made it there today. Staff are young but keen and friendly. Decor - yes, it’s uniform and lacks the quirk factor, but it’s all clean and tidy - think restaurant throughout as opposed to pub. Menu much more limited than before and not as adventurous but the food was cooked well and portion sizes good. We enjoyed our lunch and will be back - although note to owners - own goal if dog owners can’t book (even for the bar). Perhaps rethink that?

Lovely pub, in a beautiful spot on route to Southwold, it’s just a shame the traditional pub interior has been removed and replaced with soulless furnishings (presumably by new management). Stick to dinning or drinking outside in the beer garden or pub garden instead.

We have always loved badingham and we're regulars before it closed we decided to try it now its reopened and how disappointed we were we were sat at our table with menus no drinks offered or specials explained they took our drink order after sometime and then our meals I thought id try the £24 rump steak so I thought it would be amazing sadly it wasn't 2 small mushrooms small tomato and chips and my partner had the southern fried chicken with chips and the chicken was only just cooked during our meal the waitress who certainly was not smiley or cheerful walked past our table twice without asking if we were happy with our meal we finished our meal plates not cleared we we went to pay I expressed my concerns with the meal and service to a gentleman behind the bar who to be honest could not have cared less just apologised he said he was trying to train the staff well in my experiences of working in this trade train the staff before opening we shall unfortunately not return which is such as shame as it was one of our favourites

We are so glad to see the White Horse back open and having had a fresh makeover. The food was delicious and served in good time by friendly young staff. The price was very reasonable.

We have booked and paid for a room for our wedding anniversary on 26 March. They have taken our money and I now realise they are shut! I have made numerous attempts to contact them for a refund all to no avail. you can still book rooms via their website. DO BOT BOOK A ROOM. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY! I am just grateful we found out before travelling there and finding it shut!!

Disgraceful behaviour. We should be staying there this weekend, all 3 rooms booked and paid for with a table booked for dinner. After numerous phone calls and emails no response from anybody. Calling a local business it would appear they've been closed/place been empty for some time. Sad if they're covid victims, or whatever, but surely they should close their website, or at least but a message on informing people of their closure. So very very unprofessional

We went to the White Horse for dinner during lockdown in April 2021 and sat outside. It was popular and busy but we were lucky to get a table. The outside seating area is spacious and attractive in a green country setting. The food was good and the service was friendly.

This was a lovely place to eat when we had our first visit so we decided to book it for my mums 60th. 8 of us drive down 40 minute journey to turn up at the whole pub closed? A notice on their door to say due to short staffing. Which we would have totally understood if they had the decency to call their bookings and make them aware. Disgusting treatment. We were then stuck with a huge table of us and nowhere to celebrate a 60th birthday dinner! Won't be coming back here out of principle. You can't tell when they're open as it says open right now and they're not!

They're closed. If you have a booking don't bother travelling. Absolute joke that they think this is an acceptable way to treat people.

Disgusting. Night's stay booked for a 50th celebration...Drove 2 hours to see pub n accommodation all locked up. Called numerous times....no answer yet booking.com still advertising it....impressed? I'm certainly not !!!

Booked to stay in daves shepherds hut for a 50th birthday present. Pub closed, no calls answered, no notification of cancellation. Shocking travelled over 2 hours to get here....we'd best get a refund !!

30 October,I have been to this place many times over the years and had great food but on this occasion booked and they have my phone number.we arrived at 5pm and it was closed we tried to ring with no answer.what has happened to this great pub ,we will never go again after a 45 min drive.

Booked a night away in Dave Shepherds Shed to propose to my other half and use the hot tub. No one there on arrival the shed was filthy no reason to why the shed or the pub was shut. They knew exactly why I had booked it absolutely disgusted I will be taking this further and expect my money back when we couldn't even stay there! AVOID AT ALL COSTS fuming.

Went to the White Horse for a celebration lunch which we had booked only to find it shut, we waited outside ,there were staff inside but nobody answering the door to us or other customers who had booked. Why not answer the door and advise us of problem.??? Their loss is the Dennigton Queens gain . Excellent food and service

Lovely place, exceptionally good food very reasonably priced

We went to the White Horse Saturday evening for a meal. It was really very disappointing. We’ve been there several times previously and always had exceptionally good food, we thought maybe they had changed their chef. My fish pie was so dry, no sauce and piled high with potato, my husbands salmon was really very over cooked and dry. We had apple crumble, Well it wasn’t what I’d call a crumble, a little stewed apple in the bottom of the dish with breakfast oats sprinkled on top, again so dry. I would have complained to the waiter, but they were so understaffed, just two staff looking after a very full restaurant and bar, and felt they had enough to contend with. We won’t be going again and couldn’t recommend it.

What a treasure! Excellent food, ample portions, friendly and polite staff. All at a great price. I will definitely be returning to The White Horse.

Restaurant pub was well furnished with plenty of space for diners and attentive and pleasant staffAccommodation was very good comfortable bedroom and sitting area, huge bathroom with claw foot bath tub and shower attachment.The pub gardens were very nicely laid out and the whole place was well maintained and cared for.Restaurant meals including breakfast were fantastic, well presented, with a wide choice of dishes. Excellent value for money for both accommodation and meals.Lisa the owner is passionate about the place and nothing is too much trouble for her. This is a fantastic pub restaurant highly recommended, a short distance from the coastal resorts of Southwold Aldeburgh and Thorpeness, and a great place to spend evenings dining and relaxing. 5 of us had lunch in midweek. The welcome was warm and the menu extensive In th inclement weather we ate inside =- very comfortable - but the outside space looked very good if the weather was better. We were all more than satisfied with our meals - despite a little hiccup in the service for one of us. All portions were large - particularly the fish and chips which was amusingly described as whale and chips on the bill and the prices were very reasonable. The puddings were very tempting but none of us could manage them

Just like to give the white horse and all the staff a 12 out of 10. Especially the singing chef and his amazing wonderful meals.. Great ale and amazing food perfect get away and service with not just a smile but a jolly old laugh.. Thanks for a great time will be seeing you again..

We had an unexpected visit as we were given the mini break from a family member. We stayed in one of the onsite shepherds hut, called Dave. The pub was sooo busy. We were lucky to get a table outside. Food is good pub grub. Staff were great, especially Lisa. Very hard working lady, and definitely went above the norm. Great system with paying and ordering outdoors. Although we didn't have pizza, the outdoor pizza oven was very popular. The only downsides to the pub were, the ladies loo's were very damp smelling. Considering it clearly had a refurb recently. That let it down. And it was a shame we, as guests on the property didn't have more info regarding they had an outdoor singer on the Sunday and that it closed after lunch service. As we came back wanting dinner. Dave the shepherds hut... was great. Really big space. Own wifi, hob, well apppointed kitchen and appliances, limited utensils and pans, not enough glasses, 2 x fans each side of the bed (which we were very greatful for, as it was super hot) even though it was advertised to have A/C and there was control panel, it wasn't wired in, which let it down, and seemed strange. Lovely bathroom, with a great shower. Also a shame there was no info either verbally or written regarding the hot tub. Which is shared with the other hut. So its a bit of a weird one when you come back to see someone in your garren space. There is however a fire pit and swing seat in their garden, but didn't feel like we could use it... without knowing we could. Also, sadly the water was smelly and green. The water needed changing. Out door shower was lovley. The landscape garden has designed this so well. It's an unusual place to stay. Surrounding areas were nice to visit. I would recommend and I would go again.

Mine hostess makes customers feel very welcome and the inn has a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Unsurprisingly the White Horse is popular and so booking is recommended. There is a good range of well presented food and the portions are more than generous. The car park can become full but cars can be left in the side street. Staff shortages mean that meals can only be served inside but once this difficulty is resolved there is a an attractive garden to be enjoyed when the weather is suitable for Al Fresco dining.

Food is amazing and really friendly and a really beautiful place.

Originally had a booking.com booking for Shepards hut Dave (May bank holiday), we had to reschedule which the owner was very helpful with, she rearranged bypassing the booking.com settings and we were booked in for Shepards Hut Marina 27th August, we called ON THE DAY to ensure all was good, which the owner confirmed. Upon arrival the shepards hut was desserted, the hot tub was drained, we tried reaching out calling and emailing with no reply from the owner what so ever, very disappointed and it seemed so genuine. If the owner could reach out as she will know by this information, we would be very grateful. Ruined my birthday.

Beautiful little pub located in the charming village of Badingham. The outside garden was the perfect rest bite for our long dog walk.

Had a great lunch at The White Horse today. Having driven past the pub on numerous occasions en route to the coast, it was great to finally have a meal there, and it didn't disappoint - we'll definitely be back!

Had the most wonderful stay in one of the shepherd's huts to mark our silver wedding anniversary. Lovely meal in the gorgeous, oak beamed pub (honestly was served the biggest piece of fish I've ever had) and enjoyed chatting with guests and friendly, attentive landlady and staff. Her lovely cat visited us too and looked highly amused when we had to climb back through the window after locking ourselves out. Will look forward to revisiting (before the golden wedding I'm sure). Thanks for making our day so perfect.

Had dinner at the White Horse last night Greeted by the owner the (luscious) Lisa who made us feel very welcome with her brilliant sense of humour Although the pub was full and very busy we were presented with generous plates of delicious tasting food and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for We were aparty of 4 and we would all come again Well done the White Horse

This restaurant is great. We had a lovely family meal with great wine, varied starters and some great as a main. I had the ribs and they portion size was huge. This is was great value and we left absolutely stuffed!

We were staying locally with our friends and booked in for lunch. The pub is in a lovely location and it has lots of outside space. For some reason they weren’t serving food outside on the day we went which was a bit of a shame as our booking had mysteriously gone missing and we had to wait for a table to come available inside. It was very busy so advise booking (and hope they don’t lose it ).The staff seemed friendly and there was plenty on the menu for us and our friend who is vegetarian.The fish and chips were lovely and Mars Bar cheesecake finished the lunch off nicely.Overall it was a good experience and we would go back.

Very extensive menu and excellent food for all. Great choice of puddings. I do feel this is the best choice in the area. Do need to book in advance though as limited indoor space to serve food and were some others disappointed by lack of a table.

If ever staying in, or passing through badingham you must stop here, even if it just for a drink. However for food the fajitas are delightful! I completely recommend this pub to everyone

I booked at 10am yesterday for ameal at 7pm this evening , only to discover at 6pm this evening that the booking had not been written in and so we could not have our meal..the women was rude and blamed her staff...definately not professional behaviour

We stayed at the Inn for 4 nights in the primrose room last week, the room was great, the thing that also made our stay enjoyable was the service and very friendly staff, they are a credit to the Inn. The meals are fantastic, not only well presented and cooked but the amount of food made sure that you didn't leave hungry, we would gladly recommend a stay at this Inn and look forward in visiting again.
