Bien vale la pena mientras que el 10 minito viaje en autobús desde el centro de la ciudad de Wolverhampton. Gran ambiente tranquilo y siempre una buena opción de cervezas y sidras, incluyendo sus propias cervezas Morton - Essington.

Cracking micro pub. Conveniently placed with a quiet friendly atmosphere. A great choice of beer and ale. Enjoyed a cracking cheese and onion cob and enjoyed the habanero chilli scratchings too. Will definitely be back. Real shame its not open on Mondays as our son had a scouts meeting round the corner then. Would be a great place to unwind for a couple of hours. Still can't have everything. Beautifully kept beers, comfortable setting, friendly bar keep. 5* all round 👍🏻

The best micropub in town (maybe even the world). If I were Donald Trump I might say "It's terrific, really terrific." Thankfully, I am not Donald Trump. But what I am is a lover of all the places in life where you can go for a quiet drink with your friends and family, and enjoy their company and good conversation over some nice beers/ciders/snacks. As such, Hail to the Ale is the place to be for me.

I've been coming to Hail for years now. I know so many people (and gorgeous dogs) because of this little pub. I remember the days of 12 or more of us around a collection of tables but since Covid hit, I can honestly say Angela and Gary have done what is expected of them to be responsible publicans in these weird times. Please don't let the size put you off coming. Book ahead, bring your mask and all will be well. Please support this local gem. It's better as a pub to provide company to folks (at the necessary distances) than as a furniture shop or post office. Give it a go. You will be safe and should have an enjoyable escape from these strange times for a couple of hours. All the best Angela, Gary, Pete and Tom (and Brewster) xx

There's a reason why Hail to the Ale has won CAMRA's Wolverhampton Pub of the Year for five years in a row. Cask ale in perfect condition and a top atmosphere that some other pubs fail to get close to. The Hail is a micropub - a very small, one room pub. It was the first micropub to open in the West Midlands, back in 2013 and has done very well since, scooping up awards left right and centre. It would be a lie to say there is something for everyone here - if you like lager, spirits, fizzy cider, background music, TVs with sports playing or gambling machines, then the Hail is not for you. What you will find here is good real ale, real cider and perry, fruit wine, pub snacks (crisps, scratchings, cheese, pork pie, cobs) and the lost art of conversation. Oh, and traditional wooden games. The pub is also dog and family friendly. Opening hours are limited to Thurs 5pm - 10pm, Fri and Sat midday - 10pm and Sun midday - 5pm. If you're nearby and haven't visited yet, the Hail is well worth a visit.

I had never been to this micropub before, but as it is open from 12 noon to 17-00 on Sunday I decided to find and try it. Parking is not plentiful but the 6 parking spots of the hairdresser next door is open for use on Sunday. On entry I was struck by how homely it was. The long room with the bar at the far end is broken into two stepped sections with a single toilet that caters for male / female / handicapped people and is very clean. There is plenty of reading matter available on beer and many other issues including political satire and reflects its widely diverse clientele. The pub is owned by Morton Breweries and staffed by the owner couple who are very friendly. They offer ciders, wines, and at my visit 3 real ales including two of their own of which the dark beer is the strongest at 6.0 while their 4.4 beer is very quaffable. They sell snacks and two types of meat pie in which the compressed filling is of excellent taste and comes with a small selection of relishes. The pub was half full ranging from two older couples enjoying their red wines and beer, 3 people with dogs, and two women with their toddlers. The ambiance if totally friendly and I will certainly be back on a Sunday and so escaping the ubiquitous and noisy Sunday Lunch crowds.

We popped in after finishing work, still in work wear, ergo, a black beer. This micropub is quite small but beautifully proportioned. It's dog friendly, as long as your dog is. They brew their own beer and have guest beers too, mostly in a traditional brown beer, bitter style. Proper beer IMHO. Food wise, don't expect any more than bar snacks...that said, their pork pies are to die for. There are also local cheeses to sample. The owners are nice people, and if you are new to the Midlands, you'll find a warm welcome.

Visited for the first time on Friday 17 July 2018 after getting recommendations from friends. We managed to get a car parking space at the front of the Hail to the Ale where there is about six spaces available. There is an outdoor set of benched tables to the right of the Hail to the Ale with lots of banners displaying the many awards that the Hail to the Ale has won from the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra). On entering the place you are faced with a comfortable carpeted area at the front with a step up to a plain floor area in front of the bar. The bar has about five real ale handpulls with further pulls for real cider. We sampled an interesting dark ale ' Leatherbritches Mad Ruby' which was sold at a very reasonable price of £3.00 a pint. The staff are very pleasant and supportive of the customers. The Hail to the Ale is very welcoming to well behaved dogs with a number present whilst we were there. The Hail to the Ale has no piped music , WiFi or television allowing people to enjoy the beer and conversation. We were very impressed with both the place and the beer , people recommendations were so correct!
