The Wheatsheaf in Wandsworth

couldn’t find a table inside due to most tables being reserved, even though no one was sat on them as it was for people who would order Sunday roast. We sat outside in the beer garden and felt like we were sat in bins, not a nice place to sit at all so disappointed we couldn’t sit on a table indoors. The photos on the website of the beer garden, does not reflect how it looks at all. Ordered a pizza and felt like they’d forgot to put any toppings on, way too over priced. Same with the Focaccia bread, £5.50 for a slice of toast. Servers were nice and polite though so can’t fault them.

Tom (our waiter), was great! The food was good and the atmosphere is always friendly and lively.

Super pub! When I'm in the area I'll always find time to pop by for a drink or good food.

Nice food but the dining room is next to the kitchen and when we got home our clothes smelled like burgers.

We had fantastic service from Flynn who was so friendly and welcoming. We love how much he loves dogs! The pub has a great atmosphere, brilliant drinks choices and is so decently priced. This was our first time eating at The Wheatsheaf having been many times for drinks but we were so impressed by the trio roast that we will definitely be back again for food.

Flynn was our director of ceremonies for our roast today and what a good job he did. We had a mix of roasts and other meals. Flynn took very good care of us, kept an eye on us and dealt with our requests like a champ. Thank you for a great service

Today we had a spectacular Sunday lunch: all perfectly cooked, extras and special requests accommodated without fuss. Cheesecake is a must. Spectacular service from Richard, who was so kind.

Great pub quiz & the pepperoni pizza is one of the nicest I’ve had in a long time (better than most of the famous London pizza spots)

Tyler was a wonderful host, attentive and friendly. The starters were really good, really well prepared and very tasty. The mains (steak and risotto) were disappointing, they were plain, not seasoned enough, not nearly as well prepared as the starters. Overall I’d come back and I would recommend, I’d have cocktails and the starters though. Great service from Tyler and atmosphere was spot on.

Lives up to 'the best roast in tooting' - between us we tried each of the options and they were all delicious (with big Yorkshire puddings). Good selection of non alcoholic drinks. Lovely overall atmosphere and Flynn was very friendly and attentive with his service - and went out of his way to entertain the two year old at our table.

Great as always. Matthew serving us did a great job meandering around the multiple labradoodles and sausage dogs in the pub area. Only complaint is that the meat to veg ratio on the roast was a bit thin. Could do with a heater near the door.

My husband and I have lived in Tooting for about 6 years and this is one of our favourite local pubs. Lovely interior, great food and atmosphere, good selection of beers on tap and wine, and staff are always friendly. More recently, our antenatal classes were also hosted at the pub which was very convenient. The food is slightly more expensive than other pubs but worth it - highly rate the Sunday roast & cauliflower cheese, and the fish & chips.

Love this pub! Quality food and lovely staff. A special mention to Tyler who looked after us. From such a personal lovely welcome all the way through to the end he was a real class act. It's rare that someone is so genuinely personal and professional...he really made the meal and the occasion even more lovely. A real credit to the Wheatsheaf.

The Wheatsheaf is our local which we love and frequent regularly, so when we had family to stay just before Christmas I thought nothing of booking a table for us all. I perhaps should have enquired in advance about gluten free options for my sister, but everywhere offers them these days so I assumed it would be fine, especially given the amount of pizzas and burgers on the menu - surely it wouldn't be hard to offer a gluten free bun or base option. However there was nothing for her. The staff are also not well trained on allergens and when asking what my sister could have which was gluten free, the server replied "does it say the plant burger is vegan?" to which I had to point out the difference between the two. He then had to go off and ask what she could have, and it turned out only the steak and chips were gluten free but they had run out of steak. I still love this pub but they really need to do better on this.

It's a nice building and used to be a nice pub. Turned into a nursery now- the amount of screaming kids is shocking. Avoid if you want a quiet meal.

We had an amazing lunch! Alistair looked after us and he was so attentive to details and such a warm touch. The food was delicious, we share the lamb for 3 and it was the best one we had in London! We are neighbours so we will definitely be back!

Came with a large group, several of whom weren’t very proficient in English. Our server, Ali was a rock star! Not just with our table, but nearby tables as well. Not phased by special requests, lost jewelry, photo requests, all while providing smooth, efficient service. Sunday roast was exceptional. Generous portions, everyone at our table was thrilled by their meal; so much so, that for dinner later, we just ended up with a salad. Hands down the best Sunday roast in Tooting, and probably further afield.

Ali's service was spot on, attentive but not overbearing. The pork roast with extra stuffing and pigs and blankets was great! Perfect gravy and lovely choice of red wines. Such an enjoyable Sunday.
