Great boozer , top landlady ...

Welcoming atmosphere, nice licensee, reasonable prices. I have a small group that meets there twice a month and we are always made welcome. Pity there is not a bigger clientele; we cannot afford to lose such places

Welcoming traditional style pub which we always visit when in Shrewsbury for the match. Couple of well kept ales to choose from, pool, darts and TV. Relaxed atmosphere amongst the locals.

Had a lovely meal here today (21/07/24). Was super easy to come up to the bar order food and drinks. Service was super fast and polite had a little joke and a laugh. The food came out quickly and tasted amazing. The homemade Yorkshire puddings were a great touch and tasted even better. An all round great trip in

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here this afternoon (21/07/2024). The pub itself is a lovely hidden gem of Shrewsbury and has a really friendly atmosphere plus a stunning beer garden. The staff are always welcoming and will help you with anything you need. The food itself was excellent and very very tasty, I opted for the chicken dinner; it was a generous size with delicious stuffing on the side and incredibly fair price of £12. Thankyou to the team at The Grove for this yummy meal!

Great atmosphere, landlady is lovely and always there. Food has been really really good. And has followed through with plans to make changes to the pub

Had a veggie burger and others had a lasagne and ploughman’s, all were lovely and good portions!

Had a lovely home cooked meal of chicken lasagna, very nice and great price only £7.50. All our group were very happy. Welcoming pub

Was walking home from town x it was very hot x called in for glass of lemonade x landlord very nice known him for along time x lovely frendly pub.

Bartender with black hair and beard was horrible. got angry for us wanting to play pool and was very clearly drunk on shift. would not recommend, even the beer was off. shame...

Argyle on tour!! The Brooklands pub was packed solid so we legged it to this pub......not too far away. Nice real ales....found a Bombardier for the first time for years at £2.65 !! Nice staff and a friendly pub and we sat outside in the early evening sun.....Good pub. And ....we won against Shrewsbury!

The landlord was amazing, so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for him. Can’t recommend enough! Definitely worth a visit! Thank you Gordie for the amazing service and atmosphere! I’ll be back soon!

Only recently exchanged hands but found the landlord very friendly and a nice atmosphere.

Had sunday dinner delivery good intentions but total let down food was cold and gravy had spilt everywhere wont be ordering again

Very friendly staff, very reasonable beer prices. If that wasn't enough, the beer garden is spacious and the building as a whole is very social-distancing friendly. Definitely recommend a visit!

Nice little place, Decent drink and staff are sound, good atmosphere the locals are always good for a laugh, pool table in there, beer garden is nice in the summer. They also occasionally have themed nights and events which are always a good laugh. Also there's a chippy right next door!
