Very disappointing, unwelcoming, dog unfriendly pub. Unusual for a country pub, this pub does not allow dogs inside and is not welcoming for people passing through the village. Not recommended.

Excellent service and a lovely Sunday lunch at this friendly pub. If you have a large appetite you won’t be disappointed ..I couldn’t finish my Lamb Shsnk and because of that was told by my partner that I wasn’t allowed dessert .. still sulking

Just visited the White Horse for a family Sunday lunch. The two girls behind the bar were very friendly and helpful. The menu was extensive and varied with an additional specials board. As it was a Sunday, a roast dinner was available. We didn't wait long for our food which was absolutely amazing. The food was hot and the portion size was generous. We all tried different items from the menu and everybody said how much they enjoyed their food. For what we had received, the bill was very reasonable. I can highly recommend the White Horse and we'll certainly be returning.

Was great service I was coming here for London glory but it was unavailable when I arrived but did enjoy having my old favourite which I have not had for 10 years called abbot ale I usually to the pub up the road for a meal but this was definitely an ok place just for a drink

Visited for a family Christmas meal and had excellent food with great service. Massive portions and fantastic value for money! Would definitely visit again.

I would say it is a drinkers pub although they do have a restaurant . There is a garden at the rear but a lot of people seem to sit out front in what is more like a car park and rather noisy. Great IPA.

About 20 of us went to the White Horse for our dog club Christmas dinner. Fantastic food, great service from the staff and good selection of beer. Will be definitely using this gem more often.

Not a great selection of drinks, dark and dank inside. Not very welcoming or friendly if you are not a local. Exceptionally rude staff - the two young barmaids were polite but the old one is damn right rude!

We popped in on route to our hotel. What a lovely place to eat. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and informative. I requested vegan options which were readily available. Good portions and very well presented. I would highly recommend

We just visited here for a lovely lunch after being turned away from a couple of other places for having a buggy / baby with us. The welcome we received here was very refreshing! The lady behind the bar and who took our order and served us was so warm and friendly! The food was also delicious and very fairly priced. The service was great. We shall definitely be returning!

Came for an early dinner. Food was ok, we didn't expect any better than we got as all Greene King pubs serve similar standard food. The drinks are well priced, although two drinks were charged at one price and then an exactly same drink served by a different member of staff was charged at £1 more, a wee bit strange!! Staff were very friendly and efficient (well, apart from the blonde girl that overcharged for the drink!).

The food here has generally always been good, proper pub grub at a very reasonable price. One area of annoyance is the inability to ever cook a steak as it has been asked for, but I just find it easier to just not have steak now. The burgers have recently changed, and are now very bland and processed, its a shame really as the previous ones were very good. The Lasagna is particularly good. The majority of the staff are very good. One area that I do find pretty bad though is the amount of 'notes to staff' that are pinned behind the bar, within full sight of paying customers. The bar staff have always worked hard when we have been here. The landlady could do with cracking a smile, and should heed the advice she writes so blatantly for the rest of the bar staff.

Friendly staff. Lovely meals which were very good value for money. Didn’t think I could manage all the Caesar salad but did as it was lovely presented and tasty.

A nice traditional pub with good pub grub at reasonable prices. very friendly and attentive staff. garden closed for winter but looked as if it would be nice in the summer.

7 of us had a great dinner. Proper pub food and a lot of choice. The portions are huge and i barely finished one course (and i like my food!). Staff were friendly too. An enjoyable meal.

Service: Friendly and cheerful. Food: Value for money, no masses of plate with miniscule portions stacked up, just a plateful of well cooked, well presented piping hot food. Well worth a visit, you wont be disappointed.

Popped in for a pint on the way to get an Indian but saw the food coming out and thought we'd give it a try. Also the very well kept Abbott Ale may have swayed me. Three of us are, a Mexican style burger, ham egg and chips and cod and chips. All really good, served pretty swiftly by cheerful, helpful staff. Deserts were good too.

Tan impactados que actualmente pagamos por ellos, debería haber ido andando de distancia y al lado del local co-op donde podía haber comprado 2 botellas de 500 ml por £2

Terminamos en el pub sólo porque estábamos en la zona y no nos decepcionó. El personal era muy amable y nos hizo sentir bienvenidos tan pronto como entramos en la puerta. Estábamos tan hambrientos, ya que no habíamos comido toda la mañana, el servicio fue realmente rápido y la comida era increíble, nos apenó no pude terminar todo. Sin embargo pedimos mucho jajaja. Aparecimos aquí, ya que íbamos a una boda en el Down Hall. Tuvimos una cena de carne asada y un asado de cerdo, que eran preciosas. La carne estaba cocinada, verduras patatas asadas muy fresca y deliciosa. Las raciones son enormes y ninguno de nosotros acabamos nuestro plato.

Cuatro de nosotros nos reservamos para una comida de Navidad tarde! Cuando llegamos, el servicio, la comida, el ambiente era absolutamente genial y una fantástica relación calidad-precio. Todo bien hecho.

Pasó por aquí, ya que fue a pasar el fin de semana Dios una boda. Encantador pequeño pub con personal amable. Sandwich de gambas Bar pidió y estaba delicioso...

Visitamos aquí con un amigo en un día de calor un poco de comida y una bebida fría. El interior del pub era su pub clásico británico. Estaba dividido en dos, un bar y un restaurante. Nos sentamos en un jardín encantador que tenía una pequeña zona infantil. Sería estupendo para familias, aunque no hubo mucho sombra cuando estuvimos allí. El menú estaba lleno de clásicos británicos y había especialidades diarias en la junta. La comida era estupenda y el personal del bar era muy amable y servicial. Yo lo recomendaría!

Visited on a Friday evening. Booked a table, but didn't really need to as it was fairly quiet. Great choice of food on the menu and specials too. Portions are big - struggled to fit in pudding too! Staff are friendly, service was quick.

We popped in with Friends for an impromptu lunch.The staff were very welcoming and the range of drinks were very good.We shared a couple of sharing platters and chicken nachos which were fantastically put together and tasted great for a really good price.

We have been there with friends several times food has been excellent plenty of it staff are very pleasant we have never had a bad meal would recommend

Meal very large, a rareity nowadays! Very tasty suet pudding with veg. Daughter had baguette and my husband had steak pie. Very good value. Staff very nice and attentive. We shall return!

Great food I had the rump steak and the Mrs had the mixed both great and the puddings were good the apple crumble was so big she couldn't finish it.staff were pleasant in bar and restaurant all in all great night recommend

If you're looking for drink in nice clean pub with pleasant surroundings then go elsewhere. And beware, if you briefly sit on the tables outside and haven't bought anything you will be moved on even if all the tables are free.

We had booked our daughters first birthday here, and we couldn't fault the service we received. They laid on a amazing buffet which everyone one ate, they allowed us to have face painter in the garden, and we brought our own garden toys which they were fine with, plus the beer garden in huge with a children's play area,the whole day went smoothly. Definitely recommend.

This was my 2nd visit to The White horse and I think you get pretty much what you expect for pub food. The portions are on the large side and although heavy reliance on the deep fat fryer with a lot of the starters everything we had was fairly tasty and worth the money. The wines are also resonably priced and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and work very hard. I dont think this place is trying to be something it isnt , its definately not as refined cooking as the Thatchers but overal I think its very good value and would definately return.

We live locally and have been to this pub to eat on numerous occasions. It has always been great value for money and somewhere I would recommend. That was before I met the landlord. On our most recent visit I found what looked very much like an animal hair in my dinner. I informed the waitress who didn't appear very interested and went to fetch the landlord once I said I wasn't paying for my meal. The landlord was extremely rude, informed me it wasn't there when the dish left the kitchen and when I asked if he was implying I had put it there said he would be calling the suppliers in the morning. I had had vegetable fajitas so I'm not sure which this supplier this would be. He then went to check with "the chef" as the waitress seemed reluctant to verify the hair existed. All I wanted was an apology which he said I had had because I wasn't paying for my meal. The most rude and arrogant service I have ever received. Needless to say I won't be going back there. He didn't seem too bothered when I informed him of this so I assume he doesn't care about upsetting his customers.

Really the best Sunday roast around. The portions are enormous and very reasonably priced when compared with other pubs in the vacinity. The puddings are delicious too. Lovely staff who are both friendly and very helpful.

It was by chance that we came upon this place,and are we glad we did.The bar and restaurant staff are so friendly and make you very welcome.We ordered some drinks and then decided to order some lunch after seeing other peoples food being served.The portions are huge and the meals come out piping hoy which is always a bonus.The food is delicious and well presented.The sunday roasts are to die for!and a great choice of meats.The specials board is extensive as is the main menu.All in all a great place to relax in a warm and friendly atmosphere with delicious food.Will definately be returning.

Myself and the family came upon this place completely by fluke, as we were looking for a place to have a drink so started off in the place next door but walked straight out as felt very un-clean and a weird atmosphere. Just by chance we noticed the white horse next door and thought it looked nice so went in, it had a lovely feel to it and we were welcomed by one of the staff instantly which was nice. We had got our drinks and sat down, when we started to notice customers food coming out from the kitchen and it looked brilliant so we thought, right let's go mad and try the Sunday roast. Wow! Amazing food, huge portions, fresh food all delivered in really good time by very friendly staff. I have lost count how many times we have been there now and it has never let us down. Just to note as well that the prices are extremely reasonable and they always have a new board of specials, full of different foods to try as well as an extensive menu normally plus - a rareity in this day and age - fantastic customer service! Well done!
