Proper boozer. 16th century building, bit worn around the edges but shedloads of character, you pay for the beer in your glass not the paint on the walls. And at £3.20 for an excellent 3.9 light bitter you'll have enough left over for a pickled egg! Sun trap beer garden and friendly staff a bonus.

Wonderful town pub great bar team traditional ambience. Good small music venue. Recommended.

You step back in time as you walk in. Friendly community vibe pub, untouched by time. We visited to be greeted with re-enactments, outside bars and BBQ, great fun and great ale, supplied by their own brewery.

Traditional local, if you just want a decent pint, then pop in, no frills with great people and dogs always welcome... definitely try the white hart...

It's hard to give a fair review of this location because it never seems to be open. So if you want to go here do NOT trust the hours in Google and call ahead and verify they are open. Or do yourself a favor and just go to the Red Lion which is not too far away and was great and actually adhered to their posted hours.

Great community pub. Warm welcome from staff and those enjoying a drink. Visited a few times while visiting on the canal. Dog friendly and good ales. It's a must if in Ellesmere

It's still a real pub. No food. Good nice people. A pub where you still can socialise even as an outsider. They welcome everybody be it by staff or customers. Unfortunately a dying breed of pub which we are in dire need of.

They dont do food but you can take your own or take away in and eat inside or out in huge beer garden Very Dog and human friendly plenty of choice ales and spirits some fab ciders At lowest prices around really old feel, cosy pub and customers so friendly, bar staff amazing definitely recommend

We were on a canal holiday and the White Hart had been recommended a couple of locals. Great selection of beers and a real community feel to it - it's how pubs were and should be. Attentive staff and friendly locals - also dog friendly 👍

We had a great week in town of Ellesmere. The White staff and locals all made us feel very welcome. Great selection of beers with reasonable prices. An all round lovely pub. Especially enjoyed the mid week music played by the locals. Wonderful atmosphere

A warm, welcoming and traditional pub. The owner and his pub are superb, the locals want to get to know you and the beers and ciders are fantastic. If your are looking for a non-alcoholic number, he’s not just paying lip-service, he actually wants to ensure you find something you’d like to enjoy. 10/10 - visit the White Harry (dog in tow) and enjoy a beer and a board game.

A historal grade II listed old pub, lovely building and area. It has changing great guest ales, a good selection of other drinks including lager beers too. The new friendly, welcoming management team seems to be doing well and the locals seem to have taken to the new team. A drinkers pub, competitive and reasonably priced drinks and ales and also is now a venue for country music nights. Worth a visit most definitely and Ellesmere is a lovely town with some gorgeous buildings, good restaurants, local shops, supermarkets and the Llangollen canal is never too far away from the centre of the town itself...

You can't get more of a traditional English country pub, real fire, good beer and a warm welcome. Good outside space round the back, with more improvements on the way. I travel an hour to go to this place!

Fabulous real local boozer. Fantastic value, a warm welcome and dog friendly. Well kept, rotating real ales so a must visit for real ale drinkers but also serving a fantastic local lager, make sure you try a pint of Plan B.

Historic local pub down a side street from the centre. Two rooms: comfortable lounge to the right, with games room cum public bar to the left. Evidence of the age of the building is apparent in the construction of the walls. Friendly welcome, great cask ales. Highly recommended.

Amazing pub! Real authentic old English country Inn. I think it's the oldest pub in the county. Best pub in the town and also best real ale selection. Can't go wrong here!

We had hoped to eat a meal here but were told by the barman that no food was served. It was one of those places where everyone in the place turned and looked at us as we walked in - and then walked out! I did not eat or drink there, but the place looks lovely.
