Lovely food and staff. Not people eating in so atmosphere a bit lacking

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience, so much food! Lovely staff and great atmosphere ❤️ highly recommend the chicken katsu curry, the emperor ribs and chicken dumplings!!

Great for a local Chinese, in my opinion it’s better to eat in rather than have take out but definitely satisfys the cravings! Staff and service was great, just thought it was a lot pricier than I’d expect to spend on a Chinese

The Singapore fried rice was nothing like we've ordered before. It did not taste like it should and may have been a wrong item delivered, as it was very bland and did not have the same ingredients

Saw a number of recommendations for this place, and it didn't disappoint. More expensive than others but worth it.

i wouldn’t recommend. while the food wasn’t bad, the waiter, upon being told that i was a vegetarian and would want a separate plate to the rest of my party, went on a ten minute tangent about how i don’t ‘fit the profile’ of a vegetarian. this is because ‘vegetarians are usually slim, and you are not’. he then went on to reiterate this a few more times in different ways, laughing despite the rest of our table was silent. as somebody who has suffered with multiple mental illnesses, including bulimia and body dysmorphia, this really made the rest of the meal very difficult to enjoy. i know i cannot expect the waiter to know my medical history, but that is the exact reason you do not say things like this. my father in law’s birthday meal, which he paid a lot of money for, was then clouded with an air of awkwardness that continued throughout the entirety of the meal. EDIT- my mother in law requested an urgent call from the owner of the restaurant regarding the situation. he was very apologetic, offered multiple avenues of reparation and assured us the issue would be dealt with internally. he also offered us a free meal, which we declined as we didn’t feel it was necessary - so we settled on them sending a sum of money to a charity of our choice. so, while it’s a shame that it happened, it was dealt with in a mature, understanding way and i don’t think it’ll stop us from returning in the future.

Spare ribs and chicken were not good. Had to throw the ribs away. Usually the quality is good but not this time. disappointed

It was nice but reading the reviews I had high expectation. The mixed starter was really nice but the mains less so. Nice. Not amazing.

Reliably the best Chinese in the area. Always tastes amazing, and delivery is always so courteous and kind- whatever the weather. Clear family favourite and it’s been that way for many years.

We ordered takeaways for Valentine's night, it was a large order & we asked it to be delivered at 6:30. The delivery was on time & the driver was very pleasant. The food was delicious, we had a varied selection & every dish was very tasty. We highly recommend The Emperor, thank you for giving us a lovely evening.

Chicken was very fatty not like other places we have ordered from in the past

Food was delivered late, but duck was not “off the bone” as requested, Singapore noodles were charred, chilli beef was cold. Taste and quality duck was good.

Food was really good! When we got there to pick up an order we were sat down as it wasnt ready yet and even given some prawn crackers and sauce while we waited. The staff was very friendly and kind paying a lot of attention to customers and the atmosphere was amazing with all the new years decorations. Definitely coming back here again.

It was an absolute delight dining in this restaurant. I went with a friend and the service was amazing the staff were super helpful and funny. The food was also gorgeous one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been too!

Food was very tasty and hot on arrival. Wish they had more options on the menu for starters and duck dishes. But overall good.

Having ordered before we expected a bit more but this time the food unfortunately was bland. The ribs were dry, the pancake rolls were all pastry not much filling. The sweet and sour chicken balls and sauce were bland and not really tasted of anything though well cooked. The chicken curry was not flavoursome and not really a curry imo. The beef chow mien and prawn crackers were the best dishes. Sadly we probably will order from somewhere else next time

Ordered takeaway . With all respect , the quality of the food is not what you would look forward to and expect . This is my opinion. The food seemed as if frozen and heated Up. We all left the food and didn’t finish it .

I normally eat in but tonight I stopped for takeaway as a treat. I've never had takeaway from here before and I won't be again, I wish I'd gone to my normal takeaway. How eat in and takeaway could be so different is beyond me.

Every previous order we’ve had from The Emperor has been great, but this time the chicken in the fried noodles was dry and tasted old, the crispy beef was chewy and bland, and the seaweed wasn’t at all crispy. Very disappointed.

Best chinese I've had in a long time. Will definitely become a regular for me!

I don't live in the area so this was a random pick based on reviews and the menu. My main chicken dish was really delicious with an actual variation of veg and not just padded out with peppers. The spring rolls were rather thin and lacking in filling, but still tasted nice. Would recommend.

Favourite Chinese restaurant in the area. Evening set price meal, you can choose from all the classic dishes which are cooked to order. Food is fresh, tasty and there's plenty of it. Staff are friendly and efficient. Would get 5 stars but the restaurant itself is a little tired and gets cold.

Had a super birthday dinner for Jessica. It is not a cheap night out though! It cost c.£250 for 6 of us. Includes alcohol though. Great service though. Food was really good too.

Service was not great here and the staff are not very pleasant but the food is good although the portion sizes aren't very generous.

This place was honestly horrible. It didn’t taste like Chinese at all. The special fried rice was white with no soy sauce and the sweet and sour chicken didn’t taste like anything at all. It was so overpriced on just eat. Honestly don’t recommend this at all I’m so upset!
