Very casual mellow vibe food and service were great i recommend the meatballs and tuna belly! We will be back.

Nice atmosphere and lovely tapas... although some portions were very small for the price. Unfortunately on the most recent visit the service was very slow and we had to remind staff of our order several times. They serve each dish when it's ready, but this meant we would get one dish, eat it and then wait (sometimes for over 10 minutes) for the next one. This was a shame as we wanted to enjoy the dishes together.

Wonderful food, nice premises. Service can be slow though. Will be back though.

We made a last minute booking on the phone and the staff were great to find a slot to squeeze us in! I have previously not had good experiences with Tapas, but this restaurant was excellent. Every dish we ordered was full of flavour and a great size. I would recommend going with 3-4 people as an ideal group size to share all of the plates. The restaurant itself had a lovely atmosphere that felt like a genuinely good and friendly place to eat!

Really enjoyed this Tapas restaurant. Very reasonably priced, and a great selection for meat eaters and vegetarians. Helpfully main allergens of wheat and dairy were highlighted on the menu. Special drinks included a really tasty non alcoholic Hugo for the driver and a great white sangria. Wines looked extensive too so all in all a great find. Close to university. A lovely atmosphere really helpful staff and food was super. Definitely recommended.

Nice aesthetic atmosphere for this local spot. This was lunch for 2. However, aside from the decent service, the overall experience was lower than I expected. The food was mediocre at best, but had a resounding aura of meh. I had a hot sandwich with a soup, which wasn't offensive in any way but wasn't special either. The "manchego" was supplemented by what seemed to be mozzarella. The other person I was with got the goats cheese, fresh fig and honey salad. This was abysmal. I'm guessing the previous day they had forgot to order just about everything as the salad was 70% goats cheese, 20% salad and 10%... Marmalade?? I just wish the foh staff would at least inform customers of the substitution. The atmosphere was also dulled by music that was a little too loud which resulted in us talking pretty loud to be able to hear each other. Tldr - please inform your customers.

Breakfast visit. Lots of cluttered tables on arrival - limited staff initially. Table was cleared but chairs and underside of table was sticky and service was slow. When food arrived it was all at different times and food was lukewarm. Usually rave about this place but was left disappointed this time.

Lovely place and nice welcome. However, had to wait for 40 minutes for eggs Benedict. They had forgotten our order. We were not the only couple to have experienced it as I heard another couple complain . When the waitress did arrive, it was the wrong order It maybe a one off but there was several tables needing cleared too. Probably arrived at a busy time but that's for the restaurant to sort out.

Tasty coffee, delicious food and super friendly service.

We went there for a dinner and the place was quite. Got seated quickly and liked the small fairly lights decor they have going Food: the garlic bread:was ok so 2.5/5 they could have done better Chickpeas was like eating something out of the can 1/5 Pataata bravas was good for our palate but lacked the Mexican punch 3/5 Veg croquettes were quite tasty 4/5 Regular bread was good 4/5 Dips with bread: the garlic one was fine but Mojo Picon was average and seemed old Chorizo was ok Tender stem broccoli were average Now about the drinks We loved reach one of them especially the coffee cocktail . So full marks for drinks although they took a long time to come.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was mixed. We had 6 dishes, 4 very good and 2 bad . We did complain and one of the dishes was removed from the bill so fair play for that. Don’t think I would go back.

Spanish and Middle Eastern small plates and excellent wines, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available. Recommend the delicious tapas of Catalan Spinach, the fig and Goat Cheese salad and the Aubergine. It was a very quiet day, with few tables occupied and 4 waitresses, but apparently only one in active duty, the order were taken after a long wait. Nice atmosphere with art books to peruse during the wait and fresh flowers and candles on the tables. Lovely cool Mesta wine.

We had a lovely lunch here while attending a conference at the university. We especially loved the mushrooms but everything was very good and the servers were charming

Nice choice to eat in Dundee during our weekend away. Out of the centre and towards the University. Good choice of tapas and at a reasonable price. Only the tuna was disappointing for us.

Brought out all of one persons meal then slowly bits and bobs of the other party. Kitchen forgot about half of the food. Menu does not accurately describe what you are getting- meatballs are caked in nuts, chorizo and manchego is a stew with many other things in it. Menu just does not tell you what you are getting at all, what is in anything or what format you are being served it in.

A 5 minute walk uphill from the Overgate centre this lovely bistro is well worth a visit. The staff are very professional and attentive. It has a lovely ambiance and the tapas were delicious. The chicken skewers especially was outstanding.

We go there every Friday for coffee and have found the staff welcoming and pleasant. At any time we have bought food it has been very enjoyable and well presented. I would recommend unreservedly.

Really great find in the centre of Dundee. Food was very good, decent amount of choice for all tastes. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. Only slight downside is very cramped, small tables for a proper Tapas experience. Staff struggling to get by our table throughout the night due to layout. But still loved this place and would definitely recommend

By far the worst experience we’ve ever had in a restaurant!! We booked a table a couple of weeks in advance for our visit to Dundee. On arrival we eventually were shown to our table & ordered drinks which arrived quickly. We were then ready to order food & we ordered four dishes between us. The first two arrived swiftly & they were mediocre at best, then we waited…..& waited & waited. After 25 minutes we eventually managed to get a member of staff to our table & asked where the rest of our order was, he went away to check. We then waited another ten minutes before a manager came over & offered us bread & olives. Id rather have my order please! At this point we realized that going there was a waste of our time & money, so asked for the bill. I wasn’t surprised to see that we had still been charged for our “half a meal experience”. On returning home (Sunday), my wife sent an email of complaint to the restaurant. It now seems that not only can they not serve food, but are unable to reply to emails aswell.

One of the best place for getting Tapas. Delicious food, good portion, and amazing cocktails! Highly recommended.

It is supposed to be Spanish but not even the letter is well translated. The prices are exaggerated for such small tapas. We ordered a chorizo ​​with Manchego cheese and it didn't even have cheese and it was blood sausage. Also, it took a long time for the dishes to arrive.

The food here is so good, I loved it all, but especially the Patatas deluxe and the goats cheese. The service was lovely and food was ready in mere minutes. Definitely going again!!

The staff and atmosphere were GREAT. The food was alright, but sadly what was disappointing was that the food was brought to the table randomly in drips and drabs. I accept this may be a personal preference but I really dislike food being brought out one at a time randomly rather than brought out as a whole where all the guests can have their meals together jointly. But, to be fair, the staff were WONDERFUL and made up for any inadequacies.

Service was woeful. No offer of drinks when we arrived. Eventually got someone's attention then another 10 minutes to he served them. Another 20 minutes to get attention to order food. Then 20 minutes to wait for it, a cheese platter & a meat plater bothe over-priced for what they were. Another lengthy period of time to wait for our next drink. We were then reminded (respectfully) that our table was require in 10 minutes. Maybe if your service was better we would have been.finished on time. Won't be back

Enjoyable traditional tapas, may have to wait a bit for some hot dishes, but plenty to enjoy while you are waiting if you get some of the faster vegetable and charcuterie options.

We just love it at gallery 48, we’ve been so many times now. The pil pil is always my go too! So tasty! Staff are always great, Gavin is our Absoloute favourite!!! He just makes every visit great, makes the most fabulous cocktails! If you go you must try the patas Bravas! Incredible

1st time here and we will come back. The place was nicely decorated with prints from local artists to buy and tables were a mix of tall and normal height. It was busy for a Sunday night with a mixture of all Ages. We went for 3 tapas each and a cheeseboard and sangria. The food was lovely and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

We arrived at 245, the restaurant wasn't overly busy, about 10+ free tables. The waitress arrived, explained what was sold out, then took our orders. As we were waiting we seen staff returning from the local shops with 6 tubs of cream cheese. Half an hour after we ordered, someone came out and explained that the soup we had ordered had run out. We took the alternative, although we were confused why it took 30 minutes to figure this out. At 40 minutes gone, I asked waiter why it was taking so long, he said it was it busy. It wasn't. I then was served my food, 5 minutes later I approached the desk asking what was happening with my partners food, they said they had sent someone out to the shops to get some salmon for us. We cancelled the salmon and ate what we had, as an apology from the restaurant they took the salmon off our bill(which we didn't even get). Last time we went to this restaurant we thought it was great, we won't be going back this time. Utterly shocking service, and it looks like a lot of stuff on the menu is from lidl! (the member of staff arrived back with a full bag of shopping, probably including the salmon!)

We've been here twice before, and always enjoyed it. The service was good and the food was really tasty. However, I hate to say, the restaurant needs a deep clean and a few coats of paint here and there. Two first impressions; the glasses were covered in fingerprints and the menus have clearly seen better days. Such a shame as the finer details really let it down.

We visited Gallery 48 during a recent trip to Dundee. I had noticed there were a few offers available on It is On, so bought 2 vouchers. One for 3 tapas and a jug of Sangria and another for 3 tapas. We visited for dinner on Sunday evening. The menu was very varied and all dishes and the Sangria was delicious. When we paid the bill we were advised the itison deal did not start until the following day, however the staff member said they would accept it. The service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely visit Gallery 48 when we are next in Dundee.

Extremely disappointed with the service during our visit yesterday lunch time. We visit every year when family come to visit and I also come various times throughout the year. Normally thoroughly enjoyed and never have any complaints. From the minute I stepped foot in the door it was a disappointment. I stood waiting to be seen and shown to my table, staff all standing chatting behind the bar. When I eventually approached the bar after nobody coming over I was told “it’s that table over there” a point across the restaurant, not the usual friendly service… The rest of my party joined me and we sat for 15mins waiting for someone to come and take at least a drinks order. Again we had to approach the bar and ask someone to come over. To which we were greeted with a frosty waitress with her notepad. I have to say the food was delicious as always it’s just disappointing to be served by moody staff members. This was not just limited to one person, there were at least 3 who would all prefer to just stand round chatting. We were never approached to ask if we would like any further drinks throughout our meal. So we all only had 1 drink the whole time. Tables around us were also left uncleaned for long periods of time after diners left. We approached the bar again to ask for our bill! Surprisingly the quickest they returned to the table was straight away with the card machine. Thoroughly disappointing and I have to admit we will consider other venues over here for our next family get together.

What could have been a mediocre review was turned round by the quality of the food and the attention from Gavin. The broccoli, crab piquillo peppers and chorizo/black pudding were excellent. Gavin's knowledge of the ingredients were second to none and his passion for the food was clear. Thank you for looking after us and for the really interesting conversation Gavin.

Amazing food and service, can get really loud due to the acoustics when it's busy

Very busy and food wasn't as good as our last visit. Claggy tomato sauce on the meatballs and less attention to detail. Very average but decently priced. Please ask when folk book, if they are able to get on the high chairs. Some of us are not and it messes with the seating plan

We all thought the food was excellent, could not fault it. The staff were very knowledgeable about food and cocktails and very friendly.

Fantastic tapas place, great selection of meaty, seafood or vege plates and came out quickly. Sangria was fantastic and had a lovely time. This was my second tapas experience but I feel I’ve actually been to a tapas restaurant now.

Was recommended Gallery 48 on facebook it didn’t fail to meet and exceed our expectations. Excellent food and service from Gavin. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Dundee. We each had 3 dishes, and a pudding.

Hot chocolate was lukewarm and of extremely poor consistency, far too frothy, and the richness was quite low, resulting in the drink tasting like a poorly made cup of water. 3/10

Used to love going here but it’s unfortunately went down hill, prawns with cashews very odd, meatballs with like a bland carrot purée, salad never arrived as usual until you ask for it-looks like it was forgotten like previous times, portions smaller, chicken dry and over cooked, wines list also changed and not for the better, service was good and server was knowledgeable but too many changes too probably cut cost when I’d actually happily pay more for nicer food

We went for food twice in Gallery 48 and absolutely loved it both times. We arrived late Saturday night and they still managed to fit us in before the kitchen closed, the service was exceptional, with Gavin being a real asset to the restaurant, he was amazing and very friendly and helpful, which made the experience all the better. We got the cured meat platter, the crab salad, the chicken skewers and the chorizo and black pudding tapas, everything was super tasty, especially the meat platter! Very good value for money, we were really happy with our visit and will be back whenever we pass through Dundee.

Gone downhill unfortunately. Serving staff indicated on arrival that approximately half the menu was unavailable- it was only 4.30pm in the afternoon - and included most of the popular choices. The table of 6 next to us were equally disappointed. Had to request cutlery twice. Staff looked fed up - don't blame them. Sad as it used to be such a vibrant place to eat.

Wow! Went with the wife on a friend's recommendation after being disappointed by another tapas venue on the town. Fabulous sangria, excellent food, we were very happy bunnies rolling down the road. Unfortunately I did not get our server's name, but her recommendations were spot on, as was her service.

Lovely nice restaurant, super clean, really bright and airy inside, really welcoming feeling. Staff friendly and helpfull, all really cheerful. Food was amazing, good sized portions, super high quality and really nice. Really great value! The soup was superb and the tapas great. Good veggie options, plenty to choose from. Well worth a visit!

Arrived on time. Was a bit concerned about previous reviews. Service was good, food was fine but definitely not worth the money. Expensive for what you get. I had croquettes, Patatas Bravas and the prawns and a coctail. My friend had sweet potato fries, mushrooms and meatballs. They did say they all come at separate times! (Not great) but for just over £50 they sure are raking it in.

Food was fine, if not outstanding. Waiting staff were lovely and dealt with questions about menu items efficiently. But... The head-pounding music played the whole evening was just ridiculous. Customers wanted to talk to each other, and the only way to do it was to scream loudly over the music. Net result - pounding music volume 11, plus shouting diners. I would probably consider returning if it wasn't for my headache. If I want to reserve a table in future 0I'll ask if the music guy will be there, and if he is, I'll go elsewhere.

I went here for an anniversary dinner based on some great online recommendations. I wanted to like it more than I did. The food was lovely, however, the service was fairly chaotic. We were ran through menu, then ordered to be told they didn't have our requested order. This happened for both the food and drink. We also had to ask for the bill a few times. In short, nice food but bumpy service.

Really a nice place, nice ambient, service really good, the guys be so nice especial Louis. Crocretas de carne saben a "migas" GOAT cheese salad from another world. Pilpil really good. Meetballs, need to take a look, Guys put a little 💕 when u make the food. Iberian selection with cheese so nice as well. And they have Estrella Galicia top quality beer. I recommend this place if u want to have a Spanish experience in Dundee, Scotland.

Can't fault Gallery 48. Warm welcome, great food and drinks, very friendly staff. We loved the tapas menu and the play list too. Will definitely return.

Having visited Gallery 48 several years ago I was looking forward to visiting again. The cocktails were amazing as always, and I feel the selection has improved since my last visit. Would recommend the tropical rumbull mojito & the bramble. When it came to the food, it was mixed. Most of the food was lovely, stand outs were the gambas pil pil & the broccoli. But we waited a long time for certain items, and when the croquettes finally arrived after we had long finished the rest of the meal… they were frozen in the centre. Obviously this is disappointing as we waited, but also because it was clear they were not made in house. While this wouldn’t put me off visiting again, and the staff handled it amazingly, I do think it is worth noting.

It was our 1st time visiting! The place was packed( always a good sign)! We where greeted promptly and taken to our table. A short time later tap water was delivered( no need to ask) and a drinks order taken. As it was our 1st time they also explained the style of service. We ordered a broad selection off the menu, and can honestly say everything was delicious and served promptly by friendly staff. We then shared churros for dessert. We really did have an amazing time and would highly recommend. Gallery48 is now a firm favourite of ours.

To be truthful, the food was amazing. The staff were lovely and friendly, but I honestly think if we'd just walked out without paying they wouldn't have noticed. We spent ages trying to get their attention to pay. I know they were really busy, it was graduation week at Dundee. They'd probably worked long hours for ages, and were probably tired. But turning over tables quickly (when they want to pay) means more covers and better tips. Like I say, I'd go again, they were lovely and the food was great, but the wait once we were done knocked a few stars from my review.

Food, service and atmosphere is always of the highest standard. This is the perfect place for a City Centre meal and works well for pre-theatre or pre-gig.

We've always loved Gallery 48 since it opened a few years back. However our last lunch visit 3 weeks ago was very disappointing. We ordered 4 tapas dishes as usual. The Gambas arrived first. 8 prawns swimming in oil with one minute piece of bread. At a cost of £7.95 we're talking £1 per prawn. Half an hour later the Chorizo and black pudding arrived. Again a tiny dish with a couple bits of Chorizo and black pudding on the bottom. Barely enough for one person let alone two. Patatas Bravas consisted of cubed tatties in a bowl with a bit of tomato sauce over the top. Finally after a long long wait we were served the chicken skewers. Overcooked dry and tasteless. And to top it all the two "cheapest " bottles white wine were unavailable so the waitress tried to flog me a bottle of Sauvignon at £32! A bit OTT for a Dundee restaurant. In all the years we've been coming along the menu has stayed exactly the same. Maybe needs a bit of a shake up for loyal customers to revisit in future.

This is a lovely restaurant. The atmosphere is just perfect and staff were very very friendly. The menu had something for everyone and was explained very clearly by our server. Tables were a great size for tapas and the whole place was very homely and comfortable. The food was delicious! Great selection, all of which very tasty and filling. As the restaurant got busier service did slow down considerably with wait times for some dishes nearing 25 minutes which wasn’t great. However overall a brilliant atmosphere and great staff, would 100% recommend for a unique yet familiar variety of tapas.

My daughter requested this restaurant when asked where she would like to go to celebrate her graduation. I’m so glad she did. With a little hiccup when we entered as our decorations hadn’t been put on table as requested. The very quickly remedied that by moving us to another table with complimentary cava and bread dips. We ordered a selection of items from tapas menu and it was absolutely first class. Kiera and Harry both had cocktails and we honestly could not fault the venue or staff. We will definitely return

Our visit was a bit of a disaster. Before I start this review I would like to stress we were the only people in the restaurant at the time. Despite this fact we waited 45 minutes for some poached eggs. Deary me. On top of this, two of our orders were completely forgotten and did not arrive for another 10 minutes after the ‘staff’ identified they had made a mistake. The food was delicious when it came, but the customer service has to be questioned. Multiple drinks were spilled and communication from the staff was very patchy.
