What a great night's entertainment we had last night at The Wheatsheaf! Even with a member of staff down this fabulous landlady served the drinks, arranged catering (Katsu curry - freshly made to order and soooo delicious and great value!) and hosted a really entertaining quiz in aid of local new charity Red Kite Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Service which is based in Bishop's Stortford. The outdoors area was packed to bursting; the atmosphere was great and the pace of the quiz questions just right, with a heads and shoulders game at half time. The money raised - £157.90 - will go to supporting victims of rape and sexual abuse across eastern Hertfordshire. Thank you to The Wheatsheaf for a lovely evening! We'll be back!

Pelham RoadVisited as a family of 4 on a Saturday evening. The pub is charming with great country decor, comfy seating on the bar side and there’s also a restaurant side for more smart meals. Gluten free options if you need them are excellent and not just an after thought. We had the steak as well as lamb dishes and kids meals. The kids meals are much cheaper than other local places (brewery tap is double) and yet hearty and well prepared. The steak was top drawer and easily comparable to some of the top city restaurants. Lamb was delicious. Deserts were delicious with proper ice cream which isn’t just the usual tub stuff. We’ve been for over 15 years and despite a few changes of owners, always a pleasure 👍 .

Hertford RoadHad the chicken and mushroom pie for lunch it, arrived well presented/hot and tasted great. Service was excellent. Lovely pub.
