Great food and local beers and ciders, nice atmosphere and facing the sea. Also a really good location for town centre and the sea front. One of my favourite food and drink spots. Was back in on Sunday. Ordered fish and chips and the fish smelled off. Avoid the fish and chips. Staff just said that’s not normal. No refund or offer of alternatives

We had a fantastic Sunday roast, meals were delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Staff were efficient, friendly and attentive. Many thanks.

Came here for a bit of food, and wasn't disappointed, had a nice hot pot, which had potatoes cheese bacon and chicken, and leek, and was very delicious... any one coming here will not be disappointed, top quality food, and the staff were a credit to the business 👌 👏

Think the lady who served me was having an off day. My husband had to walk out, but l persevered! The cakes and coffees were really nice, and the outside seating was very pleasant.

Could not fault it.The food first class,I had rump steak cooked to perfection and the home made peppercorn sauce ace. You have a very good team from front of house to the excellent CHEFS. Geoff .

Good but service was slow not the staff's fault as they were rushed off their feet but as it was a nice day with a nice view so gave 5 stars.....................update August 2024 ...........Chips now from Mc Donalds !!

A great cafe half way along the coast.

As always excellent food, service and staff extremely polite and friendly

Mediocre in everything. I had the chicken skewers in garlic and honey marinade. This was an overpowering harsh garlic taste that remained hours after. Slow to take plates away after main course. Prime location but that's the best I can say.

It's okay, food was good so will Go back. Their stout is worth a swill,and they do really nice triple cooked chips.

The service I received twice from one lady was brilliant very polite. I went in again and wasn't impressed with another assistant service.She wasn't very polite. She has served me before and was rude Do I won't be going back.I have worked in. I was going to speak to the manager.If I do go back I live in Felixstowe

Lovely fish and chips, good all round service.

One of the better dining options in Felixstowe. Nice fresh ingredients and well prepared. My husband's haddock was one of the best battered fish we have had in Suffolk. I had a very nice Budda Bowl

Didn't eat hence the average scoring. Coffee was good. View was even better.

Very disappointed with food today. We had toasted sandwiched. Mine was chipolata toasted sandwich with mushrooms as extra, cost £9.25! Very bland, no side salad, just a plate with two pieces of bread a couple of sausages, mushroom on the side. Very expensive for what was served. All three meals were similar, mean with smoked salmon on the other plates. Just served with zero style.

Lovely place for a drink or food. Nice ambiance.

Great food, brilliant atmosphere. After travelling late from Bristol to walk the Suffolk coastal path, they kept the kitchen open for us to place an order last minute. The manager was great and the staff were excellent.

Far too expensive went somewhere else in the end

Popped in for a quick drink and bite to eat. Haven't been in here for many years but still a lovely cafe to visit. Lovely staff, not too busy but busy enough to make a good atmosphere. Had Nachos which were good and had them topped with pulled pork. At least made with real cheese!

This cafe has a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. We love the brunch menu plus having been few times the rest of the menu is slightly also excellent. We keep going back again and again.

I've had to leave a review because of the 'wow factor' we got at the 'New Year's Eve' meal here 2023/2024. The welcome was very good, the food was very very good, but, the service was very excellent. I/we have been to many top restaurants in the UK, Europe and the US, also a few Michelin restaurants. Believe me when I say the food and the service here was easily on par with our past experiences at very renowned top restaurants. We had a fantastic night, well above expectations. I/we had to drop a star due to the doormen being (putting it politely) a little unprofessional. My wife at 42 years old came outside to stand with me as I was having a cigar, she got cold after a few minutes and as she tried to re-enter the pub she was quite aggressively pushed back by a Doorman/bouncer because the pub was full. She did give back as good as she got, she also explained to him that we had a table booked here above in the restaurant and spent over £200. She said that should be a good reason for her to re-enter. He did pull a frown and laugh at her, so my parter got her receipt out for proof. He let her in..... We did not let this ruin our night, but it did put a dent in our mood. We did plan staying all night to celebrate the new year, but, we did leave shortly after this incident and went home to celebrate the new year. I want to make a couple of suggestions, that is,, , hire doormen who are more professional, not 'Nightclub' type doormen. (I did see a doorman wearing a jacket with the logo of a very near nightclub). In my opinion a doorman with a more professional approach rather than the aggressive approach would suit this pub far more. I also want to suggest that either using a stamp or wristband may be worth using with paying customers who have booked a table, as to avoid this happening again in the future. Went with friends who were staying for the weekend. First visit for me after a recommendation from my husband who had a work meeting over coffee here. We all loved it. Had coffees/teas and cakes. Lovely views and v yummy.

Pre-concert drinks and meal. All very nice but no 'real ales' unfortunately. Food and service excellent.

Food was poor, poached egg with hollandaise sauce, eggs cold, sauce was a smear, avocado was a dollop that was guacamole seemed of cheap supermarket quality, cheesy fries with BBQ sauce were squares not fries, all quite disgusting, special of stir fried beef needed eating quickly before went cold was ok, beer was from bottom of barrel, Sauvage Blanc was nice. Service was good, but due to quality of food wouldn’t go back

Our 'Go To' place for brunch when visiting Felixstowe, as can eat outside under canopy in most weathers! Wonderful poached and scrambled eggs served by cheerful staff. Only slight disappointment is baked beans have yet again been taken off children's breakfast and replaced with mushrooms. Not many children like mushrooms so please have beans as an option too!

To our delight we were able to take our drinks 'al fresco'(& presumably food had we order chosen order some)on tables across the road from the Alex on grass taking in the sunshine and sea view The food on offer looked above standard pub food anf of a generous portions which was reflected in the price .

Went here yesterday for the 1st time, and I'll definitely be back. The staff were all really friendly and the food was fantastic. You pay a little more than other places but I'd personally say it's well worth it. I like the fact you can add extras onto your meal and the prices are all clear on the menu. They have plenty of specials and also happy hour early evening where a pint is about £4. The cocktails were really good. Great views and a lovely atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend.

Visited this establishment on a local recommendation... just had the Lemon Sole. To put it bluntly, I would say it was one of the most terrible meals I have ever had, & to add insult to injury... within 20mins I have had unbelievable multiple diahorra. On a positive note, the Ghost Ship was quite good

Good service, good food, and very clean.

Excellent views, quality food and service. The Brassie recently hosted us at a private event and we were absolutely delighted with the experience. The communication beforehand was speedy and reassuring. The food served was so delicious and good value and included great veggie options. Our host Alex was hugely helpful and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble- he even made us a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu. Highly recommend for private events!

I love this place!! Ideal setting overlooking the sea. Excellent food, well cooked and reasonably priced. Genuinely nice staff who obviously enjoy their jobs. I will come back over and over. Check out the colour changing toilets! Update: this is my favourite go to eatery in felixstowe and it never disappoints. Food today was delicious, service was brilliant and the seascape was amazing.

Nice bar to chill out at in the evening, can be a little loud and busy but has a good atmosphere, plus the cocktails are amazing.

Lovely bacon! Freshly squeezed orange juice, good coffee, scrambled eggs and toast.

Fabulous fish and chips. Good, friendly service. Good wheelchair access. Atmosphere a bit lacking but that may have been due to the time we were eating (early evening).

Accommodation good. Location appropriate Service fairly acceptable (there was a party at an adjacent table who were occupied the servers somewhat to our detriment). We shall return

Nice place to chill out or get drunk, or both! Resident DJ isn't much to look at but he's pretty good at what he does. Buy yourself some pork scratchings!

A popular bar on the seafront with lovely views out to sea. Upstairs isn't open all the time. Downstairs has good outside seating where you can chat or watch the world go by.

Came here with my two Alexes 🥰 I had the special - slow roasted pork belly with herby black pudding potatoes cakes, butternut squash, spinach, apple sauce and gravy for £23 Was seriously THE BEST thing I have tasted since living in England for the last four months.

Friendly staff but won't take cash unless. Good atmosphere though and great cocktails.

The food was tasty(I recommend fish&chips) and the atmosphere was lovely. I will come again if I’ll visit again in the future. The romanian guy who’s working there is the best.

Great location, dog friendly and food delicious

Doggie friendly but only outside, under cover and with very effective overhead heaters. Sadly, as the only people using the external facility there was little atmosphere but would definitely return.

Popped in for lunch, menu now seems over complicated (stick to simple) and waited 30 mins for a cajun chicken skewer which was dried out when it arrived. Alex is great venue but food is hit n miss.. This won't stop me going back though. Had some great dining there previously

Delicious 😋 Tasty catch of the day and the croissant was lush! Not often you can find somewhere so close to the seafront that is this great quality! A definite must if you’re nearby.

Fish and chips were great, batter was fantastic.

Popular, relaxing, good sea views, dog friendly outside, great food and drinks, invluding cocktails, friendly staff.

Superb food, brilliant chefs producing perfect dishes. We had liver and bacon and pork kebab, plus an amazing bisque soup. Lovely friendly staff too. We travelled from Cambridge rained all day but well worth the journey.
