A friend booked a table for 14 of us, the service was excellent and the food was lovely. I will definitely be going there next time I'm in the area.

Had a lovely Sunday roast (beef and jam rollypoly for dessert) here today, it really was first class, I thoroughly recommend it!! Thanks!

Popped in on the off-chance for Sunday Lunch and we took the last table. We both had the roast beef and it was perfectly served and supplied with a nice selection of vegetables. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Will definitely be back for more. Thank you

White Hart at Bishopstone. Lovely food, very hot when it arrived. Crispy battered fish and nicely cooked chips. Lovely staff too. We'll be back. Recommended.

Lovely country pub were so accommodating when 16 landed on them at very short notice for food & the food was 1st class. Highly recommend the meat platter & the fish n chips.

Excellent food .we could not fault a thing we all had roast different meats and we all thought it was excellent ..The service from the staff was 5 star . The environment was lovely low music and clean .also accommodate for people who are gluten free . I would highly recommend the White Hart

Had the New Yorker burger from the takeaway menu. It was amazing and just as good as if I was eating in. My partner and I have been here before and it's always good!

Our visit today was ok food was hot and quite enjoyable ...maybe a little salad would have finished the meal off especialy 17.00 a head for the fish and chips ....the only disappointment was when we turned up Oh you have a dog 🐕... yes it said on line dog friendly pub !! Our tiny 5 month old puppy yorkie was not a problem just sat on her blanket We were sat where other chairs were the dart board etc ....table could of done with a wipe very sticky ....we felt oh well you cant use the other part of the pub ! I compared our one table to others no salt and pepper or glasses at least we got cutlery... not sure if we will return .. Have been to other pubs with host being much more friendly ....

Good service, good food staff very helpful

My mum has lived in the area for over a year and we’ve never made it, until today. I can honestly say it’s one of the best pub meals I’ve had in ages. I had the Jamaican Goat Burger. It was absolutely delicious. I’m not usually that adventurous but I’m really glad I was. Also, love that the kids menu had salad as a side as well as the usual peas, and beans etc. Even better that wasn’t an enormous child’s portion that usually gets partially wasted. The service was excellent the lady behind the bar was super friendly and helpful. The only negative was the ladies bathroom could do with a spruce and what’s with the huge industrial sanitiser stands. We will definitely visit again. It’s such a shame the place isn’t busier it should be just on the food alone.

Smashing, great food, had the cod, chips and mushy peas for a change very good piping hot crisp cod just right for a Friday! Back on Sunday for their superb roast and proper puddings! I mean the golden syrup sponge or spotted duck with custard! Other puddings are available like posset! 👍 Thank you!

A perfect place for a works Christmas meal, the decorations are perfect, the staff were welcoming and patient (we were a large group)!... The festive menu looked delicious, we ordered in advance and we were not disappointed, the starters were served promptly and tasted amazing, then the festive mains went down a treat, no complaints and full tummies all round! The desserts again were delicious and the perfect end to a lovely evening with friends and colleagues. Happy Christmas to us and all the staff who helped to make it a special night!

We had a fantastic Sunday roast . I had lamb it was the best lamb I'd ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection. ..service was great polite and attentive .nice surroundings .

We always have a lovely time when we meet up here, the food is amazing, the staff are friendly and welcoming, they are always happy to help with dietary needs and the prices are very reasonable. We have tried several different localish places but always end up back here dispite the distance for some. Can't be beaten locally thats for sure! Thank you for always making us feel welcome and comfortable!

Stopped in at The White Hart for lunch with my Wife and children along with my Dad. The staff were very friendly and we were given our choice of where to sit immediately on arrival. There is a lovely atmosphere inside and a cosy feel to the place. We were served very quick and efficiently, there were no long waits for drinks. The food was perfect, i had the battered halloumi and chips which was amazing. My family's food also came out looking and smelling great. The portion sizes here are very generous and you are given a wide range of condiments to compliment whatever meal you have ordered. The desert list is very good also, you have your choice of many different sweet treats and a very nice selection of ice cream flavors. The cheese cake is particularly amazing and Once again good portions! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and have already got our hands on their Christmas menu, which looks fantastic. Very much looking forward to coming back. 10/10

We found the staff a little unapproachable, there wasn’t a feeling of welcome, and they didn’t interact at all. Food was not cooked to a high standard, the potatoes were solid almost hard, the meat was quite tough and the gravy tasted like instant and the taste over powered everything

Sunday roast for family meet up. Bit of a nostalgic visit as we moved into Netton Close in 1954 and it was our family home and obviously local pub for 30-40 years. This is possibly the worst roast I have had. Roast potatoes rock hard/ solid and I would think not roasted in oven. Mixed roast, but none of the meats were easy to cut let alone chew. Not very friendly staff and we weren’t made to feel part welcome. Definitely not worth the money.

We meet our friends here once or twice a year. The food is wonderful. The member of staff who looked after us is friendly and helpful and we would recommend it to everyone. The steak and Gunness pie was ACE.

Excellent lunchtime visit. We were the only customers on a Wednesday lunch session. Food excellent, sensible prices, friendly staff. Deserve to be much busier! Confession: we were turned away from the nearby Fox & Goose as they were fully booked. There is no justice, as The White Hart compared favourably, just a little too far off the beaten track for most I suspect.

Food was great lovely roast dinner all round and reasonably. Not a criticism but forgot apple and horseradish sauces, but once asked there in seconds. The gravy is amazing.

Anyone with a dietary requirement should call in here. I am coeliac and the staff could not have been more helpful and reassuring. Food was lovely, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. I will definitely revisit and recommend.

We visited for my husband's birthday dinner after a day at the Chalke Valley History Festival and found the service and food excellent. Particularly, I have multiple food allergies and eating out can be generally very boring for me because I can only eat very plain food, and also quite stressful. However, the staff were very helpful and flexible and made it an easy and pleasant experience. I had a plain salad starter and steak dish but both looked very appetising and were delicious. My husband also enjoyed his meal very much. My only less than positive comment is that the Ladies loos need an update! Thank you for a lovely evening :)

We went to the White Hart for the Wake of my wife's mother. It's such a nice country pub which should be visited just to keep pubs like this open. The staff are very nice. They serve meals such as pub lunches. There's also plenty of parking.

Everything was perfect friendly helpful staff I have gastric bypass done so i can't eat an adults meals so I asked if I could have a child's meal even though it said for only under 14's so I was very pleased when the Waitress said it was fine Some places ive been to won't do it so thanks again xxx

Didn't know quite to expect from our evening since we were five for dinner with a lively toddler but the White Hart was well up for such groups complete with interconnecting indoor/outdoor spaces and play area for toddler and adults (skittle alley) while waiting for our meal. The food arrived -classy pub grub complete with well-chosen house wines. Our hostess knew all about toddlers: she moved forward with lightning speed with colours and paper when the 3 year old looked as if he might become restless... Five stars with distinction!

We visited on the 28th of July, we were looked after by Michelle, it was nice to know we are from neighbouring counties of Cumbria and Lancashire. What a lovely country pub, the food was excellent as was the beer. The kids and I had the Steak and Guinness pie and the wife had the fish and fizz deal which she really enjoyed, the desserts were also excellent. Would highly recommend it if in the area. An absolute gem of a place.

Today we had the pleasure of attending the pub for a Christening party. Such a welcoming and friendly pub. All the staff went above and beyond. The hog roast was fantastic and the choice of salads were amazing. Thank you for a fabulous day.

Very disappointed as the reviews suggested great ales and food. I found neither. Staff were nice and service attentive but and it is a big but - the food and drink was awful. In these days when the public expect excellent food and a well conditioned and stocked bar, this experience would not encourage me to revisit. I appreciate that based on prior reviews this may have been a one off with regular staff not present when I visited but you only get one chance to deliver this sub standard service. Sorry I won’t be visiting again.

We held an 80th birthday lunch for my Mum today for 28 people. Tom and Zara were so accommodating beforehand and on the day. The staff were so welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. The food was exceptional, it wouldn't be out of place in a fancy London restaurant. I can't recommend this pub highly enough.

Fantastic Food, Friendly Staff and warm, welcoming atmosphere🍔🍽️ Booked over the phone before Christmas and Met an old friend with our families for a meal here as it was halfway between us, we were the only people dining here today which is a shame as its a fantastic venue, was a little worried being the only ones that things may not be a high standard, but oh boy I was very much put in my place🍽️ the food was delicious, the mains and deserts were perfection, us and the kids loved it all😋 it was fantastic that they'd put as much effort and enthusiasm into the 7 of us as I'm sure they would a larger crowd! Very pleased and would recommend this place to anyone🍔🍽️ we'll most definitely be visiting again in the future, thank you so much!

Booked a table for twelve for a family dinner and we were not disappointed. Host very friendly and attentive. Food arrived pipping hot and prompt. Both adult and childrens meals were delicious and we will certainly comeback again. Would highly recommend.

We've visited several times in the last 3 years and have not yet had a bad meal. In fact, I can't remember one that was anything but very nice. Even the takeaway is good. The steak pie is great, theres some good veggie options and the portions are generous. By the time you get to the pudding you have to pace yourself. The cider is nice too.
