A lovely lunch with friends to celebrate the New Year. The food was really excellent (we had the seabass and game pie special), and good value. The ice cream was the best I’ve tasted for a while. Very fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The welcome was very warm from the restaurant manager and cheerful and efficient from the waiting staff. A lovely atmosphere in the dining room and tables well spaced. Will return.

My son and I had a very lovely lunch there after an outing at Sandown on Christmas Eve. The staff were very attentive and accommodating, as we didn't have a reservation, and it was a very busy day for them. The food was excellent. We will certainly be going back!

We booked our Office Christmas party and had a room with a wonderful table all to ourselves We had a delicious three course meal. We had the pleasure of being looked after by Misha and Hannah at the bar They couldn’t do enough for us. They were so attentive kind and friendly. It really made the difference to our visit. The food was absolutely wonderful. We couldn’t fault it and the service was exceptional. Thank you very much everyone. We will be booking again for next year.😃

Had a fantastic experience at The Wheatsheaf yesterday. We had our Christmas work party there which started with a 3 course meal - starter, main and dessert. Food was delicious and generous portions. We also enjoyed the quality and selection of their drinks. After food, 20 carol singers arrived from a local church which was a lovely special touch. The staff were all very hospitable - special thank you to assistant manager Hannah who took care of us throughout and ensured an amazing Christmas work do!

We had our Christmas party at Wheat Sheaf, and it was wonderful. The food and atmosphere were excellent, and the staff—especially Hannah—were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure we had an amazing time.

Visited on an extremely busy lunchtime. Very limited car parking. Food was beautifully presented and very nice when it finally arrived although I didn't find any peanuts in the warm peanut salad just satay sauce. Calves liver for my friend slipped down a treat.

We were looked after by a woman called Hannah. She was great, helpful and welcoming. The food came quickly and was delicious. I will definitely go again.

Boys Christmas lunch on Wednesday in the separate room, was overseen by Misha who did a fantastic job keeping us in check. The food was lovely and all dishes were served promptly. A great afternoon thanks to all the team at Wheatsheaf, see you again soon. Billy xx

Organised a Christmas lunch for our Pickleball group, which ended up being 25 of us. The communication beforehand with Mischa had been amazing and on the day Mischa and the team were very attentive and nothing was a problem for them to sort out. The food, drinks, service and company were fantastic! Will be back there again soon. Thank you to everyone and happy Christmas!!

Visited many times with family, always great food and friendly, accommodating staff. Great awareness about gluten free / coeliac friendly dishes too.

Always a fantastic atmosphere in this superbly well managed bar and restaurant. Comfortable and relaxing, the service from Pascal and his two excellent Colleagues, and the food is always first class from a small but very happy band of highly competent Staff.

Went for a roast, lovely local pub and the roast is fab. Was particularly busy and the wait was long, but the waiter did say it would be 40 mins Nd with good wine and good company it’s all good. Food is still fab and worth the wait and Pascal was amazing.

Lovely evening out with local friends and good food, service, etc. However, the significant downside, and reason for 3 stars, was the lack of any external lighting, which had apparently not been working for some time, when I reported it. When I left it was pitch black, slippery in the cold weather, and my friend actually fell on the unseen speed bump. When reported, the response was off-hand and I felt not taken seriously. Disappointing end to a lovely evening.

Lovely setting, warm and welcoming pub. Ample car parking ( although it was quite full on the evening we attended). This was a pre-booked Xmas staff. Service was quick and attentive. Food was OK… perhaps what you would expect from a pub at that time of the year. I am keen to visit again and try their standard pub menu.

Ah, new chef apparently and couldn't figure timings because our food took 45 mins to arrive on a quiet weekday. Three meals badly over cooked/left to dry out and one OK (perhaps the one that was being waited for). Water forgotten for table, staff attentive, then not, waited to give a coffee order and gave up when no-one came over to take it. Said they were having a bad day, and did remove the cost of a main. Such a shame, we had friends for lunch who we don't see very often, and thought it would be a lovely midday treat. Hope chef improves!

Service was awful and the food was poor. Very disappointed as it looked like a really nice place and the beer was excellent. I think there were problems in the kitchen.

Food was burnt black. We weren’t asked how the meal was before our plates were taken away (with burnt food left on it). Clean toilets. Lovely vibe in the restaurant.

A great place for Sunday lunch, food anytime and/or for a couple of pints with the family/friends. We went for Sunday lunch and it was very good. Delicious roasts, starters and pudding ! And the Managers & Staff are delightful, always cheery, helpful and welcoming. Thank you Z, Micha & Hannah and all the waitering and kitchen staff.

Arrived in cold weather starving, we were welcomed by Pascal and attended to at a cosy table. Starter and main course were served timely, nice and warm. An enjoyable occasion with a touch of ‘je ne sais quoi’

We had a super time on Saturday at the Wheatsheaf, following our afternoon of pumpkin picking! We were a large group (30 in total!) and were made to feel so welcome. Zee and her colleagues were fabulous, I cannot fault them, especially as we had several children trying to cause chaos 🤦🏼‍♀️. Even when I messed up our order (so sorry again!) staff were polite, friendly and understanding. The food was delicious and drinks options great. Would definitely recommend!

As regulars we noticed that both the menu options and the dishes portions have shrunk!

Thursday night at the pub - the shepherd’s pie special was awesome as was the red cabbage. Great choice of wines and cosy friendly atmosphere. It was super busy and staff friendly and efficient. Will visit again. Thank you

Best place in Esher. The food is very nice. But Friday lunch was too busy and loud for us

The food was lovely, although they had run out of roast beef and the side vegetables with the roast where very small, and no celeriac mash. The restaurant is loud, so I found it difficult to hear my husband, and service was very slow. Our meals came out and then the veg followed 10 mins later. I asked for the bill at the end of our meal and then about 10 mins later the same waitress brought us dessert menus. I asked for the bill again which came fairly promptly and then left waiting to pay , so i just went to the front desk. I do not think I would visit again.

Great good on a lovely pub. They did a great job accommodating 29 mix of adults and children. Great kids menu.

I came here for a family dinner last week and I really can’t fault this place. We didn’t have a booking but we were show a lovely table in the restaurant. The waitress recommended the specials and I had the treacle glazed pork steak and it was 10/10. My partner had the fish and chips and she said it was very tasty. The service was fantastic, all the staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend and looking forward to going back.

Using the private room at the wheatsheaf a party of 18 enjoyed an 80th birthday . Pleased to recommend as we’re delighted with great menu, good food and really high level of service. Thank you
