I had a really nice overnight stay here, friendly staff, nice clean room, shower with hot water, plus a lovely breakfast to wake up to! A bit of road noise, but I got to sleep OK 👍

A gem of a pub with excellent accommodation A very very short walk into the City centre but with the advantage of parking for guests. Staff are superb and a tasty choice of fresh food and drinks Worthy of 10/10 in all categories

Close enough to town for a walk, plenty off local food options to choose from and friendly staff.

An absolutely brilliant value for money place to stay for a trip to York. Easy to get to with a little free car park at the back of the pub. Quick and easy check in. Comfortable, spacious room. 10 minute walk to the centre with lots of little shops around. Only slight niggle was the noise from outside but that was my fault because I forgot my loop earplugs whilst my missus had hers and slept like a log in the comfy bed. 5 stars.

Extremely noisy room with cheap signage light shining into the room. Road noise clear even with high performance ear plugs even in the mid-night. Like staying in a highway road side motel. Seriously unable to understand how the positive reviews came about. Not a single person before 3pm hence luggage storage not possible. Unstable WIFI. What one does not need in a cold night needing some rest. Do not meet the even most basic criteria of a good accommodation. Awful that it was paid and cannot switch to another accommodation. Luckily this is just an overnight stay but bad enough. The only negative experience in York which is a shame for a nice little trip during the Christmas season.

Loved this place. Great atmosphere and really good selection of well-kept beer. Thoroughly recommended. There was no score on the rooms as we didn't stay there.

Brilliant selection of real ales. Good beer garden in the summer and has beer festivals occasionally to add to its already impressive beer range. Oakham Citra on permanently.

Had 2 great nights stay at the Waggon and Horses in York had stayed here on last visit 4yrs ago and it didn’t disappoint, the Rooms are cosy and warm and everything you need for a few days break, Breakfast is top notch with plenty of choice and everything fresh and hot, Tom and the staff are really nice and little Bar is great to have a chilled out drink or even the garden space which is set up for outside drinks 👍 free parking is an absolute bonus and so easy to get around on foot once you’ve parked up, no complaints at all and will be our go to place again on our next visit.

The Wagon & Horses is a nice traditional pub that offers bed and breakfast. This lovely cosy pub has a wide range of beers lager and cider, including six hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. The cask ales i sampled were in excellent condition. There is a nice bar and a separate front room with a bar billiards table. There is also a cosy room at the back. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. With an amazing choice of real ales, this dog friendly pub is highly recommended.

Lovely B&B, the room was small but very clean and well looked after. The breakfast was fabulous and great value for money as included in the price. The hotel is about 10-15 minute walk from York City Centre.

Great value. Paid 49 pounds for bed and breakfast with plenty of amenities (free instant coffee, teabags, iron and even a snack, bath lotion and soap included). En suite bathroom was a huge plus. Breakfast was piping hot and huge along with self-serve cereal. Location was also convenient to food and close to transit.

We stayed here for two days recently and really enjoyed our stay. The room was small but had everything you need and very clean. Nice tea tray with biscuits and a bottle of water. Nice pub and friendly staff. Breakfast was really good. The poached eggs were delicious. Easy walk into the city with lots of options for dinner along the way. I would definitely stay again and would recommend.

We went to The Lord Nelson for a Sunday lunch as a birthday celebration. It was an absolutely brilliant lunch from start to finish. The service was great, drinks came quickly, and the menu looked great - with reasonable prices. The food was absolutely delicious one of the best roast dinners we have ever had. Thanks for a great afternoon spent in a great relaxed atmosphere.

Stumbled across the hall while completing the York Cat Hunt. Highly recommend popping in 1) to see the hall 2) to have a lovely cuppa and a sit down.

The staff are wonderful and caring and they have the best fish and chips in York.

We arrived at the cafe, to find the door was sticking, a member of staff had to open the door, with no warm welcome. There were 7 of us, the staff member then told us to squeeze up on to a table for 6, because we were taking up another table. Ok we obliged without complaint but then a single man came in and sat at a table for 4 people, but nothing was said to him. The member of staffs overall attitude spoilt our trip to No.12 and with a high price of £1.50 for a cup of hot water we won't be returning.
