The White Horse in Central Bedfordshire

Not been in for three years, turns out there’s a new governor. We were made welcome on the phone and when we arrived. The good news carried on because the pint of Tribute I ordered was excellent. Following a bad experience elsewhere this was a tonic! The wine was also brilliant (I’m told by my partner). Very friendly staff, great venue (mind your head it was built in 23BC, even the Romans banged their heads on the lower beams). What a superb finish to a sunny summer weekend. They have Magnafest going on here soon, we will be back, can’t wait! 👌🏾

Just wanted to say if you like to be treated like drit on your shoe, have to share your main chips with your Co worker and wait 30 minutes after them taking your plates to not be offered another drink (empty when they collected plates) and not be asked of you like to see the desserts menu. Then this is the place for you. Good luck, but I'd avoid.

Went to the white horse whilst on a course with a coworker. Greeted by disinterested barstaff and and most unwelcome atmosphere. I had brie bites for the starter which had obviously been defrosted (badly) as were still cold and hard in the middle with the seasoning of a lovely black hair to finish them off. The main was not as described and we were given a bowl of chips to share? I guess they assumed we were a couple? We were then left for over half an hour and not offered anything more. After waiting we decided to just pay at the bar and leave. Worst pub experience.

What can I say apart from really good food with big helpings which were definitely freshly cooked. The staff are nice It was good value for money. I enjoyed myself. The place is well laid out and the chairs and tables were comfortable. The loos were clean.

The White Horse has been revived!!! The restaurant has been decorated and looks amazing. The food is out of this world!!...... Pub grub and pub grub prices but all the food is home made and freshly prepared and it tastes absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! For a pub the bar prices are very reasonable, on the non restaurant side there is a pool table and a juke box (both free of charge on Thursdays!) The garden is absolutely enormous and really well tended to with plenty of seating. The staff are all friendly and chatty and even in busy periods the service is great. Can't recommend this pub highly enough!!!

This used to be a great family pub - a real treasure for the village but it sadly went downhill for a few years. But I’m glad to say it’s back and I’m so pleased. It is doing food again. Simple pub food, but done to a very high standard. A few other establishments boast about ‘award winning’ chips but they are not a patch on these! Best chips E V E R! I had a beautiful cod and chips. Scampi was lovely and the steak was great. Staff were funny, engaging and professional. A great vibe made it a perfect summer evening at our village pub.

With a recent change of management this local village pub and restaurant is set for a revival. Service is very good and tables within the restaurant can be reserved, as indeed we did. Food is typical pub fare, but is well prepared and presented. Parking can be problematic, with limited onsite parking and some on street parking. As a typical village pub, much of the custom appears to come from the local population, for which parking is of little concern. With family moving into the area I'm sure our visit will end up as one of many.
