Very friendly atmosphere, lovely outside area. Great food, nice wine, Perfect place to meet with family and friends.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner here with my wife. I had the Fish Pie it was delicious and filling. Had a couple of decent pints of Landlord aswel.

Great pub/restaurant with Al Fresco dining and excellent food. It has imaginative planting outside with a wide variety of plants and shrubs. Very friendly staff and nice selection of food. It has its own car park. It’s a great Pub Restaurant with real character.

Great old school pub with modern service and food. I had burger and chips and my only slight gripe was that there really weren't many chips.

Just popped in and brought a pint. Steep end of pricing at almost £7! And unfortunately the glass was so dirty that I could scratch it off with my finger on the inside of the glass. Not the cleanest.

Lovely beer garden, I loved the chicken and bacon salad. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it!

Had a little issue whereby my bitter top had no sweetness at all, raised with waitress who corrected and was a little better, next pint same issue. Something definitely was wrong and almost tasted like it had soda rather than lemonade. Anyway lovely staff took off the bill. My partner enjoyed her Aperol Spritz and then a refreshing Pimms So small gripe over, food was reasonably priced, came out quite quickly and was tasty and fresh. Couldn't complain with my burger and skinny fries, my partner loved her sweet potato fries in particular that accompanied her vegetarian burger. Desserts nice and tasty and a decent portion, Eton Mess and a Sticky Toffee pudding with Vanilla Ice cream. Will definitely be back.

A lovely 3 course meal for £48 each, including wine and a tip. I had the artisan fish pie served with a medley of green vegetables, which was delicious. The house rosé was a very nice dry blush which complimented the fish pie perfectly. Would highly recommend The Running Mare at Cobham. Plenty of parking.

Nice pub food, more seafood dishes than other pubs. Had the scallop starter and fish pie. Both were great, would prefer the scallops without the roes but that’s my personal preference

Wonderful place to hold a meeting with very caring staff and a great atmosphere. Can't fold it. Quiet spot with a homely feeing.

Gorgeous pub, nice service. I had the surf and turf and have to say both steak and lobster were delicious. Cooked to perfection. The chips were lovely too. Others had sausages and mash, smoked salmon sandwich and the ribs. There were empty plates and reduced chatter as we all enjoyed our food. It’s a ye olde world pub which has bundles of character. There’s parking there too which is handy.

What a lively little place. Great beer garden out the back, but the front and inside looks like your typical "ye olde" cottage boozer, exposed timber and different ales etc. And a big I must say was... The bar staff were absolutely amazing, such a busy night, the lads worked like tojans, and are a real credit to the owner (can't remember if one was called Matt) all did not stop for a breather and kept the place flowing. Hats off to them. Didn't have food just beverages! But gave food a 5* as not to drop the establishments rating. And if the food is like the atmosphere and staff then it should be good! 👍

Both the food and service at this location maintain high standards in a very pleasant atmosphere.

Had the most delicious roast chicken, partner had a trio of meat roast. They were both very tasty, lovely roast potatoes and the added bonus of cauliflower cheese at no extra cost. The best roast dinner around and the gravy was very tasty. Lovely choice of desserts which were equally delicious. Well done and will definately be back!!!

First time I've been to the Running Mare, found it looked good from the outside and inside. Parking was easy and had a relaxing atmosphere with good food and the staff were helpful and pleasant.

The food here is always good no matter what you have but the lobster is the best in the world - most restaurants over cook it and it’s tough but at the Running Mare always perfect. Sue

A classic pub with many historic racers photos around. Interesting yet cozy setting. Indoor, outdoor, terrace seating. Food took awhile to come. Standard English pub menu. It’s like a neighbourhood pub that knows who’s who.

This is an absolutely first rate pub with excellent food, friendly service and a fine atmosphere. It can get rather busy, so plan accordingly. There's parking in the back. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and you can easily find the sort of space that suits you and your party. There are plenty of fine choices on the menu, and the food is delicious.

A buffet lunch provided for a family gathering, using a reserved section outside. All staff very courteous and helpful, and the lunch provided on time, as arranged. Very good friendly atmosphere.

A lovely traditional pub with classic pub food and drink offerings. We came for a Father's Day Sunday roast - understandably a very busy time but the waitresses were very honest about food delays and attentive with drinks whilst we waited. A decent, generously sized roast dinner with a great mix of veg - but the roast potatoes were a bit disappointing!

We went for drinks and a meal stayed for drinks only. Barmaid was abrupt and rude so we left.

Really nice food, excellent service and wonderful staff. We was very well catered for and looked after, but we sat outside and it was cold, very, very cold. The heaters “kind of” worked, but tripped the power regularly leaving everyone in the dark and cold. A few extra gas heaters would not go amiss here, but the food and atmosphere made up for the downside.

This was my favorite pub. We spent a great deal of time and money there. Good friends made, both staff and locals. Unfortunately, the manager, has no class and a bad attitude. The Runner is on suspension, for me, for 60 days. If it ever happens again, I won’t spend another £ there. Reply - I am not about to Dox anybody. We love the food, atmosphere and friendships. The absolute majority of your staff is excellent. A little bit of tact goes a long way though, as opposed to a “Shoosh”. You should indeed have a conversation with managers about how they deal with people, especially some that drop 500 quid a month. Thanks, Ollie, Very Best. Update - The Running Mare has definitely upped their game. Give credit where credit is due. This is a wonderful place where You will find kind and interesting people. Best food in Cobham and fabulous service. Always my first choice locally. The most amazing Sunday roasts too.

Met a visitor from States for a catch up lunch. Friendly, professional and unobtrusive staf kept eye on meal progress and no pressure to hurry. Good food and good value - would recommend it highly.

10/10 absolutely the best Sunday Roast I've ever eaten. A pretty little pub opposite the village green. The staff were so lovely as well, very accommodating as we hadn't booked but squeezed us in. Will definitely go again if we're ever in the area.

Gutted to have to share such a bad review when I was so looking forward to going for a Sunday Roast with my family at this renowned pub. The woman serving us, who I believe to be one of the managers, had a terrible attitude towards us. Firstly, I approached her to let her know we had arrived and asked where we'd be sitting, to which she responded with a disdainful look and a pointed finger in the direction of the corner of the pub by the window. She was incredibly cold and quite frankly rude for the entirety of us being seated at our table—we were honestly shocked. Side note, no vegetarian roast?! Very disappointing overall. We won't be returning and have let others know to avoid.

After not having visited in a long while I looked forward to Sunday lunch with my daughters and an old friend. However the service we received from the female staff member dealing with us was appalling. Very unfriendly with a terrible attitude. If I could give zero stars I would. We were shocked to be told she was actually the manager. Having read other reviews it would appear we are not the only ones to have suffered such terrible customer service from this lady. We will not be returning nor would we recommend this place. It used to be brilliant the last time our family regularly went for Sunday lunch. Shame

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch here a few Sundays ago. We were a large party of 9, and I wanted to book somewhere that I remember from my youth. The selection was everything you'd expect for lunch, and more. Most of our party elected for either of the 4 roast options, but a few went for other items. The fish pie was excellent with considerably more than the usual offering of a prawn and a token piece of white fish, and very filling. The general consensus of the other lunches were very positive, with a vast selection of vegetables which included red cabbage, which always pleases one member of our group. The impressive Yorkshire Puddings were the king of the plates, which cast a shodow over everything else, they were so huge, which caused a little consternation to those who opted for fish pie..!!!! If there was any criticism, which would be quite unfair, the service was a tad slow, but considering we were a large group, and the venue was incredible busy, I can accept that for what it was. In conclusion, the food was hot, well presented and deserves and other visit...9/10.

Excellent Sunday lunches, both lamb and beef we will return for. The ginger sticky toffee pudding was a treat too.

Delightful place with some great staff. Others were best described as useless & highly rude. Food was tbh appalling. God knows how the bacon ended up being sent out so over cooked (on 2 dishes). Chips over cooked and cold, scallops also cold. Mussels not bearded properly and many not open. The time it took to send starters and mains was totally shocking (1.5hrs on a quiet evening). DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR FOOD although good reports are heard especially of the roast. Won't be returning to try after our dinner I am afraid.

What a great atmosphere this pub has, seems very popular with the locals. We very happy with the food and beer. Had a Sunday mixed roast which was perfect, crispy and tasty and topped with a large Yorkshire pudding. Definitely going to go back again

Very nice pub, we ate Scallops and chorizo as starter and the fish pie as main. We waited a bit, the pub was crowded on Saturday at lunch. The scallops were really good, the fish pie was good but nothing exceptional, I suggest to add more veggies in the plate maybe. Good choice of dessert but we didn’t order them.
