This is a fabulous tea rooms. Not only do you get tea but looking around the small antiques and materials is a pleasure. For 3.50 I made 3 lovely unusual cushions in first class quality material. Please support as this virus is not helping with this small business.

Stopped for coffee and a scone and can recommend. Lacks charm from outside but an Aladins cave within. Good food and friendly service.

Now the Village Tearoom and Beryls(sic) Emporium. Not at all what I was expecting, a tearoom inside an antique and drapery shop. It doesn't have a huge range of food but what they do is nice and the staff are friendly and efficient. If you accept it is a cafe and not a restaurant there is nothing not to like really. I would certainly go again.

Lovely people. Partly antique shop (main shop next door). Good quality grub. Excellent car parking. View of The Cheviot foot hills. NB Ratings based on it being a cafe, not a full blown lunch restaurant.

A nice place to stop for a tea and homemade treat. Fairly good selection of things to eat. We enjoyed the toasted tea cakes. Tearoom adjoins a antique shop so lots to look at if you have time.

We called in for a cup of tea and a bun, but was told as it was after 15-30 by there clock they would not serve us (last orders 15-30) we pointed out there clock was fast but to no avail. We have always called in on our visits to this area but never again. We will travel on to Wooler where we got proper customer service.

Gorgeous cafe serving home made food. I ordered scones and tea which came in a China teapot. Also has antiques on display. Plenty of parking.

We almost didn't stop here but went back and so glad we did. An absolute little gem. Gorgeous hot chocolate, delicious soup, lovely tea cakes and bacon buttie. Not forgetting home made pies and pasties. And then there's the antique and fabric empor ium. Just wow. Lots of lovely china and collectibles and a huge array of wonderful fabrics. And the staff/owner are lovely. We l9ved it so much we went back a week later on our way home from holiday.

Really friendly and welcoming. Every time Im in this cafe I enjoy the coffee and cake. The tea loaf is especially good. You can also browse an interesting selection of vintage items and fabric remnants. Quite quirky but long live the unusual cafe! A welcome stop on the road to Scotland.

This is a very interesting cafe - being attached to the 'emporium' which sells all manner of antique items, clothing, material and much more besides. The cafe has a limited menu but the sandwiches and cakes we have had there have always been pleasant and reasonably priced. It is a fun place to stop for a casual meal and browse around.

If you want a hot brew, a friendly face and a nip to the loo on your journey then go to the garage next door, none of this is on offer in this tearoom unfortunately.

I love antique shops, so my husband kindly planned a 'road trip', taking in as many antique shops as possible. We were delighted at finding this establishment as it was warm and welcoming as soon as we walked in; the display of home-made cakes, scones, tea loaf etc was impressive. We enjoyed hot tea and coffee, with shortbread and tea loaf, and had a delightful chat with the ladies. We left with our antique shop purchases having enjoyed ourselves, and we will be going back, so thoroughly recommend.

Came across this excellent cafe whilst cycling in the Borders area. Friendly and helpful staff & cafe adjoining an antique shop. Take care if cycling on busy main road.

Driving past en route to holiday cottage and saw the sign, lookeed perhaos a little jaded, but do not be deterred! The place is wel worth a visit. Both for the friendly tea room and the browse round the items for sale. NOTE IT is cash only but signs state this. We hope for a returnvisit before returning home, in case we cant resist the super cakes and bargains !

Been here on several occasions and have enjoyed every visit! Firstly, we visit the tearoom where drinks are served in china cups and saucers and food on china plates - such a nice touch! When rested and refreshed, we look around the Emporium which has a vast array of antiques and collectibles and lovely fabrics. This is a most enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours!

Not inspired outside view but inside an aladins cave. We had sausage rolls and cakes. Chocolate and bake well tart. All home made and delicious . The tea came in a teapot with China cups and plates. The total cost £8. Well worth a visit.

Lovely little tea room that is an addition to the antique and fabric shop. I had tea with lemon drizzle tart all served on vintage china. Very friendly. Cash only and toilets are for tea room customers not shoppers but signage stating this before you enter. Would certainly visit again.

Went to buy some fabric from there, whilst looking my 8 year old daughter needed the loo, I asked the old lady behind the counter if she could use the toilet, her reply was the toilets for customers only, I said she's 8 and could she please use the loo she said no and to go use the loo in the garage next door, she's very rude and I'll never go back

This cafe is part of an antiques 'emporium' so one can enjoy browsing around the antiques and fabric on sale in the area adjoining the cafe. The cafe itself is light and airy and a pleasant place to sit and enjoy casual food. the menu is limited but what they have is fresh and well prepared. One can have soup of the day, a range of sandwiches on brown or white bread, hot filled rolls and cakes and scones. Today the vegetable soup was very nice and the salmon sandwich fresh and tasty. The cafe is clean and service prompt and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable and we call here for a simple lunch in interesting surroundings. The emporium is located next to the filling station on the main road in Powburn.

We have been to this tearoom many times and can't believe I haven't written a review. We love mooching around the antique and fabric shop attached to the cafe and the antique centre next door is one of our favourites. We always have turkey and cranberry sandwiches because turkey so lovely, thick, real not reformed stuff. Homemade coleslaw so lovely. Tea served in beautiful China cups and sandwiches served on lovely plates. Service excellent. Toilets lovely and clean too which is very important for me. We have had cake and shortbread too and they are fresh homemade and so tasty, We usually then go on to Wooler which we love.

Just dropped in at 4 pm. Notice says open until 4.30. Very unwelcoming member of staff announced that the tea room was closed at 4. In effect they stop serving at 4 to close at 4.30. Not a place I would revisit! Isn't 4 o'clock a reasonable time for a cup of tea?

A warm welcome, fresh food (excellent bacon), and clean loos - plus an extraordinary collection of antiques and bric a brac - and fabrics. Small grassy patch for dogs and ample car parking. Ramp access. Open on New Year's Day and for this alone they deserve to be busy! Have driven past for years, but now 'official' family pit stop!

This is much more than your average food and gifts. Antiques, gifts, and amazing fabric (heaven for a sewer) plus a lovely tearoom too - what more could you want? Very nice plain simple fare, sandwiches and cakes, all home made I presume by the taste, lovely coffee, all served on oddly matched china. Very interesting place, please visit soon, it's worth it.

We stopped by chance at The Percy Arms for a drink and ended up eating an amazing meal-Wednesday afternoon and very quiet but the food was delicious and the service excellent. The soup was very tasty and the steak cooked to perfection - we will return!

I’m so sad to see this lovely place closed. It had great staff and atmosphere and a fantastically good smoked haddock chowder. I wish its people all the best and I thank them for all the great visits we’ve had here. I really hope that there might be a replacement cafe of such quality. We’ll watch with interest.

Our introduction to this country pub was to a spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean bedroom, with stunning views of the fells. Next dinner and cooking of Michelin quality. A highlight was the scallop with belly pork, a brilliant dish. Next morning breakfast, again flawless in every respect from the service to the produce. Any prospective dining pub owner/chef should come here to see how it's done.

As always the food was amazing and the portions very generous. A lovely warm welcome and Sarah went above and beyond when one of our party decided after our meals were brought out that she would like some bread and butter with her meal. Sarah sorted it out without any fuss.
