I had booked the wrong wheatsheaf I( relised as I arrived) they couldn't of been any better and more helpfull to fit us in. The service by the gentleman behind the bar was great. The food was incredible the chef even took time out to come and ask us about the sauce and how we would like it even after we finished he came out to make sure we were happy with our meals. Honestly can not recommend this place enough! We had the burgers and the prok chops with the chips with a twist and it was bloody lovely!!! Will be visiting again but will make sure I book the right place this time 🤣😊

The best steak ever ! Lovely staff with a warm welcome. Steffan cooks with his heart and you can tell. Cooked to perfection can’t wait come back.

We have been here for food a few times before and it never fails to impress. The steak was perfect as was the burgers and service. A cosy pub/restaurant with spectacular views and ample parking.

Came to the Wheatsheaf for my Auntie’s wake and was very impressed. The owner and his staff were very accommodating and friendly. Provided a large hot and cold buffet, and continued to top it up to ensure plentiful of food. Even asked people to take home any extras which was a nice touch. Plan to come for a meal very soon too. Not the first time of eating at the wheatsheaf but hadn't been in for a while. Quiet on arrival at 12 and able to get a table easily although it became quite busy as lunchtime went on... Steffan the landlord came over for a chat and I was able to ask his recommendation and went with the pork chop while my friend had the burger.. It was amazing, far bigger than you would get anywhere else and cooked beautifully. I don't normally have a pudding but they Looked too good to say no. It was fantastic.. Opposite us the table had a tomohawk steak, not cheap but again wow!! For steak lovers this really is the place to go. All meat is locally sourced from the local farm shop and is top quality. Probably worth booking ahead for a group but no one was turned away and all met with a friendly smile. Can highly recommend.

We stayed at a nearby Airbnb and visited recently and were made to feel very welcome. The staff are friendly and our sirloin steaks were cooked to perfection. This place is well worth a visit - it's a gem! Next time we stay in the area, we'll be back. Thank you :)

Really wonderful steak with chips and pork chop a subtle garlic mash here again. Cooked to perfection with al dente tomatoes, onions, mangetout, peppers and broccoli. Steffan the owner was cooking again and he is also a wonderful host, who even though it was quite busy, took time out to check that everyone in the restaurant was enjoying the evening and his food. He truly is a lovely guy whose sole aim is to please. If you want great food look no further.

Called in just before closing on a Sunday afternoon for a quick drink, and were made really welcome by the boss. Bar appeared to be full of regulars - always a good sign. Camping just up the road, so booked for a meal later in the week. Delicious steaks, perfect chips, amazing flavours, all with genuinely friendly service. So good we went back the next night. Chose slightly smaller mains this time, both slightly adjusted to our wishes - nothing too much trouble - so that we had room for puddings. Again, everything was absolutely delicious, and as he thought he might have overdone my taco shells, Steffan sent out slightly softer extras, unasked. Both puddings were wonderful, a cheesecake, and heavenly deep fried cinnamon bagels. Will definitely be back if we're ever in the area again - from what we saw, this landlord works hard at running a great pub, with great, fresh food, and a really friendly team. We'd be regulars if we weren't 60 miles away.

Now the only place I will have steak - amazing. Family also enjoy a mix of salmon steak or chicken burgers. America meets England flavours. Service excellent and lovely atmosphere.

This place was taken over during covid and the guy running it really needs to be given a chance. From what I have seen he works really hard, has a great way with people and his only agenda is to make you happy. The food is great try the deep fried bagles with a sour cream sauce or the pork chop if he has it on. New businesses need our support as far to many chains turning out the same stereotypical stuff. Really work a visit.

Random find while we were in the area - we got the feeling that when this pub is more busy it hums with atmosphere so we must return on a Friday night. Really friendly staff, stopped to make time for us and chat in the sunshine. My burger was amazing and the chips were prefect - my husband enjoyed his fish cakes. No colourless Sunday roast here! Superb service from Stefan and his staff in a lovely setting. We shared the mushrooms in white wine to start which were probably the best I had ever had. Both our mains, Vegetable Lasagne and Chicken Burger were tasty, accompanied by rustic fries. The fudge chocolate brownie to finish was heavenly. Having seen the size of the steaks on the adjacent table, I will definitely be trying one of those next time!

The Mods and Rockers night was really fantastic, great music and lovely friendly owners, also great staff and company. Now under new ownership, the chap in charge has turned this place around. 11 in our party to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday, each meal was perfection. We popped into The Wheatsheaf with some friends for a lunch on a sunny Sunday. We were greeted by the landlord Steffan, who immediately made us feel really welcome and gave us a quick breakdown of their menu. The food is a super interesting mix of Americana (tacos, burgers, bagels) and locally sourced British steaks (rib eye, t bone and more). Steffan explained that he had spent many years in the catering industry in the US, ultimately owning his own restaurant in Nashville. The experience shows! Every dish we had was top-notch, steaks cooked to perfection and with generous portions. The staff were lovely, unobtrusive but always on-hand and very attentive. They have a huge outside seating area, with spectacular views of the local countryside.This pub has shot to the top of our list, and we're already making plans to visit again soon. Would really recommend for a well varied menu with unique, delicious options. Huge garden with great views, plenty of car parking space and a really cool tiki bar outside. Really good selection of drinks too and the landlord is really happy, friendly and welcoming.

We spotted this gem on the road back to Bath where we are staying and boy are we so glad we did. The welcome could not have been any friendlier, the staff are superb and you feel that they are genuinely pleased to see you rather than as a walking wallet to be emptied.We were allowed to choose a table to suit us too instead of being sat where is most convenient for the waiting staff.When our food arrived it was amazing and definitely the best of our trip. The landlord also made a point of stopping to welcome us and enquired about us and our holiday, genuinely making conversation and being friendly. Overall, this is out of town but so well worth a visit. The Wheatsheaf should be part of any trip to Bath or North Somerset. It is on the A39 so easy to find. We will definitely return.

A landlord that goes out of his way to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Now there's a rare thing. This guy is trying really hard to turn around the bad reviews that are on here from past customer experiences. Sadly, TripAdvisor never wipes the slate clean when a new landlord takes over. What is to be gained by knowing that a customer had really bad service three landlords ago? It is not always mentioned that businesses are under new management.

What can I say. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed like one of the family. Very professional and polite staff. The food was amazing. We had steak and to be fair I have had my share in the top place’s in and around Bristol. I had the T Bone and it was perfect. The best steak I have ever had. My wife had the ribeye. Also amazing. Such a lovely pub. Great open fires. I would highly recommend for that quick pint on your travels. Or to go and have a meal and relax by the fire. Top place. Landlord Stefan is a great guy. The bar and serving staff were second to none. It’s not my local but I will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

We had a fantastic meal at the The Wheatsheaf in August 2020 and we received a very warm and friendly welcome from the lovely Landlord Steffan. Steffan was very knowledgeable on the Covid rules and restrictions which put us straight at ease, we felt very safe at The Wheatsheaf. The food was to die for (I would suggest ordering a steak as the chef cooked it to perfection!) and the customer service was out of this world. The menu was very unique to most local pubs as it had a very clever American twist to it! If you love delicious food then The Wheatsheaf is definitely the place to go! The pub boasts some amazing views of the beautiful countryside! If you are ever passing through this way then I highly recommend stopping by for an amazing meal or a refreshing pint in the beautiful beer garden. Steffan puts so much effort and time into this pub and you can tell!

What an interesting place this is. A lovely welcome by the very friendly lady behind the bar. An American style menu, small in choice but well executed. The owner is a larger than life American, very friendly and interested in what we thought of the food - a great character who made us smile. Well worth a visit I’d say.

Pequeño menú de almuerzo pero buena variedad de opciones. Pedí el filete de cerdo que era bastante grande, jugoso y muy sabroso. Vino servido con judías verdes, champiñones y patatas fritas tipo vieira. Realmente impresionado de que el propietario y el chef vinieran y se presentaran. Definitivamente lo recomendaría y volvería.

Acabo de regresar de un pequeño almuerzo familiar (4 personas + bebé). Todos disfrutamos mucho de la comida, la carne era de una granja local que yo mismo he usado. Raciones generosas y bien cocinadas y presentadas. Postres y café + algunas bebidas del bar. El servicio fue muy amable y el personal muy servicial. No he estado en Wheatsheaf durante algún tiempo y se ha actualizado con buen gusto. El distanciamiento social no es problema, buen servicio de mesa de principio a fin. Creemos que tiene una muy buena relación calidad-precio y recomendamos encarecidamente este pub. Sería una pena si este lugar no continuara debido al covid, así que pruébalo.

Went to the wheatsheaf pub after long time. The new landlord is really friendly and helpful. The food was really good and service was excellent. The landlord Stefan came to speak with us and explained his plans for this venue. We will definitely visit again.

Visité The Wheatsheaf por primera vez hoy. Stefan está haciendo un gran trabajo: la elegante renovación está bastante completa; el personal es excelente y muy acogedor y el jardín estará fabuloso cuando esté terminado, no hay que esperar mucho. Visted this place tonight, 6 adults & 4 children. Our pre booked seating was ready & waiting, the attentive waiter offered us menus & took our drinks order, very efficient & patient especially with 4 children. Good choice of American style food with modern twist to choose from, we went for chicken wings & nacho style chips with jalapeños , cheese, guacamole, sour cream etc., to share for starters, then T-bone steaks, sirloin & tbone pork chop, all cooked as requested, the children had the usual burgers & chicken, we had creme brûlée’s for desert & the children had ice cream. Nothing was too much trouble. The manager made us very welcome. We will definitely return & I can see this place go from strength to strength.

A few good reviews on Trip Advisor lured us back to a pub that had a bad reputation in previous ownership.The menu was shorter given the current situation but was nearly all fried something and French fries.One beer off but a reasonable range on offer.The outer seating area is certainly crying out for improvement. A small courtyard or back of car park.ist course delayed and arrived with 2nd course. Poor quality chicken in main course. and uninteresting bun. Not much in the way of healthy options

Several friends recommended this place and I’m glad they did.Visited mid week with my wife and grandchildren and had a great evening with some incredible food. The menu is small but well put together and definitely has an American influence. I had the buffalo t bone pork chop and my wife had a lovely looking Cajun chicken breast and both were really good and the T bone that a bloke had on next table was huge. They don’t have a specific kids menu yet (I believe this is in work) but they will do any of the mains in a smaller portion and the starters are big enough for the kids as they are. They knocked up some chicken nuggets for one of mine and the other had the deep fried bagels.The building itself has been tastefully refurbished with nice views out over the fields and the outside space and garden is really nice.The owner has done really good job with the place so far and he has great ideas going forward so glad we made the trip out and looking forward to going back to see where he takes it..PS... order a side of dirty fries for the table as they are fantastic

What a time to open up the Wheatsheaf. Newly refurbished with American influenced menu with great meat dishes and new chef proprietor. Friendly cosy atmosphere with plenty of space to distance and socialise with beer garden. Enjoyed meal out with friends .Very tasty food , good price and look forward to visiting again

We were all out for a lovely Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed. We strolled up from Saltford a distance of about 1.5 miles in lovely sunshine and got there a little late, but nobody was phased. The wheatsheaf has several real ales, lagers and ciders which we all enjoyed several of our various tipples. The lunches arrived and there were several of the girls who .said I'm not going to manage this lot. Whatever was ordered be it lamb, beef or pork was really tender. The veg of which there was plenty consisted of cauliflower cheese, carrot and swede mash,cabbage and broccoli. The roast beef came with a Yorkshire pud which was larger than a lot I've seen. Just one negative, each plate only came with 3 small roasters which everyone didn't think was enough. Apart from that an excellent meal. We will be back to try an evening out. See you soon.

We were camping down the road and this pub was nearby. Everyone was so friendly that we returned the next night. My soup was excellent. The chef prepares everything in the kitchen. Fun evening meal!

Have driven past this place for years and always thought the outside looked drab and untidy (first impressions count!) but heard that the team from The Red Lion in Bishop Sutton had now taken this place over - local friends suggested meeting here, so we did and what a great lunch, excellent fish and chips (possibly the best I've eaten anywhere), my friends had eight hour roast shoulder of lamb with spring greens and garlicky potatoes, breast of chicken with new potatoes and Morel mushroom sauce. Desserts also lovely of rum baba vanilla roasted pineapple, orange mango and passion fruit posset, Wookey hole Cheddar cheese and biscuits - amazing value for top ingredients. Friendly staff, and a nicely decorated restaurant - what more could you want? Will definitely be back!

We just stumbled upon the Wheat sheaf and were pleasantly surprised!!! Great food great service. Fresh food!! A must do if you are in the neighborhood! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Fantastic views to boot.

First visit since the exit of the group-on clan and thank god back in the hands of professionals should get the old reviews removed as gives a poor impression. It was a fantastic Sunday lunch just like my mum was in the kitchen but she was sat next to me, very nice to have friendly staff eager to please and a meal that is definitely worth recommending and worthy of frequent revisits, great to have very clean glasses and good selection of beers, keep up the good work best to book even Prince Charles struggled to get in on Monday.

Went to wheatsheaf for mothers day, 13 of us, table was laid beautifully, glasses for every type of drink. bottles of water on table. The food was remarkable on such a busy day, nothing was too much trouble, plenty of willing helpful staff. The starters were excellent, but the mains were exceptional. Beef that tasted like beef with beautiful gravy and more gravy supplied in boats. Pork, lamb chicken and salmon all had the same review, amazing food. This pub is going to fly serving meals of this quality and value.

Been here a good few times since it was taken over about 6 months ago. Very friendly and helpful staff, the Sunday Lunch is amazing, with Cauliflower Cheese, my favourite. We try to book at least once a month now. A definite for anyone who has not tried it.

Well, Where do I start? If you have ever been to the Wheatsheaf at Corston before, wipe your memory and go back. It couldn't be more of a contrast! The menu only offers top quality produce, the team at the bar only offer the best of welcomes, the decor only offers the most comfortable surroundings, it's so clean and comfortable you'll not be in a hurry to leave. Nothing is too much trouble for the new crew, but behind scene, this chef knows what he's doing!

Just revisited The Wheatsheaf after a change of management.....had a fabulous meal, really tasty, lovely and hot and excellent quality produce. Staff were extremely friendly and inviting and our waitress Katie did an excellent job. All in all a really good experience, will defiantly revisit.

We decided to try an evening meal at the pub having heard good reviews from friends who had visited in January after its reopening.

This pub came under new management in November 2018 and is still undergoing some refurbishment.

We had a family meal catering for 25, food was absolutely delicious and hot. Very friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely be returning and recommending to my friends.

After reading previous reviews I went to the Wheatsheaf for lunch last Sunday with my family. I was not disappointed. The staff were friendly and and the service was excellent. The restaurant area was small but very cozy. It was lovely not to be in an overcrowded room. It felt very homely. The food was exceptional. We had the lamb roast dinner and I can honestly say it was the best meal I have had for a very long time. Well worth the money. This is a pub I would highly recommend and I will definitely be visiting it again when I am in the area.

Popped in to warm up after a dog walk. Stayed for lunch and had the best ham, egg and chips ever! We also had a fantastic Beef and horseradish roll, which came with amazing unique chips. All great quality and good value.

Afortunadamente un buen gerente a cargo de la Wheatsheaf. Buena comida, buen Butcombe y Doom Bar en oferta. Almorzamos el viernes y volvimos para un domingo asado, ambos excelentes. Un personal muy acogedor y competente, un pequeño bar con una hermosa chimenea en los días fríos, un restaurante muy elegante. Excelente.

This pub has had it's ups and downs over the years but is now under new management and the locals are flocking back.
