Great pub, great atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming

City centre pub, good beer, fresh cobs, they do a nice two course Sunday lunch and serve grey peas and bacon at the bar when the weather gets cold, tend to pop in once or twice a week for a quiet drink and I'm always made to feel welcome by Lisa and her friendly bar staff, gets very busy on match days, large beer garden out the back, I'd recommend this pub if you are in town and fancy a drink.

Amazing beer and the cheese and onion cobs are the best of the best. Fabulous bar staff and tonight's DJ is superb. Love this place, always bring the family, the bedt pub in Wolverhampton

Visiting the area for work and ventured into a few pubs which were very disappointing. Spotted the Wheatsheaf with lovely outside decor and looked well kept. Very friendly staff, nice welcoming atmosphere. Small inside but spotlessly clean and a good selection of drinks available. Bar person was really nice and served us in less than a minute. Drinks served promptly, glasses immaculate, cheap prices compared to previous pubs we went in. Tables had signage for drinks Promos and all clean and tidy. Asked if there was a smoking area, and directed clearly to the outdoor area. This pub was like a tardis and opened up into a vast outdoor space with lots of seating, gazebo area with lights, heaters and outdoor tv which was a very pleasant surprise. Thank you for having us and keep up the good work!

Great little pub for a few drinks, not the most room inside but there's quite alot of space in the back outdoor area, drinks are fairly priced and has a good atmosphere, plenty of food shops opposite aswell, can get very busy/loud on football days.

Bank Holiday Sunday. They did close early but the cheese & onion cob made up for it!!

I worked here 30yrs ago so was interested to see what if anything has changed, much had but it still felt like the same place. As she wasnt familiar with the tap ciders my wife was given a taster of one which was a nice and thoughtful touch. Pricier than some of the bars in town but not too bad, decent cheese and onion crusty cob at the bar was like taking a trip back in time, good pint of Guinness too. The few regulars we spoke to appeared a friendly bunch. As a veteran I appreciated some of the flags adorning the ceiling. Half decent outside area, personally I'd screen off the bins but there's only so much you can really do in a courtyard area.

My first ever visit to Wolverhampton this was the second pub i was brought in by a lifelong wolves fan before we went to the West Ham game. There is an excellent choice of cask conditioned hand-pulled real ales. The ones we tried were very good. The staff were very friendly and efficient even though they were rushed off their feet. There is a lot of wolves memorabilia on the ceiling, and a nice big outdoor seating area. We came back in the evening. It's a really lively pub.

Absolutely amazing place, lovely landlady and staff that will cater any request, drinks selection is fantastic and something for everyones taste, the food which is served there is undeniably delicious and would definitely recommend the Sunday roasts or burgers... Will definitely be stumbling in or out of there again 😁😂

A close knit pub with great people and the Sunday dinners are ace

Every time I go to this pub the staff are so warm and welcoming and nice to talk to aswell and as for the landlady she is always happy and willing to other when needed thats what make me come back for more drinks and laugh.

What a difference to the last time I had a drink there. The pub looked and smelt clean and the staff were very friendly. We had a Sunday dinner, which was tasty and delicious. Met the chef and was impressed to find she came out of the kitchen to ask if our meal was ok. Will be back for sure.

What a fabulous pub. Visited for a pint on our way to a gig in Wolverhampton. Enjoyed it so much we went back afterwards. Great atmosphere, great locals and incredibly friendly staff.

It’s been almost 25 years since I was last in Wolverhampton and this is first pub I entered and it feels perfect. The service is absolutely lovely. Quiet polite local joint for a quick pint. And on Tuesday’s I’m learning all pints are under £3! Not a bad experience after I tip my hat to the lovely bartender who poured me a perfect pint.

The reason why I've only given it 2 star's is the beer was not very good, in which there's no excuse a pub should have good beer all the time I go to some public houses and the beer is consistently excellent

Great traditional pub with a great traditional pub atmosphere. Karaoke is on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday which is always entertaining. Sunday you can get the best Sunday dinner in town for a very reasonable price and personally I highly recommend the cheeseboard which are also Amazing. Staff are a mixed bunch of characters who are always very welcoming and the Land lady one of the hardest working women in town is a lovely young lady called Lisa. I highly recommend the Wheatsheaf to anyone either local or visiting the city.

This Wolverhampton pub is the only pub I know that sells Wolverhampton beer in the city centre. The staff are a pleasure and where other pubs seem to change staff regularly, the staff here have been here for years. I suggest you do a taste test on the beer here compared to the other pubs and I guarantee you will return. The Sunday roasts are truly amazing, a real must !

They must pick and choose who to serve. Waited 20 minutes at the front of the bar to get ignored and watch them serve people who queued well after me

Nice place, serving good (mostly Banks’s) beers. We were hoping to eat, but they only do meals on Sunday - though cobs are available during the week choice of cheese and onion, or onion and cheese smiled the friendly barman 🤭).

Hi I like to thank Lisa and Matt for lovely welcome and food today. Thank you both of you. I was very disappointed with attitude and service of the bar staff today who totally ignored wait customer at the top end of the bar, today I was going to stop and watch England match but had to leave today due to lack of service and attitude of barman. I dont complaining about my local pub but today I was left with no choice. Foe first time in all th time I have used the place I actually walk out because the bar staff attitude in serving a customer. about

What a place! Cracking Atmosphere, warm and friendly welcome from all staff etc Albeit The Glass Collector seems to be quite protective over his Glasses 😂😂. My personal highlight was the DJ turning down the music to announce the footy half time scores.

Come up from London quite often for the football and been to plenty of pubs in wolvo and this has gotta be one of the best for atmosphere. Also has a nice beer garden with a bar which is a big plus 👊👊👊

A tired and rather drab town center pub. As popular as it still is it could benefit from at least a bit of " Oomph". Beers, staff, decor all need a considerable upgrade to create a more ambient atmosphere. If you're not talking to your wife then you need to visit here. Perfect!!
