The Wheatsheaf in Elmbridge

I had a very good delicious lunch at Wheatsheaf Esher, and a good fellowship with my old friend. I had the Pork Schnitzel. It was delicious although the pork was a little tough and less juicy. My friend ordered the delicious Calves Liver. The Sticky Toffee pudding is a must to have - it will boost you up with much flavour !!! Coffee and beer are good too. The service was first class personal touch. A very beautiful restaurant with cosy atmosphere!

Vegetarian Sunday roast was nice but small for the price and no yorkshire puddings. Gravy jug was also small. Staff are friendly but service was slow, more staff needed on a Sunday.

The food was disappointing the prawn cocktail was in a base of mushy avocado and tomato not pleasant crisp lettuce would have been preferable, the burger was overcooked and felt was precooked the heated up we find the food better at lunchtime

Excellent service, great food, very friendly

Had a lovely meal with friends after a busy day at Sandown Park. Although we were early for our reservation, we were greeted with a big smile and shown to a table. Couldn't fault the service, food or the price. Definitely be booking again next time we are in the area.

Both the quality of the food and the standard of service was nothing short of 'excellent' - Pascal has to take all the credit for making our experience at the Wheatsheaf a most memorable visit. We will be back very soon!

I visited the Wheatsheaf for the 1st time to day with my sister & 3 of my cousins. Food was very good. Glad to see everything was on the level as I have real problems getting around. Glad to see the didabled toilet is on the ground floor & access was very easy. Hope to visit you again.

This is our 4th or 5th visit. We usually come here, as yesterday, to celebrate various family birthdays. We're a fussy lot and have been to many venues in and around Surrey over the last few years but we keep returning here as it comes up trumps each time. Price wise it's comparable to most of it's kind in the area but we've had very mixed experiences in other venues in terms of quality of food, menu content and service. We always have great service, -I didn't get the name of our server yesterday (could have been Kerry) but she was really attentive and cheerful, with a great sense of humour and all our requests (plates and cutlery for our BYO cake, doggy bags, remainder of cake to be divided up and packaged) were met with good grace. We'll be back !

Really well presented pub. The roast was pleasant. The service however was very disappointing. We waited 30 minutes for someone to either ask us about desserts or bring us the bill. I then went up to the till to pay as we had to leave to catch a train and was rudely told by a member of staff that he was busy and to sit back down. Maybe a member of staff was off sick that day or maybe they just didn't hire enough staff but it was a disappointing end to the meal and probably will also affect their bottom line as we would have added an extra £20 to the bill and gone again.

Decent food, wait time was abit long though

Went to this place this afternoon ,ordered 2 leg of lamb at £24 each ,when we got served it had few slices of lamb on each plate ,of which one was full of fat .After paying the bill ,I asked the manager why on the menu it says leg of lamb but we only got few carved slices instead ,for which he said they had on sat but not today being Sunday.How I see it ,they carved slices from one leg of lamb and served as two servings and were charged as two leg of lamb.Although we saw next table a lady had leg of lamb on her plate.Very disappointed ,does not make sense if the menu says leg of lamb and they serve few slices instead.

Pascal squeezed us in for Sunday lunch at very late notice - merci bien, Pascal - lovely lamb!

Very cosy pub with delicious food! The service was also very nice. We loved the slow cooked lamb shank and the sticky toffee pudding! We’ll be back for sure! I would also definitely recommend to make a booking.

Lovely little pub in Esher. There's a cosy pub area as well as more formal dining area, both of which are enjoyable to dine in. The food tastes great and they cater for coeliacs which is wonderful (a separate chip fryer that is gluten free!). Sometimes the service has been a little 'grumpy' from some staff but generally a great place to eat and would recommend.

Quiet but it was a Monday and we were very well looked after by Lauren and team. Where is Joe the barman?

Pascal was an excellent host especially considering it was so busy.

We were visiting Hampton Court Palace and came across The Wheatsheaf by accident but what an absolute pleasure. The place is lovely, the food was amazing & delicious, the service was brilliant and the manager, Pascal, was friendly & attentive. Great food and service at this busy pub. Menu is great, if a little fish heavy for starters. Sunday roast was excellent, hot with plenty of vegetables too. Homemade pudding selection was also great and friendly service.

Lovely 'light lunch' which was fishcake served with poached egg, hollandaise sauce and samphire. It was absolutely delicious! Only let down was that I had to ask for the light lunch menu as it had not been handed to us. Had I not seen this alternative menu in the website I would not have known it was available as a choice.

A lovely lunch with friends to celebrate the New Year. The food was really excellent (we had the seabass and game pie special), and good value. The ice cream was the best I’ve tasted for a while. Very fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The welcome was very warm from the restaurant manager and cheerful and efficient from the waiting staff. A lovely atmosphere in the dining room and tables well spaced. Will return.
