Had an amazing night for the opening weekend, food was incredible, tasty and fresh. Atmosphere was very friendly and joyful from all the bar staff. Looking forward to my next visit already.

went last night, after one drink I felt faint and really ill. Didn't leave my drink unattended however I believe my drink was spiked. Beware.

Violent, power hungry bouncers who beat the living daylights out of their customers for any reason they want. Do not go here if you value your safety. Absolutely shameful the way they treat people.

Disgusting establishment that allows sad, vile men to brutally attack their customers and leave them bloody, with a broken arm and concussion. There are multiple reports of similar instances across Facebook. Might I also add that each time they have conviniently 'lost' their CCTV footage. Do us all a favour and humble your sad little bouncers who feel the need to abuse their power and traumatise your customers.

The bouncers are absolutely foul and disgusting. Sad little men who feel the need to abuse their position of power and look down on the customers. My friend was brutally attacked by one of the bouncers and was sent to the hospital after being arrested for god knows what, it should have been the bloody bouncer in the police car! He has a broken arm, had blood pouring from his head and was vomiting after the vicious attack. (Unrelated to the venue but he was further injured after the police tackled him while incapacitated and bleeding). The bouncer was practically uninjured. This venue really needs to consider who they are hiring as doormen and bouncers. They looked like they were in full tactical gear or something! Sad, vile humans with no morals.

Great staff great djs not a cheap night out..far from it but great for an occasion

Absolutely brilliant night out Saturday! Went back Sunday for some quiet drinks. Met Lynn the manager - great fun and very friendly!

Lovely place and and very nice atmosphere. Excellent variety of drinks Gins, beers and etc. Very good, friendly and attentive service. Large room and very comfortable seats!! Definitely recommend.

Might be ideal at night with music and crowds but during the day its dull, outside is ok but you are over come with fag smoke from the other 2 tables (only 3 outside tables), inside seating needs a clean, so much dust down the sides of the seats and a grubby floor, zero atmosphere during daylight and the only food on offer is from the chip shop opposite so presume they have to run across the road with it, a bit odd, so day times its not the place to eat and drink, late nights for a skin full its probably ok but I will never know.

Great place, way toooo many people. Big problem is letting people out for a cigarette...jams um the entrance. I'm sure it is over capacity. Add covid and young people just isn't smart☹️ for the sake of money.

The old guy behind the bar needs to go - major attitude problem.

I recently went here for a friends engagement celebratory night out. We had a VIP area and the only down side was it wasnt clear it was a VIP area so we had a few ransoms sit down. Apart from that it was a lovely evening. The drinks were reasonable and the staff friendly. I would recommend getting there earlyish as it's very popular and gets very busy.

Nice venue, good vibe. In general everything was good. However every bar person handles money then uses their hands to dip into a tray to pick up a lemon or lime and then put it in your drink with their hands. An older guy with glasses behind the bar dropped a lemon and straw on the dirty bar top, then picked them up and put them into my drink. And became annoyed with me when I wouldn't accept the drink from him. He was very arrogant, I was shocked at his attitude. The other staff and door staff seemed friendly. I would suggest the company should supply tongs of some description for hygiene reasons. And review that guys customer service.

Lively bar in Leigh round on Leigh road, caters for an older crowd which suited me, lots of comfy couches inside which are not all squashed together and tables outside for when the weather is better, attended as part of a civilised hen night and were very well looked after and great selection of Gins

I was out with a couple of mates which two of us are both new to the pubs and bars in Leigh anyway after a couple of other venues we made our to the vine and to be air was struggling for my breath after the walk up the hill and thats where we meet Lynn and Sherman on the door of the Vine and we had a joke and a bit of conversation with them and found out some useful tips and they were great and very friendly staff and inside was awash with people enjoying the environment and people watching and i am defently going to recommended to friends and family

Fantastic lively and friendly pub for pre meal drinks. Plenty of space, friendly and quick bar staff and friendlier clientele. Not the place to go if you want a peaceful drink

If it's evening and you are in your 20s you should go. If you're older and want a quiet drink either go during the day or go elsewhere. The place is packed at the weekends and is loud and lively. If you're in the mood for a party, this is the place to go.

This place seems to have lost it way. Large bar area. The staff are not the friendliest. A good selection of drinks but head to other places if your looking for a fun happy atmosphere

Came here after a brunch on a Saturday, had a large jug of pimms and found a nice seat on large sofas. Staff were really nice and it was lovely and clean in there nice seating area outside when it’s hot

Haven't actually been for food in here but had several great nights out. Friendly staff and friendly doorstaff - something of a rarity!!

Decent, not too expensive for what it is

Our annual meet up as a group of friends long since left school takes us to a night out with pre meal drinks and an evening catching up. For the past three years we met at the Vine and previously, hense returning, it was good. This year we met to be confronted with a bar manager who regularly vapes at the end of the bar and more seriously a group of four at a table near where we were standing puffing away. Us moving away was not an option. For those of us with respiratory problems and with those who genuinely find inhaling an obnoxious unknown smelly substance something to be avoided we stay away from anything that is an unkown risk. Apart from that the smokiing ban was imposed for a reason. We will not be frequenting here again, there are many quality drinking establishments nearby. Whoever has the power to intervene should do so, vaping has no place in social environments, there is a perfectly good pavement, away from the door.

OK but a fight broke out amongst 2 girls which was sorted out but not what you want on a relaxing night out.

I will always understand that bars will invite all Sorts and on a busy weekend, you’ve been warned, it’s hideously packed, and there are queues and waits both to get in and once you are in too. On arrival on a busy and late Saturday night after dinner, we arrived to find someone falling over the barrier outside the bar and onto the pavement. While we have been there and done that, it’s not great to see when people can’t handle a drink. Not that this is the bars fault. It was heaving inside, to the point you couldn’t even see the bar. Even the security man said it was a nightmare and when leaving 3 mins later, he said good call! It was at least 6 deep the entire length of the bar, no standing space at all, and very young clientele, so we left. Having been here during the day, it’s actually a lovely spacious and friendly place, so that’s probably the only time I’ll visit here in future.

No food. Bar with drink selection. Pleasant to sit but by main road. Bar man a hoot. Recommend for drinking on a night out.

It literally kills me that I even have to give this place 1 * old bloke behind the bar is utterly rude along with other staff, food is s h i t & overpriced, hour wait for a ham sandwich and asked for no mustard because of allergies when received it had mustard, politely said I can’t have mustard old bloke was rude brought back another sandwich with new bread but the mustard had clearly been wiped off the ham as their was still some on there. If you want to go to a place where it shows on the staff face they can’t be asked to be there then it’s your place to be. Don’t care if friends/family ever want to go there, it makes me cringe to think I’d be putting money into that business

The boy who claims he is the manager was extremely rude. Exercising his position as manager included being extremely rude to me and my guests whilst eating in the restaurant and at the bar. We have never experienced rudeness on such a large scale. We complained about a dish being served cold only to be subject to verbal abuse. We decided to abandon the meal and received yet more verbal abuse from "the boy". After reluctantly paying for a meal we hadn't eaten we left and will never return.

This was my first visit to The Vine. Staff are great, in my experience. Knowledgeable and friendly. As the place is popular with the "It" crowd of Leigh etc., my partner and I were at The Vine by 19:00 on a Saturday night. The atmosphere radically changes as the place fills up. Therefore, if you enjoy a good drink and a conversation, avoid busiest times. If you are there to party, Friday and Saturday nights from about 20:00 is when you would be going to the Vine. Be mindful that The Vine charges London prices for drinks. :)

Best place in entire area to eat, drink & have fun. Food is outstanding. Staff are bang on.

Went in, Saturday before Christmas. We had 2 under 18’s and were happy to say. We were told that at 4pm we were not allowed to be in the establishment past 7.... at 6:45 I tried to order a round a drinks and went to the bar, before I was even served I was asked to leave. I’m not angry at the fact I was asked to leave, but the manner I which I was spoken to. I appreciate that I was given a time limit but we were just well within the time. I was really unhappy with the way the bar tender spoke to us. It was unnecessary and uncool. We continued our night elsewhere.

My girlfriend and I come in here regularly for food during the day and have always been impressed with both the service and quality of the food. Came in today and thought we'd try the Sunday roast which was amazing, possibly the best in the area. Would highly recommend!

Visited The Vine part of the Vine Group (as explained by our quirky waiter) for food. Not an ideal setting for dinner as the bar was so noisy and right beside the dining area which is a small section at the side so we had people standing right over us during our meal. Food took an hour to come out (4 people and we only had 2 different things so wasn't particularly complicated) and only 1 other table had put an order in during this time. Waiter didn't check how our food was and didn't ask if we wanted more drinks. Couldn't get waiter's attention as he was serving behind the bar and no one else attending to the diners. At the end he cleared the plates and asked if we wanted drinks. We decided we'd had enough and would go elsewhere so asked for the bill. A good 20 minutes later he walked past and we asked again. We then expressed our dissatisfaction with our experience and the waiter was quite argumentative so we asked to speak to the manager. Someone else came to speak to us and he did make an effort to sit down and hear what we had to say. He kindly explained we'd only had to wait 20 minutes for food (we booked a table for 8pm and the food came at 9.20pm) and we should expect to wait that long as it was pay day, they were busy and they only had 1 chef on. So this was effectively our fault for not having the right expectations that a restaurant would be suitably staffed for pay day busy-ness and I assume this is why he never once apologised. He asked what we wanted him to do about it and refused a discount on the meal but brought us a glass of prosecco each (but as one of our friends wasn't drinking he refused to bring her anything, not even a soft drink). All we wanted was for them to say sorry and be genuinely apologetic and listen to us as customers. So if you want to get a nice dining experience I would suggest going elsewhere

From the moment we walked in to the decor, , the service, and the food, well I loved it beautiful flavour and presentation. A wonderful hour in life😀👍✔ thanks for wrapping up the pizza to go 👍

After having dinner elsewhere my husband and I decided to meet my sister and her partner for a drink at the Vine. Upon going to the bar I noticed one of my favourite drinks was available - Lychee Martini. This was ordered and took a sip of my £8.50 cocktail and it's tasted nothing like what I've tasted in the past being it was sickly sweet. I went back to the bar where I asked a bar lady if she could make another without the sugar to which she asked what seemed to be the bar manager. He came over to me and rudely said no I've already made it and huffed. 'Okay' I thought and turned to take my horrendous drink away to be knocked into by a man who spills a little of my full cocktail. Once returning to my party the bar lady approaches me to accuse me of tipping my drink everywhere! What sort of place is this? Can safely say me, my husband our friends and family will NOT be stepping foot in here again and recommend you don't either unless you like rudeness, arrogance and unfriendly atmosphere. This night we could have spent a lot of money but decided to take our custom elsewhere.

We only had some drinks while sitting outside in the sun, and it was fairly empty, as most people had headed to the busier parts of Leigh (by the water and near Broadway) but it was still pleasant enough with a nice atmosphere.

Visited on a Thursday night, young guy served us fantastic cocktails and was happy to talk us through the whole menu, very friendly service from both the guys that were working. Reasonably priced Drinks and good atmosphere!

Fui para bebidas en la vid con tres amigos el sábado por la noche. Yo vivo localmente y con frecuencia la bebida aquí informalmente durante la semana así como los fines de semana. Fue mi partido y yo pedimos 4 Martinis con una rubia Pornstar camarera por 34 libras a las 10 pm. La camarera derramó el 4 disparos de prosecco que acompañan los cócteles y luego procedió a servir a otros clientes. Un segundo mestizos camarera era servir y me vi buscando confuso, ya que me encontraba en el bar con mi recibo en mi mano. Ella me dijo que ella haría mi cócteles en un minuto pero luego continuó a servir a otros clientes. Ella y luego ir a la zona del bar que hacen los cócteles pero estaba haciendo cócteles para alguien. Ahora que he estado esperando 10 minutos y le pregunté a la camarera rubia original para cambiar mi pedido una botella de Prosecco. Ella dijo que tenía que hablar con el gerente y una joven rubia hombres venir en forma muy agresiva antes incluso hablado con él. Le pregunté para cambiar mi pedido, pero se negó sin darme una explicación. Me dijo que me habían dicho que había una espera en cócteles que era mentira. Protesté y pedí una botella de Prosecco y él me gritó que si no "cállate, yo estaría tirado". Su actitud era completamente irracional y él era extremadamente grosero. 5 minutos más tarde recibimos los cócteles que eran bonitas, pero la espera era totalmente inaceptable. En ningún momento nos dijeron que había una espera y nunca he sido hablado por un gerente de tal forma. Este lugar ha sido durante mucho tiempo un favorito mío, pero después de esta experiencia horrible que no volveremos. La vid deben reconocer que esta no es la primera mala crítica acerca de este director. Necesitan hablar con él acerca de su servicio al cliente. También debe reconocer que si los tiempos de espera para los cócteles están a 15 minutos en una noche de sábado, o necesita más personal bar o sólo sirven cócteles cuando no es tan concurrido.

Very nice food but terrible service. To be fair there was about 8 tables and only one waitress so it wasn't her thought, obviously Down to the management. Prob won't return for food now as wouldn't want to wait an hour for my food again

We have reviewed this place before and living local we were hoping our reviews would capture the attention of the owner in order to rectify - but sadly not. Yet having to book we ate in an empty restaurant. Some of my group made jokes of the burger being worst than McDonalds. The steak wasn't edible, the pasta was a mass stuck together in the bowl. It went on and on. The customer service from the barman was the worse we have ever experienced. He informed us he was the manager !!!!! How can any restaurant owner put who acts and looks like an 18 year old in charge and expect productivity...........

This is not the place for a quiet meal with your partner as very loud music and very noisy drinkers as diners are up on a raised area . Lots of big groups which I think it's better for at weekends probably quieter in the week . Our waiter was great fun the food was ok starters good but mainly burgers and pizza

Came with the girls on a Saturday night and we ordered pornstar martinis as well as pineapple mojitos.. they were amazing! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great, would happily return!

Last night was the first time we visited the Vine. We were welcomed by the smell of sewage which remained throughout our visit. The toilets were dirty and found the staff extremely rude and unhelpful. The place wasn't busy yet we had to wait too long to be served. We went there to eat but the smell put us off so we left and will not return.

The food was terrible and the customer service worse. The barman refused to serve us cocktails as he had just washed the utensils !!!! After reading the other reviews we are not the only ones that received such disgusting service and will not return to this place we had such high hopes for.

At the end of the evening the head barman decided to turn up the lights and declined to turn them down when asked, apparently he does this every time when there are less than five people left. Having just been served we were left feeling very uncomfortable.

Such a great warm-up for Xmas!! We spent Xmas eve afternoon at the Vine this year with our family , about 12 of us, which included our 18 month old grandson. The bar was so busy but the refreshing part was it included lots of families and it was so lovely to be in an environment that was so accommodating of young children, especially at Xmas. If you want somewhere to meet up with your family and chill on the sofas for an afternoon i would definitely recommend the Vine.

14 of us had a lovely meal, served together with just the right waiting time between courses. I chose the turkey dinner, which was lovely and plentiful, all other party members were happy with their choices. The waitress was a cheery little star that night and put up with a fair bit of flack from people all taken in good humour. The only downside was the noise in the very full bar, but then we had booked on the last Saturday before Christmas. Would not hesitate to recommend to people.

I have just returned from a Xmas meal at the Vine and I must say, it was a complete disaster.There was eight of us, and at that point, the only people in the restaurant. The starters came out, and they were fairly nice, Brie, tomato soup and squid, but it all went wrong when the mains came out, the steaks were cold, the lamb uncooked and the turkey was dry and re heated.The steaks were sent back, and the rest of the meals were half finished. The final bill was minus the two steaks, and nothing else. If you know Leigh, this is probably a nice venue for a drink, but if you want food, avoid at all cost.

Had a great night. The place was busy due to the Christmas light celebration in Leigh. Service was still fast and courteous. Christmas menu looks good too.

Lovely location and perfect for a wine during the week or with friends. However the attitude from the bar staff is really quite shocking to the extent you can't quite believe what you're seeing. I think it must be a cultural thing within the business, rude and non customer friendly - just how a business should be eh!?

Popped in for a drink and some lunch. Had a nice meal of cod goujons and sweet potato fries - these were amazing! Great staff especially the dark haired lady who runs the bar.

Well placed in this busy shopping street for a quick drink. Not so much a public house than a bar with comfy chairs. Beer served cold if that's your thing, but at a premium price.

We went here in mid-afternoon, so it had a nice quiet atmosphere. It was outside normal lunchtime, but they were still happy to serve us. The food was good, without being amazing. I had a camembert, sun blush tomato and pesto ciabatta, which was reasonably priced I thought at £5, though my girlfriend's chicken burger was more than twice the price for something quite similar.

I was out with family and was refused entry because we were wearing golf attire and yet the people who were allowed in but outside smoking also wore sports tops. The image of Leigh (I lived there for many years) is friendly but it far from that it's now about image . Lucky Tigerlilly over the road were not so judgemental and welcomed us with open arms.

We revisited this bar on Saturday intending to eat but again an empty restaurant put us off. The elderly barman dancing was entertainment we didn't expect but a good laugh. The young chap who claims he is the manager especially needs to be re appointed to the cleaner or any position "if any" so he can practice his customer service skills.......

I have had good experiences at this place before, unfortunately the last time I was there I got a very mediocre meal. I chose the steak and it was tough and very well done even though I had asked for it medium rare and sadly the garnish was pretty underwhelming with little to no seasoning. I had guests with me who were also unimpressed with their meals so it was a little embarrassing.

Have been in here a few times recently on a Saturday for lunch. Very nice and chilled and is great when the weather is nice to sit outside or on the sofas in the window.Great waitress with dark hair.Recommend the camembert, sun roasted tomatoes and pesto baguette with chips!

Having won a voucher at a charity evening for a meal with wine we went with friends last night and were impressed with the surroundings and nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals and would highly recommend and will be returning Debbie

This place was recommended to us as a nice friendly "Up Market" bar. We went along Saturday but left bitterly disappointed. The staff were rude - too busy chatting amongst themselves or pranking around to notice customers were waiting to be served. We had to shout several times to get their attention. As it looked like the bouncer was guarding the empty restaurant we asked if we could sit in there. She told us to ask the bar. After several discussions and arguments with the elderly bar man, a younger barman stepped in to inform us "the restaurant is closed if you want to sit down find somewhere else to go". We stood at the bar finishing our drinks with the intentions to leave when a fight broke out - it was worth the visit to see the female bouncer grab a customer by the neck and throw him off the premises........ We didn't eat so no review on the food but after our visit we can only imagine the level of customer service we would expect ..........

Birthday celebrations for a party of 10, was recommended the Vine for pre dinner cocktails, and the recommendation was spot on. Cocktails were freshly, expertly made, with good organisation and friendly manner by the bar staff. They had a job on their hands, with a busy Saturday, and our group of 10 chopping and changing the order and asking for advice for the different cocktails. Well done The Vine for making it a real special occasion, and really tasty cocktails.

Took a chance going here for a Business meeting and not knowing a lot about it as a venue,however great staff good choice of drinks, the menu not the most extensive but of a good quality

We came here on Saturday night about 10:30ish at night after going on a bit of a bar crawl. Ordered a vodka diet coke and a watermelon martini - girl came back over with 2 vodka diet cokes and when I said I had actually ordered a cocktail she told me that it would mean her going down the end to make it and it would take about 5 mins! I took that to mean she couldn't be bothered so I took the vodkas - had to remind her I had ordered doubles too to which she poured another shot in both.Not that impressed.

Had dinner at The Vine with my husband and four children, all the children enjoyed there meals, staff where excellent, couldn't of asked for a better evening.

Went here for lunch with my Sister when shopping in Leigh one afternoon, Had the Homemade pizza from the lunch menu and a glass of wine, which costs just under £10!The Pizza was lovely and I would highly recommend. The service was pretty average but the price and quality of the food balanced it out!

I live very close. Visited for a drink with a friend from out of town. All the tables in the bar either full or empty and reserved. Restaurant was empty. Just wanted a place to sit and enjoy our drinks. Sat down at one of the empty unreserved tables and was promptly and very rudely told to move as we weren't eating. I suggested we would move if they required the table but this was not good enough..... So had to stand although the place was full of empty seats. Which incidentally didn't fill up while we were there. Horrible I will never visit again. This place is really nothing special.

Stay away! I highly dislike your security staff failing to let me in as apparently I was involved in a 'brawl' even though the woman saw me jump out of a cab directly outside. You missed out big time. Will never be returning.

This is quite a nice place, all told, but the service can be a bit odd. Still, they do good food and they have a restaurant and separate lounge area in the window. Two big screens for sport lovers.

Went to this place for Christmas dinner with work and partners. First of all it was very packed with people just drinking. Whilst we waited the two waiting staff was having to push past us to get food out due to bad lay out of the place. When we finally got to sit down 30 mins after our table was booked (even though it was sitting there empty ready for us). We was squashed in like sardines. My other half had his chair knocked lots of times and his coat knocked to the ground. There wasn't a Christmas cracker at all on the table but the other tables had some,and paper table cloth.I had prawn cocktail which must have come direct from the fridge, as very cold and lack of taste plus full of water.Mains I had steak cooked lovely but must have been sitting on the hatch as cold. Waiter did sort this and was lovely and hot. Pudding was lovely.Afterwards we lost our table as they wanted to fold it up. The place gave the feeling of a singles pulling bar. Wouldn't go back too loud and busy great if your trying to pull.Would recommend this place should only do food until 5pm and then leave it to the pulling ground.

Went to meet friends, in the vine, was late so went to bar to order my first drink . A double gin and tonic , to catch up . Barman poured first shot in the glass ,but with the second shot he missed the glass so only got half a shot. Then squirted the tonic in via a pump which came out so fast the drink spilt out over the top of the glass . I said that I felt he'd split most of the second shot but he was unconcerned! The drink had ice and lime in it which I didn't ask for and was completely flat because I think it was soda not tonic . When I complained that I didn't want ice and lime he said that was how they served their drinks and I should have said if I hadn't wanted them!! In my opinion they should have asked if I wanted it as I am not a regular customer and am not a mind reader ! The drink was disgusting so my friend who knew the owner Andy 'someone ' went to speak to him about the poor service. I decided to go over and let him taste the drink for himself and was totally shocked and very upset by the response I got . He was verbally abusive , saying that if I didn't like the drink I could f----- leave. I tried to explain that it was flat and didn't taste like gin and tonic , and his response was , "That I had already been told and that if I didn't like it I could f---off. He didn't need my custom. "He commented to one of his friends that this is what happens at Christmas and stormed off behind the bar , I said he was very rude and if he didn't believe me to taste the drink so he could see it was flat . He said all that all the tonics came out of bottles and swore again that I could f------ leave if I didn't like the drink".He was either lying or I wasnt given tonic , as I suspected because whatever I was given came out of a pump not a bottle. !! He wasn't prepared to listen to what I was saying and was incredibly rude. I have never been spoken to like that before! I was so upset I told my friend I was leaving that I couldn't stay there . Walked home in tears . What a horrible man! Would recommend not going there.

A excellent venue, food was excellent, service was very good, waiter was polite, and attentive. The starters were delivered in order time, and were Awsome.The roast was devine,all meats cooked correctly, and veggies and roasting too.I would glady return again ang highly recommend.
