Lovely pub, usually has a decent selection of ales and pours a good Guinness. Staff are always friendly. Great place to hire out for events/parties with sheltered outside seating. Runs a range of events through the year. My Nan also really enjoys the social Thursday afternoons.

Nice little pub has the feel of a proper English pub which are always the best types! Good selection to choose from on tap, friendly staff and the pub plays sports so great to drink and watch the television! Pool table in the back towards the toilet too!

Great beer, atmosphere, and live music. They always have different events going on, in the large, heated tent, and raise so much money for different charities. The staff are always so friendly and helpful, and the place is really clean and cosy, including an open fire and mulled wine for the colder months. Dogs are more than welcome, with dog treats, bowls of water and poo bags provided. The Greek Gyros and chips (served from a converted caravan) were amazing! Also, veggie and vegan options available. There is also a great range of non alcoholic beers and spirits, which is hard to find! Even if you're from out of town and go there alone, you're sure to be made to feel welcome and make some new friends Best pub in Shrewsbury by far!

Went for a wake, and have been to the pub on many occasions, for many different events. Excellent venue with outside bar and seating area, excellent staff, great buffet, brilliant send off.

Absolutely fantastic night all staff were friendly and even though there was a live band and it was packed everywhere was still clean and hygienic

Went to the Wheatsheat this afternoon. Alan Williams was the entertainment. What a fantastic afternoon. Made to feel so welcome by the staff and customers. Excellent music by a very talented guitarist and singer. A little dancing and lots of friendly banter. Food was served which was most enjoyable. Also excellent raffle prizes.

Great Town Centre traditional Pub on Shrewsbury High Street . Has an outdoor seating area, with table service. Well kept ales, and a good range of drinks. Also has very friendly service, and is definitely worth a visit.

Top friendly kindly generous community pub, we always have a laugh and a half here with Ellen and Mandy and Yvonne and the regulars. Massive airy marquee to sit in and good Covid-19 policy. A tonic to the soul, this place. Love it love it love it.

The atmosphere in this pub is brilliant. The cider was spot on. The locals were a good bunch. The staff couldn't do enough for you. This pub is a gem. Cannot wait for my next visit to Shrewsbury to hang out here again.

Not awful. Went in for a quick drink whilst waiting for a bus at 5pm on a weekday. Reasonably busy, but really did not feel friendly - a bit like pubs used to be 30 years ago where you felt you were interrupting the meetings of a local clique. They had a couple of good cask beers, but the Three Tuns pale ale was served far too cold - again like some pub from the 80s. However, it was cheap - £2.50 a pint, about 50p a pint less than a Three Tuns tied house.

Clearly shown on a signboard outside is the phrase “good food” go inside order a drink and ask for the menu, to be told “ we no longer do food”. Here’s a suggestion, take down/ cover up the sign!!!

Beer festival with live music was wonderful

It has a music afternoon every Thursday with talented local musicians. Usually excellent.

An awesome 'local' pub, perfect for a super chilled night out when you don't fancy getting all dressed up. They have a pool table and darts and quite often on bank holidays they host beer festivals which attract hundreds of people so best to book in advance on those occasions. Always a good night out!

Stopped by while on holiday and had some drinks and watched some football. Bartender was very helpful in recommending things in the area.

Great afternoon at the Wheatshief,SPOILT for the vast majority as a carer asked Tony to stop singing SO THAT SHE COULD GET HER CHARGE OUT OF THE PUB ! WHY should the rest of the customers suffer ? I for one will have to think hard and fast about going to this great pub again on a Thursday afternoon if that's going to happen again ! Why should a few spoil it for the many ?
