Popped in for lunch after walking the dogs at Steps Bridge, a truly traditional village tea room, a warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble, small, select menu of panini’s, jacket potatoes, cakes and afternoon tea’s, all freshly prepared to order, absolute delight of a find, will visit again

Came here for lunch on a sunny day and sat in the garden. Friendly, helpful, cheerful staff - nothing too much trouble. The sourdough goats cheese with bacon, bubble and squeak and cauliflower/broccoli cheese were delicious and we couldn't fault the food, service or drinks. What lets it down just a little is the old, tired tablecloths and the garden as a whole needs a good tidy, trim and clean - difficult this time of year when things grow like crazy!

We were delighted to be back at probably our favourite tea shop to find that though it had new owners it was just as wonderful. We actually had lunch and then tea for dessert. The lunches were really good and the scones fantastic. Nice to see I can even bring vegan friends

I’ve just met a friend for lunch at the newly renovated Tea Rooms in Dunsford , where we both enjoyed a delicious lunch ! Charlotte the new owner went the extra mile for me and cooked me a scrumptious carb free chicken salad bowl ! The chicken was dusted in paprika and was lovely and tender served with a fresh crunchy salad ! My friend enjoyed the quiche of the day served with potatoes salad and leaves! It’s a real treat to find somewhere open all day in the winter to meet friends and family ! Previously we we have been for breakfast which was a real treat. The fresh coffee is delicious with an array of tempting pastries as well as the usual Bacon and egg .. As we were leaving a large party of local people arrived to celebrate a 90th birthday with afternoon tea, I have to say it looking amazing and Charlotte had even made a special Birthday Cake ! I can’t wait to visit again, Keep up the good work

Living in Dunsford and having regularly visited the Walled Garden for Coffee, lunch, tea and Supper, I was keen to see whether it would be up to it's previous standard now that it is run by new proprietors. I popped along for a bite of lunch and had a delicious filled Ciabatta with Mozzarella, Mediterranean veg and Pesto. The side salad was just the right size and tastily not over dressed. My appetite pretty much satisfied I decided to go the whole hog and have a sweet! A nice, home made chocolate twist. I am now reassured that the Walled Garden is in good hands and recommend a visit in the near future.

We literally stumbled across this quaint place when we were hungry after a long walk in the moors. What a find! From the outside it looked small and you'd blink and miss it... But its like an outside kind of tardis! The most beautiful idyllic garden opened up once you walk through the restaurant. A large variety of well maintained bushes and shrubs gave each individual table privacy. The nicest outdoor space I've ever seen in a restaurant! The menu had something for everyone. The pie was delicious and served with a varied salad, lovely salad dressing, and nice chips. Really friendly service too! We will be back!

Firstly I’d like to add how they have a great social distancing policy in place. The owners are super friendly and make you feel very welcome. We had a lovely freshly made Devon cream tea in a beautiful little private area in the garden. The service was fast and friendly and we didn’t feel hurried at all. A real hidden gem and definitely worth a visit

This is one of my favourite tea rooms: once you go through the small, traditional tea room and out in the garden you find yourself in the most beautiful walled garden. Surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers you really feel like you are in a secret garden: it’s peaceful and time seems to stop for a while whilst you are there enjoying the tasty, freshly prepared food. Cream teas, cakes and fresh ice cream are all delicious! The savoury dishes seemed tasty and of a good size too. If you are in the area you must try it - it doesn’t look special from the front but it is surprisingly beautiful at the back. I would recommend it!

We have just returned from a long weekend in Devon post lockdown. This is a great place to visit, the garden has around 10 tables, each in its own separate ‘nook’ so no worries about being too close to another table. The food was very good, and the staff were very friendly. Prices are very reasonable, 2x coffees, scones and a large slice of cake was around £9 and 4x proper take away meals less than £20. I Thoroughly recommend to The Walled Garden, both eat in and take away.

The setting of The Walled Garden is superb, so we've been there several times. There's a great choice of fare on the menu and the home-made pies and quiches sound delightful. The filling of my steak and kidney pie was first class, all top quality. But the pastry was soggy, and it was the same on a companion's quiche. Maybe they microwave them to get them up to temperature and that always lets pies down, quite literally. They need to be hot and firm, then they would be perfect. Pie in the sky? I hope not, so I'll go back one day to find out. Choose something else and your meal could quite easily be delightful - it's certain that it won't be expensive.

This is a wonderful place with simple but delicious home-made food (pies, quiches, etc). There are a few indoor seats but the majority of tables are out in the beautiful walled garden in amongst the shrubs or under open shelters. Servings are well presented, tasty and plentiful. Their home-made ice cream is a must! To sit in the garden on a sunny day with fine food and with nothing but the sound of birds twittering or perhaps the bells of the nearby village church ringing is blissful. Their cream teas are also incredibly yummy - I've never seen so much cream! Please check opening times on their website as they only open from April to October and generally from 10 am to 5 pm.
