Community cafe preparing freshly made food from a good choice menu. No frills but clean and accommodating. Popular requiring pre booking some days. We use regularly.

We were looking for somewhere to have breakfast in the area and discovered The Whistling Teapot which was a great find. Our breakfast was delicious and service was friendly.

Men only Breakfast Club Meet here every Wednesday morning for an orange juice/T or Coffee and a bacon buttie or full breakfast. Very friendly staff and good service. a good place to meet and put the world to rights.

Went for breakfast with wife and two kids. Missus is a coeliac (no gluten) and we both had a great full English whilst both kids had two great sausage sandwiches. Food is always nice here and staff very polite and helpful.

Cheap ingredients and price inconsistencies although staff friendly. Have to ask for sauces which are passed around in unhygienic glass bottles. Jury is still out.

40 Canterbury RoadAbsolutely LOVE this wee gem of a place. Staff are so welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much or too little for them. Our girls adore meeting up with four legged friends and even have a puppy/doggie playpen for off the leash antic Update 14/03/25... No longer have dog pen but it's not a loss. Still a fantastic place with smells of home baking, fresh pizza and bacon awaiting your arrival. Chris is fantastic as are the girls, make you feel more than welcome and nothing too much for them. Honestly, a wee jewel in the crown for dog cafes.

6 North EndI had the best sandwich I’ve ever had at Mes in Sedgefield ( Prosciutto, Brie & Rocket with a Balsamic drizzle on a warm Ciabatta ) The ingredients were so fresh, and the flavours were just perfect. The staff were incredibly polite and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Great atmosphere and excellent service—I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
