Excellent food, service was impeccable, I'm on crutches just now and they were so helpful.

If you want a great pasta or pizza, definitely have a look at this place. Open till 1 am and with some great service! Cocktail bar and a good kitchen, what more do you want?!

Great food, service and cocktails. Slightly more expensive but they make up for it with seemingly high quality ingredients and great food!

Amazing restaurant, ticks all the boxes

Looking for somewhere to have dinner on a Monday evening in Dundee, we came across the West House. Warm welcome, tasteful decoration and more than adequate food. We had a very tasty board to share. I recommend.

Came in for breakfast. The option I chose wasn't available and had a long wait for the dishes we ordered. That would be my only complaint. V friendly staff, food was nice when it came and coffee also good. Will defo come back 👍🏼

First time visit. Decent food, chilled morning vibe and friendly service.

Service was amazing. The bartenders were all very funny, professional and very approachable. The food was outstanding and the chef is clearly over qualified.

Mediocre avocado on toast with coffee = £13.50. Rip off. Wouldn’t recommend at all for vegans unless you’re happy subsidising the better food for everyone else. You’d be far better going around the corner, getting a nice loaf and doing it yourself!

Can't wait to get back here. Our regular Dundee cafe was closed, so we gave this place a try, amazing food, so tasty! Thank you!

Nice restaurant. Service was good. Unfortunately had a disappointing experience with the food. Ordered the BBQ pizza and it came with red onion, which I have an intolerance to, even though it wasn't listed as a topping for that pizza on the menu. Didn't really have time to wait for it to be remade so just had to pick the onions out which wasn't ideal. May have just been a mistake on the side of the kitchen staff as including additional pizza toppings isn't something I've experienced anywhere else before, but it was certainly unwelcome. EDIT 25/7/24 in response to owner comment: Thank you for your response Lauren. I had to double check just in case I was mistaken as I don't want to be leaving inaccurate reviews, but the red onion was definitely not listed as an ingredient. Please see the image I have attached, which I've taken from the menu which is available on your website.

We went for a family brunch here. The food took 45 minutes and when we asked the staff they behaved as if we were being a nuisance, they didn't check on the table and completely ignored all niceties when paying. Very strange. Food is not so great either. It's a great place for cocktails in the evening but as a restaurant far from it.

We always really enjoy the food and service here. Today was no exception, would recommend the french toast.

Great pizzas, good staff and busy atmosphere. We were staying the Hilton opposite so very convenient. Would definitely recommend.

Stumbled across this wonderful cafe serving gf pizza and pasta using the find me gluten free app. It was very busy so we had a wee wait but it was well worth it for the absolutely delicious gluten free and dairy free half pizza I enjoyed with a small bowl of sweet potato, carrot and butternut squash soup. Only £10.75. It's the best gluten free pizza I've had in the ten years I've not been able to eat gluten. Staff are very friendly. Music was very loud and difficult to have a conversation when we first arrived as people were speaking loudly to be heard but by the end of the meal some people had left and the music was quieter so it was a lovely relaxing ambience and able to have a conversation.

Our daughter attends University in Dundee so when we visited her recently she suggested we try this place out. All 5 of us were immediately impressed by the welcoming staff and a food menu that also allowed you to split a pizza with a cup of soup or wedges for example. Ideal for our youngest. Everything was served quickly including the drinks. So all in all a nice experience. We will come back the next time we visit our daughter.

Delicious prawn pasta with friendly staff. Worth a visit.

This has become my grandmother’s and my go-to place for a pre-theatre dinner. The menu has plenty of variety, and you get quality food without feeling like your having a stuffy restaurant experience, the space is so airy. The staff are really friendly and eager to help, even when I had tricky questions. Our favourites include the pancakes and the Hawaiian pizza. My only criticism is that the wedges are overpowered with pepper and don’t have much flavour apart from that. When booking I recommend asking for a lower table if you need one - you will probably get that by default if you are eating but the barstools aren’t for everyone.

It is one of the slowest services we have ever experienced, and considering the food is pretty basic (sandwiches, salads and pizza) and should be quick to make, and the restaurant small, I am very surprised they haven't gone bust yet. Staff looked like they couldn't care less whether you were there or not. We will certainly not be going back.

Was in town for my birthday. Never dined here before so went there based on the reviews. Told quality food, wait times for food very quick, excellent service by the staff, atmosphere very happy. Very reasonable cost wise. Def would recommend and would def come back next time I'm in town.im vegetarian so happy to see menu had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available. Also allergens clearly labelled.

Had the ciabatta and wedges for lunch. The only issue I had is that the potato wedges are obviously cooked beforehand and re fried when ordered because it's so busy. You can tell as they were overcooked and oily. Apart from this it was nice

Lovely little place we just randomly found and popped in. Sitted straight away and staff where very helpful and friendly especially when a glass got spilled on the table they helped clean it up without hesitation. Food arrived very quickly and was beautiful. Absolute must visit if in the area.

Fantastic location for family birthday brunch. The selection of food catered for all dietary requirements for adults and kids and was totally delicious. Service was friendly and helpful and the prices were really reasonable. We will definitely be back!

Had full breakfast was served in a frying pan was a nice touch and great presentation. Hot chocolate was nice. Staff were fine. Could do with music on or if so volume up a little. Only issue was butter was solid so couldn't use.

Quick service and turnaround. Fresh tasty food. Family of 4 adults. Lovely thin pizzas homemade dough ; ciabbata with halloumi and wedges. Delicious.

Stopped for dinner without a booking on a busy Sunday night and we were made very welcome, a table was found for us after a short wait, both pizza and cocktails were delicious. Dog friendly to boot.

Best tuna melt ever! Accompanied by a really nice homemade sweet potato and carrot soup. I wish I had photographed it before it was demolished. Hubby had BLT and wedges also great. Full bar warm and friendly great service

Had the bruschetta. To die for enough as a share. Place is small but very under rated staff are exceptional and attentive. Will definitely come again. Food is fantastic

Serve a pizza with the edge visibly charred... pitch black... 5 to 10 minutes later, another pizza is served with the edges burned again. just the same pizza, but the bad edges have been polished away. The pizzas on the table next to me are not burned. Too bad because the taste was quite good.

Nice wee place! Wonderful brunch selection! I got the 3 egg omelette with black pudding chilli and I added sun-dried tomatoes! Really nice, pleasant staff, section of alcohol on offer! Would go back!

Good quality food at a reasonable price, we went for lunch the food was good quality and service quick considering it was busy, my kids had a cheese and tomato pizza which looked lovely I had the spinata ciabatta and soup which again was great, the coffee was also brilliant, will definitely be back

Great thin and crispy pizza 🍕 and they had no problem doing a cheeseless one for hubby. Speedy attention from all staff and food arrived quickly too. Here on a Weds at about 7, and was filling up as we left. Oh and background music just right for conversation too.

Cocktails good but the staff need more training - bar not busy and staff standing behind the bar when tables needed cleaned - and when prompted only cleaned half the table - staff need training - your customers are why you are here - do better !!

First and last visit here. We had a table booked for 11am, we waited an hour for our food, no apology or no one told us it was going to be a bit of a wait. I understand you can get busy days and can be understaffed but no one thought to mention this to us. We were well finished our drinks before our food came out. The 3 friends I was with got their food and almost finished there’s before mine came out. Again no apology at all. The food was average and overpriced in my opinion. And when our bill was being paid the staff didn’t even ask “how was your meal” worst customer service I have experienced. I will not be recommending this place and I will never step foot in this place again

My daughter couldn’t wait to visit the west house for breakfast. Having seeing pictures from her friends snapchats she thought the pancakes and waffles smothered with Nutella looked to die for. We visited one day to be turned away as they were fully booked… wow!! This place must be amazing… We booked for following weekend and were excited to try out this popular menu. After arriving we were seated and provided water, ordered hot chocolate and coffee which arrived quickly and tasted on point. Delicious! We also ordered our food and then proceeded to wait over one hour on an uncomfortable stool for breakfast… not once were we approached to ask or advised if we were able to wait this long. Once the food arrived not once did any member of staff approach our table to ask if everything was ok, did we require any further beverages. Really the service was shocking and the food very mediocre. I ordered the skillet and think I nearly broke my tooth trying to eat the sourdough toast. My kids could not even eat the waffles as the amount of Nutella smothered over the waffles was insane… (might be amazing for some) but sickly for most I imagine in that abundance. We will 100% not return. I can assure you the price tag did not fit the service or goods. Disappointed is an understatement. And yes this is my first ever review.. I felt so frustrated that I wanted to share my feedback.

Pizza was really good. Crust was thin and crispy, definitely homemade. Toppings delicious. Very nice atmosphere. Would be pleasant in the evenings too. Very recommended.

I freaking love this place, every time I’ve went in, the food is genuinely so delicious💓, it’s cheap and most meals are about a tenner for amazing food💓, the staff are lovely and very welcoming, the seats are nice, the scenery is quite foresty & plants.

I went to the West House with kids/teenagers. Looks really simple and basic when you walk in but to our surprise the food was pretty good. We really enjoyed carbonara, pizza was good, chorizo with tomatoes. Prices are moderate. Aaaa…. Try IPA from tap.

We visited based on previous reviews and weren't disappointed. It's a bright, airy venue and service was prompt and friendly. We ordered carbonara, a pizza and halloumi salad. All the food was delicious as were the desserts, sticky toffee pudding and the Belgian waffle.. It was perfect for what we wanted and reasonably priced too.. Most importantly, our dog was allowed in. Definitely worth a visit.

Friendly staff and a cosy atmosphere, yummy cocktails but average food. We came for dinner as a small group of girls after good recommendations. Very limited dinner menu, only really pasta or pizza options. I had a pizza and it was so thin it was basically like a hard tortilla. This allowed for little topping which ended up quite dry. It was fairly tasty but won’t be getting again. The menu was affordably priced, and there was a good selection of cocktails to choose from. Would still give this place a go for breakfast as maybe that’s its stronger area.

I have visited The West House couple times and both times enjoyed my food and service was excellent. I like the style of the place and music was really good. They do half of the pizza and soup of the day - which I find great combination :)

Food always top quality, some inconsistencies in past visits Staff are attentive and always keep themselves occupied, check backs are spot on and prices are very good for the environment. Lovely interior.

Had lovely sharing plate of nachos with pulled pork and another of antipasto food and a beer or two. Food amazing. Service a bit slow. Food more than makes up for it. Recommend.

Apart from the seats beside the toilet which was supposedly our only option since we hadn't booked, food was not to bad - until the sticky toffee pudding came. Sickly sweet and suspiciously tin-shaped, it spoiled an otherwise mediocre eating experience. Then, somehow, 4 other diners magically got better seats despite not booking either. Won't be back.

Main meal was pretty good, but the sticky toffee pudding seemed like it was shop-bought (a bit sickly sweet and I wish I'd not bothered). Although it says you don't need to book, I'd suggest doing so or you'll risk being stuck next to the toilets like we were. Staff weren't very attentive but seemed pretty friendly.

We popped in this morning for breakfast and really enjoyed everything from the coffee, the food and the service. The menu has so much to choose from and the staff so accommodating and friendly. We’d definitely return if we visit Dundee again!

Always a high consideration when heading into the city centre for lunch/brunch/breakfast. Very good prices, fantastic food and service. Very warm environment to relax and catch up!
