The Vulcan Arms in Suffolk Coastal

This is a cozy warm pub. It serves excellent, tasty food in ample potions. The staff are very friendly with a dry humour. The toilets are spotless. We will definitely visit again in May 2025

Nice dog friendly pub, went here a few times whilst staying on a local campsite, nice food reasonably priced, play 60s music in the background and have a live band on a Friday night.

Visited for Sunday lunch yesterday. Landlord welcoming with a dry sense of humour which was lovely. Service staff great and super smiley. Very dog friendly and a wonderfully cooked roast beef! We will be back! Thank you all

Recently had a meal at The Vulcan Arms in Sizewell, we chose the Carvery. It was perfectly cooked and lots of choice The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection Service was great. A friendly traditional pub would highly recommend looking forward to a return visit . Janet/Paul

Our first ever visit here , dropped in for a couple of drinks, pub a bit oldy worldly which we don't mind, plaing good old 60s music, landlord friendly enough, feeling a bit peckish and they were serving a Roast Carvery at about 7.30pm which would have been too much as we just wanted a snack, so asked if it would be possible to maybe just have a couple of sandwiches with either of the meats on , maybe a bit cheeky I suppose but as business say they are struggling would have thought they could have done that !!! charged us say £4/5 each wouldn't have taken 2 minutes and we would have been happy and spent a few hours there but no can't possibly do that , so we finished our drink and left after 15 minutes , sorry won't be coming back

Quiet pub by Sizewell.....went for bite to eat..food was nice few people sitting in bar area...easier to pay by cash here. Not being local, I wouldn't know what else this pub does but wouldn't imagine its noisy place

It's a pub that does food. Owner/barman gas a very droll sense of humour and an excellent choice in music, mainly 60s and 70s. Pub is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Really good pub grub. Excellent sized portions, served piping hot. Good beers so what's not to like.

The owner of this restaurant was the kindest and warmest person I have ever seen in the world. After the meal, he even took our party to the accommodation in his car. The taste of the food is also surprisingly delicious. I want to visit again someday.

We came here on the Woodfordes ale trail. The landlord was really welcoming and chatty. The pub is amazing! Very traditional and spotlessly clean! I would definitely recommend!

Another well presented, traditional meal at the Vulcan. It's quaint, dark oak interior oozes character. The pub is really clean and tidy, with traditional ales.

Having walked up the coast from Aldeburgh to Sizewell, this was a welcoming sight. Strangely situated opposite the nuclear power station! Popular with campers as pub runs an area nearby for them to pitch up. Excellent food

We come back every year, it's so easy going we are right next to the sea, the owners of the site own the pub next the site. Trevor and Margaret are a lovely couple, the food is excellent also of course the beer. There's a cafe on the beach also public toilets. There's a lovely little town called Leiston nearby with a Co op supermarket and lots of other shops, all in all if your looking for lovely relaxing holiday this is the place. Thanks Trevor and Margaret, we've had, as always a lovely time.😘💕

A very pleasant water hole on a thorpeness circular walk. Nice food and good beer and Cider. Very warm friendly service. Love the beer garden, watch the world go by. Chips are great!

We had a great 3 course meal last Thursday served and cooked by a lovely landlady. Couldn't fault the meal or cost. The pub is freshly decorated with a new carpet and we can't wait to return. 🙂

Liked it alot. Very good size meal portions cooked well and arrived hot. Some meals about £10+ Nice menue and good drink selection. Half pint of coke was £2.50 wich was higher than some places you get a pint, no offer of ice but cold. Drinks order was taken and delivered friendly but then left the table and had to wait a while before could place food order. Food arrived withought cutlery so again had to wait a while. Friendly pub, spacious clean tidy and nice paintings and colour. 1 way system was in place with notice on door, going through door by car park and leaving past toilets at the back. Only down side is the door was locked and the 4 of us were left not knowing how to leave safely. As wearing masks we decided to walk back through where we came in passing 2 people coming in as safely as could. A little comunication or a sign on the locked door would have been useful.

Over priced £5.10 a pint food OK ill never go in there again

I would highly recommend this pub if you are looking for a cosy and traditional feel, the food was excellent and there are lots of vegitarian and vegan options. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is very great value for money and especially important all COVID-19 guidelines where adhered to by staff and customers.

Pleasant Traditional Pub, very clean and right by the beach, pub food excellent and decent size portion, will use again.

Despite the spectre of covid, the Vulcan arms did a splendid job of making us feel welcome, all covid rules adhered to, friendly staff great food and a pint of cider to die for, who could ask for more?

Popped in mid week for a pint whilst walking the dog, its a really nice traditional and well kept pub- with good beer. We also ended up booking Sunday lunch which turned out to be the best we had in a long time! loads of gravy- in a jug not poured all over your dinner! (she likes it more than me, but i had the lovely horse radish that also came with it) everything was cooked how it should be. it closes at 3pm every day, which they are very clear about, so no surprises- we will be back!

Nice traditional cozy English pub, with a great simple menu, excellent carvery and roast dinner. Consistently good quality. Can't recommend this place enough. Also close to the beach for some lovely dog walks.

Popped in for a drink out walking. Landlord (we assume) wasn't exactly welcoming, pub empty on a Saturday afternoon. Very old school but quite charming to find an old fashioned pub these days. Can someone cheer the Landlord up though 🙁

Good generous portions served in a pleasant traditional pub at readonable prices. IPA beer excellent too. Small point: best to have tv with subtitles and no sound.
